Complete Battle Mode

*Updated 5/20* Injustice Patch v1.03 Release Notes

[spoiler=3]The following methods still work despite the 5/20 patch update, however you can delete the "Injustice Title Update" from your Storage by going to Settings > System > Storage if you continue to struggle. Some of the cast have received some nerfs and buffs that may make Battle Mode tougher to beat. The patch notes can be found in the link below. The update is 7MB in size.

Battle Mode Strategy

If you are struggling with any of these Battles, then you should definitely use Doomsday, as he has an highly effective combo that is pretty easy to pull off. Simply jump towards your opponent and press (:ddown::abut:) for a Ariel Body Splash attack, then quickly combo into this chain as you land: (:xbut::ybut::abut: + :ddown::dright::abut:). This will literally be the only move and combo you need to pull off in order to clear 18 of the 20 Battles. It will help tremendously for Survivor, Unstoppable, and Impossible! as well.

Feel free to make use of Doomsdays other abilities and moves such as his unblockable Supernova, Iron Skin Character Trait, and his Super Move if necessary. Below, there's a video representing the combo being executed as well as a successful run through Survivor Mode. Credit goes to Obie83 for the combo upload and RA1NKING for the Survivor run.

LIST OF BATTLES

-------------------------------------------------

Classic

In this Battle, you will be tasked to fight 10 random opponents. This is the only Battle that allows you to choose the difficulty, so choose VERY EASY for a quick completion! If you happen to fail at any point during the Battle, you can always retry.

-------------------------------------------------

Heroes Only

This Battle plays similarly to Classic Battle, except this time you will need to verse 8 Hero characters. Again, this shouldn't be too difficult, as you can always retry upon losing a fight.

-------------------------------------------------

Villains Only

Villains Only is identical to Heroes Only, with the obvious switch of opponents being 8 Villains. Remember retries are available in this Battle.

-------------------------------------------------

Poisoned

In the Battle, your health will constantly drain by 5% as you fight your ladder of 10 opponents. Try to choose a character you are comfortable with, as you will want to be able to pull off great combos in order to inflict as much damage to your opponent as possible before they punish you with combos of their own. Overall, this Battle may prove to be troublesome to those who are inexperienced in fighting games, but if you have a strong character, you'll do just fine.

-------------------------------------------------

Survivor

For an early Battle, this one is actually a bit difficult. Here, you will need to face 10 opponents, but your health bar and super meter will carry over every fight. After every fight, you will regain 25% of your health back for winning, in addition to 10% if you: win a clash, land a Super Move, use an interactable object, or land a combo over 20%.

Check out the method below for Impossible! for some good tips with Doomsday. Those tips can help out a lot during this Battle if you cannot beat it with your standard choice of character.

Also take note that if you fail a fight, you will be sent back to the Battle Menu, so retries are NOT available in this Battle.

-------------------------------------------------

Mirror Match

This Battle is self-explanatory. You will face 10 opponents, and you will fight as whoever your opponent is. This shouldn't be too bad, but inexperienced players may have trouble as they will find playing as 10 different characters can be overwhelming. For this Battle, the retry option is always available.

-------------------------------------------------

Mystery

As you fight a ladder of 10 opponents, each fight will begin with a mystery buff or debuff. These can be enhanced speed, no super meter, or reduced health for both players. The buffs and debuffs don't make the fight any harder at all, in fact, they make the fights either standard or a lot easier, so this Battle won't be too hard at all. The retry option is available here as well if you lose a fight.

-------------------------------------------------

Fully Charged

Here's another easy Battle. Your super meter will always be filled to the max, but Super Moves are disabled. That shouldn't be a problem though, as you can Meter Burn your special moves as much as you want. The retry option is available in this Battle.

-------------------------------------------------

Combo Heaven

Be sure to use Aquaman in this Battle, as it will make everything so much easier. His Trident Rush move and the meter Burn version of it are key to this Battle. The retry option is available here, and below is the order of the Combos you must pull off in each fight:

  • Opponent 1: Perform 2 x 3-hit combos
  • Opponent 2: Perform 2 x 4-hit combos
  • Opponent 3: Perform 5 x 3-hit combos
  • Opponent 4: Perform 2 x 5-hit combos
  • Opponent 5: Perform 4 x 5-hit combos
  • Opponent 6: Perform 1 x 10 hit combo
  • Opponent 7: Perform 2 x 9-hit combos
  • Opponent 8: Perform 8 x 4 hit combos
  • Opponent 9: Perform 2 x 12 hit combos
  • Opponent 10: Perform 2 x 12 hit combos

Help From Above

In this Battle, your opponents life bar will be fully restored every 30 seconds. The best way to approach this Battle is to take away their first life bar in the first 30 seconds. Then, when they are on their second life bar, wait for the 30 seconds to expire. It will not both life bars, so now you can focus on their second life bar for the next 30 seconds. Overall, this shouldn't be too bad at all.

This Battle only has 6 opponents and retries are available.

-------------------------------------------------

Injured

This Battle is one of the harder ones here. You will start each fight with only a quarter of your second life bar, while your opponents have two full life bars. Try to choose a character in which you know you can pull off some great combos, otherwise, you can always resort to using Hawkgirl or Doomsday. On the upside, the retry option is available here.

-------------------------------------------------

Give And Take

This Battle is a little frustrating, because every hit your opponent lands on you will restore some of their health and vis versa. You also only have 30 seconds to defeat your opponent which is incredibly troublesome.

Fortunately, there are only 6 opponents here and the retry option is available, so hopefully it won't be too bad. Just make sure to block consistently, and use high-powered combos and interactable objects to your advantage.

-------------------------------------------------

Sidekick

In this Battle, you will need to fight two opponents instead of one, however you'll only have your standard 2 life bars, while your opponent essentially has 4. Choose a character you are most comfortable with and make sure to land good combos on the opponent. You will want to try to get a flawless victory on this first opponent, so that you still have all your health when facing their sidekick.

This Battle will be a little time consuming as well because you are basically fighting 16 opponents. However, the retry option is always available in this Battle.

-------------------------------------------------

Speed Run

In this Battle, you will need to defeat all 10 opponents in under 2 minutes. The good thing is that you will get +6 seconds for performing a Super Move, and +3 seconds for using an interactable object and defeating your opponent.

The retry option is NOT available here, so make sure you perform well enough in the fights to have enough time entering the next fight. This shouldn't be a problem if you use the Hawkgirl or Doomsday methods, however.

-------------------------------------------------

Random Fighter

For this Battle, you will need to fight 10 opponents but for each fight, you will be fighting as someone different. This really shouldn't be a problem, as you can reference the move list of whichever opponent your using to quickly learn their moves and combos. The retry option is available in this Battle.

-------------------------------------------------

Countdown

This Battle tasks you with defeating each of your opponents in just 30 seconds. This is difficult at first, but if you use the Hawkgirl method (Mace Charge) you should be able to do just fine. You will want to strip away their first health bar in under 15 seconds, so that you have the same amount of time to take away the rest of their life bar. This Battle has retries, so don't worry if you lose a fight.

-------------------------------------------------

Unstoppable

In this Battle, you will need to defeat all 10 opponents without dying. This may seem difficult, you if you are using the Hawkgirl or Doomsday method, or are beyond skilled with another character, this Battle won't be that hard. Retries are obviously disabled in this Battle.

"The Max"

In this Battle, you will have to defeat 10 opponents on the Very Hard difficulty without using losing a single fight. This is definitely the hardest Battle in the entire Mode, as the CPU's reflexes and combos are beyond outstanding. Some of the characters, such as Aquaman and Green Lantern, can defeat you in only five or six 20-hit combos.

Fortunately, Hawkgirl is the "go-to" character for this Battle! By using her Mace Charge (:dleft::dright::ybut:), you can inflict a good amount of damage on most of the opponents, or even chip away at their health a significant amount if they are blocking. You'll also realize that this move increases you super meter quickly, and using your Super Move is essential in this Battle, as it helps take away a lot of damage from your opponent.

Using this move, you will still want to avoid certain opponents whenever attempting The Max. Because the 10 opponents you receive are always random, you can simply start up The Max, and if you get specific characters who give Hawkgirl problems, just press start scroll over to Battles, then exit. Repeatedly start up The Max until you get an easier lineup of opponents. Do your best to make sure you don't have to face any of these 7 characters:

  1. Aquaman
  2. Green Lantern
  3. Lex Luthor
  4. Raven
  5. Deathstroke
  6. Wonder Woman
  7. Batman

These characters can easily punish the Mace Charge on start-up with their special moves. They don't fall oblivious for the Mace Charge and are too aggressive. While they are beatable, attempting to remove them from your line-up will make this Battle much easier.

Also take note to use the Mace Charge up close on projectile users such as Ares, Green Arrow, Killer Frost, Sinestro, and Cyborg. Once you land the attack, dash toward them as they "wake up" then input Mace Charge again. Repeat this method, and the CPU should fall for it every time.

Thanks to RANK1NG for the video guide below. And if you aren't able to get rid of some of the 7 characters listed, you can follow the guide below by TheMajinLegend as he explains how to counter said characters in this Battle.

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JB2KzlRlzNA]Injustice Battle Mode The Max Complete - YouTube[/ame]

http://www.kamidogu.com/images/igau/selection_aquaman.gif Aquaman

Difficulty: ★★★★

Strategy: Aquaman is one of the opponents you want to try to avoid in The Max when using Hawk Girl. He will use Trident Toss if you go for Mace Charge in mid-range, or he'll simply use From The Deep and spike you from right under, then 20-hit combo you from there. Still, if you feel you can beat him what you need to do is try to land a Mace Charge on him. The second he's down on the ground dash up toward him closely, and properly time another Mace Charge as he wakes up. He should either block it or if you're lucky, get hit if he decides to go for a wakeup attack. If you get the knockdown, rush up to him and repeat. If you get your Super Meter up I strongly suggest you try to hit it on him. Mash the start button and wait until you see he's about to go for an attack, un-pause the game and quickly hit RT+LT to get a free Super Move in. Using this strategy, you should also be able to beat other annoyances such as Green Lantern or Wonder Woman.

http://www.kamidogu.com/images/igau/selection_batman.gif Batman

Difficulty:★★★

Strategy: Batman is a nuisance so avoid him if you can. He has so many gismos and gadgets to answer to your Mace Charge: Batarangs, Grapple Hooks, and Cape parry. He will use these against your Mace Charge then combo you relentlessly. His Meter Burn slide kicks can also prove annoying. Like most foes with projectiles you want to hit the Mace Charge up close, and properly time another as he gets up. If you're lucky, batman won't try to counter you and will keep blocking the Mace Charge. Beating him is reliant on luck since sometimes he's counter-friendly while other times he will walk right into the Mace Charge. If you're at a good stage with interactibles, you may need to use those as well.

http://www.kamidogu.com/images/igau/selection_deathstroke.gif Deathstroke

Difficulty: ★★★

Strategy: Deathstroke just feels downright cheap and unfair when facing him. Hitting Mace Charge on him feels nearly impossible, because all he does is spam high and low pistol shots. Ultimately, you want to avoid him but people have said he's beatable with the jump method. FInd a way to hit a mace Charge on him somehow then, with perfect timing, jump at or over him as he gets up. He should immediately go for a shot or Meter Burn gun shot, leaving him open for a jump-in attack such as Hawk Girls Down +:abut: dive. Then repeat. Very luck based, and if you don't have any interactive objects to help it's even more annoying.

One other idea is to take flight by jumping and pressing :bbut:. Now try to hit Air Mace Toss whenever you see him go for a shot. You can possibly win by time-out with this method so long as you don't let him get too close. Unless you know how to deal with him, do your best to avoid him.

http://www.kamidogu.com/images/igau/selection_greenlantern.gif Green Lantern

Difficulty: ★★★★

Strategy: One of the hardest opponents you'll face in The Max, avoid him at all costs. The Very Hard version of Green Lantern is absolutely merciless, and once he gets you into Lanterns Might he will 20-hit combo you and take away your first bar of health in seconds. The smallest mistake against Green Lantern can ruin it all for you. At a distance, Green Lantern will shoot Oa's Rocket or Minigun if you even think of going for Mace Charge. He can be beaten, however it will depend on how he acts. If you think he's about to go for a charged attack, thats your ticket to go for a mace Charge, if you connect with one, go ahead a rush up to him and do another on wake up. This is luck dependent but at times it may get you killed.

Interactie objects as well as Super Moves may have to be your ticket in defeating him in most cases. But if you're not good at reading his moves, simply skip him and focus on trying to beat other opponents in The Max.

http://www.kamidogu.com/images/igau/selection_lexluthor.gif Lex Luthor

Difficulty: ★★★

Strategy: Yes, he is in the Top 7 list of those you should avoid be he is beatable. Crouch + :abut: is your best friend against. Use mace Charge at your own risk, it actually hits if Lex happens to go for an attack. But ultimate you want to stay close to him and block. If you see him go for a laser shot, quickly hit Down + :abut: to trip him, followed by a Mace Charge on wake up. Beware of his missiles, and his tackle, which comes out really fast. This is why you should crouch block the whole fight near him. Constant Mace Charge won't work on him, but if you take this fight slow you can win.

Do not mace charge him while he is on the ground, you'll eat a wake-up charge attack every time. What does work against him is doing a charge that he blocks and than spamming after the blocked move. He will continue to block, sometimes letting you drain his entire health bar. Again the key is mace charge being blocked <- Thanks to DNC Protoman for this tip.

http://www.kamidogu.com/images/igau/selection_raven.gif Raven

Difficulty: ★★★

Strategy: Raven and her pesky Soul Crush will make your life very difficult if you expect to beat her-this is why she must be avoided in The Max. Every time you go for mace Charge she will simply Soul Crush you before it even hits her. It grabs you mid air with a purple haze and squeezes you into pain before falling to the canvas. So you want to try to hit mace Charge up close, if you can. Sometimes it will hit her but it comes down to her deciding on whether to SOul Crush you or not. The good part is, the more Soul Crushes she hits on you, the more meter you build for your Super Mode. try hitting 2 Supers on her if you can and utilize interactives. If you're lucky enough, you can beat her with those tactic. Though, with fights that require luck like this, it's best to try to skip her.

http://www.kamidogu.com/images/igau/selection_wonderwoman.gif Wonder Woman

Difficulty: ★★★

Strategy: Extremely annoying fight at times because Wonder Woman has 2 answers to your Mace Charge. I recommend trying to avoid this hair-pulling fight. She'll either throw her Tiara at you or Lasso Grab you while trying to Mace Charge her. This fight is luck dependent, especially if you're not on a stage with interactives you can keep throwing at her. Try to hit the mace Charge close to mid- range. It you're lucky, she'll go for a random attack and it will open her up for a hit. From there, do the same strategy as always. Dash up to her as she gets up then input Mace Charge again. If she blocks the Mace Charge there's a good chance she'll Shield Charge to punish you. You just have to hop she won't be too aggressive.

Another optional method is to crouch block, keep hitting pause, and wait for her to get close, if you see her go for a combo quickly input Mace Charge for an quick hit then repeat. Don't forget to try to hit your Super on her if she's beating you badly. Spamming the pause button is recommended if you feel you can beat her in The Max. If you can get enough mace Charges, surprise her with an interactive object, and hit a Super Move or 2, you can win. If you struggle against her too much simply avoid her and find other opponents to beat in The Max.

"Impossible!"

For this battle you must defeat all 24 characters from the game in succession, with your health bar and Super meter carrying over. If you lose you will be taken back to the main menu, no retries allowed. The difficulty setting for the opponents vary from Very Easy to Hard in this mode. You do in fact get 25% or more of your health replenished after each fight depending on how well you fought. An extra 10% of health will be awarded to you for each bonus objective you complete. After each match you win, the game will tell you your bonuses during your win pose. Try to complete some of the following objectives to get as much Health bonuses as you can:

  • Win the match: 25%
  • Perform a 30% Combo: 10%
  • Use an Interactive object: 10%
  • Win a Clash: 10%
  • Complete a Transition: 10%

This Battle isn't too difficult actually, but you'll have to play smart and careful with your health meter. Use the above mentioned DOOMSDAY METHOD for this, since Hawk Girl has too many bad match ups and will take too long to win fights spamming Mace Charge. The first 10 opponents or so are usually very easy to defeat, but somewhere toward the middle you'll face an opponent who won't fall for your combo so easily. Try crouch blocking against them if they are aggressive and use the pause button until they open them self up then punish. Personally, I found the crouching heavy attack(Down +A) to work well up close.

You want to be smart with your Health and Super Meter because both of these carry over to the next match. Never blow your Super meter on a Super Move, your combo is good enough. Only use meter for Meter Burn with your Venom Tackle or to win clashes, that's it. More than likely while on their 2nd Health Bar(red health), the CPU will try to Clash you when you land a combo on them, so more meter increases your chances of winning or tying those clashes to prevent health loss. Remember, that using single hit heavy attacks(A-button) help prevent the CPU from clashing against you, but then you'll have to worry about them trying to hit you with their super move.

Also use interact-able objects whenever you can, and keep sticking to the combo. Only start pausing against the more resilient CPU and scout for openings. Focus on keeping your health as high as you can and you'll get through all 24 foes. Just make sure you have at least a little over a red health bar going into fights. For me, I had just a sliver of white health going into most fights and I was still able to finish strong. Buckles Supreme has a video of this being done below.

It's too dated for me to enjoy it, lol.

Bethseda games on console are just average games.

Now when you play them on pc their absolutely glorious games. It's a make your own adventure thing. You spend a day choosing the mods to make it however you want. Another day putting them in load orders until they work. And then you enjoy it immensely for a day before leaving it for a few months. Best games ever. Just gotta know how to play em ;)

If you go to Single Player > Single Fight. You can Practice against "The Max" opponents by first selecting Hawkgirl then your opponent in Single Fight. After choosing the opponent you wish to practice this tactic on select the Very Hard difficulty option. During the match, they fight exactly the same was as they do for "The Max". It's how I practiced against Aquaman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Green Lantern using the Hawgirl method just in case I ran into them in Battle Mode. Those specific characters are very tricky to beat with Mace Charge alone and may require a more refined strategy with Hawkgirl if needed when using the Mace Charge.

I plan to add my own Versus guide for each Hawgirl match up to help enhance this guide a bit more. I'll simply edit it into this post or possible have it added into your guide if you want. Just post THIS link under The Max post to help with the 7 bad match ups against Hawkgirl. Thanks BiggD. Also I got these character icons from MKI so major credit to them.

Edit. Okay so here's the guide I'm posting on a friend's behalf:

http://www.mortalkombatunited.com/images/injustice-forum/injustice-Hawkgirl.png

THE MAX

Hawk Girl Versus Guide

I've only attempted The Max several times but I've been able to beat it more than once so I decided to post this guide to help people deal with any of the 24 characters in the game when playing The Max in Battle Mode. Whenever you select The Max you are pitted against 10 random opponents who are all set to Very Hard difficulty. You must defeat all 10 of them in a row without ever losing a match, or else you are sent back to the main menu without any retries. It's not too difficult once you get learn how to properly spam Mace Charge, connect some of your Super Moves, and use the :start: button to pause the game into slow motion to help you punish whatever openings the CPU allows you to exploit.

To make The Max easier, you can keep starting it up and exiting out into Battles until you get a lineup of 10 characters you are adamantly sure that you can defeat. These are the more annoying opponents you may want to avoid if necessary, to make this easier to beat:

  • Aquaman
  • Green Lantern
  • Lex Luthor
  • Raven
  • Deathstroke
  • Wonder Woman
  • Batman

The 7 foes mentioned above are completely beatable in The Max using the Hawkgirl method or the Air Born Mace Charge method in the video provided below thanks to AndreFlash83:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djVIduefQTs]Injustice God Among Us - The Max Battle - YouTube[/ame]

However, they tend to have special moves that interrupt your Mace Charge on start-up and all they will do is proceed to hit you with 20 hit combos and punish you for every mistake you make. Certain stages with infinite interactive objects such as Watchtower and Ferris Aircraft may them easier to defeat. Watchtower for example, makes it easy to defeat anybody on The Max, so long as you stay on the right side of the screen and keep tossing the floating monitor robot(jump then :rbbut: ) that keeps pacing by every 8 seconds.

With all of this being said, you can automatically avoid any 1 character you want by selecting that character then quitting out of the Max, now start up the Max again and pick Hawkgirl. You will notice that the character you previously picked will not be in the lineup of 10 foes. Use this to your advantage if you want to avoid meddling opponents such as Wonder Woman, Deathstroke, or Green Lantern. If you struggle against any of the 7 characters you need to avoid listed above, see the Versus guide for them by clicking HERE.

http://www.fightersgeneration.com/newspanels2/hawkgirl-injustice.pngHow to Use Hawk Girl Method

Spamming the Mace Charge

This trick really boils down to spamming her Mace Charge attack which is done by pressing Away, Toward + :ybut:. Hawkgirl will swoop away and lunge toward her opponent with a mace-first attack. It comes out quickly, builds Super Meter fast whether it hits or is blocked, plus does good damage. Although this is the focal point of the strategy, do not 100% rely on the Mace Charge to win some fights, other factors come into play versus specific characters. Some characters will armor right through Mace Charge if they Meter Burn cancel some of their moves.

Using your Super Move

Successfully hitting your Super Move(The Power of Nth) 1-2 times on your opponents is very important when attempting the Max. It's done by pressing :rtbut: + :ltbut: and once inputted, Hawkgirl will rush up to her opponent, grab them, bash them into the air before thrusting back into the canvas. It does around 45% damage, has good reach, and goes through most projectiles or attacks so long as your health isn't too low, it can be interrupted so be careful. Never attempt it if you have a low 1st health bar(silver health). Meter build for your Super will come naturally so long as the CPU beats you up badly, you land your Mace Charge, or if the CPU blocks your mace charge, these are all good things as it helps builds meter. The trickiest part is actually landing the Super Move against the Very Hard CPU opponents. Some opponents will give you obvious openings such as Bane or Solomon Grundy. If you see them throw random punches or grab moves quickly hit RT + LT and you should armor break through their attack, grab them, and proceed to Super them.

For other characters. I suggest slowly walking backwards away from your opponent while spamming the pause button, they will follow you. Wait for them to go for a random punch, kick, or special attack and once you see the start up animation of them attacking, quickly unpause and hit RT + LT to connect a free Super Move.

Other Moves, Interactibles, & Tactics

Some other moves you may want to use is Hawkgirls Flying ability using the :bbut: button. It allows you to pace away from the enemy in the air, dodge projectiles, and get a slight advantage against foes who can shoot projectiles at you. You can use your Mace toss while in the air by press Down, Away + :xbut: to get easy chip damage. This move can also be done at a distance against foes(e.g Cyborg, Sinestro, or Wonder Woman) for damage since they'll likey go for a projectile of their own and fall for the Mace Charge everytime.

Also, the random Stages that you fight on while attempting The Max are very important. If you happen to get Watchtower or Ferris Aircract, use the unlimited interactibles such as the floating robot monitor at the Aircraft, or the large gray airplane part on the left-side of the Ferris Aircraft. Jump up and fly with :bbut: to lure the opponent near the inter-actable then use it on them for easy damage. Wait for the interactive to become usable again, lure them towards it and repeat. This is a luck based strategy but can help against the harder match-ups. Other stages with re-spawning inter-actables include the Flower at Joker's Asylum, the water spitter at Atlantis, and the hover craft car at Metropolis.

THE MAX

Hawkgirl Versus Guide

http://oyster.ignimgs.com/mediawiki/apis.ign.com/injustice-gods-among-us/0/0c/New_Ares_Icon.pngVersus Ares

Difficulty: ★★

Strategy: So long as he behaves, Ares should fall for the Mace Charge like the majority of the cast. He is a projectile character however, so this meas you will need to find a way to connect a Mace Charge on him, possibly close up. Once you do, quickly dash up close to him and input Mace Charge as he awakes, if timed properly you'll nail him with it again. From here resume the spamming. Be aware of the swords and axes he loves to shoot at you when you attempt Mace Charge. If you're too far or at mid-range he will punish you with them so play a close game and you should win this one with enough successful hits.

http://oyster.ignimgs.com/mediawiki/apis.ign.com/injustice-gods-among-us/3/35/Bane_Icon.pngVersus Bane

Difficulty:

Strategy: Bane is very easy to defeat with Hawkgirl so you definitely want him to be in you lineup of 10 opponents when attempting The Max. Simply spam Mace Charge over and over against him. Most of the time he will just keep blocking it. Keep chipping away at his health until he goes down. He may jump over the mace Charge, but you'll have plenty of time to attempt it again and start another string of blocks. Every so often he will do a Meter Burn Dropkick into Backbreaker to you. If this happens do your best to continue the Mace Charge right after and avoid getting put into a corner. His Meter Burns shouldn't be an issue so long as you get lots of chip damage on him ahead of time.

Difficulty: ★★

Strategy: Rarely should you lose to him. He will shoot lighting at the ground but most of your time will be spent in the air spamming Mace Charge. You also shouldn't be too affected by his Power Ability that puts electric balls around him. Spam until he's dead and avoid corners. An easy fight you'll want to have when attempting The Max

Strategy: Overall she's easy since she doesn't have a practical answer to Mace Charge, but avoid her Cat Dash because it stops your Charge and she will combo you like a feline freak. if she behaves it's an easy fight though but fight cautiously against her because she does have a whip after all. But spamming safely should be good enough to beat her.

http://oyster.ignimgs.com/mediawiki/apis.ign.com/injustice-gods-among-us/1/1a/Cyborg_Icon.pngVersus Cyborg

Difficulty: ★★

Strategy: His Nova Blaster will commonly interrupt your Mace Charge so do it up close. Hope he whiffs other attacks on wake up and continue to spam. If he keeps shooting Nova Blasters at you, then use it as a way to gain meter then capitalize with your Super Move. If any interactive items are around be sure to use them because Cyborg can be annoying if he doesn't want to fall for Mace Charge.

http://oyster.ignimgs.com/mediawiki/apis.ign.com/injustice-gods-among-us/c/cc/Doomsday_Icon.pngVersus Doomsday

Difficulty: ★★

Strategy: Supposedly an easy fight if you just keep focusing on Mace Charge but there are 2 annoying things about Doomsday. He has an "Iron Skin" ability that he will use that will make it impossible to know him down. If he corners you, you will likely lose the fight because he will pummel you dead near a wall. Keep the fight in the middle and spam Mace Charge. Use your Super Move if needed, but Doomsday is a wild card because he can surprise you if nothing really goes in your favor.

http://oyster.ignimgs.com/mediawiki/apis.ign.com/injustice-gods-among-us/5/59/Flash_Icon.pngVersus The Flash

Difficulty: ★★

Strategy: He has no projectiles so spamming Mace Charge will put you in an advantage. However, when going for Mace Charge he will possibly punish it with his Lighting Charge on start up. This is why you want to only mace Charge him on wake up. Go for it at a distance or up close. Sometimes he will sit there and block Mace Charge, which is a good thing since it will build meter. But you want to keep him defending because he has a nasty 20-hit combo that can straight demoralize you. Two or more of those combos and you're looking at an upset as Flash is actually a fairly easy win using this method.

http://oyster.ignimgs.com/mediawiki/apis.ign.com/injustice-gods-among-us/c/c7/Green_Arrow_Icon.pngVersus Green Arrow

Difficulty: ★★

Strategy: Another easy fight so long as you know how to deal with projectile foes. Green Arrow loves to spam arrow shots, some may even freeze you. Jump over them and try to et close to Green Arrow before spamming Mace Charge. Rush up to Green Arrow as he's down, then input it again as he gets up. He will likely go for a slide attack or etc. leaving him open to your Charge every time until he's defeated.

http://oyster.ignimgs.com/mediawiki/apis.ign.com/injustice-gods-among-us/4/47/Harley_Quinn_Icon.pngVersus Harley Quinn

Difficulty: ★★

Strategy: Slightly annoying fight if you don't properly do Mace Charge in the right spots. If you're too far away she will shoot you with her pistols and it will interrupt your Mace Charge. It's best to perform the Charge up close. After a while she will go for a dropkick against you but luckily your Mace Charge will usually win the tug of war. If she gets a pistol shot on you prepare to be combo'ed, badly. Don't let her get too many pistol shots on you and you'll get the win. Stick to doing the mace Charge close and you will win with a slight advantage.

http://oyster.ignimgs.com/mediawiki/apis.ign.com/injustice-gods-among-us/f/f6/Hawkgirl_Icon.pngVersus Hawkgirl(Mirror Match)

Difficulty: ★★

Strategy: Rare matchup. If you keep selecting Hawkgirl over and over you'll probably never face her in The Max. But if somehow you do, just mace Charge spam her. She will likely block it but you can beat her through chip damage. She may even go for the move too but ultimately it shouldn't matter. This is a fairly easy fight but if she starts to fly into the air and throw maces at you be sure to dodge them until she comes back down. Resume Mace Charge spam from there until you win.

http://oyster.ignimgs.com/mediawiki/apis.ign.com/injustice-gods-among-us/6/64/Joker_Icon.pngVersus The Joker

Difficulty:

Strategy: Another trivial fight, you'll want to hope that Joker appears in your Max lineup. Joker will try to shoot you during your mace Charge but it will hardly affect you. He will use his crowbar and pipes often, but your mace Charge will overwhelm him in the end. Just mindlessly spam Mace Charge against Joker. He will have no true answer against it. Just avoid his pie in the face Super Move and this will be another easy win for you.

http://oyster.ignimgs.com/mediawiki/apis.ign.com/injustice-gods-among-us/c/c8/New_Killer_Frost_Icon.pngVersus Killer Frost

Difficulty: ★★

Strategy: An easier version of Aquaman, but can still be troublesome if you don't hit Mace Charge on her properly. Killer Frost has a projectile that she will shoot at you if you go for Mace Charge in mid-range, so attempt the Charge up close. Get a hit then attempt another on on her up close and she gets up. Beware of her Super Move, if she goes for it simply jump and hit :bbut: to take flight and avoid the ice spikes from the ground.

http://oyster.ignimgs.com/mediawiki/apis.ign.com/injustice-gods-among-us/4/4d/Nightwing_Icon.pngVersus Nightwing

Difficulty: ★★

Strategy: Easy matchup. Nightwing will fall for the constant Mace Charge spam most of the time. He can be a bit feisty with his ground spark projectile or talon attacks, but overall you should be fine. Try performing the Mace Charge from a distance at first to avoid him clipping you at punishing you with annoying combos. Then just spam from there.

http://oyster.ignimgs.com/mediawiki/apis.ign.com/injustice-gods-among-us/0/04/Shazam_Icon.pngVersus Shazam

Difficulty:

Strategy: Simple fight because Shazam will usually just keep eating your Mace Charge, he has his own special moves that can interrupt you, but not without hurting himself in the process. Just spam Mace Charge like crazy and 9 times out of 10 you will beat him. You want Shazam to appear in your line-up for The Max, too easy to pass up.

http://oyster.ignimgs.com/mediawiki/apis.ign.com/injustice-gods-among-us/3/32/Sinestro_Icon.pngVersus Sinestro

Difficulty: ★★

Strategy: Slightly annoying because he can spam gold projectile balls at you. So Mace Charge up close to him just like you would other projectile characters. Rush him, then repeat the Mace Charge again. If you're lucky he'll go for a wake-up attack only to taste another Mace Charge from you. Spend most of this fight crouch blocking then Charge when you feel you can bypass his shots. Also avoid his falling rock move. You must be blocking while standing in order to guard it.

http://oyster.ignimgs.com/mediawiki/apis.ign.com/injustice-gods-among-us/5/5f/Solomon_Grundy_Icon.pngVersus Solomon Grundy

Difficulty:

Strategy: Solomon Grundy will basically try to grab you most of the fight, or throw at random normals, in other words, another pushover fight thanks to Mace Charge spam. Spam Mace Charge and you should win without too many problems. If he does his Super, jump up and hit :bbut:. Glide away from until it dissipates because you don't want him to grab you.

http://oyster.ignimgs.com/mediawiki/apis.ign.com/injustice-gods-among-us/b/ba/Superman_Icon.pngVersus Superman

Difficulty:

Strategy: Superman is one of the easiest characters to beat in The Max when spamming Mace Charge. Everytime you do it he'll either block it or get hit when trying to perform a punch or grab move. He may be lucky enough to get you in a big combo, but the next chance you recover quickly resume the Mace Charge attack again until he's down. I strongly suggest you get Superman in your lineup of 10 opponents in The Max, because he's basically a free win.

Conclusion

I've beaten The Max quite a few times and honestly, you don't always have to completely rely on an easy top 10 lineup to win. You don't need to always have 10 easy opponents to face, but it's best that if you happen to get a lineup with difficult characters, make sure they're some of the earlier 1st-3rd opponents or so. You want all of the easier opponents to be the later ones to ensure your victory. Also I strongly suggest you make sure that the 10th opponent that appears as the game zooms out during the lineup demo, is someone that you feel is really easy to beat such as Superman or Joker. You don't want to spend 15-20min working through the Max just to lose to a difficult 10th opponent. A nice ideal example of a lineup for the Hawkgirl method to me would be:

1st Ares

2nd Green Arrow

3rd Solomon Grundy

4th Black Adam

5th Shazam

6th Catwoman

7th The Joker

8th Bane

9th Nightwing

10th Superman

The MajinLegend, I'm going to copy/paste your info into the OP of this thread later today, so after it's done, if you want to delete your posts so it's not displayed twice, go ahead.

I deleted the 2 Reserved posts with the random letters I typed. However, the rest of my guide is perfect. The solution on TA thats linked to this guide goes straight to post# 8 where I need it to be. Everything is fine the way it is.

The 7 Hard matchup characters you added to your guide look great. I am leaving the repeated match-ups for TA users who happen to click on the link and read through all 24 match-ups. It's easier so that they don't have to scroll back up to find that the other annoying 7 characters versus guides for Hawgirl.

Thanks

I want to add a note about Luthor.

Do not mace charge him while he is on the ground, you'll eat a wake-up charge attack every time.

What does work against him is doing a charge that he blocks and than spamming after the blocked move. He will continue to block, sometimes letting you drain his entire health bar. Again the key is mace charge being blocked.

So i notice all these posts but erm....Have any of you actually managed to beat it yet? I've been too busy online to even touch any of the single player modes yet. And to be honest this just looks so unfun and luck based it hurts.

Yea I beat it, I didn't write a guide but this looks fantastic, I wish I had this when I was going through it, would've saved me some headache. Great work guys, and good luck to all Ultimate Battler hunters

I got it. The most honest thing anyone with this achievement can tell you is too keep trying. Eventually the CPU cuts you a break.

I'd say delete the characters from your list that I've already added because it's redundant. Or, if you'd rather keep it all, make a separate thread for it or put it in a spoiler because a guide within a guide doesn't make sense to me.

Well the only characters you brought over from my guide to yours was

Wonder Woman

Raven

Lex Luthor

Green Lantern

Deathstroke

Batman

Aquaman

All of the other 17 characters I don't see you copy/paste anywhere. You only did the 7 Top annoying ones to face as Hawkgirl, which is why I kept it the way it was because it was more comprehensive for my link to it. There's a link to this(starts on post #8) guide on TA that leads them to it and what happens when people look for Wonder Woman or Batman when it's actually located a few posts above? It will be easier for them to find what they're looking for if i don't delete it, even though from here it would seem redundant. Would you rather me just delete the aforementioned 7 annoying characters I just mention from my guide that way they dont appear twice? But keep the other 17 of course.

EDIT: I removed the 7 characters you pasted from my guide. I only left the other 17. Check to make sure all is right. If you need me to add or edit anything else to this collaborative project let me know. Just be sure to paste this under your Lex Luthor strategy:

Yeah, I didn't add the other 17 because it's not necessary. If the guide says you really only have to be cautious of 7 characters, then those are the only characters I'm going to outline in the guide in case someone can't get rid of them. If the other 17 aren't as much of a problem, there's no need to detail how to fight against them.

Either way, if you choose to keep it that way, it still looks good.
