Introduction

Zumba Fitness: Core is the third Zumba game for Xbox 360 and is a great game for quick Gamerscore as well as getting a good workout. You can easily earn around 500 Gamerscore in the first two hours of play. Everything in the game is easy with the exception of the Locksmith achievement which may require three or more attempts on a few particular songs to earn 5 stars.

Step 1: Make a Goal

Go to Progress Tracker. Goals. New Goal. Accept the default goal of 250 calories. Note that the calorie tracking in this game is sporadic. Some songs will only give 10 calories, while classes in which the Kinect is staring at a chair for an hour can give over 800 calories.

Step 2: Create Four Playlists

Select the Full Class option. Create Custom Class. Choose your slot and go to Create. Add a song and save your playlist. Repeat three more times.

Step 3: Complete All Tutorials in Learn the Steps Mode

For each of the six dance styles you need to earn checkmarks on all four steps. When a step begins, raise your right hand to switch from Slow speed to Normal speed. Earn the Zumba rank (3 out of 3 bars light up) five times in a row for the announcer to tell you that you did great, at which point it is safe to back out and switch steps.

Step 4: Classes

Under Full Classes you will need to complete a Short class (~20 minutes), Mid-Length class (~40 minutes), and Full-length class (~60 minutes). Complete one of these classes with a second person in view of the Kinect to earn the Zumba Duo achievement. If you want you can set a chair or some other object in front of the Kinect for all classes and go do something else.

Step 5: Locksmith Achievement

This achievement will take some effort and skill as you need to earn 5 stars on 20 specific songs. A general tip for earning 5 stars is to pay close attention to any moves that are consistently registering below 3 bars and experiment with adjusting your movement. Over-exaggerating your movements as well as moving slightly ahead of the instructor can make all the difference between consistent 2's and consistent 3's. The songs that unlock bonus videos are the following:

Ain't nothing wrong

Balans

Crazy love

Dancing with myself

Desert Groove

Drop it low

For you

Jhoom

La bomba

Lift ya leg up

Magalenha

Mirage

Nyana

Paris (ooh la la)

Sugar plum fairy

Surf to the world

Taki country

The trip

Vamos pa'la pista

Zumba

Step 6: World Traveler Achievement

Playing in all venues should happen naturally except for the Elephant Palace which unlocks by earning 3 or more stars on the 5 "Core" songs in the game: Allegria Pa Zumbar, Drop It Low, Magalenha, Paris (ooh la la),and Sugar Plum Fairy.

Step 7: Total Dancer Achievement

Earn at least 1 star on every song in the game.

Step 8: Duo Stars Achievement (Second player needed)

Two players need to earn 10 stars on a song - 5 stars each. A good amount of space is required. An easy song to attempt is Jamming.

Step 9: Zumba Aficianado Achievement

This and Completionist for earning all achievements should now be all that is left in the game. Let Full Classes run until you have played over 12 hours in one month of time (spanning months is allowed).
