Introduction:

Welcome to Home Run Stars! This game is a surprisingly enjoyable baseball game. The game features three unique stadiums that each have their own funky twist to it as you try to rack up points by hitting the different targets. The achievements are all fairly straightforward and most will be obtained by accident through the games main mode "League Play". The achievement Almost Famous is glitched for the majority of people and that may cause you some frustrations, however there are ways to get around the glitch; however it will take extra time, and luck.

 

The Ins and Outs:

I just want to explain to you how to game works and the insights of it, since the game does a terrible job at that. The point of the game in a nutshell is earn as high of a score as you can to defeat your opponents. Each item at the back of the stadium is a target, the further away the target the more points it will give you for hitting it. There are also multiplier targets, which are flat squares with a baseball of them, if you can hit them, they will create a multiplier from 2-5 on a certain target; hit the target, and it will multiply your hit by that amount giving you a lot of points. There are also glowing circle targets that I call "card targets". When you hit a Card Target it will give you a random card that will give you an item or target to give you a ton of points (usually around 50,000+). The line of sight is where you are aiming your hit, and it can be controlled by changing your stance ever so slightly. You can also control the ball while it is in mid-air by leaning, back, side to side, or forward.

 

League Play:

Start playing through the League Mode of the game and get some practice, this is where you will earn the majority of your achievements. Complete all the achievements in this section of the game and beat all nine opponents.

 

Online:

You will need to go online to win Duel and Derby games to earn the Hat Trick achievement. Once you do that, continue to Duel to complete the Avatar FameStar challenge for the Almost Famous achievement.

 

Conclusion:

Overall, this game is a pretty straightforward 400:gsicon:, and although it can be frustrating at times, I found it a blast to play. If you completing the game and got by the glitched achievement, congratulations!

Lit up the Ferris Wheel in the Carnival Stadium.

 

You will need to hit the ferris wheel in the back of the Carnival Stadium. Just load this up on league play. Set up your pose to aim in the direction of the ferris wheel, and hit a "perfect hit". You can lean backwards to help the ball get more air and lean to make sure you hit the ferris wheel.

Awoke the Dragon in the Dragon's Den.

 

You will need to hit the dragons head and he will awake. You will need to hit a "perfect" hit to reach his distance.

Hit the Pirate Ship in Buccaneer Bay.

 

Hit a "perfect" hit, and hit the pirate ship. You can hit anywhere on the top of the ship.

Knocked down 5 infield targets within the same game.

 

Anytime you hit a late or early hit, lean in the direction of the closest infield target. Just hit down 5 of them in a game.

Erupted both volcanoes in Buccaneer Bay.

 

The volcanoes are on each far end of the field. You will need to hit a "perfect" hit, and make sure you have the line of sight on the end of a side. Hit both of them.

Beat Eric the Rookie in the Carnival.

This is the third opponent for League Play, and the third opponent on the Carnival field. Achieve a bronze medal while playing against him and you will have beat him.

Revealed the treasure in Buccaneer Bay.

 

On the pirate ship, below each closed sail, is a wheel. Hit "perfect" hits and hit all three of the wheels to open the sails. When all three sails have been opened the treasure shall be revealed and will unlock the achievement.

Hit a 5X multiplier in the Carnival.

 

You will need to hit a multiplier target (the big squares with baseballs in the center) and hope that it creates a 5x multiplier. You have all game to hit the target, and when you do it will multiply your hit by 5 as well as unlock this achievement.

Completed an Avatar FameStar Challenge.

 

This will be the first achievement you will unlock since playing the game for the first time is an Avatar FameStar Challenge.

Found and hit the gold treasure trophy in Buccaneer Bay.

 

Once you have started up a game on Buccaneer Bay, you will notice a lot of chests around the center of the outfield. One of the chests on the front row will have a glowing skull on it. Hit the skull and it will pop open the chest with the spinning gold treasure. Next, you are going to need to hit the spinning treasure. Both of these hits will need to be "good" hits, so they don't go to far. Remember to lean to make the ball go where you need it to go while it's in mid-air.

Won a gold score medal at the end of a Home Run League match.

 

You will need to beat any player in League Play with a gold medal. If you play the first rival (Erik The Rookie) on the Carnival Stadium, you should do this with ease. Just make sure to maximize your score by aiming for the targets in the back. And if you really need to, hit some epic homeruns.

Hit 5 consecutive balls in Home Run League Mode

 

Just hit 5 balls in a row without getting a strike. This is all about timing, there is no need to swing super fast to try to hit the ball far, everything in this game is about timing. So I recommend just hitting normally and focus on timing, if you hit to hard it may not even register you.

Scored 500,000 points in a Home Run League match.

 

Timing is everything. Try to get as many "perfect" hits as you can, and aim for the big point targets. If you mess up and only get a "good" hit, make sure you hit the multipliers or reward-giving targets to help you earn as many points as you possibly can. Remember to lean in each direction as explained in the roadmap to help bring your ball where you want it to go. Also, hit "epic" home runs by leaning back on a "perfect" hit. This will make the ball fly far enough so it goes past every target.

Completed all Avatar FameStar bonus challenges.

 

*Note: This achievement is glitched! It can still be unlocked however with patience, although you will need to do more than the achievement asks you to do. If you complete all the tasks listed below, and the FameStar challenges pop up saying you completing them, and the achievement still does not unlock, you will need to view the weekly FameStar challenges. Completing the weekly challenges on top of the regular ones has been known to work almost 100% of the time eventually, however certain weeks work better than others. The weeks that seem to have unlocked it for most people is the weeks that include shooting 25 rockets in dragon's den, and Score 300,000 Points in Derby. Goodluck.

 

You need to complete the following tasks to earn all of the Avatar FameStar bonus challenges.

 

• Invite a friend to an Xbox Live Duel and throw a Perfect Pitch - 50FP
  
• Score an Epic Home Run in any stadium - 50FP
  
• Activate and score 3 multipliers in a stadium - 75FP
  
• Hit the Jumbotron 10 times in any stadium - 100FP
  
• Play 10 Duel matches wearing the Franchise Player costume - 100FP
  
• Anger the Dragon by hitting him 3 times in a game - 100FP
  
• Score 2,000,000 points while wearing the King of Home Runs costume - 150FP
  
• Earn 5,000,000 total points - 150FP
  
• Play 25 Xbox Live Duel games - 200FP
  
• Play Home Run Stars for the first time - 25FP
  

 

* To get a Perfect Pitch, you must be in a Duel match - as the pitcher, select 1 of the 3 pitch types, then throw the ball using your arm while the meter slider is in the small green part of the meter.

 

* To get an Epic Home Run, get a Perfect Hit and then aim the ball out of the stadium without hitting any targets.

 

* To Anger the Dragon, get 3 Perfect Hits and then aim each at the Dragon head, must be done in one game.

 

* The Franchise Player costume is unlocked for anyone that is FameStar level "Up & Coming" or above; you must go to the FameStar Rewards menu and then select the costume and wear it.

 

* The King of Home Runs costume is unlocked for anyone that is FameStar level "Headliner" or above; you must go to the FameStar Rewards menu and then select the costume and wear it.

 

* The 5,000,000 points is cumulative over all games, make sure to wear the King of Home Runs costume for at least 2,000,000 of it, to save time.
