This game is just... terrible

I've been playing for a while now, and honestly, it is just a terrible game.

It handles poorly, and even at a high level, if you get surrounded... that's it... game over!

I feel I've completely wasted my time on this, as it is just a joke. Why does chuck handle like a tosser? Why when rolling does he literally take 2 seconds before he can walk again?

What has driven me to the edge is the fight in chapter 6-2, and then trying to get rebecca safe home... virtually impossible IMO

I'd be happy to take any tips for the game, but all the tips I've read didn't work

Feel free to bitch about me for this thread, but I know there are plenty out there who also think the game is awful!

These types of games aren't for everyone. I have a friend who only plays first person shooters and just kept getting frustrated with this and the original dead rising. The only advice I have is that after you've played the game long enough, it gets easier. When I first started playing, I would always run into zombies. Now I can run from one end of the map to the other without being touched or having to kill a zombie. It just takes practice being able to get used to the controls. I will agree that sometimes it seems like, there is a delay between the button press on the controller and the action on the screen. Don't give up!

for the fight in 6-2, I found the easiest method is to use a defiler and use it's jump attack and immediately run away, rinse and repeat.

Getting Rebecca safely back is just a matter of using the golf carts, being careful not to hit too many zombies on your way, and switching to a different cart when it starts smoking.

It's not exactly the best game, but the poor handling is usually to emphasize the survival horror. I mean granted at low levels and the beginning you literally have nothing and no real way of self defense but eventually you'll get better at it, and as you level up Chuck you'll find the game gets a little easier, and if you still have trouble surviving find the gun store to increase your odds. Also never forget to take Orange Juice, it's your best healing item.

Just keep trying and practicing, you'll eventually nail it.

The joy of the sequel is if you've having problems or finding it difficult, you can have another player join you online and help you through, literally guaranteeing the best ending and everything. That way they can lead you through or they'll cover your back.

I found saving and escorting Rebecca in 6-2 to be very easy if you use the shortcuts and other survivors.

When I got to that part I got the message for the tape it or die crew straight away so I went and saved them and then armed them with sniper rifles and collected the leadership magazine from the bingo hall. Then I just went into the underground through the staircase in the northeastern part of Palisades Mall and saved at the save point just down the stairs. I saved mostly just so I could make sure that I got the final hit on Dwight so he doesnt turn out orange in the notebook. Seems like psycos do that when a following survivor gets the final blow.

When the battle was over I simply grabbed Rebecca and went back the way I came and used the shortcut from Palisades Mall to Royal Flush Plaza and then just ran for the safe house. If you do this be sure to put Rebecca down and leave her behind a closed door so you can rescue the Tape It or Die crew before you rescue her, otherwise you might not get the Combo Cards from the survivors and the potential Combo Cards of leveling up.

I know this is old, but really?

This game is not even close to hard.

Did you not level up at all, or have healing items on on you all the time? People seem to think Orange Juice is the best, but that heals 4, while Steak heals 6.

Not make combo weapons?

I'm also confused by your mention of bad controls, I just can't agree, everything controls just fine.

Even survivors are easy, just run ahead of them, and mash the Y button, they will never stop or get hit by zombies.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but this just confuses me. It'd be like if someone said the Fable games were hard. Admittedly this series isn't that easy.

This just reminds me of the people who say the Dark Souls series is too hard, so they are bad games

They aren't hard, you just need patience, is that something people don't have anymore?

A game could not be your taste, but that doesn't mean it's bad game.

Hehehe, to each his own. I personally enjoyed the game, except for the massively shitty achievements.

"Hey, achievement hunter! Would you like to get f**ked?"

"Not particula-"

"-GREAT! Now do everything in this game! Don't forget to keep a checklist to keep track of your checklists to keep track of your progress towards each under-rewarding achievement!" *pats player on back*

I'm a huge fan of the Dead Rising series. The only one I have yet to play is DR3. I've completed every Dead Rising game in the series besides the PC version & DR3 which I don't plan on getting. However I do plan on getting Dead Rising 2 & Dead Rising 2 Off The Record for the PC if all goes well.

1. It does not handle poorly at high levels you can move very fast. There is a mixed drink called Quickstep were you can move like Flash. Mix jelly beans and milk for it. At high levels I can own a crowd of zombies with just fighting moves. Look them up like the drop kick, power fist, and smash skills. Keep in mind Chuck is smarter then zombies so he can look for a high spot to get out of a bad situation. The roll move might seem slow but it is effective. Chuck can take no damage while rolling.

2. This game may not be for you. I'm not trying to sound mean either. Bayonetta and Vanquish were not for me despite rave critic and user reviews. If you want to quit or keep playing that is up to you. We can't force you to keep playing.

You are virtually invincible when you carry Rebecca so I'm confused by this part of your post.

My advice. Level up, carry some orange juice as it won't spoil, carry some combo weapons. A knife and boxing gloves apart aren't much use but combine them and use drop kicks and rolling and you will be unstoppable. Try to save often and never ever go into a phycho boss fight without saving first. Even at max level and good weapons Chef Antoine can be a bastard at times. In my opnion he was the hardest boss in the game. He had that cheap smothering move, was a threat at a distance and up close, and could actually heal himself. I found it was best to run around the kitchen, let him heal a little then damage him and repeat.

I've 100%ed the first and Case 0, and Case West. I'm working on 1000 in this right now. Personally i thought this game was a huge improvement over the first. It improved and fixed the small problems that were in the first. This is an amazing game. I love the series. I've beaten this game a bunch of times but don't have 1000 cause of a few minor stuff to do still. Wear all clothes, paint over all posters, etc.
