Wolfpack XP Tips

Note: This info came from our sister site from THIS post. Credit goes to Eternal21. It has been extremely useful in learning how to properly play wolfpack and level up by yourself.

Here are a few tips for people to get the most out of their Wolfpack sessions. With a bit of practice, you should have at least 4 minutes left on the clock when you finish round 25. Without online bonuses working I was making 42,000-43,000 points per round, which I think translates to a little over 6,500XP per round. If you top it off with the 25% bonus you can buy from Abstergo store (called Abstergo VIP or something like that, in multiplayer menu), you'll have over 8,000XP. I believe you need 525,000XP for level 55, so you'll need to play about 60 games. You can play approximately 4.5 games per hour, so you're looking at approximately 13 hours of play.

General Tips

1. Play on Standard difficulty. You'll make more money, because you'll be able to complete games faster.

2. Play by yourself. You'll make just as much XP as if you were playing with another person. Probably more, because you'll be able to finish faster, since you won't need to wait for them to line up their kill, and they won't mess up yours.

3. Stick to a single map only (I personally played on Saint-Pierre, but a lot of people are recommending Plantation), that way you'll learn best routes and enemy spawns.

4. Make sure you do all your kills from hidden positions. It doubles your kill score. You are hidden when your character turns black and white (it means he blends in with the crowd). When you are hidden, a little sign saying '2x' will show up in the bottom right.

5. Make sure you get full approach bonus for each kill (it's the little 'volume' bar on top of enemy avatar in lower right corner). Full approach gives you 450 extra points for the kill (not sure about the number exactly, but it's a lot). To get full approach, you need to basically either stand or only walk (not run) while you can see the enemy. In fact if you have your rumble enabled, your controller will vibrate when you are running in view of enemy. If that happens your approach meter goes down, and you'll need to slow down to a walk, in order for it to start filling up again.

6. Make sure you get full focus bonus for each kill (for this you need to tag your enemy, and wait for the circle around the square on top of his head to reach full circle. You get 150 extra points for Full Focus.

If you do all of the above, you should be getting 1050 per kill. Don't use any range weapons, or air assassinations, just use the regular attack.

Putting it into Practice

Here's an example kill:

1. Target is standing in a crowd.

2. Run only if he's not visible, then start walking when you see him (you can hold :cross: to walk faster).

3. Lock the target with :l1: (a little padlock will appear on top of his head), approach him from the back.

4. You can stand right behind him, almost touching, so that your character blends in (turns black/white). That will give you 2x Hidden Bonus.

5. Wait for the bar on top of his picture to reach the end, for full Approach Bonus.

6. Wait for the circle around the square on top of his head to fill for Focus Bonus.

7. Press :square: to kill.

You should get 1050 points for that kill. You do the same thing, when the enemies are walking, except you hide in the crowd.

Question Mark Enemies:

When you have those enemies with question marks on top of their heads, you can either wait till the last second, and one of them will reveal himself as the right one (will start walking away, or turn from black/white into a color), or the easiest way is just toss firecrackers once your approach is full and you are hidden for full bonus. Then kill the one that's still standing.

Multiple Real Enemies

When you have 2 real enemies standing in a single group (you can tell by number of targets listed in lower right corner), use smoke bomb instead. That will stun both enemies, and let you kill them both, without any of them stunning you back.

Since you only get smoke bomb at level 48, here's another tip for dealing with multiple enemies by using knives:

Chest Rounds

During chest rounds, whenever possible, kill enemies from a hiding spot. Otherwise settle for approach and focus bonus only. Remember - the round will end when you earn a certain amount of points, so you're better off letting a thief steal for a few extra seconds while you are lining up your 1050pts kill, than run up to him and kill him outright for a measly 100pts.

Infection Rounds

Infection rounds are trickier - with practice you can still make use of hiding spots, approach bonuses (make sure you don't kill AI in view of another), but for starters, just take out the enemies, and don't worry about the score.

Sync Rounds

Here's a pro tip. You can get approach and hidden bonus during sync kills. Just make sure you approach the target from the other side of the circle he's standing in. In other words, keep slowly edging into the crowd, until you turn black and white and a little '2x' sign shows in bottom right corner. Then move forward for the sync kill square to pop up.

Time

If you do everything as described above, you will never have to worry about time. In fact that first 1050pts kill will get you through 3-4 rounds in a single shot. I never even had those little 'extra time' guys pop up after a while. Don't bother with them. You get extra time when you move on to the new round, and the fastest way to advance to new round is by getting high scores for each kill. So take your time to line up a perfect kill. You can easily get one 1050pts kill every minute. You'll never get ten 100pts kills in the same timeframe. That's why people who run around like crazy, instead of taking their time always fail.

Target Sees You

Sometimes a target will notice you, and a little red text bubble will show up on top of him. It happens if you run in his view, or approach from the front. You can try to move away from his sight, which sometimes works to get his suspicions down, especially in earlier rounds. But if you're already next to him it's probably too late. Wait till the last moment (after a while you'll learn how long you can wait), and kill him when the text in his bubble fills up. You generally want to approach your target carefully so it doesn't happen. That's why playing on the same map over an over helps, since you know the spots where targets will be standing, and you can keep running until you actually turn the corner to reach them.
