Alien: Isolation - 100% Collectibles Guide – ID Tags, Archive Logs & Nostromo Logs

 

Introduction

 

Alien: Isolation has a total of 211 collectibles, most of which are required for 100% completion. These can be found within the story, breaking down into the following categories:

  • 151 Archive Logs
  • 50 ID Tags
  • 10 Nostromo Logs

 

They are spread throughout the 18 missions within the main story and collecting all of them will unlock 5 achievements worth 140 GS, as follows:

  • A Record of Disaster – Collected an archive log – 10
  • The Missing – Collected an ID tag – 10
  • Voices of Sevastopol – Collected 100 archive logs – 40
  • The Taken – Collected all ID tags – 40
  • Archivist – Collected all Nostromo logs – 40

 

Notes:

  • - Annotations are on-screen to help with finding videos.
  • Check your total collectible progress at any time by pressing the back button, and using the bumpers to scroll through categories.
  • Make sure to reach a savepoint before exiting for the collectibles to be saved.
  • You are also free to replay any levels in any order to find the collectibles that you've missed!

Do you know if the achievement for never dying can be obtained simply by immediatly loading your last save? I am going to assume no....it will still be void seeing as how collectables are still saved upon dying or at least im pretty sure they are....it showed I had an audio log from the area right before I died in. Only reason I ask is because I think both Bioshock games had an achievement like this and it was so simple to do because all you needed to do was just reload.

Probably won't know until more people start beating the game and can comment on that.

We have to wait and see, but I don't think it would work. This games save system works a little differently as there are no checkpoints, and when you die you are forced to reload your save.

I think that if you reload manually (quickly) before the death animation finishes you are safe (there is no save icon in the upper right corner when you do that). For instance, this works well with the Hide. Run. Survive. achievement even if the Alien catches you. That's because apart from the individual saves for each mission and the two checkpoints, the game also has a progression save. I think that's used to store this kind of information. Unfortunately I let some humans kill me without realizing I'm on my main profile so I'm not sure I'll unlock the One Shot achievement. I replaced the progression save with a backup and it doesn't seem to affect the collectibles, and I even replayed from the previous checkpoint. Until I finish the game I can't say if it definitely works.

It almost looks like your are going to have to backtrack to get everything. Don't know when you get the plasma cutter but running across a lot of vents that need them. Yeah, I'm about ready to call it quits on this game's collectibles. So frustrating.

I'm up to Mission 13 personally, I'm getting there, I'm getting there.

Your not a quitter Maka! Your guides are the only ones I use. You have made me a respectable trials player. I have faith in you :)

 

I will make it through them by Sunday Night EST. Just not really looking forward to it. :p

 

Just a little unmotivated because it's not likely for these videos to get enough traffic for it to be worth my time and stress levels.

 

It'll be exhausting and then I gotta get started on The Evil Within, Killer Instinct S2 & Sunset Overdrive next week.

Maka and I, we work "hard" to find all Collectibles for the User, We compare with each other and share our Information with each other. Currently we are "together" at Mission 10 and today (germany 11 clock in the morning atm) we / i try to reach 13-15 and compare (different time zones, germany <> Canada, i wake up, maka go sleeping, you know what i mean)

 

The "Problem" is, Alien Isolation is the first Game since Years which is really hard to search through and find Collectibles, the Alien you know, is so frustrating and demotivate when this fu*** part kill you over and over again when you searching a Mission and you have to replay the last 10-30min again...... and no one knows whether he has 100% until reach the End / Achievement plops.

 

The other Reason is what Maka say, the copycats.....

Maka brings out aka release M1 & M2, after that, the videos were tons of copied. Maka wait some days before M3 & M4 comes out, no one release a new Video with collectibles. Maka bring M3 & M4 out and the same Copycats Game begins....

 

Why call this Channels "Guide" channels when they searching etc nothing and wait until other Person like Maka and me release content? The better Name is Copycats Channels...

 

That is so frustrating too and sorry for awful english. I go search through Mission 11....

I'm actually trying to find these too, and it is a challenge indeed. If you want we can share what we have. I'm currently at mission 14. From your previous posts it seems that I have an extra ID Tag in mission 5, but I started to label them correctly from mission 8. I am sure I missed one in mission 10, and I guess that is the longest mission in the game...

With regards to the Alien causing havoc during collectable collecting. I noticed that (and there's some spoilers here, so be warned) after the chapter where the alien is supposedly ejected (mission 10 or 11 I think) you can wander around -- using the transit system, elevators, etc. -- previous mission areas completely unmolested by said alien. I went back and claimed the molotov blueprint doing this as I'd missed it earlier. I'm unsure just how many areas you can revisit doing this, but it's way less stressful than hiding in a locker every 60 seconds.

Good to know. I missed the smoke blueprint in chapter two, but it showed up in chapter 6. Weird. Got a question for anybody. What is the proper way to use the scanner for a waypoint?? It says it will also show you where to go. There a green bar that rotates around the edge. But there is also there bars that light up on the bottom??? I get lost easy

the directional lights are for the alien -- the rotating green bar is the objective
