Introduction:

Welcome the the Achievement Guide & RoadMap for Amazon Instant Video App available for the Xbox One, free of charge. For those who are familiar with Amazon Instant Video, it is a service provided to all Amazon Prime members that gives them access to movies and tv shows on multiple devices so long as they can log into their Amazon account. This app will have you watch movies from several different genres, ratings, and a set year in order to earn all eight achievements.

 

The achievements should not take you too long meaning that you should be able to finish this app up in about an hour's time. Let's get to the walkthrough.

 

Important Tip:

You should be fast-forwarding through all of the movies. Tap the http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j401/markv1982/rt.png until it says x128 speed, and go until there is about a minute left in the movie. Make sure your achievements app is snapped, and simply watch until the bars go up. At this point you can rinse and repeat.

 

 

Abbreviated Walkthrough:

In the abbreviated walkthrough I will do my best to guide you through getting the achievements in the most time efficient manner possible. This will have the goal in mind that we do not want to repeat having to go through videos if at all possible.

 

When you first load up the app, you will need to sign into Amazon and will unlock "There's no place like home." Now go ahead and find 10 different films, adding them all to your watchlist to unlock "I'll be back."

 

We will be doing most of the viewing through the film Pain & Gain as it satisfies the following achievements: "Get busy living, or get busy dying." (watching 10 HD films), "Are you not entertained?" (watching 5 action films), "Totally bodacious!" (watching 5 comedy films), "I’m the king of the world!" (watching 5 dramas) and "Seize the day, boys" (5 films that came out in 2013).

 

This leaves us only with watching films that were rated 4.5 or better. See "The best of the best of the best, sir!" for a list of a few movies that can be used.

 

 

Conclusion:

Well there you have it ladies and gents. Another easy app completion for only about an hour of your time. Using Pain & Gain will allow you to skip out in fast-forwarding through too many videos, and using the fast-forward trick will save you hours. Until we Amazon again!

Viewed Home Screen as a signed-in user

 

First thing you will need to do is sign into your Amazon account. Once you have finished this, the achievement will unlock when you get back to the home screen.

Watched 10 titles that are HD capable

 

For this achievement you need to watch a movie that has the HD ribbon going across the top left corner denoting its ability to be watched in HD. You do not actually have to watch the entire movie though. What you should do is press the http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j401/markv1982/rt.png until you get to x128 speed. Allow this to fast-forward until there is about a minute left in the film. Allow the video to play for about 30 seconds, and you should notice the tracker advance meaning you watched one title. What I will suggest is that you have the achievements app snapped while doing this to know when you can restart the movie.

 

As for the movie to choose, Pain & Gain satisfies this achievement, as well as the one for action titles, comedy titles, and drama titles. This means you will need to go through this video 10 times in order to unlock all four achievements.

Watched 5 Action titles

 

You want to watch any movie with "action" in the genre list.

Add 10 Movies/TV shows to Watchlist

 

Simply take any movie or TV show, keeping pressing http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j401/markv1982/Abut.png on it until you get to the final screen where you are prompted to watch now, add to watchlist, or watch trailer. Choosing the second option to add it to your watchlist. You must do this to 10 unique movies/TV shows, but can delete them all out of the watchlist upon completing the achievement.

Watched 5 titles with 4.5 rating or higher

 

For the five titles with a 4.5 rating or higher you are going to need to look at the star rating system. Four and a half stars yellow means the movie was rated 4.5, and as such five yellow stars means it got a 5/5. Only if the movie is rated 4.5 or 5 will the title count toward the achievement.

 

Just for reference the following are a few films with a 4.5 rating or greater:

• Stardust
  
• Star Trek Into Darkness
  
• The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
  
• Batman
  
• Snatch

Can anybody help me, I've watched loads of movies/programs that are 2013, thrillers or dramas yet none of the related achievements have budged from 0%?

same thing happened to me. Got Prime few months ago and can only get 2 achievements that don't involve watching anything. It all stays at 0.

That is strange. I would try contacting the app support in an email. I contacted NBC's app support and they were quick to respond and fairly helpful. Let me know if the problem continues and then we can think about changing the achievements to glitchy/unobtainable.

This is bugged. My last one, Are You Not Entertained? is not increasing. I haven't tried for any in a long time but I had this one left and I was trying it. Seems some update in there bugged it, I presume.

If I remember correctly, there’s a German and UK list that were never added to the site, both with 9 achievements each. Unfortunately, at this point, they won’t be added.
