Definitive Edition

Recommended Posts

Not sure if this info has been posted yet. I was originally under the impression that the new version would act as a DLC for original game owners, but, it's a new 1000G!

With the Division coming out tomorrow I will probably backlog this, but am very excited to replay this game.

It sounds like the original version is to be discontinued on the xbox.com store, so if you want to stack these games grab it now :)

Details: http://news.xbox.com/2016/03/09/ori-blind-forest-definitive-edition-launch-trailer/

It is a new game (not DLC) with 1250 achievement points. Only costs $5 if you own the original. It costs $20 otherwise but also comes with a copy of the original in that case (so 2250 potential achievement points either way). DE has 2 new areas, a new "easy" difficulty, and some other good stuff.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA YESSSSSSSSSSS.

We specifically added that feature to help avoid stupid questions, but I guess with Icarus there's just no avoiding it. It's basically his thing around here to hate everything and be uninformed.

Oh, yes, I am sorry for using another feature which is called a FORUM. What kind of people are you? Do you really think I care that much about everything you do on this website? I don't live on this website. I know about 2% of what I can do here. All I care are the achievement guide and the forum about game I am playing.

Your comment was plain disrespectful as I am probably not the only one who never even took a look at those news, it just look like a bunch of annoying publicity if you don't read what the titles are saying. In life, there are no stupid question, only stupid answer. I could have looked on google about that definitive edition, but I used the forum instead to communicate, so someone would answer, and if someone else is looking for that same information, the answer is there. Voilà.

Did you keep the original after upgrade?

You do. And if you didn't own the original and only buy the DE version, it comes with both.

In life, there are no stupid question, only stupid answer.

There are most definitely stupid questions. That's just something people say to people who ask stupid questions to make them feel good.

Hey Pants has anyone that DIDN'T own the original who purchased the definitive edition confirmed that the original was added to their games library? I tried it on my brother's account (bought him DE, he never owned original) and only the DE shows on his library. He does in fact own the orignal too (bundled with the DE), but the only way to download it was to find a back door to the original's game hub.

Also, shouldnt the DE be its own forum since it has its own separate list and isnt just DLC? Even some of the collectibles have moved to new locations.

You do get both if you only buy the DE version. I don't think it pops up on your install right away though. Probably goes to Ready to Install? Someone tweeted me a picture when he bought it and showed both installing, but he didn't say if he had to do anything special.

I can move it to its own forum, yeah.

Right, possibly another stupid question but plenty of people before release were saying you could lock yourself out.

A) is the upgrade price timed? I own the first, and have never started it.

B) if I upgrade now without ever playing the first, I can't lock myself out of the original 1000 can I?

That's weird. It didnt show up on my brother's ready to install when I bought the DE for him yesterday. It's there now though. :)

Another stupid answer.

I owned the original game, when I was about to buy the definitive edition, it said it was 19.99$. I backed and came back on the page right after and the price refreshed to 4.99$.

^This. If you believe that there are no stupid questions, then, wow.

Could sound stupid to you, not for the one who's asking. If you got nothing intelligent to answer to a question you think is stupid, don't act stupid by answering stupidities. If you believe someone can't ask certain questions because YOU believe they are stupid, you are so damn wrong... You don't know what is good or bad for someone you barely know. Can't choose for them. This is called the magic of hidding behind a screen; I hope you don't go and tell people how stupid they are in real life.

The issue is that if you asked me the same question in person during a conversation, I'd be fine with it. Because the answer wouldn't be one click away at the top of this very page, or a quick google in a new browser tab. On the internet, it's much easier to ask a stupid question, because the answer is readily available. You can educate yourself, answer your own questions. The ignorance you consistently show can't be taken any other way than laziness, and expecting others to do the work for you. I have a very low tolerance for such things.
