Before you pick a faction... (important for achievements)

How long does a typical episode take anyway?

It depends very much on how many missions there are in said episode. It seems to range from 4-8 missions from what I've seen so far. If rushed, you could do an episode in 1-2 hours I'd like to think, but some are going to be longer while others shorter. It's far too easy to get distracted and waste time in menus though..

@Pants, feel free to use any of this if you want.

I decided to put this together after finding a full listing of each faction's episodes in the "Missions" section and thought it might help clear up any confusion as to who has access to what. These are listed in the order found in the "Missions" > "Episodes" section.

For the Romulans it does not matter which side you pick when given the choice, the Episodes you'll participate in remain the same.

I'm playing as federation, I unlocked the Spectre achievement but never unlocked the klingon war story arc achievement. I'm already into the romulan mystery arc. Do I have to complete the klingon episodes too?

Yes, if you still have episodes left in the Klingon Story arc then you won't get the achievement for completing the Klingon Story arc.

I have all 20 on the federation completed. Should I make a klingon character?

No, the Klingon War story arc does not require playing as a Klingon. It sounds like the achievement is just stuck in the Done....Unlocking phase and it should sort itself out soon, hopefully sooner rather than later. I don't think it's necessary but you could always go through the first Klingon episode anyways just to be safe, it's only 5 parts and you'll be doing it anyways if you plan on getting the achievements for it.

Also should mention the Romulan Mystery episode is actually shorter for Klingons. They only have the last 6 missions while the Fed's do all 11.

Thanks for pointing that out. It's funny that when it comes to achievements there's hardly any reason to play the Federation, definitely a major change over how the game was when it initially came out on PC.

  • 3 weeks later...
thats weird. you would think they would put the majority of the faction chieveys for the Feds.

knowing this i'll probably have the Klingon one be my main and switch between that and Romulans.

It'll get worse when they add the "Agents of Yesterday" stuff into the game. It adds a new Original Series Federation faction that not only has the "Klingon War" episode, but also their own "Agents of Yesterday" episode making the normal Fed, in regards to achievements, useless.

Honestly if they wanted people to play each of the factions they should have had a "Reach level 60 with X faction" for each one.
