Introduction:

Welcome to Assassin’s Creed: Origins! After a two year hiatus, Assassin’s Creed is with an all new revamped RPG style combat and progression system. Set in Egypt in 49 B.C.E., nearly 1200 years before the first Assassins Creed, you play as Bayek, one of the last remaining Medjay. You learn about how he and his lover Aya created the League of Hidden Ones which later transformed into the Assassins Creed.

Step 1: Complete the Story + Side Quests:

First order of business is to complete the story. This is where a lot of your time will be spent, because of the game’s leveling mechanic, you’ll need to be a certain level before you attempt the missions as you progress. As such, you will be completing a fair share of side quests to level up and earn better gear. There are no full synchronization objectives to complete this time around (thank god), so just enjoy the game however you want! In this step, you will earn:

  • First Steps
  • I’m Just Getting Started
  • The Sea
  • The Scarab
  • The Hyena
  • The Crocodile
  • The Lizard
  • The Siege
  • Wake Up!
  • Almost There!
  • The End
  • Seven Farmers
  • The Festival
  • You Still Need 8880…

Step 2: Complete all locations

This is where the game turns into kind of a grind. There are many locations all throughout the map, shown as a white question mark, and you must complete each location’s objective(s). There are multiple different types of locations. In this step, you will earn the following:

  • Old Habits
  • Stargazer
  • Master Diver
  • Words of Wisdom
  • Raider of the Lost Tomb
  • I Know My Land
  • Where’s My Black Flag?

Step 3: Mop-Up:

These achievements can be done at anytime and task you with performing various feats during combat or throughout the open world. You can do these at any time provided you have the skills necessary to do them. This may seem like a lot but in reality you can knock a lot of them out in one session.

  • I’m a Legend
  • I’m Done Learning
  • Overheating
  • For Those About to Die
  • Arena
  • Ben-Hur
  • Road Rage
  • The Harder They Fall
  • Slasher
  • The Arrow Whisperer
  • Circle of Life
  • Shadow of Egypt
  • I Can See My House From Here!
  • Set-up Date
  • Reporter
  • Overdesign
  • Archer of the Month
  • BOOM!
  • Rider’s Licence
  • Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
  • Defy Authority
  • Handy Man
  • Roooaaarrrrr!
  • Smash!
  • Free as a Bird
  • Triathlete
  • Run For Your Life!
  • Elementary, My Dear Bayek
  • Namaste

Conclusion:

All in all, Assassins Creed Origins is a fantastic game that provides players with an immersive and vast assassin experience through the beautiful though tumultuous land of Egypt. The game is not too hard but it can be a grind, just remember to enjoy the experience. Congratualtions, Assassins!

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/4563/141945-lo.jpg I'm a Legend 20:1gs:

Be equipped with only Legendary equipment.

Legendary equipment is gold/yellow in color. They are very powerful weapons that deal extra damage. They can have some of the qualities below:

  • Adrenaline on kill
  • Adrenaline on hit
  • Fire
  • Health on kill
  • Cursed - extraordinary damage (kills most enemies in 1-3 hits) but health is reduced to 33%

Legendary gear is harder to come by at first, but just be patient. You will more than likely find all the pieces naturally via exploration, completing quests, or purchasing them.

You do NOT need to have all the gear upgraded to max!

NOTE: You will also need a legendary outfit and horse. Legendary outfits can be purchased from the u-play store or earned from certain side quests, and you can purchase legendary steeds from any stable provided you have the skill that allows you to purchase rarer quality gear.

Once you have all the pieces, simply equip them all at once and the achievement will unlock.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/4563/141946-lo.jpg I'm Done Learning 30:1gs:

Activate a Master ability.

Master abilities are the abilities at the end of the trees that can be obtained more than once. For the sake of this achievement, you must only unlock one of these abilities. Upon unlocking any one of the three, the achievement will unlock.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/4563/141947-lo.jpg Overheating 20:1gs:

Witness raining bugs in the desert.

If you walk around in the desert for any amount of time, you will experience hallucinations. Raining bugs is one of the multiple hallucinations that can occur. It is completely luck based, so this can take hours or mere minutes.

If you don’t feel like running around, you can travel to the Great Sand Sea and rubber band the left analog stick to walk forward and eventually you will encounter this hallucination. Once you experience it, the achievement will unlock.

NOTE: Don’t panic if it doesn’t unlock immediately. It may take a few seconds for it to pop.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/4563/141948-lo.jpg For Those About to Die… 20:1gs:

Complete all arena events in the Krokodilopolis Arena.

At a certain point in the story, you will unlock the ability to travel to the Krokodilopolis arena and participate in fights. There are 3 arena challenges that consist of 4 fights (first three fights are 3 waves, and the fourth is the boss). Simply complete all of the available challenges in this arena and the achievement is yours.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/4563/141949-lo.jpg Fatality! 30:1gs:

Finish an arena boss with an Overpower Attack.

This is obtained in the gladiator arenas (unlocked automatically via progressing in the story). Every section of the arena has three fights that consists of 3 waves and then a boss at the fourth fight. For this achievement, wait until the boss’s health is reasonably low (you’ll fill up your adrenaline meter without even trying due to hitting the boss and getting hit) and then press :1rb: and :1rt: at the same time to unleash a brutal unblockable overpower attack that should kill them easily. Upon doing this in any arena challenge, the achievement will unlock.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/4563/141950-lo.jpg Ben-Hur 20:1gs:

Win the first Hippodrome tournament.

The Hippodrome is unlocked after progressing in the story. This mode consists of winning war chariot races. You don’t have to get first place in every race, but you must obtain the most points at the end of the three races by placing highly.

The handling on the chariots is shoddy at best, so a general tip is to hold :1a: on the straights and cut across to make hard rights on the curves. Don’t bother braking as it will probably throw you off. Once you win the first tournament, the achievement will unlock.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/4563/141951-lo.jpg Road Rage 20:1gs:

Destroy an opponent in a Hippodrome race.

To destroy an opponent in a Hippodrome race, you have to ride up next to another rider and hit :1b: + :1lsleft: or :1lsright:. Once you destroy one opponent, the achievement will unlock.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/4563/141952-lo.jpg The Harder They Fall 50:1gs:

Defeat the war elephants Qetesh & Resheph.

This boss is located in center part the southern section of Uab Nome.

First off, don’t bother attempting to fight any of the war elephants unless you are level 40 and have legendary weapons of the same level. Health on hit works best, but any will do. They will destroy you and you won’t do enough damage if you aren’t that level or have extremely good gear to boot.

The fight consists of two war elephants. One is weaker and hangs close to you while the other keeps his distance. Focus on the one that stays close to you exclusively until you kill it, then kill the other one. The second elephant is harder, so just be careful with the charging attacks and always dodge to the left and hang by its feet, slashing at his ankles while avoiding the arrows, bombs, and stomps.

Once the fight is completed, the achievement will unlock.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/4563/141953-lo.jpg Slasher 10:1gs:

Kill 3 enemies with one hit.

There are many opportunities to get this achievement. An easy way to get this is to go back to one of the starting locations of the game after you are a much higher level. Look around for enemies that are clumped together (it can be humans or animals). Tap :1rb: to attack all three enemies at once, and the achievement will unlock. For further assistance, refer to the video below. Full credit to CamDeeGaming for the video.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/4563/141954-lo.jpg The Arrow Whisperer 20:1gs:

Kill an enemy with the predator bow from more than 60 meters while controlling the arrow.

Before you unlock this achievement, you must purchase the “Enhanced Predator Bow” skill on the Hunter skill tree for two ability points. This enables you to control the arrow midair by holding :1rt:.

Once you have done this, find any enemy that is at least 60 meters away (you can use Senu to set an objective marker on an enemy just to be sure) and fire a predator arrow, holding :1rt: to steer the arrow into him for the fatal shot. The achievement will unlock when he drops to the ground.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/4563/141955-lo.jpg Words of Wisdom 5:1gs:

Complete all hermit locations.

See "Old Habits" for more info.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/4563/141956-lo.jpg Circle of Life 20:1gs:

Feed a predator with a corpse.

For this achievement, you must kill an enemy and then take his corpse to a close proximity of a predator. There are lots of places where you can do this, but the video below shows the location of where I got the achievement. Credit to CamDeeGaming for the video!

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/4563/141959-lo.jpg Shadow of Egypt 30:1gs:

Kill 10 enemies in a row without being detected.

This achievement isn’t too difficult so long as you are familiar with basic stealth mechanics in games. For this achievement you must kill ten enemies without entering conflict. This achievement is easier than it sounds, and there is a way to cheese it.

If you really must, what you can do is choke enemies unconscious (only works early in the game before you obtain the hidden blade) or beat them up. Either way, once you knock out 10 enemies, you can begin killing them all while they lay on the ground. Just be careful that you aren’t seen while doing this!

However you go about this, the achievement will unlock upon killing 10 enemies without getting into conflict.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/4563/141961-lo.jpg I Know My Land 30:1gs:

Defog the whole map.

For this achievement you must simply enter all of the different regions of the map. You don’t have to synchronize every viewpoint for this achievement, though it is strongly recommended you do this anyway as it will make your life a LOT easier later on.

You can technically do this at any time in the game, just note that some of the later regions in the game have enemies that will kill you instantly!

Once every region on the map as been defogged, the achievement will unlock.

Reach the "Top of the World" in the Black Desert territory.

This achievement can be obtained by reaching the Ra-Horakhty Mountain Top in the Black Desert territory. It's also a hermit location, so it will help with the "Words of Wisdom" achievement.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/4563/141964-lo.jpg Set-up Date 10:1gs:

Bring a tamed lion to a crocodile.

For this achievement, you need to acquire the skills "Sleep Darts" and "Animal Taming" skills. Once you have these two skills, head to the Sapi-Res territory into the Pyrrhos camp. Equip the sleep darts and fire one at a lion. Walk up to it as it's asleep and press :1y: to tame it. It will now follow you anywhere. Take it to a crocodile and they will begin to fight and the achievement will unlock. For further assistance, refer to the video below, full credit to 360GameTV!

Taking a photo can be done by holding :1menu: and :1page: at once. This will take you into a camera mode. Simply take a photo by pressing :1a: while in this mode in any five different regions on the map and the achievement will unlock. This must be in five different REGIONS, not just five different fast travel locations.

Before you attempt this achievement you will need to unlock the “Poison Darts” ability. From here, equip the poison darts and enter a region that has level 35+ enemies. Shoot the dart at any one and equip the torch by holding :1right:. Now, while the enemy is poisoned, run up to him an mash :1rb:. Once he dies the achievement will unlock. http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/4563/141970-lo.jpg Archer of the Month 20:1gs:

Headshot kill an enemy with the bow while in the air.

Before you attempt this achievement, you must purchase the “Elite Range” skill from the Hunter skill tree for 3 ability points.

Once you have done this, simply climb up to a high ledge and find an enemy below. Leap off and while you are falling hold :1lt: to aim your bow in slow motion. Aim for the enemy’s head and once you kill him with the headshot, the achievement will unlock.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/4563/141971-lo.jpg BOOM! 10:1gs:

Kill 30 enemies by shooting a fire arrow at oil jars.

First off, you will want to get a bow that shoots fire arrows. Once you obtain one, you will need to shoot the red jars that are next to hay while an enemy is standing on one. This will almost guaranteed kill them quickly. There are two excellent places to farm this achievement:

  • Dasos Hideout in Ka-Khem Nome
    • Use Dawn & Dusk to switch to nighttime. This will cause 3-4 enemies to be sleeping in the tent. There is another enemy that wanders around the camp, so kill him stealthily. Grab one of the smaller jars and set it inside the tent. Now, take out your fire arrows and shoot the jar, this will net you 3-4 kills.

    [*]Kibotos Arsenal in Alexandria

    • This location has red jars everywhere, so just look for enemies standing on the hay and shoot the jar, killing them almost instantly.

You can alternate between this two locations if you really need to, but to save time I would recommend doing these whenever you can while completing the locations. However you go about this, the achievement will unlock once you kill the 30th enemy in this fashion.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/4563/141972-lo.jpg Rider's Licence 10:1gs:

Use all types of vehicle at least once.

For this achievement you must mount all the different types of vehicles.

  • Horse
  • Camel
  • Chariot (doesn't matter what kind)
  • Small Boat
  • Grass Boat

You will probably get all but the war chariot naturally, but there are lots of opportunities to do this throughout the game. The achievement will unlock after mounting the last one.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/4563/141973-lo.jpg Old Habits 40:1gs:

Complete all locations.

This is the longest achievement in the game and you will likely unlock every achievement before this one. Locations are shown on the map by a white question mark.

There are quite a few different types of locations found around Egypt:

  • Treasure - by far the most common, simply open up 1-3 chests to complete. These can also be underwater.
  • Small Military/Medium Military/Fort - kill 1-2 captains/commander and open 1-4 chests
  • Animal Lairs - kill the leader of the group
  • Hermit Location - find a resting spot
  • Align the Stars - rotate the constellation pattern and match it to the stars
  • War Elephant - kill the War Elephant boss. Don't bother doing these until you are level 40.
  • Tombs - more elaborate maze like structures where you must find the ancient tablet or activate the mechanism with Silica at the end.

Here's some general rules of thumb when going through these locations:

  • Synchronize every viewpoint before you really set aside the time to do this achievement, it will save you a lot of time
  • Use Senu whenever you can. He will mark the locations of the captains/commanders and chests that you must open.
  • Some of the locations are hidden behind side quest markers (took me a long time to find my last location, which was the "Mountain of the Dead Tomb" in the Siwa territory.
  • If you are still having trouble seeing the locations on the map, turn your brightness down in the options menu and then zoom out until the locations are just barely visible. This will make the question mark pop stand out a little more.
  • If you are still unsure, fast travel to each region and use Senu to fly around and look for the question mark there.

Now that the general tips are out of the way, here's some specific locations that you might have trouble finding or clearing:

  • Hotep Cavern
    • This location is found right next to the border of the Qattara Depression. For unknown reasons, it is NOT shown on the map with the white question mark.

    [*]Bureau of the Hidden Ones

    • This location is only accessible once you have completed all the main missions.

    [*]Eesfet Oon-m'Aa Poo

    • This is located under the Sphinx. To open it, you need to completely align the stars (this will net you the "Stargazer" achievement). This will unlock the room to the mechanism, and to actually unlock the mechanism you need 50 silica. Silica is found exclusively in tombs. Hold :1up: to use eagle vision to see where these bright gold crystals are located. Complete this location for the Isu Armor Legendary Outfit.

Once you have completed all of the locations on the map, the achievement will unlock.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/4563/141976-lo.jpg Reduce, Reuse, Recycle 10:1gs:

Sell 100 trinkets at once.

Trinkets are small items that aren't used for anything other than to be sold for gold. They are found in chests (all kinds, not just the ones that are tied to location objectives, killing enemies, etc. In the inventory menu (not the gear menu), look to the right and scroll down until you see trinkets. Make sure you have 100 of them before selling them all at once by holding :1down: in any shopkeeper menu.

NOTE: Make sure you have 100 TRINKETS, animal skins and that sort of thing do not count for this.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/4563/141978-lo.jpg You still need 8880... 10:1gs:

Reach level 20.

You will definitely get this naturally over the course of your playthrough.

New to Assassins Creed, there is a level up system that is very similar to any RPG. The enemies have levels as well, so you can’t just go around killing everyone right off the bat.

Earn XP by completing quests, killing enemies, completing locations, and completing special objectives. Once you reach level 20, the achievement will unlock.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/4563/141981-lo.jpg Defy Authority 10:1gs:

Defeat a Phylakes.

Phylakes are very strong bounty hunters who are much harder than regular enemies. They are spread all around the map and are a fixed level. They will hopelessly out-level you initially, so don’t worry about them right off the bat.

For this achievement, you only have to kill one (though there is a level 40 side quest that tasks you with assassinating all of them which will unlock very high quality weapons and a legendary outfit at the end). Open up your map and look for a red bull icon (you will have to zoom in a bit for them to appear).

Upon killing any one of them, the achievement will unlock.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/4563/141982-lo.jpg Handy Man 20:1gs:

Craft 20 items.

Early on in the story, you will unlock the ability to craft upgrades to your gear: hidden blade, chest plate, bracers, quiver, etc. that will improve the item’s stats such as damage, health, arrow capacity, etc.

The materials needed to craft such items can be obtained from dismantling gear (best for cedar wood), killing enemies that carry them (wood and iron), hunting animals (by far the most efficient way of getting leathers) or purchasing them.

Simply craft 20 upgrades and the achievement will unlock.

  • Ulterior Votive

These quests can be found in the Northern section of Yamu. This will unlock the "Lady of Slaughter" side quest. Complete this quest for the achievement and a legendary outfit.

Use the eagle for a total of 30 minutes.

This achievement is cumulative and can be earned at anytime upon unlocking Senu.

You unlock the eagle Senu very early in the game. Senu can be used to scout enemies and identify objectives in a location, such as who and where the commander/captain is as well as chests that must be opened to complete the location.

To use him, hold :1up: and you will go into a bird’s eye view (literally) and can begin. You will likely unlock this naturally over the course of your playthrough, but however you do it, the achievement will unlock after using Senu for 30 minutes.

Run away from 3 fights with a hippo.

You will find hippos in the wild in swampy areas. They may seem nice at first, but do not be fooled, they would happily charge you down and crush you. For this achievement, purposefully get into conflict with a hippo and then simply run for your life! Run until you hear a sound that indicates that you are out of conflict. Repeat this two more times and the achievement is yours.

NOTE: This CAN be done using the same hippo.

Before you unlock this, you need to unlock the “Dawn & Dusk” skill in the Seer tree. Upon unlocking this skill, hold :1menu: to turn day time into night and vice versa. Repeat this 30 times and the achievement will unlock.

You may get a fair amount of these naturally just by playing the game but if for whatever reason you don’t, you can grind this out anytime.

Does easy difficulty make the hippodrome races easier? I won the first tournament but I CBA to even try the second, third, fourth, however many are after that. Worst part of the game for me.

It does not. It is the same difficulty no matter what. May I ask why you would do all the other ones? I thought only the first one was needed for an achievement.

But I agree man, the hippodrome is by far the worst part of the game. Every thing else is great though.

Rider's Licence
You don't need war chariot any chariot will do, but you also need a cart any cart pulled by cattle.

Old Habits
This will pop at end of story, so if you have done everything before the story it won't pop.

Master Diver
This is any location under the water, there are way more than 15 of them.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Trinkets are found in any lootable objects like pots, sacks, crates and treasures, animals don't count, just save up until you have 100 of them, then use sell all button.

Thx for this roadmap. Completed the game but couldn’t find the time nor effort to write it myself.

Indeed “Old Habit” is a post-game achievement as a location doesn’t unlock until all main quests are done.

Oh and the “Take 5 photos in 5 regions” achievement, not sure but I believe “regions” refer to an entire area like Siwa and Memphis. I attempted it during the Prologue, took 5 photos at 5 landmarks in Siwa and failed to unlock it.

The “equip all legendary items” achievement can be obtained before the Hidden Blade is acquired, that’s why I believe all those crafting items like chest plate and pouches are not required to reach maximum strength for this achievement. Legendary gear are best obtained early-game through solving Papyrus puzzles from what I know.

This is exactly right. You can literally fast travel to 5 different view points in 5 different regions (Siwa, Memphis, etc.) and take one pic in each region

Appreciate it! Will refer to it a couple times no doubt!

Recommended just doing the story straight away instead of worrying about achievements?

Happy to help man.

And yeah I'd go to completing he story first. Reason is is that you'll be doing a lot of exploring anyway and you'll have to level up to do the story so I'd definitely recommend going through the story without freaking out about completing everything.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/4563/141970-lo.jpg Archer of the Month 20:1gs:

Headshot kill an enemy with the bow while in the air.

Before you attempt this achievement, you must purchase the “Elite Range” skill from the Hunter skill tree for 3 ability points.

Once you have done this, simply climb up to a high ledge and find an enemy below. Leap off and while you are falling hold :1lt: to aim your bow in slow motion. Aim for the enemy’s head and once you kill him with the headshot, the achievement will unlock.

If your on a flat surface (so not somewhere you crouch automatically) like a cliff and shoot an arrow at an enemies head from far away and then jump off before it hits him you can get this achievement without the elite ranger skill. You can even use a predator bow (so you can zoom in on your target).

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/4563/141973-lo.jpg Old Habits 40:1gs:

  • If you are still unsure, fast travel to each reason and use Senu to fly around and look for the question mark there.

A further tip. One of the recent updates made icons easier to see and added an incomplete filter to the world map. just tap :1up: while on the map to change filters. Also I think auto correct got you, you have reason instead of region :) Edited by SpinelesS
