StayonTarget
The Setup It's that time of year again. XBA's Gamerscore League Tournament is back... with a twist! The Twist Only YOURSELF and ONE other participate on a team can have teamed up before (Post GSL 12). Meaning, if myself, Hans Gruber, Toucan Sam, and Milhouse Van Houten wish to be on a team, but Hans, Sam, and I were on a team last year, one of us must find a different team. But if (1A) Sam and (1B) Milhouse were on a team and (2B) myself and (2B) Hans were on a team, then the four of us may be on a team. If you teamed up in 2007, it doesn't matter. We're only looking at data after GSL 12. Participation Eligibility: Teams may be between 2 and 4 people. You must sign up before the deadline. Your gamertag must have achievements dated at least one year ago. Your join date on the forum must be no later than April 1st, 2018 (if a subscriber, no limit). You must have at least 5 posts in the forum, including at least one in the last 30 days. Your profile on xbox.com must be set to public. You must be able to sign in to LIVE at least once on July 7th, THE DAY BEFORE THE START DATE, for our scanner to load your profile. Sign Up Thread Link Looking For Teammates Thread All entires will be reviewed manually, so please make our lives easy. From when you sign up until the end of the competition, you must not change your gamertag or your XBA profile name, and your Xbox LIVE profile must remain set to public. If a member of your team is found to have cheated achievements, even if it was 5 years ago, your entire team is disqualified. There will be no mid-competition replacements. i.e. if a participant gets weary of the competition and decides to quit, the rest of his team will just have to deal with it. If your XBA account gets banned for any reason, you and your entire team are out of the competition. If this occurs during signups, non banned members are free to find new teams. If you suspect someone has cheated, you can either report it at this link or contact bplayak directly. Victory Conditions The winning team will be determined by the largest team score during the competition period. Team scores are equal to the combined total score of all team members The competition starts at 12 am PST on July 8th, 2018 and ends at 11:59 pm PST on July 28th. The MVP will be the individual with the largest gamerscore increase during the competition period. Forum Awards will be given to each member of the top 3 teams, the overall MVP, and the MVP of each team Scoring Tracker What Do I Win? As usual with the Gamerscore League, there will be awards for First, Second, and Third place as well as an Overall MVP and Team MVPs. 1st Place 2nd Place 3rd Place Team MVP Player MVP The bonus prize will be a base version of a physical game of choice given out to a scoring participant once a week, throughout all three weeks of the tournament. The game must be from 2017 or 2018 (and already released). General Discussion Thread It's important to have a bit of banter during a video game tournament. Some pokes here and some jokes there, but let's remember to keep it friendly y'all! Thank you A big thank you to everyone who was involved in this project and of course to our members who we hope to see score hard and win those forum awards and prizes! Lavindathar
I kinda gave up on the easy games for gamer score for the most part, so I won’t drag anyone down, but good luck to those who go for it!
Rapture639
Isn't there another twist with the timing of this competition compared to previous GSL's (summer as opposed to the usual late fall/winter time period)?
StayonTarget
Isn't there another twist with the timing of this competition compared to previous GSL's (summer as opposed to the usual late fall/winter time period)? There's still be a fall/winter GSL and it will be twist-less I believe.

StayonTarget
So there will be 2 GSL’s this year? Sorta. We're looking at a standard GSL early 2019. We're going to be monitoring the reception of this tournament to determine whether or not we will be creating a cycle of the original GSL and GSL Twists, alternating every 6 months or so. Naturally the Twists would be different each year. We still want to create some excitement with twists but we've been hearing you all loud and clear that changing the OG GSL format isn't exactly what you all want to see. Honestly this is the best of both worlds. I can understand the members who are serious about GSL wanting it to stay the same and I like the twist idea to keep it fresh and fun for the casual member. Everybody wins!
