jeffgoodt
Used this script and got 940 once, so close. What resolution did you use? Wifi or cable internet? Windowed mode? Windowed mode, wifi (dont think that makes a diff), 1366x768. Honestly if you got that close I'd just try adding one more interval for 900 or wherever it seems to get to most often and see if that can take you over 1000

The Pants Party
I finally got the achievement, but not with a script - could never get it to work after hours of trying. Didn't quite do it legit either. I used a program to decimate the frame rate and ran the game at 8FPS so I had plenty of time to react to the jumps. It took over 20 minutes and was mind numbing, but it's done! Edited March 4, 2019 by The Pants Party
FugthePug
I'm really confused and frustrated. What exactly are the shadows for and how do I know I've grabbed the right pixels/where exactly should I aim? Additionally, it's not doing more than a single jump for me. I managed to get it into a loop of repeatedly failing and restarting. If you need more info I can provide it, I'm just so incredibly confused as to how this script even works. I do, however, appreciate the work that's gone into this.

The Pants Party
could you explain how you did that? as I can not get any of the scripts to work, best I have had is 201 jumps Sure. I'm working on an achievement guide at the moment. Here's that part: 3. Frame Rate Control: This is the method I used and also requires playing on PC. Download a program such as RivaTuner Statistics Server and set it to cap your computer's Frames Per Second down to a very low number with the Application Detection on High. Have this setup prior to opening the game or it may not detect the game. I personally used 8FPS, but I likely should have gone to 10 or 12. Doing this will slow the game down and give you plenty of time to react to the jumps. Use Vivi's feet as a marker and press the Enter key to jump every time his feet begin to swing forward. I thought of it more as me shoving him back to the ground rather than actually initiating the next jump. You'll need a good 25-30 minutes set aside for this method since the game is slowed down so much, but it's nearly failproof. dannyboy2k9
thanks for the reply, but as soon as the jumps start to speed up this doesn't work for me, all that happens is I watch the rope slowly knock me over instead, as the keys or buttons don't seem to register when its that slow... at least for me anyway

RE: Pier Solar - I'm in the process of developing a macro for that one lol The script is what you’re calling a macro for button presses. The cursor locations are so the script will retry on its own since it can be fickle one run to the other. I wish it was as easy as here are the numbers for everyone no matter what but it seems to have something to do with each person’s setup. It could have something to do with FPS. Maybe we could combine button presses with a locked in FPS and take some of the randomness out of the equation.

I know that the game behaves weirdly on some hardware setups for some reason - on my Surface Book 2 the game runs in slow motion throughout the whole game unless I set the resolution to 800x600 for example. Maybe something to do with that? I can take a look when I get a chance at existing scripts and see if I can adapt them.

The Pants Party
I can't seem to figure out how to even change resolution or get into windowed mode?? Resolution would be of your display itself, changed through your computer settings. Windowed mode can be set just like any other program. But for some reason every 4/5 pressed of enter doesn't work with jumping. I can't actually get past 3 jumps. The speech bubble will go black to show that I have pressed ENTER but no action is made, same with even talking to the girl. I have to press ENTER 3 times at least just to even start the mini game but the game is running smooth so don't know what is going on.
Yuitsu
I've got the restart down, but it's not going on the jump. (I was originally using Eiko but I went and got shot of her) Used a screenshot and zoomed in to grab the colour hex between Vivis feet... Distractor08
Who needs macro/scripts when your computer is crappy like mine to begin with!! All I did is download the game on my PC and my PC is so slow with games I don't have to set anything up. I got to 300+ before my figure twitched and hit enter twice when it shouldn't, but I should get it tomorrow. Problem for me is that it is so slow it will take like 45 minutes to do it, lol but I will take it. Sadly I probably have to do the 10,000 kills legit because of how slow the game is on my computer. I've done worse (looking at u MK9 and the 480+ hrs I had to put in it for doing nothing...).
Nox Mortiis
So, Link's script always tells me that the shadows aren't detected no matter what I do. What's stupid is, both Chunkeh's and jeffgoodt's edits do detect the shadow. Also, Link's script won't even start for me, I assume because it can't find the shadow (for whatever reason). I haven't moved or resized the window at all, and I'm obviously using the same coordinates/color. jeffgoodt's seems to work best for me (failing at 50-70 most of the time instead of 20 or never starting to begin with), but it always fails before 100. Best I can tell is it's jumping too fast. I want to try and slow it down slightly, but I've got no idea how I'd do that. Also, the restart only works like 1 in 5 times, and when it does, the "shadow detected" message pops up too early and then it starts jumping about a second too soon, resulting in a quick fail in the first few jumps. The other 4 in 5 times, the jump counter tooltip just keeps going up until the script eventually decides the failure counts as a failure or I manually stop it. I've never once touched a script before attempting this, and I'm doing all of this on a borrowed laptop because the last time I even owned a Windows computer was when Vista came out, so what little I've been able to work out has been the result of tons of trial and (mostly) error and lots of frustration. I could really use some help on this, because I really have no idea what I'm doing. Edited April 22, 2019 by Nox Mortiis Figured out more, but still lost. ErgOcB
Hi there ! After several hours of trying to run the script with the help of Link2430, we finally figure out with the ENTER key not recognize by the game problem. After few tries I admit that the script will not work because of my enter key problem and I've to find another way, so I've downloaded RivaTunerStatisticsServer to minimize my frame rate to 10 or 15 fps. Is this moment we realize that the frame rate of the game is not blocked and for users who have goods computer, a high frame rate of much than 30 (game original frame rate) will cause lot of trouble (characters run faster than normal, enter key not recognize everytime..ect) So... Here is the fix : 1 - Download and install RivaTunerStatisticsServer as xboxachievement third solution told you. 2 - Adjust the frame rate of the game by 30 fps, before running the script. 3 - Look how good is that script Btw.. I run the script for a while now and I've reach 17 000 Jumps, so.. yes the counter goes higher than 9999 forthose who are wondering. Hope this solution will help some peoples. I wanna give a special thanks to Link2430 who help me a lot with this !
xroguebloodx
Alright, I think I got it, but I definitely need people to test this out. I only have one computer I can try this on. Credit goes to QueueTip over at PlayStation Trophies for figuring this script out, I just adjusted it so hopefully we can use it on our side. First thing, follow these steps to get AHK setup on your machine (adapted from https://www.playstationtrophies.org/forum/6083888-post158.html): 1. Download AutoHotKey https://autohotkey.com/, and SciTE4AutoHotkey https://fincs.ahk4.net/scite4ahk/. 2. Copy and paste every part of the script (below) into a new file on SciTE4AutoHotkey, then save the file (preferably on the desktop for easy access). 3. Open up FFIX, take the game out of full screen and into windowed mode, and go to the jump rope game. Press Enter on your keyboard until the game shows "0 times" and Vivi has a white ! above his head. 4. Find the file and double click to start the script. At this point, we need to find where Vivi's shadow is at the beginning of the jump rope game. This is the hard part so try to be patient. Find where the script is running in the bottom right of your screen (usually under hidden icons near the clock in Windows 10). You should see a green H symbol. Right click that symbol and select Window Spy. A new window will pop up similar to this: https://imgur.com/9q8IL0d Select the check box Follow Mouse if it isn't already checked. Also, make sure under your mouse settings you turn on “Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key”. That way when you press the control key a circle shows you where your mouse pointer is. One catch is that when your mouse is within the FFIX window, it disappears. Press the control key until you get an idea of where your mouse is and get it under Vivi's shadow where the color value (in the mouse position section of Window Spy next to color) doesn't change. This part isn't super easy so take your time. You'll want to either snap a picture of the Window Spy window with your phone or jot down the coordinates and color. The relevant information for us is in the mouse position section. Referencing the above picture, we need to know the coordinates next to "Client:" (yours will definitely be different, this is only an example). So, according to the picture, we would note 1825, 841, and the color value CCA053. Alright, first step complete. Take this information and plug your values into line number 43 (always leave 0x before putting your color value): PixelSearch, x, y, 1825, 841, 1825,841, 0xCCA053, 50, Fast RGB Next, we need to get Vivi's shadow after he has failed the jump rope game so we can automatically restart the script. Go ahead and manually fail the game until you get to where the girl says, "Come play with us again!". At this point, redo the step above getting Vivi's shadow location using Window Spy. Then place these numbers and the color value just as above but this time on line number 61. Here is an example (same idea as shown above, the numbers will not be the same): ; Detect if failed and back at the start to retry PixelSearch, x, y, 1272, 1179, 1272, 1179, 0x2E2208, 50, Fast RGB Now, you are well on your way. Don't resize the FFIX window or you will have to find Vivi's coordinates again! Save the script and press "R" on your keyboard to reload the script. Get Vivi back into the position where he has a ! above his head and he is outside of the jump rope. Press the "A" key to run the script. There will be tooltips noting each jump and a number you can disregard. Make sure the in game jumps and the tooltip jump numbers are in sync. If not, you have other issues we may can work out. If you are failing on the first jump and are seeing a tooltip stating "Not detected, check coordinates and/or color" you will need to redo the above steps to find Vivi's shadow. Again, that part can be frustrating so try to be patient. If Vivi fails a jump, the script should automatically restart for you so leave it running. If it doesn't, recheck your pixel coordinates after Vivi has failed. Here are a few disclaimers/notes: I definitely have had some issues getting this to work. One day it worked great, then I had to make some significant logic changes to make it work the next day. I hope this will work for at least some people. If you get the pixel detection working right and it doesn't constantly fail on 20 or the same exact number each time, it should eventually work, so let it do its thing. I've had success running this script at different window sizes on my computer using the above steps. Since I had so many issues between days, I wasn't going to adapt this to share, but then I read about how some physically can't do this achievement and I wanted to hopefully help at least someone. Let me know if it works for anyone and if you have any questions, I will try to help. Good luck! Thorgo
I struggled with this for a long time! I tried to do this legit and my timing kept messing up around 200. (fail) I tried with the frame rate reduction down to 6, 8, &10. My eyes would struggle to focus around 400. (fail) I tried the auto script and it kept stopping at jump 1 following the directions previously posted. I changed my "shadow detection" and was able to infinite loop the jump 1 failure. (not helpful, but progress) I moved the start of the script to as soon as you approach jump rope and get the (!), instead of past the first dialogue where is shows "0 jumps". With this change I was able to get the script to actually jump to 40's, but not re-loop/retry. (just kept counting as if continuing to jump) At this point I pulled the frame rate control back up and set it to cap at 30. ( most native/original game speed?) I was able to routinely get to 200 exactly. At this point i made minor tweaks (changing jump rate change to go at 199 instead of 200 etc.) until i was able to auto-script all the way past 1000 jumps! As a side note, I also change the "delay" from 100 to 95 and that seemed to improve the speed transitions too. The achievement did not pop until I intentionally messed up to end the mini game ( I was nervous to do so!) Here is the final script I used (be sure to adjust the starting shadow detection to read at where it shows 0 jumps), but start the script as soon as you approach the girls to jump rope and the (!) appears. I hope this helps!
TheRedNeo
I found a way to see your mouse and find Vivi's shadow. 1. Have FF9 running in window mode. 2. Open Window Spy. (Window Spy will always stay above the game's window) 3. Open SciTE4AutoHotkey. 4. Have FF9 running in the back with both Window Spy and SciTE4AutoHotkey on top. 5. Click on any line of SciTE4AutoHotkey as if you were about to type. (You should see the text cursor "I" blinking) 6. Make sure that your mouse cursor is above the Start Menu when you press the Windows Key. 7. Press the Window's Key to bring up the Start menu and again to remove the Start menu. 8. You should now see your mouse above the FF9 window. 9. Find Vivi's Shadow and place your cursor right between his feet. You will see false Client numbers and Color in Window Spy. 10. To see the real numbers you must click on FF9's window. Making your mouse cursor disappear but Window Spy will stay on top showing the real numbers.
