Introduction:

Welcome to WRC (World Rally Championship) 8, the eight game of the WRC franchise. For those unfamiliar with it, WRC takes you into the country to race against the clock, as you will be on your own at the track. There are multiple stages on each country, tracks and conditions will vary as you go for the necessary 5 seasons it will take to get all the achievements. Understanding English is a great help, as some of the signs only give half a clue and the audio will have more info.

Career Mode

Your first thing should be to start a career on Easy, with Low or Visual only damage on your car. I started at the Junior WRC, as I was new to the game and that will also help towards the cumulative achievements of ”Hotshot” for winning stages and ”Nomad” for kilometers. You should get a lot of the miscellaneous achievements as well as the specific ones for the finishing on the podium on all stages culminating in ”Hero”. There are specific things you will need to do in terms of repairs for achievements, but this should come easy and can be done at any level. Eventually you will get upgraded to WRC 2 and finally to WRC.

On the WRC a couple of specific achievements will be available regarding the season objective and specific objectives. Once you win on the WRC you will get ”WRC Champion”, however you might need to play a couple more season ”Indecisive” and the before mentioned cumulative achievements.

Multiplayer:

There is only one multiplayer achievement, that requires you to win the first stage on a Rally. If you are doing this with a boosting partner you might as well get ”Race Master” on the same go.

Mop-Up:

By the time you get ”Indecisive” you should have most (or all) the achievements for this game. If not just continue playing for kilometers and stage wins on career. Also, if you did not set your damage setting, you will need to get ”Public threat”

Conclusion:

This is a very enjoyable, though sometimes repetitive, game with a decent list of achievements and completion time for a racing game. It is very different from Forza or F1 games (as is the WRC) but familiarity with racing games will help a lot. Since there is only one “difficult related” achievement and the hole game can be done on easy it does take a lot of the challenge out of it if you are looking to 1000 this game.

Achievement Guide:

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/5725/176226-lo.jpg Newcomer 15:1gs:

Start a new career in WRC 8

Does not matter in which level you start (Junior or WRC2) you will get this as soon as a new career is started.

Refer to ”Hotshot”

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/5725/176229-lo.jpg Hotshot 35:1gs:

Win 100 Stages

Stages are the events you play every day. Each day will have 2 events and the rallies will have either 4 (Junior and WRC2) or 6 (WRC) stages on each rally. Once you win the necessary number of stages you will get all stackable achievements.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/5725/176230-lo.jpg Night owl 30:1gs:

Win 10 Stages at night

Very similar to ”Hotshot”, only you will need to win night stages.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/5725/176231-lo.jpg Hard worker 35:1gs:

Complete a season objective

The season objective is set at the contract singing in WRC. Different teams will have different objectives. Even though it says “season”, you will get a chance to beat it at every rally, so you can keep earning money from it if you beat it multiple times. I got this after my very first rally, and the season objective was to stay on the top 5 for the entire season.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/5725/176232-lo.jpg Perfectionist 35:1gs:

Complete 15 objectives of any type during the same season

This can get tricky. You will have two manufacturer objectives: a short-term and a middle-term. You can change the objectives for easier ones, however it will cost you reputation with the manufacturer. To get this you may need to make some sacrifices concerning strategy and rest, or maintenance. I would pick the 4th (and if necessary the 5th) season you will need to play for this as you will get a better sense of what the objectives are and what are the ones you can do easier.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/5725/176233-lo.jpg Race Master 50:1gs:

Win a Stage in Authentic difficulty

This can be done in either online or offline. If you are doing this offline it will be tricky. Make sure your damage settings are set to “visual only” and pick a track you are good at. However, you can also get this online and this makes it much easier. You will need to follow four simple steps:

1. Change the difficult setting to “Authentic” on the main menu

2. Win an online private match with a boosting buddy (this should pop the achievement, but it does not…) – if you win a first stage you should get ”Challenger”

3. After finished, quit online mode and get you settings back to easy

4. Go to “Quick Play” and win a stage. Once you finish it the achievement will pop.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/5725/176234-lo.jpg WRC 2 driver 35:1gs:

Join the WRC 2 Championship

There are two ways to get this. The fastest one is starting a career directly on WRC2. However if you started a career on Junior WRC, by the end of it if you are champion you will be eligible to get a contract with a WRC2 team and get the achievement.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/5725/176235-lo.jpg WRC Champion 50:1gs:

Become WRC World Champion

Pretty self-explanatory. You will need to finish first at the end of the season of WRC, that you will only be able to get at best in your second run as you can´t start on WRC, only on WRC2. Even if you are mathematically assured as champion (happened to me 4 rounds in advance) the achievement only pops at the season finale.

Reach the podium in all rallies in Career mode

This is the last achievement you will get for finishing rallies on the Top 4 (Podium) while in Career Mode. Since there is no difficult setting related, I strongly recommend you do this on easy. You can take “your time” on the courses as getting thrown off track will yield penalties that are often more costly than slowing down before the corner. Rallies will have 4 stages on Junior and WRC2 and 6 stages on WRC. You don´t have to win all stages (or any for that matter), just have to finish in the podium.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/5725/176251-lo.jpg Fast learner 20:1gs:

Reach Level 20

Refer to ”Rising Star”

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/5725/176252-lo.jpg Rising star 30:1gs:

Reach Level 40

You gain XP by doing various events, not only rallies. Historic Races, Training, Maintenance, Manufactures Tryouts all will get you some XP. There is also an R&D upgrade that gives you more XP on the Crew Skill tree.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/5725/176253-lo.jpg Show-off 20:1gs:

Use 15 Perks

Perks will be “upgrades” you can get in WRC. They will have a loot of different advantages. Some will be usable for one rally only, others for several. You can only equip 2 at a time, on the crew management screen of career. Once you use 15 different ones you will get it.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/5725/176254-lo.jpg Collector 50:1gs:

Have 4 legendary cards in an active crew

Legendary Crew members are identified with an orange triangle on the bottom left. Once you finish an event, go to the Crew Management and look into recruitment. Once you see a card go for it. Since they need to be active at the same time you will need to get cards on 4 of the 6 “jobs”. There are skills on the Team Skill Tree that can help your recruiting rare crew members.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/5725/176255-lo.jpg Indecisive 30:1gs:

Change team 5 times

Every end of season you will get a chance to get a new contract. You will need to get a contract with a different manufacturer. This is not that complicated, and you can increase the relationship with manufactures doing manufacturer tryouts and manufacturer challenge events. Just be careful as they will diminish your current moral.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/5725/176256-lo.jpg Force of nature 35:1gs:

Win 15 Stages with dynamic weather in Quick Play mode

I believe this achievement is glitched (in a good way). I got this by playing only career mode and it popped after a regular weather event.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/5725/176257-lo.jpg Competitor 35:1gs:

Take part in 50 events in the calendar

Your calendar has 4 weeks for each month. As you progress in the game you will do events, such as rallies and other races. Resting will not count, but all other will. Once you hit 50 (somewhere near the end of season 3) you will get it.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/5725/176258-lo.jpg Jackpot! 20:1gs:

Win a rare event

Rare events will appear on your calendar. You can distinguish them as they will have five starts on them as well as the type of event. You can get this and ”Nostalgic” at the same time if you chose a rare historic event.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/5725/176259-lo.jpg Nostalgic 20:1gs:

Win a Historic Race event

Historic events will appear on your calendar between rallies for you to choose from. They will normally have a track and a car picked out for you. Difficult does not matter, so pick easy and just go for it.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/5725/176260-lo.jpg Public threat 15:1gs:

Get a DNF in any mode

Most likely one of your first achievements on the game even without trying. You have to destroy your car and not finish the race. On higher difficulties this is even easier. The only thing you need to do is set “damage on” as the visual only setting.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/5725/176261-lo.jpg Certified driver 20:1gs:

Win a rally with a repair time penalty

To get a repair time penalty you will need to make repairs that will exceed the standard 45 minutes of time you normally have. The penalty will add up, and the least time I could get was one minute, so make sure this is on a track you are doing well. Since difficult does not matter suggest you do this on easy.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/5725/176262-lo.jpg Tourist 15:1gs:

Drive over 500km in any mode

Refer to ”Nomad”

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/5725/176263-lo.jpg Globetrotter 20:1gs:

Drive over 1,000km in any mode

Refer to ”Nomad”

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/5725/176264-lo.jpg Nomad 30:1gs:

Drive over 2,000km in any mode

This is a cumulative achievement and probably your last one. Each event counts towards it. If you do the 5 season for ”Indecisive” you should be close to it by the end of season 5, possibly even getting it. Make sure to do a lot of races in between rallies.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/5725/176265-lo.jpg Splasher 15:1gs:

Go through 200 water puddles

This may sound difficult, but it is not. As you advance in career you will face some stages in rain, and a lot of puddles. It is highly likely you will get this even without trying specifically for it.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/5725/176266-lo.jpg Stuntman 15:1gs:

Roll a car over in any mode

Another achievement you will most likely get without trying. For this your car has to roll over. Since the first rally is in the snow and you will most likely loose control over your car somewhere this is almost guaranteed on the first rally in career.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/5725/176267-lo.jpg Scatterbrain 30:1gs:

Win a Stage with a car that has not been repaired

At the middle of every event you will get a chance to repair your car. To get this achievement you will need to not do any work on the car and still win that Stage (event). Best thing to do is to select “Damage Effects” to Low or Visual Only so your car does not get a lot of damage. Once you win the stage you will get this. Junior and WRC2 are easier as there is only one repair event and stages are shorter.

http://www.xboxachievements.com/images/achievements/5725/176268-lo.jpg Challenger 20:1gs:

Win a first Stage in online Multiplayer mode

Best way to do this is with a boosting partner on a short stage. Can be done in a Private Lobby. You will need to win only the first stage.
