Introduction:
Burning Fight was released on NEOGEO back in 1991 by SNK, and has been ported directly to the Xbox One by our new best friends over at the bizarrely named Hamster Corporation. As with most of the other games so far released in the ACA series, this side scrolling 2D beat-em-up requiring little skill to finish. You only need to play each game mode once, but depending on luck and how fast you get learn the enemies patterns and game mechanics, may take few more tries.

Step 1 - Original Mode
Start up in original mode. You can change the settings to make things easier for yourself by pressing  and changing the number of players to as high as you like. You can go as high as 99, but chose how ever many you feel may be necessary. I personally used around 30 to get the scores. Play until you have all of the point achievements, getting to grips with the game as you go. Once you have them, let yourself get beat and unlock the two high score achievements. 5 achievements for 420.

Step 2 - Hi-Score Mode
In Hi-Score Mode, you have to test yourself against the computer at level 4 difficulty, with only three lives to play with. You will need to make it past the first boss and maybe even just passed the second. The best way to score highly is with jumping kicks. It will take longer to defeat the enemies, but the extra score is worth it. Once you have the score related achievements, let yourself get beat and upload your score for the related achievement. 4 achievements for 340.

Step 3 - Caravan Mode
Rinse and repeat what you did in step 2, this time in Caravan mode. As well as not being able to change the difficulty and having only three lives, you have only 5 minutes to get the high scores. This can prove to be a bit tight, but using the same tactics as Hi Score mode this should only take a few attempts. Once you have the score related achievements, you can simply quit out. 3 achievements for 240

Conclusion:
This Streets of Rage clone isn’t a bad game, but will probably leave you wanting to play the original. With a little practice, the achievements should come pretty fast. If you don't mind the price point for not much bang for your buck, and appreciate an easy 1000, then this game comes highly recommended!

  • The score has been posted to the online rankings.

Play the game on Original mode, with any settings, and set a high score. When you get to the game over screen, as long as you get on the high score board, you will get this. The lowest score is really low, you will probably get this by just finishing the first level. The game will ask you if you want to upload your high score. Press  and your achievement will pop.

You don’t keep your score if you have to continue, so make sure you give yourself enough leeway. Due to being allowed so many lives, getting to 150k is super simple, you could even just spam the punch button to get there. Make sure you go into any buildings you see for the bonuses, and smash any objects to pick up bonuses there, too. You should hit 150k around the start of level 4. Play until you have all of the point achievements, getting to grips with the game as you go.

  • The score has been posted to the online rankings in the "HI SCORE MODE".

Play the game on Hi-Score mode and set a high score. When you get to the game over screen, as long as you get on the high score board, you will get this. The lowest score is isn't too high, and you will surpass when going for the other achievements. The game will ask you if you want to upload your high score. Press  and your achievement will pop.

Getting to 60k on Hi Score mode isn’t too bad, although it can be a little frustrating. You only have three lives, but don’t need to get too far through the game. If you get caught up in a group of people, they can spam attacks at you and take a lot of health, so make sure you move around the screen and try to avoid having people come up from behind you. The easiest way to get your score moving is by doing jumping kicks. Jump with  and kick with , then repeat. You can use  instead, but there is greater risk of pressing  and  together, using your special which takes a chunk of life off - totally not worth it. Jump kicking gets you 250 points per hit, compared to 50 for . Make sure you go into any buildings which say "In" as they contain huge bonuses. You should hit 60k before the end of the second level. You don’t want to be facing the second boss, as he is very cheap and will most likely end your run. Getting to 50k on Caravan mode isn’t too bad, although it can be a little frustrating. You only have three lives, but don’t need to get too far through the game. You will want to use the same tactics as for Hi-Score mode, but at the same time you need to be fast. Jump kicking the enemies gets you way more points, so use them on all the regular enemies, but there are points you should really just be spamming . In particular, the jumping enemies that jump off the van at you, and the boss at the end of the first level. Also, just before the boss there is a guy in a white suit that carries a gun. This guy is a pain, he wanders off screen and slide attacks you, wasting valuable time. Hit him once, pick up his gun and shoot him until he is dead. At the start of the second level, go to the right and straight into the clothes shop (with the "Up" sign), as you will need these bonuses and probably won't have a lot of time left at this stage.
