Welcome to ACA NEOGEO League Bowling, another installment to the NEOGEO series by Hamster Corporation. This is an old school take on bowling that allows you to try your hand at being a pro bowler. Like every other NEOGEO on the Xbox One and Windows 10 system, you will need to obtain a score in all three modes, while uploading to the online leaderboards in Original and Hi Score Mode. All three modes require the same exact score in each mode, 2,000 points. While this game could be completed in mere minutes if you know what you are doing, I’d set aside about an hour and a half or more for this completion.
To begin, you need to select Original Mode from the main menu. Unlike other NEOGEO games, you will not be messing with the settings before starting. They can make the Original Mode achievements easier, you will still need to do the same thing without save states in Hi Score and Caravan Mode. Once you get to the menu, you will also need to pick Flash Mode, otherwise you will not be able to score the needed points. Chose your ball weight and handedness, which will start up a ten frame game. Once you’re loaded in, you’ll need to take notes of the surroundings in order to know how to start scoring high. Please see my description for "Score 2,000 Points" for a detailed guide. Once you get the needed amount of points, tap to enter your initials, then upload your score to the online leaderboards with .
You will then need to repeat the same steps for Hi Score and Caravan Mode, scoring 2,000 points in each. Make sure you never pause the game in Hi Score and Caravan Mode, as there still is no way to un-pause in these modes, leading to a reset. A game takes about four minutes so make sure you can do that uninterrupted. Your bowler will automatically throw the ball after a certain amount of time, which will most likely end the run.
Continue playing games until you have the hang of it, and scoring 2,000 points won’t be too bad. Work on timing especially, as you can luck your way into strikes and non-split spares are usually easy to pick up. I found it to be one of the more fun NEOGEO games, simply because I absolutely hate fighting games.
