Introduction:
Albert and Otto is a 2D puzzle platformer set in 1939’s pre-war Germany. The game adopts a monochromatic art style we’ve seen in similar platformers such as Limbo and Inside, keeping the landscape and majority of the characters limited to grayscale. One character does stand out from all the shades of grey with their bright red colouring, however, and that is the game’s titular Otto. Otto is a child’s plush bunny who seemingly happens to have some magic imparted upon him. The game’s other main character, Albert, is a small child who must use his wits along with Otto’s abilities to overcome complex puzzles and thwart off danger the pair encounters in their effort to find his missing sister, Anna.

Abbreviated Walkthrough:
The game is simple and short with only seven chapters. There are twenty-six shard collectables plus twelve mailboxes to find which will unlock "The collector" and "Pen Pals." If you miss a collectable you can use the chapter select, but the game does not tell you which one you have missed. There is only one path to follow so you can’t get lost. There will be two boss fights where you need to beat them without dying; they will unlock "Hammer time" and "The charmer." If you do die on a boss, you don’t need to play the whole game again you can use the chapter select. Completing the stream without dying which is in Chapter 6: 'Here Fishy' will get you "No swimming." The rest of the achievements are straightforward and easy to unlock.

Mop-Up:
There should not much to mop up, but if you do miss any achievement to can chapter select.

Conclusion:
Overall the game is not hard and only offers twelve achievements to unlock. It could only take around an hour to complete.

  • Going the wrong way

    As soon as you start the game you will be here.

    All you need to do is turn left and jump off the side.

  • Kill a crow while in mid air

    Please refer to "180 no scope" for more information.

  • This is story-related and cannot be missed.

    The wolf is in Chapter 4. You need to feed the wolf a sheep to progress as you will keep dying and can’t go any further.

  • Collect all mail

     

    Once you collect your mail from the box it saves it, unlike the fragments.

    All the mailboxes are in your path, so you can’t really miss any.

  • Complete Episode One

    This is story-related and cannot be missed.

    You will earn this achievement upon completing the game.

  • Jump over a crow and shoot it before landing

    There are plenty of crows in the game; the first one will appear after the first mailbox. There will be a tree with a sign on saying shoot. Walk forward until the crow flies at you, now jump over it and turn around while in the air. Use your to aim and your to shoot at the crow. This will unlock both "Jump shot" and "180 no scope."

  • Collect all fragments

     

    When you collect a fragment, you do need to get a checkpoint for the fragment to save, otherwise, you will need to get it again. There are a total 26 shards to find in the game. Some of them are a little hard to find, but most are easy to find.

  • Defeat the first boss without dying

    This is the first boss fight and it appears at the end of Chapter 3.

    The boss patterns are fairly simple to remember. The first thing you want to do is drop Otto in the first pressure pad. Now jump over to the far right one and wait for the boss to slam its fist on the platform you are standing on. So, you now want to jump to the middle platform to drop the rock on it. Then it will shoot a laser starting from the side you're standing on. Next, it will slam its fist again, so jump on the middle to drop the rock. After that, it will fire two lasers. Then one more slam to drop the rock and it will be dead.

    If you don’t manage to get it on your first try just load up Chapter 3: 'Let Sleeping Giants Lie' and try again.

  • Defeat the second boss without dying

    This boss is at the end of Chapter 7. The section will involve you riding a large crate down a river while solving puzzles and dodging attacks from a robot dragon.

    The achievement begins as soon as you jump on the crate. As you start, look for a ledge above you and double jump up to it to avoid the dragon's fire. On the next landing, drop Otto down the slide and wait for the gate to open. Quickly pick up Otto and jump back to the floating crate. As soon as you land on the floating crate, be ready to jump to the next landing. Now grab the sheep and turn around on the crate, so the sheep is facing upstream. When the snake grabs the sheep, turn around quickly and jump over the two spikes. Aim your telepathy up and to the right; you'll need to quickly grab the rock on a platform above you. Now double jump to dunk the rock into the tube ahead. Jump over another spike and be ready to shoot a crow waiting on a branch ahead of you. Shoot the crow and jump over the last spike. Ahead, you'll see a rock above a landing. Grab the rock and hold it above as you run to the right. When you reach a short drop, keep double jumping to dunk the rock into the tube. Fall into the gap and it will collapse, you'll fall into the water and the achievement will unlock.

    If you don’t manage to get it on your first try just load up Chapter 7: 'Into the Dark' and try again.

  • Make it down the stream without dying

    The stream starts when you get to this point in Chapter 6. If you die you will need to start the chapter again.

    Shoot the rocks above you and jump on the crate. Next get the box off the platform and carefully place it on the presser plate in front of you. Now get the rock off the next platform, hold it above your head and dunk it in the pipe. After that jump over the spikes and get the box. Put it on another presser plate. Get back on the create and jump over two lots of spikes, then get the box off the next platform and hop on the create. Now drop the box on the presser plate and let go of Otto. When Otto reaches the electric box press your button, plus pick Otto at the end. Now you need to do the same as before. It will be harder, and you will need to catch Otto at the end. Then double jump and land back on the create. After that grab the rock and dunk it in the pipe to continue. When you get to the wall you will need to double jump. Once on land get the box and move it slightly back and drop Otto in the gap. Now that is done get on the box and jump to the platform. When Otto has slid onto the catapult, jump on the other end and shoot Otto to the electric box and press to continue (remember to pick Otto back up). Lastly get back on the create and there will be a crow in front of you, shoot it and that will be the end of the stream ride.

    If you don’t manage to get it on your first try just load up Chapter 6: 'Here Fishy' and try again.

  • Complete Episode One with 5 deaths or less

    This achievement is glitched; you can die as many times as you want and the achievement will still unlock.
