Introduction
Welcome to The Amazing Spider-Man 2 achievement guide. This is a nice little movie tie-in and quite an easy game to complete. Like any other Spider-Man games there are some collectables to find, but not as many as the first Amazing Spider-Man game. Everything is pretty straight forward, but a bit of grinding out XP will be required for the completion.
Story Mode
For starters I want to highly recommend that you switch suits once the one you're wearing is maxed out. This will save you a lot of time when you go for the grind of maxing out all the suits. Keeping your Hero status up will get you more XP.
Start out Super Hero difficulty. The game isn't all that hard so you might as well only do one playthrough. Just don't change the difficulty until AFTER you've completed the story. There are only 14 main missions, straight forward and fairly short.
Collectables
There aren't nearly as many collectables as the first Amazing Spider-Man game, and even then you don't necessarily have to collect them all. There are only 5 within story missions and 5 within the open city for the "Lover" achievement. The only other collectable you'll need are the comic pages. There are 300 but you'll only need 285 for the achievement. Once you fully upgrade Spider Sense these will show up on your mini map and you'll be able to find them easier while in Spider Sense.
Side Missions
You can do side missions in between story missions or after you complete story mode. If you're having trouble with any of the side missions, save them after you complete story mode. You can lower the difficulty and it will not affect any of the side mission achievements. There are some side missions that aren't linked to achievements and I'd advise to just stay away from them as they don't really offer much XP. The ones you'll want to do are:
Building on Fire Situations: 10
Deadlock Situations: 10
Petty Crime Situations: 10
Rescue Situations: 10
Combat Challenges: All 12 (found in the comic shop)
Hideouts: All 5
Photo Investigations: All 30
Races: All 15
Maxing Out All Suits
This is really tedious as you won't even have half of the suits upgraded once you're done with the story and the required side missions. Luckily you can load up the last chapter and grind out the needed XP. See "Ultimate Spider-Man" for the specific details.
Conclusion
The game is fairly easy and quite fun. Just remember to change suits once you max one out, try to keep your Hero status up, and do NOT change the difficulty until after you've completed story mode.
