Blackwater is a fps rail game which means you can’t control where you walk to. However I think that this adds to the excitement of having to quickly take everyone out and hide behind imaginary boxes in my room and keeping my hand in the shape of a pistol to keep the spirit of the game. If you calibrate your Kinect and make sure that have enough room then this game can be really fun. A controller can also be used instead of Kinect but then there is no forced rolling behind cover in your room.
Note: This game has collectables for you to shoot at while shooting the hundreds of enemies. However they are all very easy to spot and you should have them all by the end of all your playthroughs. So just keep an open eye and these are simple. There is a total of 114 collectables to shoot.
Step 1: Easy Difficulty
For this playthrough you should start off with the tutorial and then get started with the game and learn how it plays. In this game cover is your best friend, so make sure to always crouch in cover and shoot from there. Going through this playthrough you will get several other achievements and will get about 240.
Step 2: Normal Difficulty
During this playthrough you will get the rest of your killing achievements and maybe the rest of your collectables depending on how much care you have taken in collecting them. The harder difficulties can be very challenging using Kinect and very tiring. On this playthrough I used Kinect which made it hard but not impossible. After you have done this playthrough you should be on about 390.
Step 3: Hard Difficulty
This play through is going to be the one that give you the least Gamerscore and it’s going to be the hardest. However if you have completed the other play difficulties then you will be getting good at the game and you will know what to do and where to aim. I tried this difficulty using my Kinect but it was really hard to stay in cover all the time. So I decided to use a control for this and it’s actually very easy and I did this play through in 2 hours and you will finish it on 450.
Step 4: Competitive maps
This will be quite a short step but very boring. You will need to play all 3 maps of the competitive arenas and do it with 8 people. These missions will take you about 10 minutes each making it a total of 30 minutes. Doing these missions will give you a very crazy 10 taking you to a total of about 460.
Step 5: Hardcore Grinding
Well this is the part where if you are already suffering from body twitches or mental breakdowns then you should stop here and go no further. Or however if you are still pumped and ready for more then you need to go and complete the campaign probably another 10+ times to get to level 56. This is probably going to take you about 15-30 hours to do this so make sure to be prepared. If you are crazy and manage to do this then it will give you some crazy and take you up to about 740.
Step 6: Clean Up
The rest of the achievements that you will be going for now should be fairly short and fairly easy. If don’t have all the QTE’s then refer to Tired Yet? for places to boost. You will also be getting Bravo! and if you haven’t already then you will need to go back onto certain levels to take the different paths to get you Recon Master.
This game is quite a long 1000 and the speech that gets repeated could get really stale. If there are any missions that are impossible for you then try using a controller as it’s easier, but I really hope this guide can help you and good luck
