Introduction:
Cat Quest II is a 2D open-world action-RPG set in a fantasy realm of cats and dogs. Under threat from a continuing war between the cats of Felingard and the advancing dogs of the Lupus Empire, CAT QUEST II tells the tail of two kings, brought together against their will, on a journey of paw-some discovery to reclaim their thrones. Play as both a cat and dog as you explore their kingdoms solo or with a friend! Quest in a world filled with magic, curious monsters, and go on a catventure like never before!

Step 1: Complete the Story
You can begin the game on Story difficulty if you prefer, there's no reason to play on anything higher unless you want a challenge. Nothing in the game is missable, so feel free to play through the story leisurely, though doing side-quests and completing any dungeon you come across is a good idea for the experience to keep the main quest on track. Once you complete the story, you'll still have access to the entire map and can then begin working on the lengthy process to getting 100% completion.

Step 2: Complete all Side-Quests and Dungeons / Collect All Equipment
Once you've completed the main quest you'll have access to the entire map and can then begin working on mopping up the rest of the achievements. You need to find and complete every side-quest. These should take you to the rest of the dungeons in the game, so be sure to loot every chest inside those to complete them as you go. This will also give you the majority of the equipment in the game. Once you complete the side-quests on Founders Island II, you will earn the golden key which will allow you to open the golden chests on the world map. These chests will contain the remainder of the game's equipment. Once you have completed every quest, dungeon, and found all gold chests you should have the last of the game's achievements. Congrats!

Conclusion:
Cat Quest II is a very relaxing, enjoyable Action-RPG. The story isn't anything too interesting, but if you have younger kids and want a co-op game to play with them, this is a very good option. With nothing missable and a completion under 15 hours, it's a great choice for achievement hunters as well.

There are 10 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Reached level 99!

This sounds like it would be grindy, but experience in this game is extremely plentiful and you'll hit this well before you finish completing all the dungeons and finding all the equipment. In fact, this isn't even the level cap and you'll be well past this by the time you complete the rest of the achievements.
  • Cleared all 73 dungeons!

When you come to a dungeon entrance, you may find one of three things near its name: a question mark means it is unexplored, a half-filled diamond means you have missed collecting something inside or a side-quest will bring you here later, or nothing which means the dungeon is complete. You will also get a notification inside a dungeon when you "complete" it by collecting all chests and doing all quests that take place there. The game also tracks this on the left side of the menu screen, showing how many of the 73 you have done. However, it doesn't give any indication of the location of any you haven't done, so you may need to wander a bit to find the last few.
  • Completed all 67 Side Quests!

Side-quests in this game are marked by an exclamation point in a blue bubble above a character. Speak to them to accept the quest and follow the game's waypoints to complete each one. None are difficult and usually just require you to follow a waypoint, kill some enemies or collect something, then return. The game tracks this on the left side of the menu screen, showing how many of the 67 you have done. However, it doesn't give any indication of the location of any you haven't done, so you may need to wander a bit to find the last few.
  • Completed the Main Quest!

Story related and can not be missed.
  • Obtained all 12 spells!

Your magic spells will come from reading large stone runes in various areas of the game. Some are in dungeons while others are on the world map. You can find them in these locations:

    • Freezepaw - Brave Cave
    • Flamepurr - Brave Cave
    • Furry Shield - Cave Grotto
    • Healpaw - King Sigil Ruin Island
    • Lightnyan - North of Pound Town
    • Forcewoofer - Far-fetched Cave
    • Manapaw - North of Barkara Desert Entrance
    • Purrserk - Whisk Cove
    • Cattrap - Island with Drakoth’s Vault
    • Gravi-ruff - Tomb of The Follower
    • Astropaw - Island North of Twin Towns
    • Celestail - Cactus Cave
Once you have collected all 12, the achievement will unlock.
  • Obtained all 101 pieces of equipment!

Equipment in this game is all given out either as quest rewards, or unlocked from chests inside dungeons and the golden chests on the world map. Once you have completed all the side-quests, make sure you search the map thoroughly to find all the golden chests for your last pieces of equipment. The game tracks this on the left side of the menu screen, showing how many of the 101 you have collected. However, it doesn't give any indication of the location of any you haven't collected, so you may need to wander a bit to find the last few.
  • Entered the new continent!

Story related and can not be missed.
