Crackdown is a great game that unfortunately took the collectibles idea way too far. In addition the cars you must collect there are 800, yes 800, orbs that must be collected for achievements. Other than the collecting achievements, the rest of the list is very fair and sometimes rather fun to do.

Welcome to Crackdown. This game has a total of 50 achievements and requires only one playthrough to get 1250. Of the achievements 9 are unlocked simply by playing through the story and 3 are gained by playing mini-games that are separate from story mode. The remaining 39 achievements are achieved by accomplishing variety of different tasks.

Also, this game has a cooperative game play feature. Although only three achievements require you to play with a partner over LIVE, you can do virtually every achievement with a partner. This will make things go faster for you and also a lot less frustrating. If you don't have anyone on your friends list with this game, you can find a partner in the forums.

Step 1: Preparation
Before beginning your playthrough, it is important to set up your orb collecting checklists. Candied Skull has made a terrific site, HERE, that will answer most of your Crackdown questions. A list of pictures and locations of all orbs can also be found HERE.

Step 2: Play the Game

Note: All progress made through co-op will only be rewarded the to player hosting. All skills and supply points will be saved for the player joining, but story progression will not.

As you play through the game, alone or with a friend, the main thing you need to do is track what orbs you collect. If you don't do this, you will most likely end up with one or two orbs left and have no idea where to look for them.

Step 3: Mop Up
Once you complete the game and watch the ending, you will no longer have to worry about gang members. This is the best time to get all of the achievements that don't require you to kill anyone. Having a buddy in the game with you while you do this will be a tremendous asset.

Step 4: Street Racing, Time Trials and Resurrection
This is the last step. For the street racing achievements, follow the advice posted here. This will make the achievement very quick and easy to get. Next you'll need to beat all the Time Trials on psychotic difficulty. The best advice for this is to have a coop partner. Last, you can resurrect the gangs and go for any of the remaining achievements.

That's it! If you've gotten to this point and followed my advice you should have 1250g. If you're still lost on an achievement, YouTube has a load of videos that you may find helpful.

There are 50 achievements with a total of 1250 points

  • Bomb your way to a 4-star Explosives rating

Every time you kill an enemy with an explosion, your explosives rating goes up. When you kill a civilian or police officer in the same way, it goes down. Explosions can be gained with rocket/grenade launchers, grenades/mines, or shooting explosive barrels or cars. The single best tool for this is the Firefly rocket launcher, which homes in on the target. The Firefly rocket launcher can be found in the Shai-Gen territory in the possession of gang members on the roofs of buildings.

An easy way to obtain the Firefly is to start a Co-Op game with a friend that has it, kill him, pick up the Firefly, and go to a supply point.

You will also get a small amount of Explosives rating by finding a hidden orb. (See "Orb Hunter")

  • Run & jump your way to a 4-star Agility rating

    Agility rating increases by:

    - Finding Agility Orbs. (See "Free Runner")
    - Completing Rooftop Races. (See "Over Our Heads")
    - Finding Hidden Orbs. (See "Orb Hunter")
    - Sniping enemies from a great height.
    - You will get a one-time Agility increase by climbing the Agency Tower. (See "High Flyer")

These are in decreasing order of efficiency.

  • Accelerate and slide your way to a 4-star Driving rating

Driving rating will increase as you:

    - Kill enemies by running them over
    - Beat Road Races (see "Road Warrior")
    - Jump through Stunt Markers (see "Ring Leader")
    - Do stunts (see "Stunt Driver")
    - Collect Hidden Orbs (see "Orb Hunter")

The quickest way to get your Driving rating up is to kill enemies by running them over. The easiest way to run enemies over is to find an area full of them and fishtail by holding Reverse and Left or Right at the same time. The best place I have found to do this is the area around Los Muertos boss Violetta Sanchez before eliminating her. Just circle the building she is in or go through the court yard and run over any gang member you see. If you focus solely on this, you can max your rating in about an hour and a half or less, depending on your skill. Driving slower makes it easier as the gang members are less likely to move out of the way.

Note: Killing civilians or peacekeepers by running them over will decrease your rating.

  • Punch, jab, kick, and throw your way to a 4-star Strength rating

Your Strength rating goes up when you:
    - Kick enemies (Hit )
    - Throw objects at enemies (Hit to pick an item up, then or to drop or throw it.)

Your Strength rating will go down if you kill civilians or peacekeepers with these methods. You can also increase Strength by finding Hidden Orbs. (see "Orb Hunter")

This will probably be the first skill you max out.

  • Hit your target every time to achieve a 4-star Firearms rating

Firstly, you don't have to hit your target every time. What you do have to do is kill enemies with bullets, or explosives set off by bullets. Killing civilians or peacekeepers in this manner will bring down your rating. Remember, you can lock on to your target by pulling .

Note: Finding Hidden Orbs will also increase your rating. (See "Orb Hunter")

  • Earn 4-star ratings in all five skill areas and then max out your Skills Status meters

Once you receive 4 stars in any skill, you'll see your ratings go up still. Make your way up to 100 in that skill again and the numbers will change to "--" to indicate you are truly a master of your craft. You must level all five skills to "--" in any order or manner to earn this achievement.

Note: See the individual skill achievements for strategies on how to speed things up.

  • Mow down and massacre 175 gang members while driving

You will most likely get this achievement while getting "Agency Wheelman".

  • Make your way to the top of the Agency Tower

First things first, the Agency Tower is the tallest building in the game, the base of operations for you, and in the middle of the city on its own island.

The first third is quite easy to get up as there are ledges to grab onto and pull yourself up with. Once you can no longer do this, you should have made it to the second large flat area linking the three towers of the building together. Look around for some scaffolding to climb up onto and from there you should be able to make your way up the scaffolding to a balcony-type area on the shortest of the three towers. Take the stairs up to the walkway around the tower and run up it to the second tower.

Note: You must have at least 3 stars in agility to do this. It's far easier, though not necessary, with 4 stars. If you're still having trouble, try doing the 'Watch Your Step' Rooftop Race, located on the Agency Island. The checkpoints detail pretty well the steps you need to take to climb the Tower.

Note: After you climb the tower, stand at the top so that the center of the island is behind you. Jump on the small fence and then jump off the tower, all the way past the small lake slightly to your right to land in the water for your "Base Jumper" achievement. You can land in the lake, but there's a good chance of you missing.

  • Fire away - shoot and kill 500 gang members using firearms

You can either directly shoot your enemies, or shoot an explosive and kill the enemies with the explosion. You will unlock this while getting "Agency Marksman".

  • Kill 150 gang members with your bare hands (or thrown objects)

You will unlock this achievement on your way to "Agency Brawler".

  • Show your explosive personality - kill 500 gang members using explosives

You will unlock this achievement on your way to "Agency Explosives Expert".

  • Kill 200 gang members without dying yourself

One of the easier ways to do this is to go through the game entirely, reset the gangs, then go through the Los Muertos gangs. You should have no problem taking down 200 gang members without dying.

If you want to attempt both this achievement and "Roadkill King" at the same time, follow this strategy. Start at the Agency Keep and pick the Super-car. At maximum driving ability this car is capable of shooting enemies (use ). Don't use the vehicle's firearms to kill your enemies, just to attract them out of hiding to run them over.

Otherwise, just be very careful and try to pick off gang members from a distance. It's best to have use a sniper rifle and the Firefly and stick to reigning fire down on gang members from the rooftops.

  • Use explosives to keep a body up in the air for 10 seconds

The easiest way to achieve this is to get the Firefly (homing) rocket launcher. Find a gang member on a roof (someone from Wang's Tower works best), throw them up as high as you can, lock onto them with , and blast them with as many rockets as you can before they hit the ground.

You can also do this in Co-Op. Both of you should climb the Agency Tower, kill your friend, and use the above method with his body. If he regenerates, his body will disappear.

  • Use explosives to keep a car up in the air for seven seconds

Using the same method as Body Juggler, get a homing rocket launcher and an explosives rating of 4 stars. Locate a small vehicle and pick it up. Throw it straight up and target it with the rocket launcher and let loose.

Alternatively, you can use the method described in "Hazardous Hangtime" to get to the top of Cowell's building with a small car. You should be able to just throw it as high up as possible, hit it with one rocket, and if it hits the street, you're good.

  • Execute a 6-second jump in a vehicle

To get this achievement, jump off the wedge-shaped rock near the Sports Complex, come from the road that leads to the Royal Vista hotel to get enough speed.

Also, you can go to Cowell's building in Shai-Gen with a 4-star Agency SUV, ride the elevator up, and drive up the ramps until you get to the tallest inner level. Use the SUV's jump ability (hold ) to clear the fence, and you'll be good.

  • Achieve a height of 115 feet or more in a vehicle

Drive a vehicle up to Garcia Point and drive between the legs of the statue. If you have already eliminated the Los Muertos, the statue is not visible, so go to the Garcia Point supply point, go forward and take a left. You should be on a slanting incline and there will be a Jeep (vehicle) somewhere on your left. Take it up one more level, to the point above you, get it, and your achievement should unlock.

Alternatively, you can go to Cowell's building in Shai-Gen, bring a car into the elevator, and take it up. If you are in the vehicle, the achievement should unlock just before you reach the top.

  • Execute two forward flips in a single jump in a moving vehicle

You have to use either the Agency SUV or the Agency Buggy for this achievement.

To get this achievement, jump off the wedge-shaped rock near the Sports Complex, come from the road that leads to the Royal Vista hotel to get enough speed. Hold forward to flip twice, and make sure you land evenly.

Also, you can go to Cowell's building in Shai-Gen with a 4-star Agency SUV, ride the elevator up, and drive up the ramps until you get to the tallest inner level. Use the SUV's jump ability (hold ) to clear the fence, and you'll be good.

  • Execute six car stunts in 60 seconds

Going out of the tunnel from the Agency Tower to Los Muertos, you can see a large ferris wheel in the distance. Behind this wheel is a beach, with several small buildings. These buildings have ramps on either side, so take an Agency Buggy or SUV down there. Push forwards and to the right, or any diagonal, to get both Barrel Rolls and Flips at once. Make sure you land evenly. Do this 3 times in a minute and the achievement is yours.

  • Jump from the top of the Agency Tower and land in the water below

    See "High Flyer".

  • Successfully execute five car stunts - front & back flips, barrel rolls, a long jump

The best place to do these is the beach just west of the amusement park in La Mugre. There, with maxed-out driving ability and an Agency SUV, you can use the lifeguard tower ramps to launch over and over again. Don't forget to use the jump feature in the SUV (used by pressing with maxed-out driving skill).

You can view your progress on these at any time by going to the Pause Menu, going over to 'Agency Info', selecting 'Achievements', and scrolling down.

  • Collect 300 Hidden Orbs

Find and collect all 300 hidden orbs in game. Can be rather annoying if you do them out of order so your best bet is to use the map below, mark off each orb as you collect it, and finishing one territory/island before starting another.

Note: To enlarge the image, right-click and select 'View Image'. Then magnify.

  • Collect 500 Agility Orbs

Agility orbs are basically like the hidden orbs except they increase your agility and are only found off the ground, usually on rooftops, ledges and signs on the sides of buildings. Again, the easiest way to find all 500 agility orbs is to use the same technique described for the "Orb Hunter" achievement above and mark them off as you go using the map below.

Note: To enlarge the image, right-click and select 'View Image'. Then magnify.

  • Commandeer 100 gang-controlled vehicles

Simply press to get in a car that a gang member is in. You'll know if they are in the car because it has the gang's marker above it. Easiest to do during the Timbol Time Trial which is found in the Shai-Gen territory. Start the trial and do not shoot. An infinite number of gang vehicles will spawn and the drivers will not exit the car as long as you do not shoot. Hijack as many cars as you can and repeat until you've done 100.

  • Locate all Los Muertos dossier targets

    See "Shai-Gen Intel Master".

  • Locate all Volk dossier targets

    See "Shai-Gen Intel Master".

  • Locate all Shai-Gen dossier targets

Your 'dossier targets' are the 7 gang bosses that you must eliminate. To get this achievement, you must find the locations of all the bosses of any gang. You don't have to kill them or anything, simply find them. A map of all boss locations can be found in the "Ring Leader" achievement.

  • Eliminate the first of 21 gang bosses

Kill any of the 21 gang bosses. Refer to the map in "Shai-Gen Intel Master" for each location.

  • Murder Los Muertos - kill all Los Muertos gang members

    See "The Trifecta".

  • Eviscerate the Volk - take out all Volk gang members

    See "The Trifecta".

  • Assassinate Shai-Gen - kill all Shai-Gen gang members

    See "The Trifecta".

  • Wipe the city clean by taking out all members of all three gangs

After you kill all 7 bosses of any gang, the final members of the gang will form a mob, which is marked by a star on your map. Once you clear out the mob, the gang is eliminated, and you will get the corresponding achievement for it. Once all three are gone, you will get "The Trifecta".

  • Wreak havoc in 60-second increments

There are 6 'sub-achievements' to unlock rampage, meaning that you have 6 different goals to accomplish to unlock one Achievement. You do not have to complete these goals in any specific time frame, as long as they are all on the same save file.

The 6 goals are as follows:

    1. Blow up 25 gang-controlled vehicles in 60 seconds - Use rockets or grenades. Get a hit squad to come after you by killing enough gang members or a boss, get on a highway, and fire away. You can do this with parked and empty gang vehicles, but you can usually only find these cars in a garage, in which case you probably won't be able to get 25 of them in enough time.
    2. Kill 15 gang members with your bare hands or thrown objects in 60 seconds - You can easily get this in a Los Muertos boss location. Just jump right into battle and keep mashing . If you keep dying, wait until after you finish the game and max out your stats, then go back in Time Trial mode and do this.
    3. Shoot and kill 15 gang members in 60 seconds - Simply go into a boss location with a Harpoon Gun, which is available with the paid DLC, and fire away. You can do this with any weapon, but the Harpoon Gun is a one-shot kill for most enemies.
    4. Use explosives to kill 25 gang members in 60 seconds - This is the easiest one to get. Go into any boss location with a rocket launcher and some grenades, and blast away.
    5. Use a vehicle to run over 10 gang members in 60 seconds - Use the technique described in "Agency Wheelman".
    6. Pop 20 tires on gang-controlled vehicles in 60 seconds - This is probably the hardest one to get. Remember that 'gang-controlled' means that it must be a gang car, it does not have to be occupied. Go to a gang's garage, for example, underneath Cowell's building in Shai-Gen. Go in with a weapon with a large clip, pull , then press Down on to lock onto the tires. Rinse and repeat until you have 20 done. Try to get the 6-wheeled cars, as they go by in almost the same amount of time, and you'll only have to aim 7 times instead of 10.

You can view your progress on these at any time by going to the Pause Menu, going over to 'Agency Info', selecting 'Achievements', and scrolling down.

  • Unlock your first Supply Point

Simply go to any supply point outside of the Agency island and use it. See "It's Good To Be Connected" for supply point locations.

  • Unlock all Supply Points

There are 15 supply points to locate. Find, travel to, and use all supply points on your map. A map of all Supply Points can be found below and are identfied by the orange Agency symbol.

Note: To enlarge the image, right-click and select 'View Image'. Then magnify.

  • Shoot and kill 5 gang members in a single jump (while airborne)

This can easily be unlocked while traveling the rooftops of the Shai-Gen territory. Play on 'Tough', equip a rocket launcher and travel from roof to roof. When you find a squad of soldiers of five or more, aim at the middle of them (for maximum splash damage and efficiency) and shoot. Depending on the height you get, you can get off another shot on a second group, which will probably guarantee the achievement. You can also do this during a during the final mob uprising of each gang. There will be plenty of cars and enemies centered around a small area, which will make it very easy.

  • Throw any object (other than a grenade) 205 feet or more

Near the top of the Agency Tower, there are wall light fixtures, one on every mini-tower. Shoot one with your gun a few times and it will fall. Just pick it up and throw it off. If it goes into the water, you're good.

  • Kill 15 gang members using the Observatory Globe

Go to the Observatory in the Northernmost area in the Volk Den and blow up the large globe structure in the courtyard. After dislodging the globe, kick it, punch it, or throw it over 15 enemies. Make sure you do not get the globe in the water, as you will have to restart the game if this happens.

  • Drive through all of the unique Stunt Markers

Wait until you have maxed out driving skill (see "Agency Wheelman") and get an Agency SUV (for the jump ability) to reach the stunt rings. The tricky thing about the stunt markers is they will only be visible when you drive near them, and in some cases, only when you drive at them from a certain angle.

  • Blow up 100 explosive objects in 60 seconds

This achievement can be easily unlocked with a Limpet Grenade charge and a few rockets. Head to the La Mugre pier by the beach and find the series of explosive barrels at the end of the pier. Follow them to the end furthest from the carnival, place a charge on the first barrel, and detonate it. The explosion will travel across almost all of the barrels. When they blow up, run about halfway down the pier and look at the second floor of the large house to your left. Shoot a rocket at the door closest to you and go back to the barrels at the end of the pier, as they should have respawned by now. Keep shooting these spots as they respawn and your achievement should unlock.

  • Double your fun - complete your first mission in Co-op mode

    See "Tag Teamer".

  • Partner up and complete every mission in Co-op mode

A mission in the game is any of the bosses, so you'll want to start a Co-Op game with a friend and then kill all of the bosses. This can be done either in time trial or campaign on any difficulty. However, campaign can be glitchy, and you can also complete "Psych Out" along with this if you do it on Time Trial Psychotic Difficulty. It doesn't matter who kills the boss, you will both get credit as long as the boss is dead.

  • Successfully complete all 14 Road Races

Road Races are not to be confused with Street Races. Road Races are accessible through the Campaign mode by driving a vehicle into a large glowing purple area. The Agency Race Car, which comes with the DLC, is the best-suited car for most races. You must beat the target time to count the Race.

You can check your progress by going to the Pause Menu and selecting 'Agency Info', 'Achievements', and scrolling almost all the way down.

  • Successfully complete all 12 Rooftop Races

Complete all of the original 12 Rooftop Races within the target time. More have been made available with the DLC, but you only need to do the ones on the list accessible by going to the Pause Menu and selecting 'Agency Info', 'Achievements', and scrolling almost all the way down.

The 'Goin' Home' Race may give you trouble, but remember that you can use a car for this race or any other. One will be provided for you just before Checkpoint 10, and you can use it to go all the way to the Agency Tower.

DLC: Free-For-All Pack (Store Link)

There are 2 achievements with a total of 140 points

  • Impound all flagged vehicles and store them in the Agency Garage

To check the cars you need, go to the garage. If a car is completely faded out, you need it. For a guide on finding the cars, CLICK HERE. Note that you do not have to bring the car back in any sort of working order. If it's the chunk of metal that's left after you blow it up, it still counts as long as you get it back to the Agency Garage

  • Complete all Time Trial missions at the Psychotic difficulty level

From the main menu, select 'Time Trials'. To unlock all Time Trials, you must beat the Campaign mode. Make sure the difficulty is set to Psychotic, and complete them all in any amount of time. It helps to have maxed out your Firearms, Explosives, and Strength, and definitely helps to do it with a friend.

DLC: Getting Busy Bonus Pack (Store Link)

There are 5 achievements with a total of 210 points

  • Complete any Stockpile mini-game in Co-op mode in fewer than 2 minutes and 30 seconds

Stockpile mini-games are done in Campaign, and can be found via a white marker on your HUD. Stockpile requires you to collect 100 white orbs. The orbs are set up in a linear fashion, however, the line sometimes splits. Simply have one player make a left every time and the other make a right every time to counter this problem. It should come easily, as long as you don't fall off of something.

  • Win every Street Race using any vehicle(s)

    See "Street Racer Elite".

  • Win every Street Race using all available vehicles

You must complete all six races with each car available, which means you'll be playing each race about 6 times each. You can attempt to do this legit, or you can try the following method:

    1. As soon as the race starts, get out of your car.
    2. Go around and find whatever you can to make a blockade.
    3. Stand about 100 yards ahead of the blockade, on the left side of the race. The cars should pass you on their left before they get to the blockade.
    4. When the first car passes you, pull to lock onto the car and hit left to lock onto the gas tank. A single shot will send the car into flames.
    5. You may be able to get the second or third ones before they crash into the blockade. At any rate, you should get about 5-6 cars the first pass.
    6. Don't chase after any cars that slip through, just let them go.
    7. Rebuild the blockade
    8. Repeat steps 3-5 until you're the only car left in the race. Then, just get into your car and complete the race at your leisure.
  • Execute 3 flips of any type in a single jump in any vehicle

Your best bet is to use the Agency Buggy from the Agency Garage and drive off the top or near the top of Cowell's building in Shai-Gen. You must do flips. Barrel Rolls do not count.

  • Use the Harpoon gun to attach 5 gang member corpses to a single vehicle

As the description says, you mus use the harpoon gun, which is given to you with the DLC. Try doing this one during the Garcia Time Trial. Turn right at the beginning and you'll see 5 guys crowded around a car. Shoot them, making sure you and them line up with the car so they stick to it. You can also kill members, drop them on the car, and shoot them on from above. The harpoons do start to disappear after a minute of so, but that should be plenty of time.
