How to Romance Judy in Cyberpunk 2077

XBA Staff

Judy Alvarez, AKA Punchin’ Judy, Night City’s infamous Braindance expert, is a romanceable character in Cyberpunk 2077, but in order to initiate the romance, you must do a few things and be wary of a few things beforehand. Here’s how to romance Judy in Cyberpunk 2077.

First things first, Judy can only be romanced in Cyberpunk 2077 if you select two specific options in the character creation screen at the beginning of the game: a feminine body-type and a feminine voice. Yes, Judy is a lesbian. If you don’t select those two options, Judy is unfortunately not a romance option for you. For a list of all possible romance options, head to our romance options guide here.

In order to romance Judy, you need to have progressed far enough in the story and the romance only really starts to take shape after you've completed “The Information,” “Automatic Love,” “The Space In Between,” “Disasterpiece” and “Double Life” - all of which are main missions which involve Judy.

After those main missions Judy will call V - about 24-hours later, in-game - which will initiate the side quest “Both Sides, Now” (the dialogue choices do not matter in this quest though). Completing said quest will effectively kick-off Judy Alvarez’s romance questline. When the following quests crop up, complete them, but be wary of a few things:

  • Ex-Factor (dialogue choices don’t matter here), after completing the quest, 24 hours later the next quest will pop up;
  • Talkin’ ‘Bout a Revolution - make sure to pick when you’re offered money “Forget about it. It’s passed,” before choosing “Sure, thanks!” Around 48 hours after finishing this quest, the next quest pops;
  • Pisces - make sure to pick the following dialogue options in this quest when they pop up: “Let’s do this”, then “Who are the other two?”, then “Do my best. Jack ‘em out”, then “Hold on, think you’ve gone too far”, then “Let’s cut to the quick”. After killing the gang bosses, say, “What?”, then “You tried to cheat us all!” and then kill Maiko. It’s reportedly possible to still romance Judy if you agree with Maiko’s scheme but don’t take payment, but honestly, it’s not worth the risk. Just kill Maiko to make sure.

Once you’ve done all of those, the next quest that will pop up is the final Judy romance mission, “Pyramid Song,” which will conclude the Judy romance sequence, which will start with a phone call a week or so later.

If you want to get down and dirty with Judy and initiate her sex scene, what you choose in Pyramid Song does make a difference to some respect. For instance, you actually have to accept the invitation to stay the night (by saying, “Why not” when she asks you). Yes, very obvious, but worth saying. If you say “Bad idea” then your chance is gone.

And finally, when in the bathroom, if you want to initiate the romance scene, there are a couple of options here (both timed too). The first one is “[Touch]It is ours”, but you can also select “[Comfort] Why didn’t you tell me” and then hit “[Kiss] Stop thinking about it.” If you miss either of these chances, the chance and the moment is gone, so load a recent autosave.

After the romance scene if you want V to enter into a relationship with Judy, make sure to select “The beginning of something amazing,” which will initiate the relationship. If you want to just remain friends, then select “A pleasant distraction.” If you choose the latter Judy will be angry, removing V from her contacts and at some point leave Night City.

Where is Judy’s apartment?
Judy’s apartment is found in Kabuki, Watson, in the apartment blocks on Charter Street (nearest fast travel), on the second floor.

Is there anything you can get from romancing Judy?
Aside from a sweet romance story and a connection with V, there sure is! Aside from getting constant text messages and speaking to Judy’s grandmother, you can also get your hands on her shotgun, called the Mox. Actually, you can get this if you reject her too and she leaves Night City, but that doesn’t sound as nice, does it? Still, you need to do the “Pyramid Song” mission to get this shotgun.
