Destiny is a co-op shooter/RPG hybrid from Bungie. The game is set around a somewhat dumbed down MMO framework, and focuses on action and loot over story and substance. The game itself is grindy, as are the achievements. If that is not your type of game, Destiny may not be for you. If you love the idea of gearing up with friends and taking down waves of enemies and tough bosses, it's a very fun game.

Step 1: Setup
The first thing you'll want to do is create an account at bungie.net and link your Gamertag. This will be required to join a clan which is required for a few achievements later in the game. It is also worth bookmarking the Legend page which will help you track your gear, bonuses, daily/weekly missions, and weekly marks. Once you're set with that, load up the game and pick a Class that suits you. Once in-game, you are able to create or request to join a clan via bungie.net (inexplicably there is no clan management in-game).

To create a clan, visit this page online. To join a clan, you'll need the link to the clan or you can search by name, then click "Request to Join" - once one of the clan leaders accept you, you're in! Now that you've got your character all setup and in a clan, it's time to begin.

Step 2: Story
Play through the main story missions first, while looking for dead ghosts (Ghost Hunter achievement), gold chests (better loot), materials (Spinmetal, etc - "Packing Heat"/"Fully Weaponized" achievements), public events ("Public Defender" achievement), and Engrams ("Decryptologist" achievement), as well as completing bounties as they become available to level up more quickly. Try for as many precision shots as possible for the "Bane" achievements as well. You'll get a number of story related achievements and other miscellaneous achievements along the way without really trying.

Step 3: PVP
Once you have completed the story and leveled up a bit, you'll be ready for PVP. Because you use the same character from your story mode, starting this too early will leave you at a disadvantage against higher level players. You'll need to play 34-50 matches in a single week (34 if you win all of them, 50 if you lose all of them) to max your Crucible marks, and during those matches you should pick up all the other achievements as well.

Step 4: Strikes and Farming
Completing Strikes, earning rep from various factions, and farming materials to get higher level gear will help you level up to where you need to be for the final step of the game, the Raids. After Level 20, the only way to actually increase in "Level" is to equip gear with a "Light" rating. The amount of Light required for each level can be found here. You will also want to make some friends and/or join a large clan to work on the Strike achievements and ultimately the Raid achievements.

Step 5: Raids
Raids are hard. Like, insanely so. You will need a completely decked out character and five friends who are likewise geared to the highest possible standard. You'll also want to be in a clan with those friends, and be able to communicate and coordinate with them well during the missions. They are not too different from Strikes, though there is less direction from the game on what to do, and as I mentioned, the difficulty is ramped up significantly.

Step 5: Mop Up
You should not have much left to do achievement-wise, unless you never played the other two characters to get their Mastery achievements. If you're still somehow missing anything else, check the individual achievement descriptions for help. If you've cleared Step 5, you'll be able to get any other achievement with ease.

DLC: The Taken King

The Taken King is the third expansion for Destiny, and by far the largest. It starts the second year of Destiny and brings with it a number of long-requested changes to the game that cut down on some of the grinding that was present in Year 1. 

Step 1 - The Taken King Quests:
You will need a Guardian at level 25 to begin The Taken King's content. You will receive a Spark of Light from the Postmaster to boost a character to this level (which you can use for a secondary character if you already have one at 25 or higher). Once you log in, travel to Phobos in the Mars region to begin the quests. After the first story mission, you can complete the sub-class quest for your main character.

As you progress and complete the main story content, other quests will open up from Petra and Variks in The Reef and many of the characters in The Tower. Work on all of them to begin and complete the other quest achievements. A few can not be completed until you are inside the raid (Step 2). Collect the Calcified Fragments as you go. You will need 45 of the 50 available.

Step 2 - King's Fall Raid:
The King's Fall raid requires that the host be level 40 to begin, and it is suggested that the Light Level of characters be around 290, while you are able to enter at 270 (not recommended). Completing the raid on Hard difficulty will unlock both achievements, but you'll want to beat it on Normal first to familiarize yourself with the mechanics and gain some of its loot to help you on Hard.

Continue from Step 1 for the few quests that require actions inside the raid to complete both steps, as well as collecting the few Calcified Fragments found in the raid.

Step 3 - Other Sub-Class Quests:
You will need to each class at Level 25 to begin and complete their respective quests to unlock their third sub-classes. Do so for your other two characters to complete the final two achievements.

Note: If you unlock these achievements in one version of Destiny (be it 360 or One), you can load up the other generation's version and unlock them automatically without owning the content. 

Note 2: Similar to vanilla Destiny, if you complete the requirements of an achievement and it does not unlock, use this method to force them to pop.

Note 3: Some of the quests are buggy in that the quest-giver will not have an indication above their head like they should. If you think a new quest should be available, talk to the person anyway and it will likely be there.

Rise of Iron DLC

Rise of Iron is the fourth expansion for Destiny. It starts the third year of Destiny and brings with it a number of changes, a new social space and PVP game mode, higher Light levels, and just generally more content to dive into. It is available for $29.99 on its own, or as part of a few bundles with extra content.

Step 1: Rise of Iron Quests
There are a number of basic story quests to complete ("Mountain Climber" and "The Young Wolf"), as well as additional quests from Trya Karn ("Student of History") and Shiro-4 ("Eye for an Eye") to look out for. You'll also need to delve into the new PVP game mode for a quest ("Supremacy"). You can also perform the song in the Iron Temple at any point ("Sing the Iron Song").

Step 2: Archon's Forge
After completing the main story for Rise or Iron, you'll be able to collect offerings and enter the Archon's Forge to complete an encounter ("Forging Ahead").

Step 3: Wrath of the Machine Raid
Continue to work on the many activities found in Destiny to get your Light level up, as the normal difficulty raid suggests 360, and will require a minimum of 340 to begin. The Heroic raid will suggest 380 and require 360 to begin. If you manage to complete the raid on Heroic first, both achievements ("Spliced" and "Splicer God") will unlock at the same time.

Note: Similar to vanilla Destiny, if you complete the requirements of an achievement and it does not unlock, use this method to force them to unlock.

  • Reverse a decision you made in an upgrade grid.

    Upgrade grids are found on both your character and various weapons. Gaining experience will unlock new abilities for yourself, and/or an equipped weapon. The "decisions" for your character grid start at Level 7 when you unlock your second option for grenades. You may get a decision on a weapon earlier than that. Once you have a choice (where the options are above each other), simply switch from whatever option you've already selected to whatever is directly below it to unlock the achievement.

  • Rebuild a Jumpship.

    Story related and can not be missed.

    Complete the mission "Restoration" and return to the Tower to receive your ship.

  • Kill 25 Cabal with precision shots in 1 mission without dying.

    A precision shot is essentially a critical hit, and in this instance requires a killing blow by headshot. If successful the enemy's head will disappear as a wisp of smoke escapes from their body. Cabal enemies are found exclusively on Mars. This can be obtained during any story mission, or while doing a Patrol session. Probably best done with a Hunter using its sniper rifle, both for ease of the headshot itself and for keeping your distance so you won't get killed.

  • Decrypt 25 Engrams.

    Engrams are items that can be found or purchased, and subsequently decrypted by Master Rahool in the Tower to award a piece of loot and rep toward the Cryptarch faction. You should have no issue getting 25 through the main story via drops alone, but it will easily come while farming for the end game Raid achievements, so don't waste your glimmer purchasing any.

  • Dismantle 50 pieces of armor or weapons.

    To dismantle an item, simply hold X over the desired item in your inventory screen. It will disappear, awarding you with some Glimmer and possibly materials for higher level gear if it was a rarer item with any upgrades unlocked. This tracks over multiple characters and will unlock after the 50th dismantle combined.

  • Obtain and equip a piece of Exotic gear.

    Exotic gear is Yellow in color. An Exotic item is guaranteed from decrypting an Exotic Engram, and is also possible from a Legendary Engram. You can also get Exotic items from Raids and Exotic bounties, as well as from Xur, Agent of the Nine who will appear somewhere in the Tower on the weekends from 2am PST/5am EST/9am GMT on Friday through the same time of day on Sunday. Gear from him is purchased with Strange Coins, which are only guaranteed to be received from doing a Weekly Strike (only rewarded for the first time you complete it each week), but can also be dropped randomly or possibly decrypted from some class-specific Engrams.

  • Obtain and equip a new personal vehicle.

    Story related and can not be missed.

    Obtained during "The Warmind" on Earth.

  • Have all armor and weapon slots equipped with Legendary or Exotic gear.

    For this achievement you will need to fill all eight item slots with at least Legendary (purple) gear, or any combination of that and Exotic (yellow) gear. You will need three weapons and five armor pieces. You can only equip one Exotic weapon and one piece of Exotic armor at a time, so the majority of your gear will be Legendary.

  • Kill 25 Fallen with precision shots in 1 mission without dying.

    A precision shot is essentially a critical hit, and in this instance requires a killing blow by headshot. If successful the enemy's head will disappear as a wisp of smoke escapes from their body. Fallen enemies are found mainly on Earth. This can be obtained during any story mission, or while doing a Patrol session. Probably best done with a Hunter using its sniper rifle, both for ease of the headshot itself and for keeping your distance so you won't get killed.

  • Attain a Grimoire score of 777.

    Grimoire score is basically a number that shows how much you've played Destiny. It tracks over all your characters (and is shared by them), and goes up based on everything in the game. Getting kills, completing missions, participating in PVP, etc. You can see your score in-game on your character's name plate or online here. This will unlock once you hit a score of 780 or more (there is no way to land on exactly 777, 780 is the closest) and there is no reason to go out of your way to do anything for this score. You will unlock it well before you finish the rest of the achievements.

  • Kill 25 Hive with precision shots in 1 mission without dying.

    A precision shot is essentially a critical hit, and in this instance requires a killing blow by headshot. If successful the enemy's head will disappear as a wisp of smoke escapes from their body. Hive enemies are found mainly on the Moon. This can be obtained during any story mission, or while doing a Patrol session. Probably best done with a Hunter using its sniper rifle, both for ease of the headshot itself and for keeping your distance so you won't get killed.

  • Inspect another player.

    The quickest way to inspect a player is to pause the game with the menu button and scroll over to the left to your friends list (Roster), select someone and then choose the "Inspect" option. Otherwise, you can inspect any player in the world by walking up to them and pressing in the RS, then the menu button, then selecting the "Inspect" option.

  • Kill 5 enemies in 3 seconds.

    Using the Warlock or Titan special ability will be the easiest way to unlock this achievement. Find a group of weak enemies (such as a group of Thralls, or a group of Hive during the "Last Array" story mission), throw a grenade at them, and activate your special ability (when "Super Charged" press RB+LB at the same time) at the same time. If you didn't get five somehow, starting shooting at other enemies in the area right after to try and hit the magic number.

  • Earn Vanguard Rank 1.

    Your Vanguard rank is increased through their specific Bounties (50-100 rep each), Patrol missions (10-25 rep each), and completing Strikes within the playlists (10-25 rep each). You need a total of 1,500 rep to reach Rank 1.

    The Vanguard score is actually the marks you can earn from Strikes, Public Events, and material exchanges. You can only earn 100 marks per week, and can track your progress at the Legend online. You need to be at least Level 18 to start earning marks, though you will not receive marks as a reward from Strikes until Level 20. Here are all the ways to earn marks:

    • Level 20 Strike - 2 Marks
    • Level 22 Strike - 3 Marks
    • Level 24 Strike - 6 Marks
    • Level 22 Heroic Strike - 3 Marks
    • Level 26 Heroic Strike - 6 Marks
    • Level 28 Heroic Strike - 9 Marks
    • Material Exchange - 5 Marks
    • Public Event Gold Rating - 4 Marks
    • Daily Heroic Mission - 5 Marks

    I would advise against the material exchange, simply because it takes forever to farm the materials and they are much better used for upgrading gear later on in the game.

    It is possible to max out your marks in four hours farming the various Public Events on Earth. You'll have to be quick and hit multiple events one after the other. See this post on Reddit for how.

    Vanguard score is reset every week on Tuesdays at 2am PST/5am EST/9am GMT, so if you're not very close on Monday night you may be better served working on something else if you don't think you'll make it.

  • Earn Crucible Rank 1.

    Similar to the Vanguard marks, Crucible marks can not be earned until Level 18. However, these are much easier to acquire. You will receive three marks for every win in the Crucible and 2 marks for every loss. Simply play the PVP for a while and you'll max it out, win or lose.

    Your Crucible rank is increased through their specific Bounties (50-100 rep each) and completing matches (10 for a loss/25 for a win) in any of the various PVP game types. You need a total of 1,500 rep to reach Rank 1.

    Crucible score is reset every week on Tuesdays at 2am PST/5am EST/9am GMT, so if you're not very close on Monday night you may be better served working on something else if you don't think you'll make it.

  • Earn the highest tier of completion in 10 public events.

    Public Events occur at set times on the various worlds in the game. You can find the schedule here. If you are near the area where the event is to occur at the proper time, a blue waypoint will show up on your screen, the sky will darken, and your controller will rumble. If you're close enough to the event, a large message will show up on screen to confirm, "Joined Public Event." A Gold rating is earned so long as the missions is a success, by completing the requirements before time runs out or allowing the timer to run out without the objective being destroyed/overrun, depending on the event.

  • Assist in capturing 50 capture points in Control.

    Control is the first PVP game type available in the Crucible. It is a capture game mode with two teams vying for three control points. You should get a guaranteed capture by running to the closest point at the beginning of every match, then focus your gameplay on offense alone. Go from point to point attacking and capturing. A good fireteam will help greatly for coordinated attacks.

  • Assist in capturing 20 capture points in Salvage.

    The Salvage playlist is basically King of the Kill. A control area will spawn randomly and require a ticker to reach 100 before it is captured. As soon as this happens, the capture is complete (you will see "Probe Deployed +100" on screen). The second phase (where the probe actually does its thing) has no bearing on the achievement.

  • Kill 100 Hunters in PvP.

    See "Witch Hunt" for more information.

  • Kill 100 Titans in PvP.

    See "Witch Hunt" for more information.

  • Kill 100 Warlocks in PvP.

    Playing Control is your best bet for maximum kills. For some reason, even assists count toward a successful kill for the achievements, so shoot at everything you see even if it might mean your death. A teammate avenging you will still count. While going for these kills, gather the heavy weapon ammo and use your special ability to try and get "Excessive Force" and "Triple Play" out of the way. Also try to work on any Crucible bounties you might have, and earning marks to max your weekly count.

  • Earn a first strike kill in PvP.

    A first strike kill is awarded to the first person to get a kill in any Crucible match. Control is a fairly good game type for this, as you can rush straight to the enemy's spawn point and try to ambush them. The larger maps that allow vehicles are best for this tactic. Rumble is decent as well if you spawn close to an enemy. Stay motionless for a moment at the start and see if anyone is nearby and then go after them.

  • Register 25 kills in PvP with heavy weapons.

    Heavy weapon ammo in the PVP matches will spawn after four minutes. You do not start matches with any ammo for your heavy weapons. Once it spawns, you'll have to successfully loot it, or kill someone who did and take it from them. The 25 kills required is cumulative across all your Crucible matches, so work on it while you go for 100 kills of each enemy type.

  • Kill a Hunter, Titan, and Warlock without dying in a PvP match.

    The description for this achievement is a little wonky. What it actually requires is that you achieve a Triple Kill (or higher) with at least one of each enemy type included. You can not simply kill a Titan, then a minute later kill a Hunter, then a minute later kill a Warlock without dying in between. They must die within a few second of each other to get the Triple Down medal. However, much like the 100 kills achievement, assists are counted in that equation so you could actually only get two of the kills while a teammate gets the third (so long as you hit that third person).

    Control or Salvage matches will likely be your best bet of unlocking this. While a group of enemies attempts to take over a ring, use a rocket launcher or your special ability to inflict massive AOE damage. Throw a grenade in just before for good measure, and come out of it firing on anyone still around.

  • Raider



    Complete a Raid.

    Raids are suggested for characters of Light Level 28. They can be started prior to this, but it is basically impossible. You will need an Exotic item to even reach this level, so raiding is obviously the last thing you'll be doing in the game. Work on all the other achievements and complete as many high level Strikes as you can to gear up. You'll also need a good group of teammates with you of similar level to succeed. Raids are designed for six players (as opposed to three like the rest of the game's content), and promote clan involvement. They also have less direction than Story and Strike missions, and will require figuring out some things on your own (or just check online for guides/video walkthroughs).

    Raid progress is saved to the fireteam leader, so you do not have to complete the entire raid in one sitting. However, the raid resets every Tuesday at the same time as the Vanguard and Crucible scores, so you only have one week to complete it.

  • Complete a Raid with a full fireteam consisting of only your clan members.

    To create or join a clan, you will need a bungie.net account - once signed up, you can start a clan or manage clan invites through here. Don't get confused because you can get a group invite before actually setting that group as your clan. Try to get a clan with at least six members so you can field a full fireteam. You only have to complete the raid on Normal for this specific achievement.

  • Complete a Raid on hard difficulty.

    Hard difficulty for every raid is locked until that specific raid is completed on Normal difficulty. There is no matchmaking for raids, so finding a good group of players you can communicate with is key.

  • Complete a Raid without anyone in your fireteam dying.

    This achievement requires the completion of a raid without anyone dying at any point during the raid. This can be done on Normal difficulty, and it would be best if it you are over leveled and have already completed the raid before so everyone knows what to expect. The first clan to complete the game's first raid, Vault of Glass, died a combined 1600 times, and it took them over 11 hours to complete. However, they did not have all Lvl 28 players (two were only 26, in fact) so they were not exactly 100% prepared for this content. Since then, the raid has been completed by a two-man team in about an hour.

    I'm sure at some point down the line, the game's level cap will increase as well, making this first raid released MUCH easier (unless they decide to scale it for some reason).

  • Attain Vanguard Rank 3.

    Vanguard Rank 3 will require a total of 6,500 rep. The rep rewards change based on your level, so hitting a higher level will make it easier to max your rank. The rewards are as follows:

    • Daily Heroic Story Mission: +150 (Level 20) up to +350 (Level 28)
    • Weekly Heroic Strike: +150 (Level 22) up to +400 (Level 28)
    • Vanguard Bounties: +50 up to +100
    • Material Exchange: +25

    I would again advise against doing the material exchange since it takes so long for such a small reward, and the materials are much better used for upgrades.

  • Resurrect 5 fallen players.


    When anyone on your the same server as you dies, you have the ability to resurrect them by holding X near their ghost. You do not have to be on the same fireteam as the player, though you'll naturally be around your fireteam the most. Higher level Strikes and playing on Hard during story missions that are above your level will likely result in a number of deaths, so this should come early for you.

  • Complete a Strike.

    Strike missions require a full 3-player fireteam to attempt, and are unlocked at Level 8. The Crucible Strike matchmaking is unlocked at Level 16 if you'd like to couple this achievement with maxing out your Vanguard score. There are currently Strikes available on Earth (Level 8), the Moon (Level 12), Venus (Level 14), and Mars (Level 18).

  • Complete a Strike with a full fireteam consisting of only your clan members.

    See "Raiding Party" for info on starting/joining a clan. Once you have a clan with at least three members at Level 8, you can attempt the first Strike in the game on Earth. Obviously the higher your level, the easier this Strike will be. Strikes are different from story missions in that they are designed simply for the sake of killing stuff and getting loot, not for advancing any sort of plot.

  • Complete a Strike without anyone in your fireteam dying.

    This will obviously be easiest done on a Normal difficulty Strike, as well as taking on a Strike that you are familiar with, while having some of the better gear in the game. As you'll be doing these often while gearing up for Raids, it should come along the way that you take one down without issue.

  • Discover 50 dead ghosts.

    There are 62 dead ghosts in the base game (and another 36 added if you have all of the DLC), but only 50 are required for this achievement. The ghosts look exactly like the one you deploy all the time, but they will be deactivated. You can use the website Destiny Ghost Hunter to track which ones you have and are missing. They provide screenshots and videos to help find them. Put in your Gamertag and select XBL to load your profile.

    When you find a dead ghost with one character, it will disappear from your game world for all your characters, so you can't double up on any of the ghosts in the game. It must be 50 unique ghosts, though you can grab them with any character you'd like.

  • Kill a champion of the Dark.


    Story related and can not be missed.

    Complete the mission "Restoration" to unlock this achievement.

  • Fully upgrade a Hunter Subclass.

  • Fully upgrade a Titan Subclass.

  • Fully upgrade a Warlock Subclass.


    Each character type has two sub-classes. The first is unlocked from the start, and the second unlocks at Level 15. You can unlock this at Level 20 without ever getting any gear with Light to continue raising your level, as you will continue to earn experience toward skills in the background. Likely you will be around level 23-25 if you continue to gear up as normal. The best way to level up is by completing bounties, clearing Strikes, and competing in Crucible matches.

    Once you have leveled a character to Level 15, the secondary sub-classes for each of your other classes will also unlock and be available from the start. That way you can choose which way you want to play with them from the beginning.

  • Fully upgrade an Exotic weapon.

    See "Fully Weaponized" for more info.

  • Fully upgrade a Legendary weapon.

    The process to fully upgrade an Exotic or Legendary weapon is the same. You will need plenty of items and a lot of experience earned while the item is equipped. The experience you earn while the weapon is equipped will unlock the actual upgrade nodes, which you will then need to apply items to for the bonuses to activate. Each node takes ~20k experience to unlock. You'll need the following items to then activate all of the nodes:

    • 32 Weapon Parts: these are obtained by dismantling higher level items that have been upgraded. If you have a weapon with upgrade slots available, it would be wise to equip it just before turning in a bounty to unlock the nodes, then dismantle it to get a few weapon parts. Greens will usually give about 3-5 and more for blues when the item is fully upgraded. You should have plenty of these by the time you even get your first Legendary item.
    • 80 Upgrade Materials: the material required for each gun will be different, so be on the lookout while you play for any materials found on each of the worlds. You will need either Spinmetal (Earth), Helium Filaments (the Moon), Spirit Bloom (Venus), or Iron Ore (Mars).
    • 18 Ascendant Energy: these can be obtained from dismantling upgraded Legendary or Exotic weapons, getting a Gold rating on Public Events, Daily/Weekly missions, or decrypting Legendary Engrams.

    Once you have unlocked all the nodes and applied the necessary items to activate all the bonuses, the achievement will unlock.

  • Kill 25 Vex with precision shots in 1 mission without dying.

    A precision shot is essentially a critical hit, and in this instance requires a killing blow by shooting the weak area on the chest. If successful the enemy's chest will explode as a blue discharge escapes from their body. Vex enemies are found mainly on Venus. This can be obtained during any story mission, or while doing a Patrol session. Probably best done with a Hunter using its sniper rifle, both for ease of the precision shot itself and for keeping your distance so you won't get killed.


Secret achievements

    DLC: The Taken King (Store Link)

    There are 10 achievements with a total of 250 points

    • Complete "The Taken King" quest.

      Story related and can not be missed. Complete all of the steps of "The Taken King" to unlock.

    • Complete "The Court of Oryx" quest.

      To receive "The Court of Oryx" quest, you'll need to participate in a Court of Oryx battle at least once, then return to Eris. She may not have a quest marker over her, but speak with her anyway. To complete the quest you need to beat a number of Court battles.

      • Tier 1: 190 Light - Requires a single Reciprocal Rune to start. Complete this tier six times.
      • Tier 2: 240 Light - Requires a charged Stolen Rune, which you can obtain by completing three Tier 1 events with a normal Stolen Rune in your inventory. Complete this tier three times.
      • Tier 3: 300 Light - Requires a charged Antiquated Rune, which you can obtain by completing three Tier 2 events with a normal Antiquated Rune in your inventory. Complete this tier once.

      You do not have to be the one to start these battles to receive credit for the quest, so you could get this achievement without collecting or using any runes. However, you don't get very much (if any) loot for completing them when you were not the one to start the battle. You also don't have to be the one to start them to charge the runes. So if you don't have any Stolen Runes but need to charge an Antiquated Rune, you can hang around the Court and hope someone else starts one.

    • Complete "The Old Hunger" quest.

      Despite the achievement description saying you need to complete "The Old Hunger" you will complete The Old Hunger in the process of doing Hunger Pangs, and both quests need to be complete to unlock the achievement.

      This questline is triggered by the Calcified Fragment collectibles. After you collect various numbers of them, new parts of the quests will unlock. Follow these steps:

      • Collect 1 Fragment and bring it to Eris. (1/50)
      • She will give you the "Shattered Past" quest to find 5 more. (6/50)
      • Collect 9 more fragments to unlock the "Hunger Pangs" quest. Complete the Heroic mission. (15/50)
      • Complete the quest "The Old Hunger" by collecting three items from the bosses in the King's Fall raid. You can get the Blade of Famine from the Warpriest, the Shroud of Ir Anûk from the Deathsingers, and The Ravenous Heart from Oryx. Give these to Eris, and then she asks for 50 Weapon Parts, 50 Hadium Flakes, and 25 Wormspore.
      • Collect 15 more fragments to unlock the next section of the Hunger Pangs quest to kill a special enemy in the strike The Undying Mind. (30/50)
      • Collect 15 more fragments to unlock the next section of the Hunger Pangs quest to kill a special enemy in the Fear's Embrace mission. (45/50)

      Speak with Eris after killing the final special boss to unlock the achievement and receive the Touch of Malice exotic weapon. There are 50 total Calcified Fragments, of which currently 46 have been found. Use this guide to find them. They are also now tracked at Destiny Ghost Hunter so you can quickly see which you are missing.

    • Complete the "Echoes of Oryx" quest.

      Despite the description of the achievement, there is no quest actually called "Echoes of Oryx" to complete. Rather it is referring to a series of quests all involved with killing the Echoes. After completing the achievement "The Taken King" (the main questline of the DLC), you will receive "The Taken War: Earth" from Cayde in the Tower. Finish that, you will receive "The Taken War: Venus" from Ikora, and then "The Taken War: Mars" from Zavala. Each of these will be a few steps long, consisting of regular missions, as well as tasks that require you to kill the Taken spawns during Patrols on each planet (similar to The House of Wolves quest for Petra).

      Once all three of those are complete, you will receive the final quest "The Road to King's Fall" from Eris. All you need to do for this is kill each of the bosses inside the King's Fall raid. Return to Eris to unlock the achievement.

    • Complete "The Stormcaller's Path" quest.

      You'll need to have completed the first story mission of The Taken King "The Coming War" (available at Level 25) before this becomes available. As a Warlock, speak to Ikora Rey in The Tower to receive this questline. Complete it to unlock the Stormcaller sub-class, the Stormcaller's Bond, and this achievement.

    • Complete "The Sunbreakers' Challenge" quest.

      You'll need to have completed the first story mission of The Taken King "The Coming War" (available at Level 25) before this becomes available. As a Titan, speak to Commander Zavala in The Tower to receive this questline. Complete it to unlock the Sunbreaker sub-class, the Stormcaller's Mark, and this achievement.

    • Complete "The Nightstalker's Trail" quest.

      You'll need to have completed the first story mission of The Taken King "The Coming War" (available at Level 25) before this becomes available. As a Hunter, speak to Cayde-6 in The Tower to receive this questline. Complete it to unlock the Nightstalker sub-class, the Nightstalker's Cloak, and this achievement.

    • Complete "The Wolves of Mars" quest.

      When you start The Taken King, head to The Reef to speak with Petra so you can begin working on the questline "The Taken War: Petra" as you will come to many of these locations during the story. You are tasked with killing random spawns of Taken enemies on Earth, Venus, and Mars during patrols. Each of these will have a mini-boss to battle after killing three lieutenants. The first one your kill will drop an item required for the quest. They are very tough to kill (and have a ton of other enemies spawn at the same time), so you'll definitely need some help.

      Once you complete all of the steps of the above quest, Variks will give you a new questline "The Wolves of Mars" and you will have to kill Fallen enemies on Earth, the Moon, and Venus during patrols, then a special enemy during a patrol on Mars. Then you will receive three proper missions on Mars before the quest will complete and unlock the achievement.

    • Complete the King's Fall Raid.

      See "Long Live the King" for more info.

    • Complete the King's Fall Raid (Heroic).

      Completing the raid on hard will unlock both achievements, but you will need to complete it on normal first to familiarize yourself with it and gear up. There are numerous walkthroughs and videos online for help, and you can visit the r/destinysherpa reddit to find people willing to help you if you've never done it before (and they'll be nice and not treat you like a noob).

    DLC: Rise of Iron (Store Link)

    There are 9 achievements with a total of 250 points

    • Complete the "King of the Mountain" mission.

      Refer to "The Young Wolf" for more information.

    • Complete the "Rise of Iron" quest.

      The Rise of Iron quest is the main story questline for this new expansion, and includes the sub-mission required for the Mountain Climber achievement as well. Once you complete the final part inside the Iron Temple (A New Flame), the achievement will unlock.

      You must be Level 40 to begin this content, though your Light level doesn't really matter. The first missions suggest a Light level of at least 280 though.

    • Activate all Iron Lord Artifacts.

      Tyra Karn in Felwinter Peak will have a quest each reset period, and doing this will reward you with an Iron Lords' Legacy token. You can use this token to purchase one artifact per week (per character - so you can get three total per week if you run three Guardians). It will take a minimum of three weeks to get this achievement by purchasing all eight artifacts. This is assuming you get a token on all three of your characters, and that there are no weeks where you get duplicates offered where you've already purchased all three. Once you have an artifact you'll need to activate it by lighting a brazier in the mausoleum; this will allow it to be equipped. Upon activating the eighth one, the achievement will unlock.

    • Complete the "Glory and the Taking of It" quest.

      The Glory and the Taking of It quest is a PVP task given by Lord Shaxx in the Tower. You will need to complete 10 matches of the new game mode Supremacy, as well as killing 50 other players, and denying 25 crests. A crest denial occurs when a teammate dies and you pick up the crest they drop rather than allowing the enemy to capture it.

    • Complete the "Kovik's Sin" quest.

      The Kovik's Sin quest starts from Shiro-4 in the Iron Temple and will eventually lead to a new strike (The Wretched Eye) added for this content. Follow the quest steps to unlock the achievement when you return to Shiro.

    • Complete an encounter in the Archon's Forge.

      The Archon's Forge is found in the Plaguelands and is similar to the Court of Oryx from the Taken King expansion. You will only be able to enter after completing the Rise of Iron questline, which will trigger Devil Splicer enemies in the Plaguelands to begin dropping SIVA Offerings. These items will be used to start an encounter, similar to the runes that were used to trigger Court encounters.

      Any offering type will work for the achievement.

    • Complete the "Wrath of the Machine" raid.

      The new raid has a suggested Light level of 370, but is fairly doable if you're only 360-365, assuming you have a good group of people who communicate. If you're going in blind, more Light will help. If you have a sherpa or have watched the raid on Twitch/Youtube, less won't be a huge deal.

    • Complete the "Wrath of the Machine" raid on heroic difficulty.

      Heroic difficulty has a suggested Light level of 380, and has a few new mechanics (read about those here). However, it is not much more difficult than the normal version. After completing the normal version and seeing the new raid in action you'll be able to complete it in no time (assuming you still have a good group who also knows what's going on).


    Secret achievements

    • Play the Rise of Iron theme on the bells in the Iron Temple.

      Inside the Iron Temple there are six bells that can be activated. Each makes a different sound, and playing them in a specific order will unlock this achievement. It's a bit hard to explain in writing what directions to take, so watch the video below for where to go. You'll need at least three people to make this work, as the notes need to be played rather quickly to unlock the achievement and some of the bells are spaced far apart.
