    Complete 10 side quests

What is a side-quest? Well, that’s a trickier question that it sounds… a side quest in Skyrim is a quest that is big enough that it’s not classed as a “Miscellaneous Objective,” a quest that isn’t a questline quest (i.e. main quest, guild quest and the civil war quests) or one of the many Daedric quests. It’s tougher than it sounds in all honesty and tricky to work out. Out of 86 quests (at last check), only 12 of those were side missions. As long as it doesn’t fall under the three points above though and is fairly substantial (they’re not short missions!), then it should register as a side-mission.

Things like the quest for the trader in Riverwood that sends you to Bleak Falls Barrow to retrieve the golden claw are side missions, visiting somewhere because someone told you to are not.

  • Ah, finally, an achievement for side quests, not that I wasn't going to do them anyway.
  • I wonder if this will count for every little thing like 'get me a bottle of booze' and 'take this letter to this person' kind small fry stuff?
  • @ #2 I am not sure either. What counts as a "misc objective" and what counts as a "side quest?"
  • It will obviously be for any quest that's in your journal. Stuff like the attack on Fort Sutch in Oblivion (which was an unmarked quest) most likely won't be counted for this.
  • This shouldn't be that hard, I imagine.
  • Says here in the SG that The Main Quest, Daedric Quests, Faction Quests, nor Misc. Objectives count toward "Sideways". Some quests that do include quests for temples, bard's college, and "Dungeon quests". On a sidenote, all those quests in "Misc. Objectives" are what count toward another achievement: "Hero of the People".
  • #6 thanks had the same questions as the others :P
  • yeah
  • man, I have like 5 side quests done after 100 hours. And I know i've done a TON of the ones not marked Misc. This is ridiculous.
  • @9 same here 100 hrs 7 side quest. i'm currently doing every quest i have....
  • Has anyone got like a list of 10 side quests and the locations? I have over 100 hours played and done 9, I have one in my log to find a redguard woman but I've looked everywhere for that and can't seem to do it.
  • Yea.. i have now like 50 hours and still have done 2.. Im really a questhunter and did many of them.. Wondering how long it should take for the next 8 :)
  • http://www.trueachievements.com/achievement.aspx?achievementid=157051 thats a list of all the side quests
  • @Kallemall The red guard woman is the chief in the pub place in whiterun :)
  • I have this one, here is a good link with all the side quests. http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Side_Quests_(Skyrim)
  • I've done about 40 hours of gameplay and the acheivment popped up last night, no idea what I did but I done it lol
  • @11 the building you're looking for is the Bannered Mare (the Whiterun Inn)
  • i just noticed the achievement guide option is available had a read for this one and the one thing that i was expecting to be there was at least 10 missions that work towards this achievement but no only 1 how is that ment to help people get the achievement. i don't plan on using guides but i know people that will use guides and I'm sorry to say but this is not a guide that people can use
  • Here's the website for the side quests, and where you obtain them. http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Side_Quests_(Skyrim)
  • I don't think someone has the same problem as i do but i did more than 10 side quests not the misc and i didn't get the achievement im trying to finish more quests. Are the deadric quests count like side quests ?
  • only the ones with the flat hand looking things on the top count towards it
  • If anyone still wants some tips for some easy gold late game. try the Missing In Action sidequest. The fort you have to raid is filled with bandits using all glass weapons and armor. If you loot everything in that fort you could probably sell it back for about 30,000 gold. Also, upgrade speech so you can invest in people and invest in the riverwood trader merchant. The game glitches and he ends up with 11,500 gold every 48 hours. That's who i sold all of my stuff to.
  • Everyone I know complains about this, do people really hate side quests so much?
  • it was my last achievement on the way to 1000 G - now its time for dawnguard
  • PLAY PLAY PLAY...
  • Guys this is wrong. Basically all you have to do is go into every major city talk to everyone you can and some will give you a quest. I've already netted 13 of these. If it shows up in a tab of its own and not under miscellanious its a side quest
  • whatever comes up with a name on your journal that isnt main questline, Dark brotherhood, companions or College
  • @25 yes... just play, and you get this achive
  • All the quests you need you can acquire in riverwood and whiterun at the beginning of the game.
