You Can't Bring Me Down Achievement

  • You Can't Bring Me Down

    50

Complete Fable III without being knocked out in combat.

    This is a missable achievement.

As the description suggests, don't get knocked out in combat. Here are a few tips:

    • Buy all the healing & slow time potions you can.
    • Kill enemies with Ranged + Magic attacks over Melee.
    • Use good weaving spells to kill faster like Fire+Shock and not stuff like Force Push or Vortex unless you need to clear the area.
    • There's always a trick up your sleeve though. If by any chance you do fall in battle, I suggest you quickly dashboard it! When you reload your game you'll be at your last main checkpoint and the death wouldn't have counted! I can confirm this works as I had to do it and my death count was still at 0.

The achievement will unlock after the credits have finished if you didn't get knocked out during the whole story.

Comments
  • Before anyone asks, the achievement pops after the credits, so don't panic ;)
  • Kinda Spoilery: What about the quest for the Lost Play where you have to "act" like you are defeated? Does that void the achievement?
  • I had the same question about the "acting defeated" I really hope it doesn't void the achievement cause that would be a huge pain!
  • I did "act defeated" and lost the fight in the play but I also saw a stat later that said Times Knocked Out : 0 so it must not count against the achievement.
  • Can you get it even if you do ALL sidequests and collect all or most of the items? In a few reviews they said the game is pretty easy and they did not die. But if you rush through the main questline it may be easier to get?
  • Can't you just reload your save if you die ? a hard save not the auto ...
  • Completed the game without getting knocked out, but my hero did get knocked out in another player's world before I completed my solo game. Did not get the achievement after finishing my world.
  • when you do the play, just kill all of the enemies. you can still finish the quest without being "defeated".
  • Thank you Webb x360a, because I was starting to freak out... =P
  • Confirmed - Falling in the play does NOT count as dying, and you will still recieve the achievement
  • I never died in the 2nd game. Unless you count me dying on purpose to get a scratch; (for the ladies)
  • I completed the entire game 3 times now, and I'm SURE I never died during my 2nd and 3rd playthroughs. I STILL don't have this achievement. I guess its glitched for me.
  • Does getting knocked out on a second file or playthrough void the achievement for the first file?
  • im on my second playthrough and i did get knocked out in the first playthrough and so i obviously didn't get the achievment but if i don't get knocked out in my second playthrough do i still get the achievment?? it would really save me time :P
  • for "jeadwe12", I play through the game the 2nd time and I didn't get knocked out and I did get the achievement.
  • ok thank you so much haha
  • Ok. It says I have ZERO knockdowns. I have gone as far as defeating The Crawler, "killing Walter", and seeign the credits. I used the buttons to skip credits and saw the spiffy message about how nice I was ans how few losses there were. Never got the achievement! >:O
  • crap crap crap i forgot to say spoiler! no keeling meh!
  • Yeah I was pissed, I just died because I got mobbed by Hollowmen because I was using that pistol you need to get 300 hollow kills with. Sucks, I saved earlier but hard saves and autosaves are one in the same apparently for the same character. So I couldn't just reload the area I was previously in. I suppose I'll do a fast run through later as a female for kicks. I'm too invested this time around doing every sidequest etc, since I just got it. Sorry to ramble just upsetting lol. Btw thanks for the info that it pops during the credits ^^
  • This achievement is going to be a pain to get. I played through the game without knowing there was an achievement to not get knocked out! Wish me luck for the 2nd time round!
  • Was easy. Did it on first playthrough without using 1 health potion. if you get close to being knocked out just keep rolling out of the way and your health should just automaticaly regenerate :)
  • if i die in another players world (not saying i have), does it kill the achievement?
  • umm if im playing someone else world do i still get the achievements?
  • i joined a random game and i died and it saved several times before i quit and i then went to finish me story @) minutes later and i got the achievement. so you can die in other players worlds and still get the achievement
  • @) is supppose to be 20 sorry i was using my computer and im use to using my phone for this
  • quite easy to get if played pervious fables and know how to handle the game
  • Just got it on 2nd save on my profile ie Hero 2. First save I died in another hero's world and it didn't pop.
  • random question, would i need to do any optional quests and things? technically "completing" the game would include optional things...
  • For this achievement all you have to do is complete the main storyline. You do not have to do any of the side quests. It's actually not that hard to get i got it on my first playthrough of the game. The only part that may give you trouble is *SPOILER ALERT* Fighting the balverines in Reaver's Mansion. Just keep stocked up on health potions, and don't completely suck at the game and this chieve is simple :) chieve pops after the credits so dont worry after you beat teh final boss if it doesn't pop right away
  • just beat the balverines in reavers mansion and havnt been knocked out yet (sides the play) any hard parts left?
  • @Techno Flood >>SPOILERS
  • Once you become the ruler of Albion, you will receive a quest in which a noble wants to donate a valuable balverine statue to the treasury (Tip: kill them quickly with a hammer). Other risky parts include fighting the crawler in the end (you can use short bursts of magic to keep it at a distance), and collecting the diamond for the treasury (keep sand furies away with area of effect magic, preferably the swords spell. When you release the spell they will come close again and will be hit)
  • I did not get it. First playthrough I died, second one I made no mistake (I had a lot of potions) but it did not unlock after the credits... :(
  • If i get knocked down can i just reload last saved game and try again?
  • I just quit immediately if I was ever knocked down and jumped back in at the save. Got it first run (resetting a few times of course)
  • Just stock up on health potions and use the evade move liberally. Worked for me :)
  • i think sometimes it glitches coz my friend got it afta bein knoked out 3 times fightin the police ppl
  • Right heres what you wanna do if you dont wanna be knocked out 1. Roll alot, if loads are after you they cant hit you whilst you just roll 2. Potions, supply yourself with health, summon and slow-mo to help you 3. Avoid using melee attacks, half the time they just block you and then they just hit you constantly, ranged attacks are best so get yourself a reasonable RIFLE and yo should be fine (roll when you are reloading) 4. Combine Shock and Fire gaunlets, stuns and does a hell of alot of damage. 5. If you do become injured and the sides of the screen flash red, just keep rolling until it stops, for you dont have a health bar and you just regenerate health 6. if your really trying to get it, dont do many side quests unless you need seals to proceed the story, otherwise your just ris
  • I got it during a speed run on my 2nd attempt. A good tip is to buy as many summon potions as possible. Use this an enemy's always focus on them! Even the Crawler! I used it on him and it was a sub one minute battle! That's me at 100% and this makes me happy XD
  • I finished the game and skipped through the credits at the end and didn't get the achievement. Do i maybe have to Finish the DLC now? To get it or did i screw myself outta an achievement? By rushing and skipping the credits...
  • Yeah, summon potions tank for your hero. Every enemy immediately turns to them for a short while. As if the retarded AI and elementary difficulty didn't make it easy enough.
  • All in all not an incredibly hard acheivo
  • EASY. Even the bosses where no challenge. The Balvirines or wolves or whatever you call them where the only enemies to nearly knock me out. Just keep health potions and pies etc with you at all times and you'll get this no sweat.
  • Just watch out for big groups of balverines. Several of them doing that irritating "million hand slap" move will mess you up if you're not careful. I got tagged by that on my first playthrough and just stopped playing cautiously after that ("tank" is more my style anyway). I'll go for it again on a speed run. Just like everyone else says - lot of potions and ranged attacks and it should be pretty easy.
  • I just got this achievement and it was a bit of a challenage. Remember to buy potions, summoming potions and the slow time potions. If you run out of them and your in a middle of a fight just roll like hell. Dieing is another Hero's World will not go towards your 'Death count', also watch out for those Balverines they can kill you quite quickly if your not careful. Basically do what the guide says to do and you'll be just fine. :] GOOD LUCK
  • Just to save you guys the trouble and disappointment: If you're playing cooperatively with a buddy, the guest hero will NOT get this achievement. The only ensured way of getting this achievement is to play through the game alone. My friend and I beat Fable 3 in a single 7 hour sitting and he didn't get the achievement.
  • Think I had to restart once during the wheel of whatever where I died, totally forgot about the achievement and once credits ended I got that lovely BOOP and 50 gs. Never bought a potion in the entire game either. Pretty damn easy game.
  • easy way to cheat this is start a second gamertag and give them all of your potions and stuff and it will be alot easier
  • Common Misconseption would be to rush through the Main Quest, but keep in mind that you will get less Guild Seals this way and possibly less combat effinciency. Choose Carefully
  • You always cna do like me, When you die just turn down your xbox360 and it won't count anymore. It isn't the right way but if you die in the end i don't want to start over :(
  • Fable 3 is a bit easier than the second since every weapon is pretty much legendary. It's kind of hard to get knocked out when your upgraded rifle does more damage than a non-upgraded hammer.
  • So I only need to stay alive until i save albion?
  • Never died in my own world but 7 times in other heroes worlds. I watched all the credits. Oh, and I did all the side quests. Still no achievement. Guess I'll have to play through a second time.
  • ez cheevo did it on my 1st play through :D
  • Where can you actually watch your stats? This was much better in fable 2 in my opinion
  • You can look at your stats in the sancutury, although I cant remember what part. I think you can see them in the multiplayer lobby. I agree that fable 2 is better then fable 3 though. As for me, I got knocked out once, switched off the console, turned it back on and it said i hadnt got knocked out.
  • Can't really be bothered to play through this again but I suppose I will just rush through it. All in all a bit of a disappointment of a game I thought. This cheevo pretty much sums it up. A game with combat so easy you are expected to play the whole game without ever being in trouble.
  • badabing badaboom, easy tbh, had to use some health potions in the beginning, but once my gun was fully upgrade -> one shot kill, and the 'boss' didnt even touch me, gotte love summon potions
  • Got this on my first playthrough :) When it unlocked i didn't know what it meant XD.
  • I went through the game and didnt get knocked out once. Beat the game skipped credits and didnt get the achievement.
  • rolling and potions are the key to this achievement
  • Easy
  • Just as a warning to everyone: DO NOT SKIP THE CREDITS!! In alot of games actually they make it so that you dont get certain achievements by skipping the credits. I skipped the credits in one game (for got the name of it) and i was supposed to get a acheevo and i didnt get it so when i played fable 3 i made sure not to skip credits just in case and i got the achieve in my first playthru :D
  • I've almost finished the game now and have only been knocked out twice. Both times, I immediately reset the console and started again from my last save point. Does this mean that I'll still get the achievement? Is there any way of checking my 'knock out count' without waiting for stats on a random load screen?
  • it happened to me att end :(
  • This is an easy one.
  • Kinda sucks... I decided to play on hard mode because I assumed there would be an achievement for that and I didn't want to sit and read the achievement list (because of spoilers) -_- guess I should restart my save file then... got butt slammed many a time on hard mode xD
  • Not a very hard achievement at all, as long as you are somewhat paying attention. I used I think 3 or 4 health potions the whole game, and was only because I didn't want to risk another play through. I used range mostly. For magic use the shock + fire. For my gun I used a rifle I won in Reaver's Mansion game. As soon as you do that quest go back and play the mini game and you're set.
  • *Spoiler* Died in the sand dunes towards the end with that creepy shadow stuff, didn't know I could just exit the game and it wouldn't count. IF i rush through the game, does anyone know how long it would take for just this achievement? Message me please so I don't have to check back here. Thanks!
  • This isnt a hard achievement. I got it on my 2nd run. I was pissed the 1st time because I got knocked out(ONLY TIME) during the final battle when those twisters or whatever they are kept hitting me out of nowhere
  • Okay, so stupidly I let myself get knocked out, not realizing that this was an achievement. So today I started a new game, but right at the beginning I go and check my stats in the sanctuary, and although it is a new game, it still shows all of my old stats, including me getting knocked out. Is this going to affect the achievement? If so, how do I do a completely new game with all of my stats wiped clean?
  • this was really easy all you have to do is roll around whenever your injured and just use magic and weave spells together like fire and shock i got this without even realizing there was an achievement for it.
  • Damn, I'm stupid for not checking the achievement list. Screwed this one up in my first boss fight. Looks like it's a second play-through for me.
  • True to form, I got knocked out...once -__-
  • You don't even need to "act" defeated in the first place. The scene finishes eventually and you get complimented for "improvising"
  • Yeah I defeated all the enemies and still finished the quest
  • I got this achievement on my second play-through. Don't be afraid to use potions (it's easier for you to buy more potions than to have to play through the game AGAIN for the achievement). A trick I also found was that if you get injured in battle and don't have any health potions, just roll around the room until the red aura goes away. You'll look really stupid, but you can't get injured that way, and after a while your health will go back up. You can see when your health is fine because there won't be an option for you to drink a health potion on the d-pad anymore. Also, don't bother with your melee weapon. There's another achievement where you have to use it, but if you're trying to get this one then just stick to using your gun and magic. You're a lot less likely to be knocked out.
  • This is easier than it sounds, especially if you just use guns
  • Very easy achievement to get just use range and magic
  • I completed it without having to go down in any quest so don't if it's optional, I tend to keep about 15 potions on me especially when closing near the attack. Reavers mansion, the royal quest to track down the merc in the hideout were the hardest to get
