Introduction:
Welcome to Family Mysteries 3: Criminal Mindset, another point and click adventure game from Artifex Mundi. If this is somehow your first one, they are first person point and click games with a heavy emphasis on puzzles and hidden object scenes. As with all Artifex Mundi games, there are collectibles to hunt down, many miscellaneous achievements, and then a handful of story ones. Thankfully this game can be played on the easiest difficulty, and the miscellaneous achievements are all relatively simple ones. On top of that, there isn't any achievement for beating the game, so you don't even need to finish this one all the way. Let's get started.

Abbreviated Walkthrough:
As with all Artifex Mundi games, there are collectibles. There are also many points of no return, meaning most collectibles are easy to miss. As a result, I highly recommend keeping a collectible guide open while you play through the game (a great one can be found in True Collector (70G)). Every scene has at least one collectible (a few have two). Because of this, every time you come to a new scene for the first time, you should make it a point to find all collectibles in the scene first before proceeding with the story.

Aside from the missable collectible achievements, there are a number of miscellaneous achievements that are also missable, so you should be aware of them and, ideally, take care of them as soon as possible so you don't have to worry about them for the remainder of your playthrough. The requirements are:
One important thing to note from this list is that you are only required to complete three HOPs without a hint (as opposed to all of them, which some Artifex Mundi games require). As a result, once you unlock Scanner Eyes (60G) you are then free to use hints in HOPs as much as you want, without risk of voiding achievements. On top of that, you also don't need to complete all minigames in the game without skipping them. So, once you've unlocked both Genius at Work (40G) and Story Teller (60G), both of which unlock pretty early in the game, you can feel free to skip all remaining minigames in the game.

You should be able to knock out all of those within the first 15-30 or so minutes of the game, allowing you to play through the rest of the game without worrying about missing any achievements. If there are any you aren't sure of or confident about, jump to their solutions to get a better idea of what to do in advance.

Aside from the collectible achievements and bunch of miscellaneous achievements above, all other achievements are story related. As noted in the overview, there is actually no achievement for completing the game, As a result, as soon as you reach the last scenes in the game to find the final collectibles, you should have the full 1000gs.png and don't need to finish the game.

Conclusion:
Family Mysteries 3 doesn't really have anything unique to it compared to other Artifex Mundi games, making it pretty forgettable (assuming you distinctly remember every Artifex Mundi game you play!). Thankfully, this is by far the easiest one to date, since you don't need to finish the game, don't need to play all HOPs without hints, and don't even need to play all minigames without skipping them. Enjoy blasting through this one and another completion!

There are 22 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Find one Morphing Item.

    *MISSABLE*

Refer to True Collector (70G) for more information.
  • Find all Morphing Items.

    *MISSABLE*

Refer to True Collector (70G) for more information.
  • Find one Collectible.

    *MISSABLE*

Refer to True Collector (70G) for more information.
  • Find all Collectibles.

    *MISSABLE*

There are a total of 15 figurines and 14 morphing objects. There are a total of 24 scenes in the game, meaning every single one has at least one collectible, but a few have two.

The best way to handle collectibles is to keep a guide open the entire time. Because there are many points of no return, I highly recommend that every time you come to a new scene, you find the collectible(s). There is a great collectible guide HERE, complete with screenshots, courtesy of some Steam users. Keep it open while you play to ensure you don't miss any.
  • Complete a Hidden Object Puzzle without a Hint.

    *MISSABLE*

Refer to Scanner Eyes (60G) for more information.
  • Complete a Hidden Object Puzzle without a mistake.

    *MISSABLE*

As the description says, you'll need to complete any HOP without making a single mistake. This achievement isn't anywhere near as difficult as it sounds. While you could do this the legitimate way (take your time to find every object, ensuring you don't make any mistakes), there is an exploit you can take advantage of to make this much easier.

When you reach an HOP, pause and quit to the main menu to save your game right before you start it. Now, play the HOP, making as many mistakes as you want, until you find all but one objects, making a note of where every object is. Locate the final object but don't click on it. Instead, press the guide button and force close the game app (do NOT quit to the main menu, as this will save your game). Relaunch the game app, continue your game, and you'll be back at your save before you started the HOP. Now that you know where all of the objects are, carefully go through the HOP to find them all without making any mistakes. If you do make a mistake, you can always repeat the process of force closing the game app to try again.
  • Complete a Hidden Object Puzzle in less than a minute.

    *MISSABLE*

As the description says, you need to complete any HOP in under one minute. Because you're (presumably) playing on Casual difficulty, you have the ability to mash button-a.png during all HOPs to find objects without any penalty. As a result, there is a pretty good chance you will unlock this naturally while using that method.

However, if you'd like to guarantee this achievement, you can actually use the exact same exploit described in Unmistakable (40G) - find all objects but don't click on the last one, force close the game app, relaunch it, and now that you know where all of the objects, you should be able to quickly click them all in under a minute.
  • Find 3 Hidden Objects within 3 seconds.

    *MISSABLE*

This achievement is virtually unavoidable, both while playing normally, assuming you mash button-a.png during HOPs on Casual difficulty to find objects, or while using the exploit to go for All Seeing Mind (40G). It's virtually impossible to get that achievement without also getting this achievement, but again, the same exploit can be used to ensure you unlock this achievement.
  • Finish 3 Hidden Object Puzzle without a Hint.

    *MISSABLE*

As the descriptions says, you'll need to complete any three HOPs in the game without using a hint (i.e. without pressing dpad-up.png). Because you can (and should be) play on Casual difficulty, there is no penalty for mashing button-a.png during HOPs to find objects. As a result, you likely won't ever need to use hints since you can just mash around each scene until you find every object.

Know that there is no achievement for completing all HOPs without a hint. Because of this, if you are stuck on an HOP, feel free to use a hint, because there are around 15 in the game, and you only need to finish three without a hint.
  • Finish 3 Hidden Object Puzzles in less than 10 minutes.

    *MISSABLE*

The wording here is a bit odd - what you need to do is complete three HOPs whose total completion times add up to under 10 minutes. For example, three HOPs that take you three minutes each will total nine minutes and unlock this achievement.

There is no way to track your times (other than when All Seeing Mind (40G) unlocks, knowing you did it in under a minute), but if you use the mash button-a.png method to find objects, you're very unlikely to take more than two or three minutes per HOP. There are a few HOPs that will definitely take longer. Don't stress over these, as it's impossible to do them quickly without watching a guide first. There are plenty of other HOPs (closer to 15) in the game that can be plowed through quickly instead.
  • Complete a Minigame in less than a minute.

    *MISSABLE*

As the description says, you need to complete any minigame in under a minute. This game is chock full of minigames, and the vast majority of them are very fast and easy. You will likely unlock this achievement on one of your first minigames. If, however, you aren't confident in your abilities, the walkthrough in Informer (40G) shows the solutions to all minigames. You can always check the solution there beforehand, allowing you to complete a minigame very quickly.
  • Complete 5 Minigames without skipping them.

    *MISSABLE*

As the description says, you need to complete 5 minigames without ever pressing dpad-up.png to skip them. The majority of minigames in this game are very short and easy, but there are a couple that might give you issues. If you ever get stuck, refer to the walkthrough found in Informer (40G). It contains the solutions to every minigame in the game.
  • Finish all story Minigames without skipping.

    *MISSABLE*

The description here is a bit misleading - there are a few minigames in the first third or so of the game that are considered "story" minigames" in that they tell a story about characters in the game, or give backstory. You simply need to complete these few minigames without skipping them. They are all very easy, but if you prefer a walkthrough, refer to the one in Informer (40G).

  • Help a friend in need.

  • Free yourself from a handcuffs.

    Story-related; cannot be missed.

Refer to Informer (40G) for more information.
  • Call the police.

    Story-related; cannot be missed.

This achievement unlocks near the end of the game (there is NO achievement for actually completing the game). In terms of progressing, this game is quite easy to do so. For one, there is no penalty (neither in game nor voiding achievements) for using hints to see where to go and what to do next. You can also unlock all achievements on Casual difficulty, meaning there is no penalty during HOPs for mashing button-a.png to find all items. Lastly, there are only achievements for finishing three HOPs without a hint, meaning once you unlock Scanner Eyes (60G), you can feel free to use hints during HOPs as much as you want to help you along. On top of that, you only need to play five minigames without skipping, so once you unlock Genius at Work (40G) and Story Teller (60G), you can even skip all remaining minigames in the game, if you want.

Therefore, the only possible stumbling block to progression is the minigames in the first third of the game. There are a ton in this game, but almost all of them are very short and easy. If, however, you ever get stuck anywhere and prefer to use a guide, refer to THIS LINK, which has a great guide courtesy of Big Fish Games, complete with screenshots.
