    Be the winning bidder on any "unicorn" car in the Auction House.

  • How to unlock Unicorn Hunter

    You can get this either one of two ways: You can import a save from FM3 that has VIP status. Or, you can get it the way the game suggests, by bidding on a "unicorn" car, which Turn 10 releases every so often (Note: that these cars are usually VERY expensive - and are usually hard to obtain.) As a side note, Unicorn Cars cannot be gifted or auctioned/sold by normal/VIP players only those at Turn 10 themselves can do this.

    @3 unicorn cars are like rare cars released by T10 in AH they release sometimes 5 at a time and the community bid billions of credits trying to win them.

    In the previous games only turn10 have been able to list unicorn cars. I doubt they are going to change it for this as it would just become high end economy sinks (we're talking like billions of in game credits)

    This will be the reason why people won't be getting 100% in this game...I got a unicorn car in FM2 and it cost me millions and millions of credits which took me hours upon hours to save up for. Without a doubt the hardest achievement in the game.

    This one might be easier than we think. Since there are now FOURTEEN unicorns, the prices should stay lower for a while. I hope so, as a UK/Euro gamer, I will have a 3 day deficit to make up when I get teh game. Something Turn10 seem to forget with this stupid unicorn cars.

    Hang on... surely if you own a unicorn car in forza 3, you could transfer it over to 4, get someone you trust to buy it off you, then have them sell it back to you, you could both get the achievement easily, unless im forgetting something...

    Good news, everyone... Just saw it on the FM4 forums: "The "Unicorn Hunter" cheevo will pop as soon as you import your profile from FM3, if you have any Unicorns in your FM3 garage." So if you preorderd FM4 and tokk part in the Preorder Incentives program or got one of the 3 unicorns in FM3 you'll don't have to worry about this one! What a relief!!

    According to a post in forzacentral.com the 2007 Lamborghini Superleggera and the 2007 Ferrari 430 Scuderia are unicorn cars which you get via FM3 Profile Import if in FM3 Garage ~ Or buy in Auction House. Now both of this cars are available at the VIP Car Pack. Can anyone confirm this?     Is there any other way you can do this as I have pre-ordered the game but it goes onto an account for me. I didn't get a receipt as I can prove, to the store I have paid as its on their computer. I have no idea what these cars are, how much I'm expected to pay for them or even if I will be able to get one. Can you get them some other way. IE Note with a receipt and not via auction house. I was thinking will they allow them via download / add on.

    Got this when I imported my Forza 3 file, which is weird because I cannot remember having any Unicorn Cars. I was gifted a couple cars for importing my file, maybe those count as "winning" unicorn cars?

    So apparently You can get it for importing a FM3 file. However, if you didn't receive any unicorn cars in FM3, and didn't pre-order FM4, then you are SOL. So! All you need is a 2007 Ferrari 430 Scuderia, or a 2007 Lamborghini Superleggera. You can obtain these in FM3 through special events, or by purchasing the VIP car pack for 800 MSP. So if you want the easy way to do it, buy the VIP pack, then transfer your save over. Problem Turn 10?

    If you have the VIP pack either from the Limited Edition FM3 or purchased it for 800MSP. But you need to have bought the 2007 Lamborghini Superleggera in FM3 before importing for it to work. Kudos to xGeegx.

    Yes yes, I was just about to post that it was successful for me, but I had to leave for work. So buying the VIP car pack and importing ANY of the cars DOES WORK. I used the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, because it was the cheapest to buy (100,000 Cr) I imported it and the achievement popped up instantly. The cars from the VIP pack that will grant you this achievement are as follows: -2008 Aston Martin DBS -2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 -2007 Ferrari 430 Scuderia -2007 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera -2007 Porsche 911 GT3 RS (997)

    @#46 No sir, you can still get this achievement by taking your saved data, moving it onto a storage device and starting up a new game. After finishing the first race, you'll be asked to import your save, which can then import again. After you import it, the achievement will pop, if you had one of the mentioned cars in your FM3 garage, and then you're welcome to go back to the dashboard and transfer your saved file back onto your Xbox. Also, if you wanted to find one in the auction house, all you have to do is go to Community> Auction House> and then hit the Right Bumper to switch to "Unicorn cars only" mode. I also suggest you bring roughly 150 million credits with you as well because that's how much they're going for!

    @#50 Yes, you must buy the VIP Car Pack for FM3 (it is 800 MSP, yes), then you have to BUY one of the cars to actually have at least one of them in you garage. The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is the cheapest. Once it is in your garage and you saved, pop in FM4, make sure that you have transferred your save data elsewhere or you don't have any saved data on your Xbox whatsoever. Pretty much start up the game, it'll throw you into the 458 Italia for the first race, then after that race is over, it'll ask you if you want to import your FM3 save. Hit the A button and pop goes the achievement! :)

    @54 If you want to keep the unicorns then yes, you'll have to start all over again. Otherwise, if you want to get your old file back (with no unicorns) then delete the saved game on your hard drive and put the old one back on the hard drive and you should be good to go again.

    I thought this was going to be really hard to get, based on what I'd read about Unicorn cars, but i got it straight away from importing my Forza 3 Files. Does anyone know if it's a glitch that Turn 10's going to patch up, or if that's what they intended to happen? I've got some mates who want it, so obviously if they're patching it, they'll need to get it soon.

    You both had unicorn cars in your FM3 garage and when they transferred to your FM4 garage, you got the achievement. Basically the achievement should say "have a unicorn car in your garage" because if you're the winning bidder on an auction, you basically own it then.

    Ok this guide is only for people who have got Forza Motorsport 3 and own the VIP pack in Forza 3. I should also note that this guide is for people just starting to play forza 4 for the first time as you have to transfer your profile from forza 3 which you get a chance to do at the start of the game after completeing the first race. (An alternative is you could try to start a new save in forza 4 of another storeage device. e.g a USB stick but i dont know if that works). BTW The VIP pack in Forza 3 is 800msp and includes these cars ‘08 Aston Martin DBS, ‘09 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 ‘07 Ferrari F430 Scuderia, ‘07 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, and ‘07 Porsche 911 GT3 RS (997).So what you do is load up forza 3 and buy either the 07 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, or the ‘07 Ferrari F4

    Just to add to the USB trick. I used another Xbox HDD that I had and restarted 3 only took about a half an hour to get the 100k for the ZR1, and then restarted 4. Got the achievement and then went back to my original HDD with my Lvl 50 F3 save and Lvl 22 F4 save. Took longer, but also works. Just another option.

    I just received 3 cars from "Turn 10" as a gift today. Not really sure why, but I'm not complaining!! 2010 Ferrari 458 Italia 2010 Joss JT1 2002 Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type-A (unicorn) It also unlocked this achievement for me.

    You can do this 1 of 2 ways. 1) If you have profile from Forza 3 and load it into Forza 4, this achievement will unlock so long as you have an Unicorn car to unlock with it. This will be the easiest way for you to get this achievement. You have to have a Unicorn Car in Forza 3 for this to work. It will be imported into Forza 4 at this point. When you ordered Forza 4 and were part of the Pre-Order Incentive Program Turn-10 did then you would have received a Mazda Unicorn Card which would be imported. 2) You can bid and win on a "unicorn" car in the Auction House.     Sorry if anyones already posted this but i've noticed in my FM4 messages that if you upload a photo to turn10 with what they requested.. At the moment turn10 want: Photo contest theme 'Alps Spotlight' - take a photo with your fav car on the Bernese alps and send it. Winner receives unicorn car of their choice an featured in game. If you won and get the car, im assuming that would also give you the achi?

    That's just great people are already hacking there money on forza 4 so the car's are on 999,999,999 bids so im not going to get this achievement because of the ppl that think there like well good for hacking and thanks TURN 10 for fixing it from forza 3 you guy are the best :[ what sucks the most just because my bro was V.I.P on forza 3 and i was not he got the unicorn car when he imported his profile from forza 3 and i was not so did not get one ( we are both lvl 50) and one more thing thats TURN 10 for having great servers i lot 344,000 just because your craps server go down as im getting my money from the auction, so i loose the money and my car that i sold well gave away :(

    every car is going for 999,999,999. even though they're obviously hackers that have this amount of money and will get banned, it's no consolation to those of us who possibly had a chance of affording one when the game first came out, as now people play this loads to get huge amounts of money more than the average gamer, and the cars aren't put down to affordable prices afterwards. stupid achievement, just encouranges glitching or playing 24/7 to even stand the slimmest chance of getting :

    Just want to confirm I just got the achievement. If you have a memory stick or something just move your saved game file from your HDD to that, then get your FM3 disk, download the VIP pack for 800MSP (£7.00 in the UK) then buy a VIP car..i.e 2007 Lamborghini Superleggera as thats what I got. Save it, exit game, put in FM4 and it'll start a fresh game (as you moved your save file to an external hard drive), complete the lap and voila! 10GP.     The cars always go on the 121st bid, being 999,999,999cr. So aswell as finding a unicorn, having a billion credits u also need to fluke being the 121st bidder. Joined a party last night of 5 guys. All had glitched the credits and offered the same for me for 800msp. Oh, and they thought it hillarious to buy all 5 available unicorns between them, even though they all had this cheevo. Thanks turn 10 for encouraging this crap with these BS cheevos.

    There´s a simple solution to this problem. Turn 10 should just use the buyout option for their unicorns. A price of 50 to 100 million per car would be reasonable. This way at least some of the unicorns will go to the legit players who earned the money honestly because I don´t think that the glitch users will be checking the auction house 24/7. And if some of those cars should be won by glitch users it doesn´t matter if it cost them 50 million or one billion. Another thing that would be a good idea (if not already implemented) would be to make the unicorn cars unique so that one player can not own two or more of the same unicorn car.

    Ok. First of all, the achievement is kind of written wrong. You don’t actually have to “be the winning bidder.” You only have to OWN one of the cars in the unicorn car list. Second of all, Equinox80 was incorrect. Re-importing your Forza 3 file WILL get you the achievement. That’s how I got it. I will explain how below. Equinox may not have realized that even when you use Microsoft Points to buy the VIP car pack, you still have to go into the game to use in-game credits to purchase the car pack cars. There are 3 ways to get this achievement (a 4th and unverified way is to have another player sell or gift one to you): 1ST WAY: The most obvious way it to win a unicorn auction with 999,999,999 credits.     y been playing Forza 4 and it’s too late to go back and upload your Forza 3 profile. No problem! Take a flash/thumb dive and stick it in the front of your Xbox. Go to your Xbox’s System Settings. Find your Forza 4 (not 3, just 4) save file. Move the Forza 4 file(s) to your flash drive. Remove the flash drive and restart your system with Forza 4. It will play as if it’s the first time you’re playing it since your save game isn’t on your hard drive anymore. This time, when it prompts you to upload your Forza 3 profile, say yes and you will unlock the achievement (as long as those 2 cars are in your Forza 3 garage during upload). Then just plug the flash drive back in and move your Forza 4 save files back to your hard drive.

    2ND WAY - part 2: Receive a unicorn car from Turn 10 for being a Forza 4 VIP. They gave all VIPs a unicorn just before Christmas 2011. This unicorn was also given to people who became a VIP after the giveaway, as happened to me. The only problem with this method is that it is getting harder to find a Forza 4 collector's edition code. 3RD WAY alternative 1 - no need to move your save, just insert a flash drive then when Forza 4 starts, select the flash drive for your saves and it will start a new game and do the import. Just select the internal storage next time you play to continue with your original game. 3RD WAY alternative 2 - you don't need a flash drive as you can move your save to the cloud storage.

    Just got this achievement. I started reading the forzamotorsport.net forums and participated in some community events. Keep an eye out for johniwanna and any events he is a part of. Apparently, he is considered a "unicorn saint" and gives them out like candy for participation. Read the news articles on the site and keep an eye out in the forum. In his "Rear view mirror" blog, he had a contest asking people to post what they thought were "status symbol cars" vs "drivers cars". He said he would gift unicorns to the winners, but ended up giving one to EVERYONE who participated. Only took me a couple days on those forums to earn this. (Oh... it HAS to be gifted to you from a turn 10 person, no one else can gift it to you)

    Got FM4 for Christmas and I see a lot of people are having problems with this achievement. When I imported my FM3 file, I only got like 11 cars out of, I think, 66 car garage(I hadn't installed the second FM4 disc yet). If I do have a unicorn car but it didn't import, can I import again?

    Did Turn10 make it where you can't upload the unicorn cars anymore? I have I think 10 in my Forza 3 garage but none of them transferred over. The second time it did the same 10 cars it did the first time.

    I registered on the Forza Forum and there is a thread which talks you through all the available Unicorn opportunities, one recently was posting a time on a rivals event that Kenan (Turn10 member) undertook, didn't need to beat him, just set a time. Done that and due the Unicorn tomorrow when they're released, couldn't care less which one I get, just glad to get another 10G closer to completing this game!

    @224 ---- yes, just received a unicorn from the new rewards system at forzamotorsport.net. When i first heard about it from 223 i went to the site and didn't receive one. turns out you have to be a tier 4 or higher to get unicorns. A new one every month. Also had to borrow a friends disc 2 content install because the unicorn they sent me was part of disc 2 (1950-2000 car pack)

    I got a unicorn car it's the 1993 MINE'S R32 Skyline GT-R. Unfortunately I don't have the DLC so I can download it. I'm going to ask for another unicorn car. for those wondering how to get unicorn cars, just simply go to Forzamotorsport.net. Just "read" some news and post a comment about it make sure it's kind of interesting. Then leave your gamertag and the unicorn car you want. :)

    @233 If you have disc 2 for Forza 4, You don't need to buy anything. All unicorn cars are free to download. Unfortunately I didn't have disc 2, so I ended up buying the "car pack" for my Unicorn car. The unicorn car I chose was the 2007 Shelby GT500 :)

    Looks like they have now stopped giving them away on the forzamotorsport.net forums now too. I believe this achievement is now officially impossible to obtain now, unless you bought the Forza 3 VIP Pack before it was removed from the XBL market place. :(

    This is by far one of the worst games i've played in my whole fucking life. First they get rid of Unicorn cars, then they DELETE the Porsche DLC and then they REMOVE THE LEADERBOARDS for Forza 4 so that you can't tell what races you've done. You also cannot even search up Forza 4 on xbox anymore, but you still can search up Forza 3, Horizon etc. This company hates this game, and more importantly, they hate YOU!
