Awesome Drift Achievement

  • Awesome Drift

    Earn a perfect Drift score.

Earn 5000 points in a single drift. Easiest thing is to go on the Catalunya School Circuit with a car that has a little over 500hp and preferably tuned for drift. You should be able to search the Marketplace for a free drift tune, or there are some cars that you can use like a Pontiac GTO or Shelby Daytona that actually drift quite well.

  • Nooooo!! Not drifting, I hate drifting!!
  • how does i vtec? i havent been able to get better than a 3 while drifting.
  • my god that achievement was hard. heres how i did it go buy a drift tune up from the store front (mine was for the '99 honda civic and the tune up was named "achievement plz") go to the indy 500 oval track and pick up lots of speed and in one of the turns, hold or tap a however you do it better and it takes 5000 points to get 4/4 drift (turn drift points by pausing the game, go to HUD, and at the bottom turn drift hud on
  • As the comment above says make sure you turn on the drift points from the hud options so you can keep an eye on the score, as long as its over 5000 you'll get it, doesn't have to be in one drift, linking them together to gradually reach 5000 is another option. Personally i did it by just switching traction off and picking a powerful car (Corvette ZR1 in this case) and just drifting round go old Fujumi Kaido :)
  • Car: Any powerful RWD car Track: Benchmark ("E" track) Mode: Freeplay, timetrial You'll have enough space to do drifting without hit anything !
  • Thanks for the tips guys, I'll have to give this baby a go.
  • I got over 14000 but not in one droft
  • And it didn't work?
  • Did it with comment number 3 thanks mate
  • I hate drifting but...... I listened to all the comments. Corvette zr1, turned traction off, benchmark E track (open parking lot) got the achievement in 5 to 10 minutes of messing around. And it was kind of fun. Thanks scuderia mj and guizmmmo!!!
  • I'm doing it in a Subi, can't go wrong their made for it.
  • Btw. I did it in freeplay with the Cusco Impreza on the Sunset Peninsula Raceway I used speedway. 10000 NP.
  • great tips guys, thank you for the posts...I think I will go for this one tonight. :D
  • i did it on fujumi d section in the retro looking celica from toyota stock ... linked up my drifts and kept rewinding to get the perfect angles and speed for the full 5000 points
  • Got the achievement using method in comment 5 using the ZR1. Cheers
  • Did what #5 did, got a 6,000 point drift in the Bugatti 16.4. Thanks Man!
  • @5 Thanks. Car: Any powerful RWD car Track: Benchmark ("E" track) Mode: Freeplay, time-trial
  • thanks for the tips
  • #5 has got it down to a T. This is how I finally did the achievement. Test Track E, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X GSR with Drift tune setup from the storefront that cost nothing (Im not the greatest at modding cars) I was getting between 2.5/3k on rivals and then went on here an got 19k first drift as you can not crash! Its beautiful. Cheers
  • @Daniel55645 Your tuning set up worked out great. However I got the achievment on Test track layout E. Thanks for the post!
  • used the bmw f10 m5 r3 808bhp awd on benchmark layout e, got it in the first lap :)
  • I tried Daniel55645's but couldn't get it in his front wheel drive civic. So I made my own tune of a RWD skyline and got it in 2 minutes. I put it on my storefront under 'ez achieve', if anyone needs it.
  • used the joss jt1 done it in about 2 mins on benchmark layout e. car is a good mid engine rear wheel drive car
  • Thanks everyone did it in mclaren f1 gt on benchmark e all u do is accelerate and hold left!
  • Same here, Mclaren F1, Benchmark E, No TCS. Cheers for the help guys.
  • okay guys, listen up... i really want this achievement. what track? what car? c'monnn, ive been trying to get this from 2 weeks ago ive non-stop played haha! c'monn help a girl out;) thanks guys :D
  • Thanks it worked
  • All i did was follow on the inside of the suggested line as fast as it would go and eventually it would break loose and then i counter steered, i got a 7000 score! achievement unlocked for me what i did: took less then 5 min Car: Stock Nissan 370z Track: Test track Benchmark Layout "e" (reverse or regular) Difficulty: Braking: "ABS Off" Steering: "Normal" Stability Control: "Off" Traction Control: "Off" Shifting: "Automatic" Suggested Line: "On" Rewind: "On" or "Off" (Never used it) HUD: Drift: "on"
  • - Free Play game - Hot Lap - Car: Ford Mustang Boss 429 - Turn off traction control and stability control - Track: Benchmark Speedway Layout E - Before the race go to HUD options - Turn on Drift Score - Go to race! - You need 5000 drift points or more.
  • This worked for me on the first try: go to free play, take the Veyron 16.4 out in the hot lap, go to test track benchmark Speedway Reverse, accelerate to 200 mph (320 kph). Once you hit the straightaway, keep the car in the centre of the track and start braking (at a faster speed you score more drift points). Then start drifting left and right, keeping the car going forward and off the walls.
  • really isn't that tough.. you only have to get 5000 drift points. so turn on the drift HUD and drift. i did it with a A4 Touring Car on the Nordschleife
  • I hate drifting with a burning passion but I did this achievement in a 1996 Honda Civic on The Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the giant oval version of it. I found it was best to get drift points on the third turn in the track for some reason. I was using a drift setup from the storefront and I had traction control off but I had Stability and ABD on and the driver line was on braking only. Oh, and I was driving automatic.
  • Thanks for the tip #28! Did it on my first try!
  • EASY WAY TO GET THE ACHIEVEMENT Use saleen S7 and quick upgrade it turn your stability off (since it's practically useless) go to maple valley reverse course or sedona speed way, on a long and tight left right turns maintain your drift without colliding or spinning out no matter your transmission is, just maintain the screech of your tyres, and keep left and right of your joystick and you should get a perfect drift when you exit them long turns, i done this on sedona speedway and maple valley just use a car that has best speed and poor handling like saleen s7 or any ford car since they drift more.
  • go on freeplay in the corvette c3 zr-1 traction off and on benchmark e track did it within 5 mins
  • dont know how to complete a perfect drift always 3/4 do you use the abs system or not
  • Choose a manual RWD car, speed up, change into second then start fish tailing at full revs. I did this in an MX-5 on Benchmark E. Like the others have already said, you want ABS, ESC and TCS off, normal steering is ok, full line is useful as is rewind incase you lose contol before you reach 5000.
  • #28, your setup worked perfectly :3
  • #5 thanks, test track E, very very easy, i just used a chevrolet racing C6.R, got over 25,000 drift, you can just weive side to side and if you mess it up in the middle of a drift just rewind it, you will still get it
  • have to get 5,000 points in one continuous drift... hate drifing on this game at least it's not 100,000 in one lap like forza 3
  • i have gotten 5000+ several times but then all of a sudden it goes red(fail). I hit nothing dont got the wrong way, nothing wrong. drifting is stupid its not racing and it should not be a part of this game
  • @ #5 THX;)
  • Took me a about 20 mins to master drifting (I hate it) but finally got this using the tip at #5.
  • I did this with a drift-tuned AE86, the car is amazing for drifting and a drift tune isn't exactly essential, just beef it up on power and hit the indy 500 track, you should be able to hit 5000 points in a single turn with a 1 or 2 drift chain, this car makes it easy to do, if you need to, give yourself a few laps drifting the track to get the feel of how your car is handling going sideways and also to learn a good speed to hit the corners at so you wont hit the walls with too much speed or kick the tail end out far enough you find yourself in the grass or doing a full 360. Not a challenging achievement, at least not after you know how the drift rating works, make sure to put your drift points on your HUD from the start menu though
  • Hello,, need help ,, I just got over 6,000 in a drift, and didn't get the achievement :(,, whats going on?
  • I was using the McLarenF1 on the benchmark test track,, this one is not fun ugh :(
  • ok i have tried ever car under the sun,, i have hit drift counts from over 5,000 to 7,000 and it will not unlock the achievement. :(
  • I got it using a Corvette ZR-1 at the Benchmark Layout E. Its easy because you can use the large area, and if you did it wrong you can use Y to try again. When I did it, the game added my new drift with the old one, so... over 5000!!! =)
  • Nice, got it first try. I did the Corvette C6 ZR1 on the Indianapolis Raceway as suggested above.
  • all i did was got my 240sx to a S class took the driving aids off apart from abs, practiced drifting and as soon as i got better bam achievement was mine :D
  • #5 is perfect took me a couple tries to find the right car but the Huayra took me 20 seconds
  • @ #29 I just did that and was about to post it. The person who suggested this originally was a genius. ( For those who just go straight to the bottom of this list without reading the others. I found this on a different website, and after 2-3 minutes of getting to grips with the ..grip.. hehe I got the achievement. - Free Play game - Hot Lap - Car: Ford Mustang Boss 429 - Turn off traction control and stability control - Track: Benchmark Speedway Layout E or Twin Ring Motegi Super Speedway - Turn on Drift Score - Go to race! - You need 5000 drift points or more.
  • Track: Twin Ring Motegi - the last choice. Car: 2003 #77 Cusco Subaru Advan Impreza. Traction and Stability control: OFF Just did it on the shorter curve.
  • Nothing compared to the 100,000 lap achieve from FM3. Just do Rival mode. Go into the drift mode and do Fujumi Kaldo with the Toyota Tuneo(I think). Make sure TCS and STS are off.
  • Where do I turn on HUD drift? I can't found them... :( Also I don't have test tracks, what's wrong?
  • Nice, I got this :)
  • For those like me who haven't downloaded the dlc with the Benchmark track, I just took the S13 Silvia, bumped her up to A Class, and went to Indy as suggested above. Traction control off, built speed through turns 1 and 2, and down the backstretch, then cut hard left entering turn 3, hit A fairly hard then went back and forth tapping the E-brake and hitting the throttle. a lil over 6K before i even exited the corner. Just try to stay in the middle of the track. The rear end will jump out and slapp the wall pretty easily if you're not careful lol. Happened to me twice before I got the timing and the balance right.
  • Did what #5 did, got a 8,000 point drift in the Bugatti Veyron SS. Thanks a lot!!!
  • #53 works great. Especially if you don't have the test track DLC. Just make sure you use your handbrake to brake through the turn. You shouldn't have any problems.
  • I agree. If you don't have the Benchmark DLC then use the settings #53 recommended. 6500 pt drift, first try.
  • Comment #5 FTW. I used the Vette ZR1, no assists enabled. Got it after screwing around for about 20 minutes :-)
  • #53 Thank you! I got 6,000 points. I used a different car though. The Shelby Daytona Coupe. I'm in love with that car :)
  • #53 Kudos to you, this one was kicking my arse till I read this.
