Introduction:
A turn based-tactical RPG about a group of troublesome magic students. Use timing mechanics to power your spells and block attacks, explore the twisted halls of a vast magic school, fight challenging monsters and bosses, find tons of hidden treasure, and uncover dark secrets never meant to be found.

Step 1: Complete the Game
Ikenfell is a fairly straight-forward game as far as the story goes. The game will always show your next objective on the map and as text at the top of the menu screen. In the Options menu, you can turn on the "Auto" setting for the QTE battle options which will always give you a "Great" outcome, allowing you to do more damage and defend against more damage without ever pressing a button if you want to lower the difficulty of the game. You can also turn on "Victory Mode" which will give you a battle option called "Victory" to end a battle immediately and insta-kill everything on screen. Enemies with multi-part battles may require this option to be used multiple times. The game isn't super hard to begin with, but if you don't like the battle system or it gets repetitive later on, this can save a ton of time.

Nothing in the game is missable, and after beating the final boss you will reload your last save to continue exploring for the next steps. You can use the lists below to find gems as you play through the story, or just worry about that during Step 2. However, it's a good idea to mark off things as you find them during the story so you don't backtrack to collectibles you already have later on.

Step 2: Find All Gems
You likely found quite a few easily during the story, but for any missing Gems you can check the guide below to mop up what you're missing. You'll need 20 Rare and 8 Shiny to purchase and upgrade all the accessories. You'll also need 10 Sparkly to be able to fight the Allcat in the next step.

Step 3: End-Game Content
Once you have beat the game, you will reload your last save prior to the final boss (there is a cat in the room before which you should use) and can then go about defeating Codexus, the Allcat, and the Specters. See the guide below for more info on these optional bosses. You'll also want to get the Book of Alchemy if you didn't find it during the story.

Step 4: Allcat Ending
The last thing to do now that you have defeated all the optional bosses and found all the collectibles is to beat the game a second time for the special Allcat ending, which should be your last achievement.

Conclusion:
Ikenfell is a very charming game, and has a unique battle system that combines a strategy turn-based grid system with a timing-based QTE system. It can get a little repetitive and tiring, especially when you are just looking for collectibles in the end-game portion, so the Victory Mode option is very welcome. Or if you just want an easy completion, that will speed things up considerably. The achievements and game itself are not very hard to begin with though.

There are 27 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Bought All Gem Accessories

There are a total of 8 Gem Accessories to purchase in the basement shop right outside the Stoc 'n' Barrel. To do this, you will need a total of 20 Rare Gem collectibles. Their locations can be found HERE.

  • Upgraded All Gem Accessories

There are a total of 8 Gem Accessories to upgrade after purchasing them in the basement shop right outside the Stoc 'n' Barrel. See "Bought All Gem Accessories" for info on that part. To upgrade them, you will need to find the 8 Shiny Gems in the game. Their locations can be found HERE.

  • Found the Book of Alchemy

The Book of Alchemy is hidden in The Stacks. You will first learn about this from Bea if you find her in the lowest left screen of the Ikenfell Grounds outside The Roost. I don't think you need to speak with her first to find the book though. Inside The Stacks, you will come to a room with security eyes that you need to sneak past, and one of them is stationary. Get past this room and complete the location by defeating the boss, then return to this room. The eyes will now be gone, and the bookcase that was behind the stationary eye can be used to find a hidden room. Head inside to find the book inside a chest along the top of the next room. The image below is where the stationary eye was standing and shows the entrance behind the movable bookcase.

  • Defeated Codexus

Codexus is an optional boss that can be fought once you reach the top of Spelltower at the end of the game. As you climb the tower, new cracks will begin to form around the campus of Ikenfell. One such cutscene will show the Library cracking and a book falling off the shelf. This is Codexus. Return to the Library basement to defeat the boss and unlock the achievement. You can see the location in the image below.

  • Defeated the Allcat

The Allcat is located below the heavy stones in the Dueling Class, one screen up from the entrance. You will need a total Power rating of 100 to lift all of the stones. I was Level 22 with all the best equipment on Ima and was just over 100. Once you lift the stones, head all the way down the stairs to reach the Allcat. There is a Traveler tree on the other side of the Allcat's room to get back more quickly next time.

To actually fight the Allcat, you will need to be wearing five specific pieces of equipment when you talk to it. One piece of equipment each can be found behind the Allcat doors throughout Ikenfell, but to open these you first need to get the Allkey, which requires all ten Sparkly Gems. Use these gems to open the blue chest next to the Gem Accessory trader in the basement outside of Stoc 'n' Barrel (right next to the Traveler tree). Then use that key to open the five Allcat doors to get the equipment, put it all on one character, and speak to the Allcat to initiate the fight. Locations of the Gems and Doors can be found HERE.

  • Defeated the Specters

To challenge the Specters, you will first need to complete the side-quest from Gwenora. You first encounter this face blocking a door and the face will move as part of the story. It moves to the entrance of the cemetery, and you can speak to it there to start a scavenger hunt side-quest. It will show you a zoomed in picture and you will need to find the corresponding location in the game. The locations are as follows:

    • Cemetery, left headstone
    • Schoolyard, western exit
    • Library, third room
    • Southern dorms, to the left of Rook's room
    • Northern dorms, Abednego Family Room
    • Twilight tower, telescope at top
    • The Roost, room with candles
    • Gardens, third screen to the left
    • Spelltower, from tree at top go about five screens down
    • Allcat Layer, two floors up from the room with the cats

Once you have found all the locations (one at a time, returning to Gwenora each time), you will be rewarded with the Echo Heart item. With this in your inventory, you can now challenge the Specters. Go to the eastern Bathroom in the Spirit Oval, and proceed through the invisible wall at the bottom of the room. Interact with the mirror in this room to fight and defeat this optional boss.

Note: I would highly suggest just using Victory Mode on this boss unless you want a challenge. The trick to this fight is that you need to kill all of the specters consecutively, or they will revive with half health and the fight will take forever.

  • The Allcat Watches Over You

Once you defeat the Allcat in battle (see "Defeated the Allcat") you will receive the Clan Insignia accessory. Beat the game wearing this and some cats will join you in the final scene of the game (see the achievement picture) for a special ending and this achievement.
