Welcome to the Kameo: Elements of Power Road Map to 1000 . Kameo was one of the first games to be released on the Xbox 360. The unusual thing about this game is that there are 50 achievements, but only 26 of them give you any gamerscore.

Cheats
Cheats are unlocked by obtaining certain benchmark scores when replaying different levels.

Cheats Set #1 - Get at least 2,500,000 points on Thorn's Castle.
Cheats Set #2 - Get at least 2,000,000 points on Forgotten Forest.
Cheats Set #3 - Get at least 3,000,000 points on Water Temple.
Cheats Set #4 - Get at least 3,000,000 points on Snow Temple.
Cheats Set #5 - Get at least 5,000,000 points on Thorn's Pass.
Cheats Set #6 - Get at least 3,000,000 points on Thorn's Airship.

Please note that these cheats disable scoring. This means that you will be unable to get any achievement that involves getting a particular rank, (Co-Op A-Rank, Solo A-Rank, Time Attacks) with cheats enabled.

Step #1: Single Player
First, play through the game on Single Player. As you progress, you will unlock Elemental Warriors, these will give you 20 each. You will also free members of your family, these will give you 100 each. After defeating Thorn, you should have 600

Be sure to collect 100 of 100 Elemental Fruit, 12 of 12 Health Elixirs and 4 of 4 Eyes during your playthrough if you want the Game Complete achievement for another 50 . HERE is a great guide to all of the collectibles.

Step #2: Co-Op
Next, you will have to complete 5 stages in Co-Op. The stages that give you gamerscore are; Lord Drok, Thorn, Queen Thyra, Corralis and Old Mawood. You can either play split screen with another controller and profile or online with a partner. If you wish to play online, you must download the Kameo Co-Op Pack from Xbox Live Marketplace. Don't worry, it's free to download. If you are in need of a co-op partner, post HERE.

Please note, you must have completed the stage in Single Player before the Co-Op stage will unlock.

Step #3: A-Rankings
Finally, you must complete 6 stages. The stages that give you gamerscore are Snow Temple, Forgotten Forest, Water Temple, Thorn's Castle, Thorn's Pass and Thorn's Airship. When you finish a stage, you're given a score and associated rank based on how many kills, one-hit kills, and multi-kills you obtained. You're also penalized for being hit or dying. If you find this difficult, check out Chimaera's A Rank guide HERE.

Conclusion of Points
You should now have 1000 for Kameo: Elements of Power. Congratulations. If you want to earn the remaining achievements to get the full 50 achievements, continue onward.

Step #4: Expert Mode
Expert Mode is quite challenging. There are more enemies, they take more hits to kill, and they deal more damage. You also have to beat the levels in order. You can't proceed to the next level until you beat the one you're on. If you get stuck on a level, you can beat it in co-op mode with a friend to help you out. As long as you're the host, it will count on your save game file and you'll be able to go on to the next level on your own. The "Invulnerability" and "One hit kill" cheats can actually make these levels almost comically easy. The one exception is the Snow Temple level. On that level, you have to protect a giant walrus and, if you have the "One hit kill" cheat active, he will die almost immediately.

Step #5: Co-op A-ranks
These achievements are very similar to the solo A-ranks. In fact, you can do these in local co-op (split screen) by yourself. If you take this route, the strategy is exactly the same as the solo A-ranks, so if you can A-rank a level solo, you should be able to get the co-op A-rank the same way.

Alternatively, you can do these with a partner over Xbox Live. If you do this, the strategy changes slightly. There are no Doom Trolls in online co-op play, so the scores necessary for the A-ranks are much lower and you simply have to focus on getting as many Brutal, Carnage, and Frenzy multipliers as possible while avoiding taking any damage. The best strategy is to have one player focus on getting all the kills and obtaining all the multipliers while the other player distracts the enemies and takes all the damage.

Step #6: Time Attacks
In the Time Attacks, you start with a certain amount of time on the clock and more time is added as you reach different checkpoints. The level ends when you run out of time. The rank that you recieve at the end is based on how much time is remaining on the clock. A partner is absolutely crucial for these achievements. The basic strategy is that one person is constantly pushing forward to the next checkpoint while the other player fights the enemies. Focus Mode slows down the clock, so the more often that the second player can get into and maintain Focus Mode, the better the run will go. The only real advice we can offer for most levels is that you have to have a skilled partner and lots of practice. I my opinion, these are the most challenging achievements in the game.

Conclusion
There you go. If you've come this far and earned all 50 achievements, then congratulations are in order. That's a lot of work for all the acheivements, espeically since so many of them are worth zero gamerscore points. Well done!

[XBA would like to thank Cacky and Andrew x360a for this Roadmap]

  • Kameo can transform into one Elemental Warrior.

    See "Beaten Thorn".

  • Kameo can transform into two Elemental Warriors.

    See "Beaten Thorn".

  • Kameo can transform into three Elemental Warriors.

    See "Beaten Thorn".

  • Kameo rescued Halis from the Forest Temple.

Rescuing Halis requires you to defeat Old Mawood at the end of the Forgotten Forest level. You have to use Pummel Weed and Rubble in conjunction to defeat the giant tree. First, you Pummel Weed’s Uprooter technique by pulling LT and RT at the same time to go underground and then pulling LT when you’re close to an explosive pod to get under it. Get the pod close to the tree and then pull RT to shoot up out of the ground and fling the pod towards Mawood. If it hits him, you won’t damage him, but you will trigger the next stage of the fight. In this stage, Mawood drops trolls out of his branches and then starts laughing at you.

Quickly change to Rubble and start moving around the arena to avoid the trolls. Mawood will rotate to keep facing you. When he starts laughing, use Rubble’s chip attack – pull LT – to toss rocks into his open mouth. If you’re successful, he’ll choke on the rock and take some damage. Eventually, he’ll stop laughing and you’ll have to go back to the first stage of the fight and damage him with another pod to make him vulnerable again. Keep repeating this sequence until you’ve finished him off.

  • Kameo can transform into four Elemental Warriors.

    See "Beaten Thorn".

  • Kameo can transform into five Elemental Warriors.

    See "Beaten Thorn".

  • Kameo can transform into six Elemental Warriors.

    See "Beaten Thorn".

  • Kameo saved Lenya from the Water Temple.

Lenya is held by an aquatic, electric monster called Corealis. The strategy to defeat her is simple in concept, but can be challenging to actually accomplish. Corealis floats above a pool of water and will frequently chase you with bolts of lightning. When the lightning is flying, you would be wise to switch to Kameo and hover around the arena until stops. When you’re hovering, you don’t have to worry about getting shocked by accidentally stepping in a shallow pool of water. To damage Corealis, you need to start by using Major Ruin’s rush attack to launch an exploding pod into her. This will force her to plunge into the pool. At that point, immediately follow her into the pool and switch to Deep Blue. Use Deep Blue’s attack on her eyes. Each eye will take four hits. After a few moments, Corealis will resurface and you’ll need to repeat the process.

  • Kameo can transform into seven Elemental Warriors.

    See "Beaten Thorn".

  • Kameo can transform into eight Elemental Warriors.

    See "Beaten Thorn".

  • Kameo can transform into nine Elemental Warriors.

    See "Beaten Thorn".

  • Kameo brought Yeros home from the Snow Temple.

Rescuing Yeros requires you to defeat Queen Thyra. You’ll notice that Thyra has a giant eyeball surrounded by a number of smaller ones. Your first objective is to use Chilla’s Ice Spear to hit the eye when it is open. Doing so will cause all of the little eyes to pop out and bounce around. Quickly switch to 40 Below and use the Snow Blower move to hit the eyes and fling them off the side of the arena. Repeat this pattern until only the single giant eye remains. At this point, hitting the eye will cause it to pop out and bounce around. For part of the time, the eye will be covered in spikes, so it must be avoided. When the spikes are gone, use the Snow Blower move to knock the eye off the side of the mountain, without falling off. You have to move rather quickly before the eye returns to Thyra and you have to start over again. Thyra dies as soon once the eye is gone.

  • Kameo has command of all the Elemental Warriors!

    See "Beaten Thorn".

  • Kameo defeated the Troll King Thorn!

All of the story achievements will be unlocked while playing through the story mode.

Forgotten Forrest - Old Malwood defeated, Halis Freed

Water Temple – Corallis defeated, Lenya Freed

Snow Temple – Queen Thyra defeated, Yeros Freed

For the elemental warriors during the story you will enter a well. You have to defeat the Shadow Troll and after that you will see what Elemental Warrior you gained and will get the achievement.

  • The game has been fully completed!!

Completing the game requires you to complete the storyline, find all one hundred of the elemental fruit, all twelve of the health elixirs, and all four magical eyes. Here is a checklist for all of the items. Please note that a fair number of the items early in the game will be inaccessible until you’ve obtained particular elemental warriors, requiring you to backtrack to get them.

DLC: Power Pack

    See "Thorns’s Airship Expert".

  • Beat Thorn's Airship in Expert Mode

See the Expert Mode Guide by Dmbldore.

Expert Mode can be quite challenging. The enemies do more damage and death usually requires you to start the level over again. You also have to beat the levels in order, starting with Thorn’s Castle and ending with Thorn’s Airship. If you want to beat these the hard way, you’ll have to practice, practice, and practice. You can also run through in co-op mode, which makes some of the levels, especially Snow Temple, a little easier.

There is also an invulnerability cheat that you can unlock by achieving a score of at least five million on Thorn’s Airship. Once you start playing a level, go to the WotNot Book and you can activate the cheat from the Bonus menu. With the cheat active, the only way you can die is by falling off the level or failing certain mission objectives, like protecting the Walrus in the Snow Temple. The cheat does deactivate scoring, so you won’t get a score when you play through a level, but it doesn’t deactivate the achievements, so it is perfect for Expert Mode.

  • 'A' rank on Time Attack (Thorn's Castle)

To get this you have to first download the Kameo Power Pack, which is 80 Microsoft points. Then complete the level with 2:30 left on the clock.

You start with 2:30 on the clock and receive 0:45 at each checkpoint. The process is relatively straight-forward, but takes some practice to execute. Always have one person moving forward as fast as possible, either as Major Ruin or using Kameo's hovering ability. When possible, the second person should try to get into Focus Mode to slow the clock down.

In the room with the first white Shell Troll, its possible to use Pummel Weed or Major Ruin to get into Focus on the two Trolls on the other side of the ramp.

One of the easiest places to waste a lot of time is the sequence where you have to kill four Rollerball Trolls. As soon as the first cutscene ends, one player should use Major Ruin's dash to deactivate the Troll and then get around to the other side of the arena while the second player uses the dash to knock the Troll over the outside edge of the wall. Never try to shoot the trolls into the lava pit in the middle because its far too easy to shoot them all the way across to the other side, wasting lots of time. When the cutscene for the second round of Trolls ends, the first player should be in position to decativate one Troll and shoot him over the side while the second player deactivates both remaining Trolls, shooting one of the them over the edge. The first player then hits the last Trolls while the second gets set as Chilla to open the gate.

In the final arena battle have one player use Major Ruin to get into Focus while the other uses Pummel Weed to knock the empty shells off the edge of the platform. As soon the first player starts to run out of energy to maintain Focus, the second player should use whichever character they want to get into Focus and the first should start killing the remaining Trolls. I prefer to use Chilla here because its easy to aim at the Trolls in Focus and it saves you the trouble of running all over the place to get them. Make sure that there aren't any hiding behind the boxes on the side of the arena while you do this. If done correctly, all the Trolls should die without you ever leaving Focus and you should only take a little bit of time off of the clock. One player should kill the three white Trolls that spawn next while the second prepares for the jump with Major Ruin. While that player is climbing, the other can wait for the Troll spawn and get into Focus to save a couple of seconds.

Once you get to the Glass Jaw Troll, don't bother trying to use the Pummel Weed-Chilla combination. Just use Chilla's spear to shoot the chain of the chandelier over his for an instant kill. The clock will stop as soon as you run through the door behind the dead troll.

  • 'A' rank on Time Attack (Forgotten Forest)

    See "Airship Time Attack ‘A’".

  • 'A' rank on Time Attack (Water Temple)

You start with 3:00 on the clock and receive 0:30 at each checkpoint. You must complete the level with 0:50 left.

This level is probably the most challenging for two reasons. First of all, there are very few places where you get into Focus, so you won't be able to do much to slow the clock. Secondly, moving through the level quickly requires a lot of underwater fighting with Deep Blue and some people may find controlling that Elemental Warrior to be a bit challenging. With these two factors in mind, be prepared to practice this level repeatedly before being able to finish it. When we eventually received an A-Rank on it, we did so with almost thirty seconds to spare, so it's quite achievable.

At the start, equip the Eye of Strength and leave it on for the entire level. You'll want the damage bonus for killing the ships, submarines, and fire trolls. When moving through the hallways, it's fastest to use Kameo's hovering ability as long as you can avoid the archers.

The first Fire Troll battle has two sets of small Fire Trolls spawn. It's important to knock them out quickly and to make sure that you don't lose track of one and have to waste time looking for it. Before the second wave spawns, get in position so they'll spawn between you and the water, allowing you to spray them all into the water for a very fast end to the battle. When the large Fire Troll spawns, one player takes him out, using the Deep Blue-Major Ruin combination. A single dash with Major Ruin will kill him with the Eye of Strength equipped. The other player needs to line up in front of the wheel with Deep Blue and be prepared to spin it as soon as the cutscene ends. While the wheel is spinning, the first player should hop into the water and wait by the entrance to get out as soon as possible. As that player is swimming down the tunnels, some trolls will spawn through the windows in the chamber above, so the player who spun the wheel can stay behind and get into Focus using Major Ruin to save a little bit of time.

For the first ship battle, both players should converge on the ship and unload on it. Once it's taken some damage - perhaps 20-40 points worth - one player should peel off and start climbing the tower as Major Ruin while the other finishes the ship off. That way, they'll be in position to jump in the doorway as soon as the cutscene ends.

The second Fire Troll battle is much like the first. Eliminate the small trolls as quickly as possible and then have one player eliminate the two large Trolls while the second lines up in front of the wheel. Once again, trolls will spawn once the door is open, so the player who spins the wheel can get into Focus.

This second and final underwater battle is the crux of the entire level. If you can manage this part quickly, you're in great shape. One player should immediately descend and attack the submarines while the other stays up top and handles the ships. When one player is finished, they should go help the other unless they've also almost finished. In that case, the first player to finish should go wait by the underwater door. The only real tip here is to follow your targets closely and avoid firing unless they've stopped. They all stop every few seconds, so there's no point in wasting spirit energy trying to land a lucky shot.

As soon as cutscene ends, swim through the door and make your way up the ramp as Major Ruin, switching to Deep Blue to spray the first Canon Troll off the edge. Ignore the second Cannon Troll and use Kameo's hovering ability to make for the top of the tower. There are a few trolls here, so one person can stay behind to try to get into focus while the other flies around the right side of the water fountain and down the path to the door.

  • 'A' rank on Time Attack (Snow Temple)

    See "Airship Time Attack ‘A’".

  • 'A' rank on Time Attack (Thorn's Pass)

    See "Airship Time Attack ‘A’".

  • 'A' rank on Time Attack (Thorn's Airship)

To get this you have to first download the Kameo Power Pack which is 80 Microsoft points. Then complete the level within the time listed below.

Here are the times to get an A rank in a level:

    Thorn's Castle: 2:30
    Forgotten Forest: 1:00
    Water Temple: 0:50
    Snow Temple: 0:25
    Thorn's Pass: 0:30
    Thorn's Airship: 0:20
    *Times are set to Minute:Second

  • You've found a mythical Mystery Gem! (Rune Battle)

Throughout the Rune Battle, you’ll come across waypoints that will automatically bring the player in who is behind up to the player in the lead. To find the Mystery Gem, a waypoint simply needs to be activated when both players have exactly the same number of runes. This achievement is easily unlocked with two controllers in a local co-op game, but can also be done online. To ensure that both players have the same number of runes, wait until you’re both very close to the waypoint and have the player that has fewer runes hit the other player, causing them to lose runes, until the score is equal, then step through the waypoint. The Mystery Gem will appear in front of you. Simply pick it up to unlock the achievement.

  • You earned 5000 runes in a single battle!

This achievement is easiest to unlock with a boosting buddy over Xbox Live or on split screen local co-op with two controllers. Either way, have the person who is going for the achievement pick up all the runes on a level. The Forgotten Forest level is very quick and straightforward. You can get the runes by breaking objects and killing enemies. Getting hit or dying will cause you to lose runes, so try to avoid that. Do not worry if you don’t have five thousand runes when you get to the end of the level because your Brutal, Carnage, and Frenzy multipliers will add to your rune total in the final tally. The achievement will unlock at the final statistics screen.
