Unlock all the Map Stones in Middle-earth. (Single Player Only)

  • How to unlock Of all the inquisitive Hobbits.

There are 16 Map Stones to find and activate with around Middle Earth. You can grab these as you're traversing the world during the story, or go for them all afterwords. The only two I didn't have activated after playing through story mode were Isengard and Helm's Deep. Activating these is EXTREMELY useful, as you can use them to fast travel and show the locations of collectibles in the area on your map. The list of all the Map Stones is as follows:

    • -Hobbiton
    • -Bree
    • -Weathertop
    • -Rivendell
    • -The Pass of Caradhras
    • -Lothlorien
    • -Isengard
    • -Amon Hen
    • -Emyn Muil
    • -The Dead Marshes
    • -The Black Gate
    • -Helm's Deep
    • -Edoras
    • -Minas Tirith
    • -Minas Morgul
    • -Cirith Ungol

  • Is there a list of all the Map Stones?
  • So far I've got (in no particular order): -Hobbiton -Bree -Weathertop -Rivendell -The Pass of Caradhras -Lothlorien -Isengard -Amon Hen -Emyn Muil -The Dead Marshes -The Black Gate -Helm's Deep -Edoras -Minas Tirith -Minas Morgul -Cirith Ungol still no achievement yet
  • I found this which has proven to be helpful http://www.videogamesblogger.com/2012/11/18/lego-lord-of-the-rings-map-stones-locations-guide.htm
  • ok, the achievement just popped. the revised list is: -Hobbiton -Bree -Weathertop -Rivendell -The Pass of Caradhras -Lothlorien -Isengard -Amon Hen -Emyn Muil -The Dead Marshes -The Black Gate -Helm's Deep -Edoras -Minas Tirith -Minas Morgul -Cirith Ungol You have to travel to each one and activate it. Even though it may appear on your map, you may not have it activated. Fast travel to each stone and hit "B" when prompted to do so
  • Ty Sergeant!
  • So when it says single player only, does this mean I cant do this in the HUB world? it has to be done in the story progression? I ask this because i just went through and did all these (16) in the open world version of middle earth and still nothing.
  • No, single player means that if you are doing co-op with someone as the second player only the person whose game it is saved under will get the pop
  • it really should tell you whether youve activated the stone or not so you dont have to go around and check every single one
  • Every single map stone will show up on your map no matter what. So you don't have to worry about traveling around the world to find them. It's just a matter of using all of them to get the achievement. So when you're done with the game, use the map stone right next to you on minas tirith and fast travel to a different map stone. Once you get there, turn around and use that one to travel to the next, etc. Once you use a map stone then it will be "discovered" and eventually you'll get the achievement. It's a pain in the butt, but a pretty easy 30G.
  • I got a bit frustrated with this one because I couldn't easily tell which I'd activated. As a general rule I looked how many collectibles were in that area when you hover over the mapstone and look how many are showing on the map, if its disproportionate in any way its probably not activated. I eventually just went to each one though!
