Introduction:
Welcome to Madden NFL 11, one of the easiest Madden games to get 1000 in. Most of the achievements can be unlocked simply by playing 4 or 5 games, or less if you’re smart. By the way, “No OTP” stands for “No Online Team Play.”
As with previous Madden’s, they’ve changed the way the game is played, so it might take some getting used to, but the gameplay itself remains basically intact. Major overhauls are the playbook, kicking and the all new Strategy Pad. You can still play the game the old way with the playbook intact or try the new Gameflow option, but the kicking and Strategy Pad are unchangeable. The Strategy Pad supposedly simplifies the play calling from the line for both offense and defense since it’s all done with the D-Pad instead of multiple buttons. I personally liked the older way better. If you’ve played other Madden games, or NCAA Football games for that matter, playing this game should come naturally.
Obviously, the game is much simpler if you use two controllers and preferably have two people playing. What we want to do is concentrate as much as possible on one or two positions first, like QB and WR, then work on another, like RB. When on defense, work on sacks, then fumbles, then interceptions. By focusing on certain positions first lets you not worry about them later on.
First off, what you want to do is go to the My Madden > Settings > Game Options menu and set Fatigue down to 0 (zero). Also, go to My Madden > Settings > Penalties and set Offsides to 0 (zero). That will make it easier to get the sacks and forced fumbles, and also for getting those long runs and catches. Also, for the “Laces Out” achievement, turn up Kick Power and Kick Accuracy to 100 in Settings > Special Teams. Also, you want to set the quarter length to 5 minutes. There are 3 time-based achievements, but 5 minutes is good for all three of them (one is max. 7 minute quarters and the other is min. 3 minute quarters). By setting the quarter to 5 minutes you enable most achievements to be unlocked in a few games.
Step One: Madden Moments
This achievement is going to take a while. If you simply want a quick 900 skip this step. There are 49 moments that you have to play through with varying difficulty, and you cannot change any settings. You can, however, edit the team’s rosters to make your team better and the CPU team worse and also trade key players to your team to make a super team. It's suggested that you do the Madden Moments first, thus eliminating the need to play unnecessary Play Now games. The majority of the achievements can be unlocked by playing the Madden Moments. Steps 2-4 will detail what you need to do to clean up any achievements you didn't get yet.
Step Two: Verizon Master Strategist
If you didn't play the demo and unlocked this achievement there, you’ll want to knock this out of the way first since it’s relatively easy. From the main menu, go to My Madden > Gameplanning > Create Offensive Gameplan. Press to select a playbook, and then once it loads up, press
to save it. The achievement will unlock after you save.
Step Three: Defense
Depending on if you won the coin toss or not, you’re either on offense or defense. If you’re on defense first, start off by going for “Sack Master.” You can get 3 of the 5 out of the way immediately with offsides turned off. Next time on defense, sack the quarterback 2 more times then try for either the forced fumbles or interception achievements. That’s really it for defense, but it will take some time to get these as getting interceptions and recovering fumbles puts you back on offense. Also, if you force a punt, try and get “Old Spice Swagger Return.”
Step Four: Offense
Work on a plan that will maximize your achievements unlocking in the shortest amount of time possible. You can technically get “Man Dozer,” Home Run” and “The Elusive Man” in one play if you’re careful and not get tackled. That leaves only one rushing achievement. Try for “Winning Isn’t Everything” and “Deadly Accurate” at the same time as well. That will just leave one receiver achievement and two quarterback achievements which can be easily unlocked in the next possession or two.
Cleanup/Conclusion:
Depending on if you got the “Comeback Kids” or “Did I Break It?” achievement, go for the other in another game. Also do any other random achievements (like “Thanks for Coming”) you may have missed in the next one or two games. Enjoy an easy 1000.
Tips:
- You can use two controllers
- You can edit any team's stats
- Using SuperSim will disable achievements
- It's recommended you use unlimited Rewinds
- You can change sliders and any settings to your favor
- If you are having trouble causing fumbles (against the CPU), change the slider in CPU Skills to 0 (zero).
- If you are having trouble kicking the 60 yard field goal, go to Settings > Special Teams and turn up the Kick Power and Accuracy to 100.
- If you are having trouble with the rushing/breaking tackles achievements (against the CPU), change the sliders in CPU Skills down to 0 (zero) (Rush Blocking, Reaction Time, etc.).
- By doing the Madden Moments first, it will eliminate having to play some extra games. A majority of the achievements can be unlocked simply by doing the Madden Moments.
