Introduction:
Welcome to MLB The Show 22. This is the second year on the Xbox for the once exclusive Playstation baseball game. Don't let the fact that it's the only licensed baseball game fool you. It's easily one of the best. The game is beautiful, realistic and the presentation is amazing. So even if you are new to baseball or a long time fan, you'll enjoy playing this game and unlocking all of the achievements.

Abbreviated Walkthrough:
There are several different ways to try and tackle these achievements. The best way is to just focus on getting each achievement and once unlocked you can quit the game and move on.  There are only two achievements that requires you to complete a whole game Professional Framer! (40G) and Bring in the Closer! (20G)As soon as the game starts it will ask you to pick a difficulty. It is CRUCIAL that you choose CASUAL difficulty, then agree to dynamic setting. You'll need to start at the lowest difficulty in order to unlock the Dynamic achievements properly. I recommend playing a couple of exhibition games to get a feel on pitching and hitting. I recommend using Directional for the hitting interface and classic for the pitching interface. Keep playing until you unlock all 6 of the Dynamic achievements. Those shouldn't be too hard to unlock, simply try and hit Home Runs and strikeouts as many batters as you can. You can raise all Human sliders to help yourself and lower CPU sliders (it wont affect achievements). Some tips for hitting and pitching:

HITTING
  • Use the left stick to direct your hit. Focus on hitting the options direction of your batter (right handed batters direct your hits right, etc)
  • If the pitcher you are facing is left handed and your batter is right handed, use the left stick to direct your hit left and use button-x.png for power
PITCHING
  • You'll want to alternate location and speed when pitching. A good rule of thumb is Fastballs up and in towards a batter and breaking pitches (curveballs, change ups, etc) low and away from the batter
Keep playing exhibition games till you get a better feel of the game and unlock all 6 dynamic achievements. The dynamic system is similar to an XP/Level up system but if you start to struggle (strikeout as a batter and allow hits and runs as a pitcher) you can get demoted levels. Levels are represented as difficulty settings with a (+) setting in between. You might also unlock other achievements as you play. After you unlock all the dynamic achievements you can  work on the other specific achievements using the descriptions below. Good luck!

Multiplayer:
While you only need to play multiplayer for Did we just become friends? (40G), you can team up with a friend and boost some of the achievements online as well.

Mop-Up:
Really once you get the dynamic achievements the rest of the list is essentially mopping up. No achievements are missable and you can unlock them in any order.

Conclusion:
This really should be a fun and somewhat easy completion. The only trouble you might have is unlocking Backwards K! (40G) since there might be some RNG involved (the batter has to strike out looking) but overall this shouldn't prove to be too hard. Enjoy!

There are 25 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • In any stadium, hit an inside the park home run. (Excludes local mp, practice, and switching teams)

You'll want to make sure you are playing on Beginner batting difficulty and turn the sliders all the way to the left for the following:

    • Fielder Run Speed
    • Fielder Arm Strength Outfield
Now turn the sliders all the way to the right for the following:

    • Human Contact
    • Human Power
    • Human Timing
    • Baserunner Speed
Now select the NL All Stars (away) as your team vs any Minor league team (press lb.png on the home team select).  Now select the Polo Grounds under "Classic Stadiums" (press rb.png to cycle through stadiums).

You'll start the game batting. This stadium is huge so hit the ball in between the outfielders and keep pressing lb.png after you hit the ball in play till you score. Once you slide into home plate the achievement will unlock.
  • Hit a home run with any starting pitcher. (Excludes local mp, practice, and switching teams)

Select the LA Angels as the away team and choose any pitcher to start other than Ohtani. Next select Ohtani off the bench and place him at the top of the lineup in LF (replacing that current starter).

Once the game starts make sure you are using button-x.png when you swing for power. If you don't hit a home run with Ohtani, restart the same game and keep at it till you do. Once he homers the achievement will unlock.
  • Achieve a hit, a single or better from both sides of the plate with the same batter in a single game

You might unlock this while working on the Dynamic achievements. You need a batter with an 'S' next to his name (that means he is a switch hitter) to hit from both sides of the plate in the same game. Once he does the achievement will unlock.
  • Achieve a hit while using PCI Anchor. (Excludes local mp, practice, and switching teams)

I'll be 100% honest, this unlocked for me while using directional hitting and PCI Anchor set to ON. It was one of the first achievements I unlocked so it may have glitched. I looked into it and it looks like you might need to use the Zone hitting interface. I found a video that shows you how to get this:

  • Promote to Rookie pitching difficulty in Dynamic Difficulty.

These sets of Dynamic achievements shouldn't take you more than a couple of games to unlock. The Dynamic setting is essentially a XP style level system based on difficulty. The scale can slide back and forth meaning you can gain and lose XP based on your performance. Like I mentioned in the roadmap you have to start out on Casual difficulty and select the Dynamic option to unlock these properly. If you pick anything else the game will start you out on a higher difficulty and you'll miss some of the easier dynamic achievements. Remember you are starting out on beginner difficulty so refer to the walkthrough for tips on pitching and hitting that will get you leveled up in no time. Keep on hitting home runs and striking out batters to progress.

It also looks like this achievement and Batting Rook! (70G) are unlocking for each other (batting achievement for pitching and pitching achievement for batting) but as long as you meet the rank for both batting and pitching you should be fine.

These sets of Dynamic achievements shouldn't take you more than a couple of games to unlock. The Dynamic setting is essentially a XP style level system based on difficulty. It also looks like this achievement and Pitching Rook! (70G) are unlocking for each other (batting achievement for pitching and pitching achievement for batting) but as long as you meet the rank for both batting and pitching you should be fine.
  • Throw more than 60% first-pitch strikes in a complete-game victory. (Must be a full 9 inning game).

You'll need to complete a whole game and WIN the game to get this. You will most likely unlock this while working on the Dynamic achievements. Just make sure that every first pitch is a fastball and in the strike zone and you should have no problem unlocking this. Once the game is over the achievement will unlock.
  • Turn two double plays within a complete game. (Excludes local mp, practice, and switching teams)

The idea behind this achievement is to turn (2) double plays in the same game. A double play is while there is a runner on first you throw a ball to second (getting the force out) and then throw it to first to get 2 outs in the same play. It's a lot easier than it sounds.

As the NL All Stars at home you'll want to play against a Minor league team (press lb.png on the away team select). I also recommend adjusting all sliders to the left for baserunning speed.

As the home team you will pitch first. Walk the first batter and then throw some curveballs or changeups low in the strike zone. This should cause a ground ball to your infield. Simply throw it to 2nd base and then 1st. Do this twice in a game (over several innings) and the achievement will unlock. You DO NOT have to complete the game.
  • While pitching, strike out a batter with a pitch outside the zone. (Excludes local mp, practice.)

This is easily unlocked on the easiest pitching difficulty. Remember to alternate between high fastballs and low breaking balls (curve, change up). Once you have two strikes on a batter, throw a fastball just outside of the strike zone. Once the CPU swings and misses you unlock the achievement.
  • Strikeout the same batter three times within a game. (Must be a full 9 inning game.)

You will probably unlock this while working on the Dynamic achievements. You simply have to strike out the same batter three times in the same game. Remember this can be done on the lowest difficulty and you can use sliders to help. Once the same batter strikes out for the 3rd time the achievement will unlock.
  • Enter into any co-op game. (Enter a co-op exhibition game with a friend or random player.)

    *ONLINE*

For this achievement you just have to connect to a co-op game for it to unlock. It should unlock as soon as you start the game. Go to coop in the main menu and search for a game (2v2 or 3v3). Once you find teammates and connect, the achievement will unlock.
  • Collect three stolen bases within a complete game (Excludes local mp, practice, and switching teams)

Start a retro game with the Boomers as the AWAY team and choose a minor league team (press lb.png on the home team select) as your opponent at home. Feel free to use sliders to help your base runner's speed. The good thing about retro mode is that the steal action is less complicated. Once you get a hit STOP on first. When the pitcher starts his throwing motion, hold button-y.png to advance the runner on first. Should be an easy stolen base. do the same thing next pitch to try and steal third. Keep doing this (getting a hit, stealing second and third) until the achievement unlocks.
  • Achieve a perfect-perfect hit for a home run. (Excludes local mp, practice, and switching teams)

You will probably get this while working on the Dynamic achievements. On the easier difficulty you should have no problems hitting home runs. As you swing at pitches your swing recap will tell you about your timing (too early, too late, etc). You just have to get a perfectly timed hit that is a home run. Once you hit the homerun the achievement will unlock.
  • Trigger a perfect pinpoint accuracy pitch that strikes out a batter looking. (Excludes practice.)

This will most likely be your last achievement. To get this you have to use the Pinpoint pitching interface. I got it using a fastball. The key is holding the pitch up till the circle gets small and then sliding the RS down as fast as possible, getting a strikeout looking with a perfect pitch. Make sure you play on easy and turn down all the CPU sliders for hitting. You can watch thevideo tbelow to understand how pinpoint Pitching works. There is a small amount of RNG element since the batter has to NOT swing on strike three. It looks like you can get this boosting online versus another player and still unlock the achievement.

See Batting Rook! (70G) for more info.
  • Hit a home run off a pitch going 100 mph or more. (Excludes local mp, practice, and switching teams)

You'll want to play against a pitcher with a 99 rating on his fastball. I did it against the Mets with DeGrom as the opposing pitcher. Make sure you are away so you bat first. With the batting difficulty on beginner you should have no problem hitting a homerun. If you hit one off of a 100 MPH pitch the achievement will unlock.
  • Create a Diamond Dynasty team.

One of the easier achievements. Select the Diamond Dynasty mode and create a team. Once you are done the achievement will unlock.
  • As a batter, get on base by a hit by pitch (HBP). (Excludes local mp, practice, and switching teams)

You will most likely get this as you are playing the game. To help speed this up you can adjust sliders for CPU pitching accuracy. Once you are hit by a pitch the achievement will unlock. It looks like you can also boost this online vs another player.
  • As a batter, record an out on a perfect-perfect hit. (Excludes local mp, practice, switching teams.)

Another easier than it sounds achievement. Start up a game and make sure you have the batting difficulty on Beginner. Once you get a perfect rated hit just hold lb.png till you runner is tagged out. Once you record the out the achievement will unlock.
  • In any mode, earn a save with your closer to win the game. (Excludes local mp, switching teams.)

You will need to complete a game and win to unlock this achievement. You can play on the easiest difficulty and adjust sliders in your favor. You have to bring in a different pitcher in the 9th inning and have him "Close" the game (get the last three outs and not allow the other team to win). You need to make sure you are only winning by 2 or 3 runs to make that situation count as a save. Once you win the game the achievement will unlock.
  • With a runner on base, achieve a perfect-perfect hit and score a run. (Excludes local mp, practice)

You will have to have a runner on base and score that runner with a perfect hit. Perfect hits have to do with timing, so as soon as you hit the ball you'll see the perfect rating. Once the other runner scores the achievement will unlock.
  • As a fielder, catch a 110 mph or harder hit baseball for an out. (Excludes local mp, practice)

This can be done in Retro mode. For this one you want the pitching difficulty to be on LEGEND (which is the hardest difficulty). Select both teams as the Boomers. When you are pitching you'll want to press and hold down on the analog-left.png when you pitch. The CPU will hit almost every pitch. You'll want one of your infielders to catch a ball and hope it is over 110 MPH. He should catch the ball automaticlly. This is somewhat random and took me 3 games before I got it. Once your infielder catches the ball and it recorded 100MPH the achievement will unlock.
