Welcome to NASCAR 08, the 11th game in it's series and the first to the 360 console. NASCAR 08 features several different modes and activities to play including Licenses, Toyota Challenges, Contracts, Driver Badges and finally The Chase mode where you will unlock and earn the Licenses and Contracts available as well as take part in series races. NASCAR fans will undoubtedly enjoy this game to its core while casual racing fans and gamers might find the game a little difficult at first and outside their comfort zone, but there is some intense fun to be had for everyone.
The Chase Mode
The first thing you will want to do is play a full season in this mode and make sure to complete every License & Contract along the way. You will win the NEXTEL cup during your progression of the season. You will also need to earn at least 3 gold medals during The Chase mode. After you are done with this mode, you will have unlocked 7 achievements for 295.
Season Mode/Series Races
You need to win the "Craftsman Truck Series" race, the "NASCAR National Series" race, a "NASCAR Car of Tomorrow" race, any NEXTEL Cup using the "NEXTEL Cup Series '07 Schedule" in season mode as well as any "Championship" using the "Car of Tomorrow Series Full Schedule". By winning all these events you will unlock 5 achievements for 130.
There are 2 achievements for 110 related to the badges. You must earn one driver badge for "Bade of Honor" and then every driver badge to unlock "We Don't Need No Badges!". There are 43 driver badges altogether and a full list of them can be found in the Guide.
Unfortunately, as of early 2009 the servers for this game have been shut down which means you can no longer obtain "Trade Your Paint" for uploading a car setup to the EA Locker & "Online Horsepower" to win an online race.
After you have reached 100% in the game stats, you're likely to be close to 5000 miles driven if not there yet. This is one of the longest achievements in the game therefore if you still need some miles, practice laps do count so set up a 100% Length race there. You also need to complete a 100% Length race in either Race Now or Season mode, the settings don't matter as long as it's set to 100% Length.
You will need to create a custom paint scheme for one car in every class for "Custom Car Creator". You need to complete a Lap in the Toyota "Test and Tune" mode for "We're Talkin' About Practice". Save a Race Replay for "Play It Again, Sam". You need to also save a Craftsman Tools Car Setup at any track by simply saving the default settings to unlock "Craftsman Tools Award". Once all of these are unlocked you will have unlocked a total of 6 achievements for 280.
The final achievement you will unlock is "All or Nothing" for 100 which is to reach 100% game progress. This means you have to complete all Licenses, Contracts, all 43 Driver Badges, every Toyota Challenge & series race in The Chase mode.
