Introduction:
One Step After Fall is a single-player, first-person walking simulator that focuses on the narrative experience. This game introduces Steve Robinson, a successful writer who, due to life's misfortunes, ended up losing important people, faith in his work and the meaning of life. The narrative leads the player to help Steve relive the episodes in his story that dragged him into depression, while getting to know the places that marked his life. From that moment, where Steve may or may not revisit his story, he becomes able to face his destiny and be able to make the most important decision of his life.” - xbox.com

Abbreviated Walkthrough:
This game requires three playthroughs; one for dying, one for getting to the false ending and one for getting to the real ending. The dying and false endings unlock one achievement each, then the rest are unlocked during the real ending. You can play these three playthroughs in any order.

The controls are simple:
lt.png - opens inventory
rt.png - interact
lb.png - sprint
button-a.png - jump
analog-left.png - move
analog-right.png - camera

Note that there is no inverting the Y axis, so if you are used to that (as I am), you will have to suffer.

Playthrough #1
Follow the steps outlined in The big fall (100G).

Playthrough #2
Follow the steps outlined in All Hope is Gone (100G).

Playthrough #3
In this playthrough, we will be obtaining all 10 letters and some random collectibles/miscellaneous achievements. The letters appear in order, meaning that letter #2 won’t appear until #1 is picked up, and so on; you need all the letters to trigger the ending.

Each achievement in this playthrough is written as a walkthrough, so each solution tells you the last achievement that you should have unlocked and the next achievement that you should unlock. The achievements should be unlocked in this order:
 Conclusion:
This game had a semi-interesting story and extremely easy achievements. Whether you’re just playing this game for achievements or paying attention to the story, it’s a pretty painless 1000gs.png. This game is really only good for boosting your gamerscore.

There are 10 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Find the first letter

    *PLAYTHROUGH #3*

    From the starting position, walk ahead a few feet and you will see a sign. Press rt.png to interact with the letter then rt.png again to take it (1/10 - Steve’s Fragment Letter #1).

    The next achievement you will unlock is You Are Breathtaking (100G).
  • Find Cameron's photograph

    From First Step (100G), walk forward to the cabin and interact with the handle with rt.png. Finding it locked, turn to the right and interact with then take the letter on the window (2/10 - Steve’s Fragment Letter #2). Turn around, walk down the steps then turn right and walk up to the windmill and climb the steps. Pick up the key off the barrel. While here, interact with then take the letter on the door (3/10 - Steve’s Fragment Letter #3).

    Return to the cabin and press lt.png while looking at the door. This will open your inventory. Press rt.png on the ‘Cabin’s Key’ to unlock the door then rt.png again to open it then walk in. Turn right and on the bed is a photograph, so interact with and take it for this achievement.

    The next achievement you will unlock is Alive and kicking (100G).
  • Find the self help book

    From She's Only a Ship, Mate (100G), walk off the pier and head diagonally right until you come to a well. Pinned to the side of it is the next letter (9/10 - Steve’s Fragment Letter #6).

    Directly on the ground is another book, so interact with and take it to unlock this achievement.

    The next achievement you will unlock is Bad thoughts (100G).
  • Meet the Scarecrow

    From One more achievement in your life (100G), turn around and walk towards then past the old barn. Just ahead you will see a scarecrow. As you approach it, it will set itself on fire and the achievement will unlock.

    The next achievement you will unlock is Free Bird (100G).
  • Find the Chicken Man

    From Alive and kicking (100G), look to the top of the file cabinet, interact with then take the letter (5/10 - Steve’s Fragment Letter #4). There is also a key here so pick that up. Look at the top drawer and press lt.png to open your inventory. Press rt.png on the ‘Bedside Table Key’ and the drawer will unlock. Open it and interact with the ‘Model 1911 Handgun’ then press lt.png to dismiss.

    Exit the cabin and walk straight ahead and slightly left to reach the tower. Climb the short ladder on the right then the tall ladder in the front. In the room at the top, interact with and take the letter on the desk (6/10 - Bob’s Letter). At the right of the desk, pick up the key. Climb down the ladder onto the wooden platform then jump down so you are at the front of the tower on the ground. Turn around and open the door then walk inside. On the right is a deep sea helmet and inside is the next letter, so interact with and take it (7/10 - Steve’s Fragment Letter #5).

    Exit the tower room and turn right. Walk to the corner of the area and eventually you will see a picnic table with a lantern and basket on it. Interact with the basket to pick up the ‘Zombie #2’ collectible. Press rt.png to take it to unlock this achievement.

    The next achievement you will unlock is She's Only a Ship, Mate (100G).
  • Die once

    *PLAYTHROUGH #1*

    From the starting position, turn right and walk up the hill towards the tower. Climb the small ladder (rt.png to interact), walk to the front of the tower and climb the tall ladder. At the top, turn around, walk forward and fall to the ground.

    Refer to All Hope is Gone (100G) for Playthrough #2.
  • Inspect the medicine bottle

    From You Are Breathtaking (100G), turn left and walk over to the table. Interact with and take the letter (4/10 - Cameron’s Letter).

    Turn left and walk over to the black file cabinet on the left. Open the bottom drawer with rt.png and there will be a medicine bottle in it. Interact with it to unlock this.

    The next achievement you will unlock is That was easy (100G).
  • Collect the book The Sea of ​​Thieves

    From That was easy (100G), turn to the left and walk diagonally to the center of the map and eventually you will happen upon a small pond with a pier. At the end of the pier, interact with and take the next letter (8/10 - John’s Letter). Next to the letter is a book, so interact with and take it to unlock this achievement.

    The next achievement you will unlock is One more achievement in your life (100G).
  • Achieve the False Ending

    *PLAYTHROUGH #2*

    For this achievement, these steps need to be done in the order listed because objects don’t appear until other objects are obtained or when Steve writes in his diary.

    - From the starting position, walk forward to the cabin
    - Press rt.png on the door to discover it’s locked (diary updated)
    - Turn around, turn right and walk to the windmill
    - Climb the steps around the back and pick up the ‘Cabin’s Key’ (diary updated)
    - Return to the cabin and press lt.png while focused on the door
    - Press rt.png to unlock the door then rt.png to open it
    - Walk to the back, turn left and pick up the ‘Bedside Table Key’ off the file cabinet
    - Press lt.png on the top drawer and rt.png to unlock it
    - Open the top drawer and interact with the ‘Model 1911 Handgun’ then lt.png to dismiss (diary updated)
    - Exit the cabin and walk straight ahead and slightly left to the tower
    - Climb the two ladders then pick up the ‘Chest’s Key’ off the desk (diary updated)
    - Descend the ladder and walk straight ahead (with the tower behind you) until you reach an old barn
    - Enter the barn, climb the short ladder then unlock the chest (lt.png then rt.png)
    - Open the chest and take the ‘Model 1911 Magazine’ (diary updated)
    - Exit the old barn and return to then enter the cabin
    - Walk to the back, pick up the ‘Model 1911 Handgun’ then press rt.png
    - Achievement unlocks

  • Achieve the Real Ending

    From Bad thoughts (100G), turn back around and head to the old barn. Enter from the side then climb the ladder and you will see a chest in front of you. Look at the chest and press lt.png to open your inventory. Press rt.png on the ‘Chest’s Key’ and the chest will unlock. Open it and inside is your final letter, so interact with and take it (10/10 - Carol’s Letter).

    A short cutscene will play revealing a ring of light, so leave the old barn and walk to it. Step into the ring and enjoy the achievement.
