Introduction:
The infection goes nation-wide in Outbreak: Epidemic, an action-focused co-op survival horror adventure. Featuring the great Outbreak series gameplay with greater mobility, crushing difficulty and more camera options than ever before. Alone or in 2-player local co-op, fight through the Campaign story mode, the wave-based Onslaught Mode and all new Experiments Mode scenarios. Choose your survivor, class and level up to unlock new buffs for your survivor as you face the nightmare. You'll need to manage your inventory and supplies carefully, so make every bullet count!

Abbreviated Walkthrough:
The game's achievements can all be picked up extremely quickly and require only completing the Tutorial chapter of Campaign and one playthrough of a single scenario of Onslaught mode.

Your first step will be to play the Tutorial chapter on nightmare difficulty, netting you all the campaign achievements as difficulties stack. See The Nightmare Rages (150G) for more information.

Thereafter, a playthrough of Onslaught mode should net you all remaining achievements. See Take Down the Horde (100G) for how to easily complete this.

Finally the only achievement you may not have gotten upon clearing the two modes is Overwhelming Infection (50G) for dying, simply start a new game then stand next to the first zombie you find.

Conclusion:
Whilst the game tries to replicate the survival horror of titles of old, the achievements can be gained quickly without really playing through it.

There are 10 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Simply start a game, walk up to the first zombie you see then stand next to them until they kill you.
  • Clear Onslaught Mode on any scenario and difficulty.

Start a new game with the following settings

    • Character: Renault
    • Class: Lumberjack
    • Onslaught Mode
    • Gas Station Scenario (1/9)
    • Easy Difficulty
    • Realism Mode
The Lumberjack class gives Renault the ability to heal himself whilst doing massive melee damage, so use your knife and just run arounde stabbing every zombie you find. On easy difficulty it should be nearly impossible to die. The scenario ends once you have killed 65 enemies. During the scenario you'll also come across the three special enemy types which will get you the following achievements unavoidably by the time you finish the scenario; They're Hunting You... (100G), Enforcing the Apocalypse (150G), and Too Strong For You (150G).

Editor's Note: With two stacks of this game available (this version and the Xbox Series X|S Definitive Edition), I was able to use the starting knife first try on this version, but kept dying on the XSX|S version. If you find yourself dying while using the Hunting Knife trying for this achievement, instead, as soon as the scenario starts, right straight ahead to the other end of the map. You'll reach the actual gas station building. You can't go inside, but on the ground in front of the door a bit is a sledgehammer. Pick it up and equip it. It's much slower than the knife, but far stronger AND it hits multiple enemies with a single swing. I did it first try with the sledgehammer.

  • Clear a Campaign scenario on Nightmare Difficulty.

    *Story related; can't be missed.

Start a new game with the following settings
    • Campaign mode
    • Tutorial Scenario (1/5)
    • Nightmare Difficulty
    • Realism Mode
    • Any character & class
Once it starts, collect the ranged weapons from the starting area and any ammo you find. Kill your first few zombies, which will unlock Aim for the Head! (50G), until you kill a couple of them next to a stack of seven barrels on their side. From here, turn right when you can and go round the short fence, open the safe next to the wall (Code: 1077), collect the car key from the safe and the ammo just next to/past it, then continue on.

When you reach the area with the helicopter, after killing the zombies (there's one hiding back around the side of the helicopter too), go to the car on the left and use the keys on the trunk to find the Wire Coil, then use this on the helicopter to try and fix it.

At this point four zombies will appear (from the direction you originally came from), so if you have your shotgun use this to dispatch them then head back to where you started and the scenario will end with the achievement unlocking.
  • Defeat a Zombie.

Can't be missed, awarded when you kill your first zombie. Just shoot them a few times and they should die.
  • Defeat a Reptile.

Reptile zombies basically look more reptilian. Simply kill one and the achievement is yours. See Take Down the Horde (100G) for easy way to do this.
  • Defeat an Enforcer.

Enforcer zombies are slightly bigger, more muscular and stronger zombies. Simply kill one and the achievement is yours. See Take Down the Horde (100G) for easy way to do this.
  • Defeat a Brute

Brute zombies are very tall and take more hits than normal zombies. Simply kill one and the achievement is yours. See Take Down the Horde (100G) for easy way to do this.
