Introduction
Welcome to the Popcornflix app, an app that provides you a multitude of movies from the strange and quirky, to the downright creepy and grotesque. There is a tremendous amount of content, and many items you may never have heard of throughout the depths of Popcornflix. The app does a fairly good job at having you dip into different genres, and like most apps that have you watch content, you will need to watch 100 titles to finish the app off. Luckily we will be able to utilize the fast-forward trick to the fullest and fly through the app baring the occasional error for replay and video that does not count. Let's begin by revisiting the fast-forward trick.
Important Tip--Fast Forward
The app counts a video as 'watched' even if you fast-forward ( during the video) it to the end, play it, watch the achievement app tracker on the right hand side, and when the tracker updates you can quit out of the video. Choose the next video and rinse and repeat.
Make sure you have the achievement app snapped throughout this app to save time and frustration!
Important Note--Change Region for TV
The TV section of Popcornflix will only appear for consoles set to US region. You may need to set your console region to the US in order to be able to access television shows.
Abbreviated Walkthrough
So overall this app will have you watching 100 videos. First off let's scroll over to the genres section and choose 'Horror.' Now press on the first video (possibly The Attic unless new titles are added) and hit the add to queue button. Back out of the video and move to the next movie doing the same thing until you hit number five, and the achievement for adding five to your queue, "Queued Up." Now go back to the first video and utilize the fast-forward trick to watch it. Fast-forward to the end with the
and then play with a small amount of time left (approximately 30 seconds to 1.5 minutes). Your achievement tracker should track this, and you will unlock "One down… (Movies)," and your first out of 10 horror movies. After the next nine horror films you will unlock "Fright Night." Repeat the process for dramas ("Drama Queen") and documentaries ("Documentarian").
For action and family you will be utilizing television series to fill the place of films. For the action we will be heading to the television series called Destination Disaster. After your first episode you will unlock "One down… (TV Show)," after the fifth "Binger," and when you hit 10 episodes you will finish off dramas with "Drama Queen." For family/kids we switch channels to the kids section, and choose Pet Alien. At this point we want to use every episode from Pet Alien possible to add up to the 100th title. After 10 episodes you will unlock the family/kids achievement "Family Friendly" leaving you with only "Cinephile" which unlocks after 100 titles have been watched. Fast-forwarding through television shows is the fastest way to finish the achievement off, and complete the app.
Conclusion
Well there you have it ladies and gentlemen, Popcornflix app finished in a couple to a few hours depending on how often your app has viewing errors. There is a wide variety of content and quite a relaxing format for finding what you seek making this one of the better movie viewing apps on the Xbox One. Hopefully the G&RM helped and you were able to finish the app off without too much pain or frustration. Until next time we load it up!
