Introduction:
Rise of Insanity is a first-person psychological horror game that sees you take on the role of a doctor who must uncover the truth behind his latest patient’s split personality, delving into the dark recesses of his mind. How is this patient involved with the tragedy that befell the doctor's family?
Set in 1970, the lack of understanding behind mental health issues makes for a somewhat disturbing experience. Dr Stephen Dowell’s methods have been called into question and he faces his biggest challenge so far. Not only that but it seems as though the good doctor harbours some secrets of his own.
Abbreviated Walkthrough:
You can play the game blind and enjoy the bizarre concept of it, unlocking what you can along the way, if you'd like. Otherwise, all achievements can be obtained in a single playthrough.
Assuming you want to unlock all achievements in your first playthrough, you're going to want to do just about everything the game has to offer. You'll pick up every collectible and earn all miscellaneous achievements. None of these things stack over playthroughs, so unless you earned one of the achievements in your first playthrough, you'll have to do all necessary actions in a second playthrough, recollect all collectibles, etc., to get any achievements you missed.
Conclusion:
It’s not a long game and can be wrapped up in about 1 hour, but during that time you’ll be fascinated about the tale of mental health and the horrors that came about from the patient the doctor was working with.
Note: Although it is very hard to die, you still can, which is why it's a 2/10.
