This game was given a 5/10 rating because while the achievements aren't too difficult to achieve, those not familiar with fighting games will definitely have trouble and even those that are experienced will experience difficulty. Overall, this game is an easy 910 if you have a boosting partner but an overall difficult 1000.

Introduction:
Samurai Shodown Sen is the most recent in the line of 3D Samurai Shodown games from SNK. A majority of the achievements will come from simply completing the Story Mode with each character on any difficulty. One achievement, however, requires you to complete each Story Mode on Expert, and another requires you to win 1000 rounds of fighting. The other achievements will come naturally or through online boosting.

Step 1: Story Mode
Here, we will be completing each characters Story Mode. I recommend starting from Charlotte on the top-left and working your way over so as to not miss any characters. I also recommend that you start on Expert Mode so as to not require another 24 playthroughs when you finish with another difficulty. Also, after completing a Story Mode, be sure to put in SNK as your name on the scoring screen for an additional achievement. After you have completed this arduous task, you will have claimed a total of 28 achievements for 571 .

Tips:
-Find a character you're good at and stick with him or her, only switching characters when you need to defeat Golba in the last round.
- An easy way to beat Draco even on Expert is to stay at mid-range. When he kneels down to shoot at you, sidestep the blast and rush in, pressing either or . Rinse and repeat until he is dead.
- Golba is easier than Draco. He has many attacks that keep him still after he uses them, so take advantage of this. Sidestep his attacks and get in couple of your own, preferably a Strong Hit ( or ). The basic Throw (), then Unblockable Attack (), then Unblockable Attack () seems to work here too, for the most part.

Step 2: Survival Mode
This step is quick and easy. All you need to do is defeat 26 characters in a row without dying. This might sound daunting, but as long as you have Draco unlocked, you should be fine. Utilize his +, then x8 combo for easy kills. After completing Survival Mode, you should have accumulated a total of 31 achievements for 631 .

Step 3: Ranked Matches
To make things go a whole lot easier, find a boosting buddy in [this thread] to help you out. After matching two specific characters together for five achievements, work at alternating wins until you both reach 100 wins. You can also work on your Desperation Slash achievements here if you wish. Also, make sure that you kill an opponent in a Ranked match with under 10% health as well as score Perfects for an entire Ranked match for another three achievements. After finishing with both the online and the Story Mode, you should have racked up a total of 44 achievements for 890 .

Conclusion
If all has gone as planned, you should only need to use 100 Desperation Slashes, win 1000 rounds of fighting and make a Draw happen. With these completed, you will have gotten the full 50 achievements and 1000 .

There are 50 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • To launch Slash 10 times successfully (in all modes except practice mode)

    See "Super swordman".
  • To launch Slash 50 times successfully (in all modes except practice mode)

    See "Super swordman".
  • To launch Slash 100 times successfully (in all modes except practice mode)

To unlock these achievements, you must connect 100 'Desperate Slashes' with your opponent.
Although winning is sometimes referred to as 'Slash' in this game, what the achievement refers to is a 'Desperation Slash' (also known as a 'Fatal Slash' in the manual). You can only perform these Slashes when your health is below 30% and your health bar is pulsing red. The way to pull them off is slightly different for each character, being either , +, + or , +, + .

Recommended: Set up a five-round, infinite timer game in Versus with Claude as Player 1 and anyone as Player 2. Have both players reduced to critical health (pulsing red health bar) and then have Player 1 (Claude) input , +, + . If performed right, the screen will darken and the words 'Desperation Slash' will appear on the screen after the attack. Alternate who dies each round for maximum efficiency.

NOTE: The Slashes only need to connect with the opponent, not kill them (although that is nice too).
  • To provocate the opponent for 50 rounds (in all modes except practice mode)

To get this achievement, you must taunt 50 times.
To taunt in this game, you must click in combat when your Anger Meter is not full. Contrary to the achievement's description, you only need to taunt a cumulative 50 times, not necessarily spread out over 50 rounds.
  • To kill 5 men in Survival mode

    See "The invincible".
  • To kill 13 men in Survival mode

    See "The invincible".
  • To kill 26 men in Survival mode

To unlock this achievement, you must kill 26 opponents in a row in Survival mode without dying. Not a simple task. However, it is made extremely easy when you unlock Draco after completing the Story Mode for 12 characters, so I recommend waiting until then.

Using Draco, only one combo needs to be mastered to breeze though Survival mode. Hitting + and then mashing will result in sixteen shotgun blasts pushing away the opponent, most likely juggling them in the air and damaging them quite a bit. The Unblockable Attack () can be used too, but only when at a safe distance.
  • To kill thousand of men (in any mode)

To unlock this achievement, you must win 1000 rounds of combat in any mode. The most time-consuming achievement here besides finishing all characters' Story Modes on Expert.

If you have a turbo controller, then follow this route: Go into versus mode with one round and a thirty-second timer. Rubberband the second controller so that Player 2 is moving towards Player 1. Remap one of the Strong Slash (/) buttons to , set to turbo and then tape the button down. Now, go do something else, but make sure the controllers don't turn off if they're wireless. This should take anywhere from 5-8 hours, depending on how many rounds you've won elsewhere.

If you don't have a turbo controller, as least you can have fun butchering your least favorite characters over and over in varied gory ways, right?
  • To kill the opponent with full HP (in Ranked match, within 1 round)

You must score a Perfect in one round of a Ranked match. That is, you must win one round of a Ranked match without taking any damage. This is easily boostable.
  • To have Xbox LIVE fighting for once (regardless of the result, in any match)

Simply finish an Xbox LIVE match. Ranked or Player, win or lose, as long as you finish the match, it doesn't matter.
  • To win in Xbox LIVE fighting for 5 times (in Ranked match)

    See "Cacodemon Roza".
  • To win in Xbox LIVE fighting for 20 times (in Ranked match)

    See "Cacodemon Roza".
  • To win in Xbox LIVE fighting for 50 times (in Ranked match)

    See "Cacodemon Roza".
  • To kill the opponent with full HP (in Ranked match, within 1 match)

You must score a Perfect in a Ranked match. That is, you must win a Ranked match without taking any damage. This is easily boostable.
  • To kill the opponent when you are dying (in Ranked match)

To get this achievement, you must defeat an opponent in a Ranked match with when you are at 5% health or below. There is no indicator for this unlike 30% health, so get it down as low as you can with simple slashes without dying.

If you want as little playthroughs as possible, compound the story achievements with "Legendary hierophant"

If you don't mind playing through the Story Mode 48 times, then spend your first 24 with each character on Beginner mode with one round and a thirty second timer. A throw () followed by two unblockable attacks () is a good combo to learn for Beginner mode.
  • To complete the Story mode with all characters (with the highest difficulty)

To unlock this achievement, complete Story Mode for all 24 characters on Expert difficulty.
I won't lie, this is the hardest achievement in the game. The AI is very good at pulling off difficult and non-stop combos on you while you are helpless to fight back.
It will be a long and frustrating road, but here are a couple of tips to help you along the way:

    - You can use another character up until Golba, just as long as it is the character you want to finish Story Mode that finishes Golba off.
    - Find out which character you are best with and can maneuver around the most with. This will help a lot. Trust me.
    - Combos are difficult, hard to pull off and aren't guaranteed to work or hit, and that might mean the difference between life and death. The same result can be achieved quicker by exploiting sidestepping and landing a Strong Hit (/) with much less frustration and time spent. Rimururu works best with this strategy, as she is very fast.
    - You cannot use Draco or Golba in Story Mode, so don't waste time unlocking them on an easier difficulty to use on harder difficulties.

Secret achievements

  • To win in Xbox LIVE fighting for 100 times (in Ranked match)

To get this achievement, you will need to win 100 Ranked Xbox LIVE matches.
The online community is (and always has been) pretty much dead, so doing this legitimately is nigh impossible. However, this also means that it is incredibly easy to set up a boosting match. You can even choose the host you want from the 'Custom Match' screen to more easily find your partner.
The game also keeps track of your Ranked wins and shows you after each match.
  • Nakoruru fights against Rimururu (in Ranked match)

In a Ranked Xbox LIVE match, have one person pick Nakoruru and another pick Rimururu. The achievement will unlock for both people after one round regardless of who wins.
  • Sogetsu fights against Kazuki (in Ranked match)

In a Ranked Xbox LIVE match, have one person pick Sogetsu and another pick Kazuki. The achievement will unlock for both people after one round regardless of who wins.
  • Walter fights against Charlotte (in Ranked match)

In a Ranked Xbox LIVE match, have one person pick Walter and another pick Charlotte. The achievement will unlock for both people after one round regardless of who wins.
  • Haohmaru fights against Genjuro (in Ranked match)

In a Ranked Xbox LIVE match, have one person pick Haohmaru and another pick Genjuro. The achievement will unlock for both people after one round regardless of who wins.
  • Hanzo fights against Galford (in Ranked match)

In a Ranked Xbox LIVE match, have one person pick Hanzo and another pick Galford. The achievement will unlock for both people after one round regardless of who wins.
  • Type in "SNK" in NAME ENTRY screen under Story mode

In the scoring screen after finishing Story mode for a character, in the upper-left corner of the screen, you should be able to input three letters as a name. Simply type in 'SNK' as the name and you will have your glorious 1.
  • Two sides in the fight die simultaneously

This achievement will unlock when you get a Draw, or when you and your opponent die at the same time. This can be unlocked in any mode.

The easiest way to do this is to go into Versus mode with two controllers and have both pick Haohmaru. Get both characters down to as little health as possible. Then, facing each other, simultaneously press on both controllers and they should both strike at the same time, resulting in a draw and a shiny new zero-pointer achievement.
