Introduction:
Welcome back to the brutal world of Shank, where decapitations and spraying arteries are the norm. Now brought to you at a very reasonable price of 800 points.
Remember too, that if you check under medals in the main menu it will have your progress for every achievement in the game and it will also list which medals unlock extra characters for survival mode.
Step 1: Normal Playthrough:
You might as well start this game on normal as the difficulty achievements do not stack. Plus it’ll be a good warm up of the odds you will face during your hard playthrough. There are eight levels overall, but none of it is too difficult. This game seems to be a lot easier than the first Shank and it controls better. On the first level go for the achievement, up close and personal to get it out of the way. Also, work on your different kills and counters as well as the heavy objects smash. This is also a good time to be on the lookout and collect the tied up militia to earn the Freedom Fighter achievement, although it will take two playthroughs to get this one, as there is not enough militia on one run.
Step 2: Hard Playthrough:
Although this is obviously harder than the normal playthrough, this version of hard is a lot easier than the first Shank. There are more checkpoints in the actual level and the game in general is just easier. Take your time, build up your combos and utilize Shanks pounce move a lot to stay on the move. For the boss fights figure out what weapons do the most damage to them and exploit their weakness. All the bosses have just a few attacks they repeat over and over again and most of them can be easily dodged with Shank’s roll maneuver.
Step 3: Survival mode and Mop Up:
If you want all of the achievements from survival mode it will probably take you some time. This is not an easy mode and it’s going to take a lot of patience, mad skills and a good co-op partner. So first off, find that good partner and then jump in. Play all three stages to wave 13 to unlock zombie killer. I would suggest taking turns with your partner on who gets the achievement and then switch off. It’s a lot easier to help one of you get it done on the earlier waves instead of both of you trying to get the same thing and screwing each other over. This is also a good time to finish off any kills or counters you still need. There are 30 waves in all that you have to pass and that will be the hardest survival achievement. Focus on learning enemies and what waves they’ll appear and save your money for decoys as they are quite handy.
Conclusion:
After some pain and suffering and probably a few moments of wanting to throw your controller you’ll finally have the full 200/200 on a very enjoyable sequel.
