Introduction:
Welcome back to the brutal world of Shank, where decapitations and spraying arteries are the norm. Now brought to you at a very reasonable price of 800 points.

Remember too, that if you check under medals in the main menu it will have your progress for every achievement in the game and it will also list which medals unlock extra characters for survival mode.

Step 1: Normal Playthrough:
You might as well start this game on normal as the difficulty achievements do not stack. Plus it’ll be a good warm up of the odds you will face during your hard playthrough. There are eight levels overall, but none of it is too difficult. This game seems to be a lot easier than the first Shank and it controls better. On the first level go for the achievement, up close and personal to get it out of the way. Also, work on your different kills and counters as well as the heavy objects smash. This is also a good time to be on the lookout and collect the tied up militia to earn the Freedom Fighter achievement, although it will take two playthroughs to get this one, as there is not enough militia on one run.

Step 2: Hard Playthrough:
Although this is obviously harder than the normal playthrough, this version of hard is a lot easier than the first Shank. There are more checkpoints in the actual level and the game in general is just easier. Take your time, build up your combos and utilize Shanks pounce move a lot to stay on the move. For the boss fights figure out what weapons do the most damage to them and exploit their weakness. All the bosses have just a few attacks they repeat over and over again and most of them can be easily dodged with Shank’s roll maneuver.

Step 3: Survival mode and Mop Up:
If you want all of the achievements from survival mode it will probably take you some time. This is not an easy mode and it’s going to take a lot of patience, mad skills and a good co-op partner. So first off, find that good partner and then jump in. Play all three stages to wave 13 to unlock zombie killer. I would suggest taking turns with your partner on who gets the achievement and then switch off. It’s a lot easier to help one of you get it done on the earlier waves instead of both of you trying to get the same thing and screwing each other over. This is also a good time to finish off any kills or counters you still need. There are 30 waves in all that you have to pass and that will be the hardest survival achievement. Focus on learning enemies and what waves they’ll appear and save your money for decoys as they are quite handy.

Conclusion:
After some pain and suffering and probably a few moments of wanting to throw your controller you’ll finally have the full 200/200 on a very enjoyable sequel.

There are 20 achievements with a total of 200 points

  • Defeat all the waves in any Survival map

    (8)

Aside from hard mode, this will be the hardest achievement in the game. There are 30 total waves you must complete. This is the strategy my friend and I used to get it. It might take a few times to get it down but it works really well.

    1. Get a good co-op partner.
    2. One of you needs to be the charters Chops and the other needs to be Defender. These characters revive and disarm bombs really quickly.
    3. Pick the arena "I'm on a boat."
    4. There are two harpoon guns on this level. For this strategy both of you will basically be doing nothing but spamming them to kill everything. There is a small delay to reload them so take that into account, but if you happen to have a line of enemies it will shoot through all of them. A harpoon will insta kill anything but the bosses, although the bosses are a breeze if you both harpoon him.
    5. So as the enemies enter the boat harpoon them, but make sure to watch each other's areas as the harpoons have limited movement. Also make sure to always watch for bombers trying to destroy your crates. Shoot them first if possible, as well as any big guys, gunners or molotov enemies.
    6. Don't forget to jump off the gun occasionally and grab the yellow orbs so you can gain money. They do disappear.
    7. You shouldn't have any problems with this until around wave 18 or so. At that point if things are two rough for both of you to be on a gun have the person playing as the Defender run around and get enemies attention and kill from far away. He can also be on the ready to disarm bombs.
    8. Once your in the last ten waves send out decoys if you want, but be careful with your money as you don't want to spend too much. In the end we used three decoys during the last five waves and saved the rest of our money for missile barrages.
    9. Speaking of missile barrages. On wave 27 and 30 you will have to fight lots of fast zombies, big zombies and a boss zombie. So when those waves start wait until the boss zombie appears then launch a missile barrage. If you're lucky it should kill the boss and most of the others, leaving you a few manageable stragglers.
    10. Repeat for wave 30 and you should be able to beat it.
  • Complete Campaign Mode on Normal difficulty

The difficulty achievements don’t stack in this game so you’ll have to beat it on normal and hard. Normal isn’t too difficult and there are plenty of checkpoints to make things easier. Just beat all eight levels for this one.

  • Complete Campaign Mode on Hard difficulty

The good news is that this time around hard mood is easier. Although, not that much easier. There are more checkpoints than the last games hard mood and overall all the game seems easier. The biggest challenge will probably be the boss fights, but with some patience and trial and error you should have no problem with those eventually.

    • Always roll out of the way of attacks and bosses.
    • Spam the pounce move, as it will get you out of bad situations.
    • Master the counter move so you can insta kill some people.
    • Make bombers and gunners your first priority or they will make life hard.
    • Ranged weapons and bombs can give you breathing room.
    • Always check around the levels. Lots of them have little alcoves and somewhat hidden areas that contain tequila.
    • Make use of dropped weapons from enemies as they do a lot of damage and can be thrown. Same goes for environmental weapons and traps.
  • Perform 100 Machete Counter Kills

To perform a counter kill you have to knock down an enemy’s health until they’re blinking red. Once there, wait until they attack and you see a red exclamation mark over their head. When you see it press the  and you’ll perform a counter move. This is cumulative and can be done in story mode and survival. Must be done against enemies carrying a machete, otherwise it will not count.

A good place to grind these out is about halfway through level 3. You'll come to a point where there's a guy trying to squish you with a boat. You have to kill him before moving on so you can just keep performing counters on the enemies that jump in until you unlock the achievement.

  • Perform 60 Pistol Counter Kills

Just like the machete counters, except you have to do it on an enemy holding a gun. For these ones you don’t have to knock down their health before you can perform it. Just wait near an enemy with a gun and when they start to aim at you and the red exclamation appears press  near them to perform the counter. This is cumulative and can be done in story mode and survival.

A good place to grind these out is about halfway through level 3. You'll come to a point where there's a guy trying to squish you with a boat. You have to kill him before moving on so you can just keep performing counters on the enemies that jump in until you unlock the achievement.

  • Get 30 firetrap kills in one Survival match

This has to be done on the church level. On the left and right side of the level are switches. Flick one of those and the corresponding fire trap will turn on. I found this to be easy enough in co-op. Have your partner either throw enemies into the fire trap or lead them there so you can turn it on. I unlocked this around wave seven after killing almost each wave enemy with it. This achievement is not cumulative so it does all have to be done in one match, otherwise you start your count over.

  • Do 10 combos of 20 hits or more

Like any other game, combos revolve around you hitting an enemy over and over without your chain being broken. It’s usually easiest to start with the shank move , and then pounce the enemy so you can get four or five more hits in. Finally use your gun to shoot other nearby enemies or pounce the next one to keep the chain going.

  • Reach the zombie wave in each Survival map

There are a total of three survival maps and for this achievement you just need to make it to round 13 on each one, as that is the zombie wave. Not very hard at all.

  • Kill a Survival Boss with no traps or grenades

    (1)

This one can be kind of annoying but is pretty easy with a co-op partner. I found Shanks chainsaw and shotgun to be a good combo for the boss. Just keep your distance and constantly attack the boss, who first shows up on wave six. If he gets close roll with the  button as his attacks can really damage you. If you get downed have your partner revive you. Just keep at it and don’t touch the traps or use grenades and you’ll have this in no time.

  • Stay alive for 15 consecutive Survival waves

    (1)

This particular achievement can be fairly difficult. This needs to be done in survival and it’s much easier to do with a co-op partner, though I’m sure it’s quite possible solo. For this achievement you have to survive 15 waves without losing all your health and getting downed. Keep your distance from most enemies and spam your long range weapons or grenades. Make sure to heal with tequila whenever you’re at half health. On the boss round it’s easiest to use traps and shoot them from afar so you don’t take too much damage. Or if you have a co-op partner have him do most of the fighting so you can keep your health up. After round 15 you will get the achievement if you haven’t been downed.

  • Buy nothing for 10 straight waves of Survival

    (1)

Another one that is easiest done with a co-op partner. For ten waves you can’t buy a single thing. If your partner buys tequila you can still drink it and it won’t count against you, so just work together and have him buy everything for the first ten rounds. Then switch out and do it for him.

  • Beat a Campaign level with no ranged attacks

The easiest level to do this in is the first one, as it’s pretty short. Just play through the level and don’t use your throwing knives or guns at all--grenades are okay though. After you finish the level the achievement will unlock.

  • Find the kitchen sink and kill someone with it

On level 7, The last resort, you will find the sink in a room with a prisoner and an enemy. It's right after you jump down from a deck. You'll see a door to the left that you need to go in to find it. Just pick the sink up and throw it at an enemy to kill them.

  • Buy everything in Survival Mode

This does not have to be done in a single session. To access them just hit  on the controller and buy whatever you need. Here’s a list of the eight items needed and what round they unlock.

    1. Round 3- Tequila
    2. Round 5- Wild Boar
    3. Round 7- Decoy
    4. Round 10- Minigun
    5. Round 13- Turret
    6. Round 15- Thumper
    7. Round 17- Fireballer
    8. Round 20- Missile Barrage
  • Kill 100 enemies using the shovel

    (2)

Some of the big enemies carry a large shovel with them. After killing them you can pick up the shovel and use it in place of your normal heavy weapon. You will have to do this multiple times as the shovel breaks after only a dozen hits or so. This can be done in story mode and survival and is cumulative.

  • Execute 150 kills with the baseball bat

    (1)

Some of the smaller enemies carry a baseball bat with them and it’s the same deal as the shovel. Kill them, pick it up and kill other enemies with it. If you perform a counter on a bat enemy it will also count toward this. Can be done in story mode and survival and is cumulative.

  • Kill 12 enemies

Should be the first achievement you get. This can be done in story or survival mode.

  • Kill 50 enemies with the heavy object smash

Heavy objects are things like the sink and wheel that you find throughout the levels. Just pick them up and throw them at enemies to kill them until you hit 50. You can also use the cars located in some levels that you can push with , as they also count toward it. On level 7 you can take the sink with you through the rest of the level and kill as many people as possible as it does not break like other weaons. There should be enough to get the achievement or get pretty close.

  • Rescue 50 Civilians From The Militia

Through the course of the story you’ll come across civilians that are tied up. They are usually easy to find and out in the open. Just walk up to them and hit the  to release them. This is a cumulative achievement so you will probably unlock it during your second playthrough.

There's a place to grind this out easily at the end of chapter six on the boat. Before the last boss you'll come to an area where you have to fight a large amount of enemies and get the keys to unlock shipping containers where militia members are held. There's three containers total and seven militia. Rescue the first four and then die so you restart the checkpoint and can rescue the first four again. Don't worry it will autosave the ones you rescue. Make sure to not rescue the last three as that will move the level forward and you'll end up with the boss as a checkpoint.

  • Do 30 counters in one Survival match

    (1)

Counters are when you wear an enemy down until they’re blinking red. Then wait for them to attack and hit when there’s a red exclamation mark over their head. You’re better off doing this as much as possible in the first ten waves as things get a little hectic after that. This does have to be done during one session and is not cumulative. I found it was easy with a co-op partner. While one of us would be doing a counter move the other one would keep the other enemies attention and soften them up.
