Welcome to Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution! The game is a fairly easy 1,000, although it will take a little bit of time to earn the complete amount. There are a lot of miscellaneous achievements you should pick up without effort, but a few are actually challenging and require guidance to acquire.
NOTE: Some people have reported the Difficulties Mastered achievement is glitched. The best way to avoid this happening is to exit fully back to the main menu after winning a game. If the achievement does glitch on you, the only thing you can do is redo each civilization and exit back to the main menu after each win.
Step 1: Familiarizing Yourself with the Game
The controls and command system on the game are a lot to take in at once. Taking the time to play a few rounds just to get used to the game can make a world of difference. After this step, we'll be moving straight into King difficulty, so be sure you're ready before you proceed. If you'd like to pick up some achievements while doing this, the best to go for are The Universal Brotherhood of Man, Organized Knowledge, The Root of All Evil, Curse of the Drinking Class, What is the City But the People?, and The Will to Win is Everything. You'll also get various other miscellaneous achievements as you proceed without even trying, just because they're such common occurrences. When you think you're ready for King difficulty, proceed to step 2.
Step 2: King Difficulty Achievements
Now you'll be going for three achievements in particular: That We May Live in Peace, Absolute Power is Kind of Neat and Power Never Takes a Step Back. The guide below has excellent strategies for obtaining these, so use them! None of them should be difficult, but That We May Live in Peace is annoying due to the fact that you'll constantly be reloading a save to get it. Just like in the last step, you'll also receive some achievements without even trying.
Step 3: Deity Difficulty Achievements
This is the hard part. Once you get done with these, it'll be smooth sailing for the rest of the gamerscore. For each of these achievements (Embiggens the Smallest Man, Such Joy Ambition Finds, Playing the Game, and Indistinguishable from Magic), you'll need to win a specific kind of victory on Deity difficulty. Just as in the last step, the guide below has excellent strategies that will help you tremendously in gaining these achievements, so refer to it for instruction. Doing this will also earn you Destroyer of Worlds and all of the victory type-specific achievements.
Step 4: Difficulties Mastered
This is a rather easy, but fairly time consuming achievement. For Difficulties Mastered, you'll need to win as each civilization at least once. From your previous games, you should have a fair amount of these achievements already unlocked. For the ones you have left, see the strategy under Difficulties Mastered below. Doing so should finish up this achievement for you in less than three hours.
Step 5: Wrap Up/Here's Looking at You, Kid
Finish off any achievements you're still lacking using the guide below. One of the last (or more likely the last) achievement you'll have left is Here's Looking at You, Kid. For this achievement, you'll need to unlock all famous persons. It's very unclear what unlocks a specific famous person, and it seems to be random aside from time period-specific persons and the fact that certain civilizations have affinities for specific famous people. With this in mind, the best guide for the achievement can be found here (guide by juniorgonzolezz from GameFAQs). It will still take a fair amount of time to finish this achievement up, but that guide will significantly reduce your frustration when trying to finish it. Good luck!
After 20+ hours, the full 1000 is now yours. Congratulations on accomplishing this feat!
