Introduction:
Welcome to Sniper Elite V2 Remastered! Originally released in 2012 by Rebellion, you return to the shoes of Karl Fairburne, an elite World War II American sniper, tasked with ultimately preventing the Russians from obtaining German V2 rocket technology. Snipe your way through 11 missions as you gather vital intel about key German figures attempting to defect to the Russian cause while locating and aiding German scientists eager to assist the Allies.

The game has been completely remastered visually and features 11 campaign missions and 4 DLC missions, all playable solo or online in two-player co-op, each with numerous objectives and collectibles. In addition, there are Overwatch missions, Bombing Run mode, an all-new Photo Mode and online competitive multiplayer with 7 game modes ranging from Team Deathmatch to Distance King for up to 16 players.

The game also includes many cumulative achievements which require a modicum of grinding, but a pop-up tracker has been provided for some to show your progression incrementally. Additional statistics, such as kills with certain weapons, collectibles you’ve obtained and distance you’ve shot can be viewed in the Career Stats in the main menu.

Campaign (Solo or Co-op on 'Cadet/Marksman' difficulty):
The campaign consists of 11 missions. These can be done either solo or online in two-player co-op. If playing in co-op, both players will receive the mission completion achievements. Everything else needs to be performed by a specific player in order for them to unlock.

It is recommended that you do at least two playthroughs; one on a lower difficulty ('Cadet' or 'Marksman') and one on 'Sniper Elite' difficulty. For the purposes of this guide, it is assumed that you will be unlocking most of the campaign achievements on one of the lower difficulties. Therefore, I will not be repeating myself in each solution by saying it's recommended you play on a lower difficulty.

While it is recommended that you play through as stealthily as possible to avoid being overrun by enemies, at the same time it might introduce fresh gameplay that can be fun and challenging if you don’t. Obviously play how you like.

By playing through the campaign, you will automatically unlock all 11 "... Sniper" story achievements. You will likely unlock other single-action achievements without realizing it, as many as 10 of them, such as Mousetrap Fuse (10G), Make Every Bullet Count (25G) and Hide and Hope (10G), to name a few. Also, you should be locating all the collectibles on this playthrough, specifically for the Gold Rush (25G) and Jungle Juice (50G) achievements.

While a good deal of the miscellaneous cumulative achievements can earn progress on any difficulty, you will likely not unlock many during your first playthrough. But, you might want to attempt in-level specific achievements, such as Get Off the Ground (10G), High and Mighty (10G), Fish Tank (10G) and Kilroy was Here (10G), just so you don’t have to concentrate on anything in your 'Sniper Elite' playthrough.

Campaign (Solo on 'Sniper Elite' difficulty):
Note: Just like the Xbox 360 version, this achievement will not unlock if you complete the game in co-op. This must be done solo.

Note: To unlock the Sniper Elite (100G) achievement, you must be playing on 'Sniper Elite' difficulty. If you select any custom settings, you will not earn progression towards this achievement.

During this playthrough, your main focus will be completing the game on the highest difficulty, 'Sniper Elite'. If you have already played through the game on a lower difficulty, do not start a new game as this will reset all your previous progress. To play on this difficulty, select each mission from the Mission Select screen.

On this difficulty, you take more damage each time you are shot, enemies stay alert longer and take more damage, there is bullet drop when you shoot, crosswinds, lung capacity is less, and you cannot tag enemies. For more information, please refer to Sniper Elite (100G) in the guide below.

Also, during this playthrough, you will likely wrap up the cumulative achievements left over from your previous playthrough, such as Iron Lung (25G), Go the Distance (25G) and World Record (40G). You will also possibly unlock the cumulative achievements Potato Masher (40G), Gung Ho (25G), Head Honcho (25G) and Detonator (25G).

This difficulty is available from the start so if you choose to do so, you can play on this difficulty from the get go.

DLC Missions:
Rebellion thoughtfully included all four original DLCs in this release; ‘Assassinate the Fuhrer’, ‘Saint Pierre’, ‘Neudorf Outpost’ and ‘The Landwehr Canal’ (previously unavailable on consoles). To top it off, they added two achievements to each one except ‘Assassinate the Fuhrer’.

To access them from the main menu, navigate to Single Player > Challenge and select the mission you’d like to play. It is recommended that you play on ‘Cadet’ difficulty (or use Custom settings) since there are no difficulty requirements. Also, on lower difficulties, there is no bullet drop or crosswinds and you can tag enemies, making necessary long distance kills easier.

The achievements are a good mix of manageable and challenging, including a couple that are probably the most difficult achievements in the game next to Sniper Elite (100G). Each requires you to play as stealthily as possible because one wrong move and you’ll most likely have to restart the mission over again because of minimal checkpoints and no manual saves. Refer to the achievements below for more information.

You can work toward progression for any of the cumulative achievements and unlock any single action achievements while playing any of these DLC missions.

Note: You cannot play any of these DLC missions in co-op.

Bombing Run (Co-op):
There are three Bombing Run maps: 'Command Post', 'Kaiser-Friedrich Museum' and 'Kopenick Launch Site'. There is only one achievement related to this game mode, and that is to survive (complete) 10 games. Playing with a co-op partner, pick your favorite map and get to work!

While you are playing, you will likely unlock Bedpan Commando (10G) for reviving your co-op partner 10 times.

You can work toward progression for any of the cumulative achievements and unlock any single action achievements while playing this mode.

If you are having difficulty finding a partner, post in the Official XBA Friend and Co-op Finder thread.

Overwatch (Co-op):
There are five Overwatch maps: 'Graves', 'Kaiser-Friedrich Museum', 'Kreuzberg HQ', 'Opernplatz' and 'Schoneberg Streets'. There are three achievements related to this game mode; tag 50 enemies, kill 50 tagged enemies and complete all Overwatch missions. In this mode, one person is the spotter and acts as reconnaissance on the ground. Then the sniper stays back and eliminates enemies at a distance. By working together and communicating you will have no issues unlocking these achievements.

You can work toward progression for any of the cumulative achievements and unlock any single action achievements while playing this mode.

If you are having difficulty finding a partner, post in the Official XBA Friend and Co-op Finder thread.

Multiplayer
Good news! Playing competitive multiplayer is not a requirement for any of the achievements!

Mop Up:
If after playing through the campaign twice you still have a few story achievements left, load up a mission on 'Cadet' difficulty and finish them up. Some missions are better suited for certain achievements, so refer to the guide for the best mission for the job.

Conclusion:
Hopes were that with the release of this remaster, it would include gameplay improvements from the Sniper Elite III and 4 releases. Sadly, as with many other remasters, this wasn’t the case as the only upgrade to this game was apparently just graphical. They added a new Photo Mode and additional characters to play as in the campaign and multiplayer, but that's all. Still, it was pleasing to play through this game once again. Congratulations on your 100%!

Sniper Elite V2 Remastered Achievement Guide

Show completed achievements
Show secret achievements

There are 47 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Get a scoped headshot over 150m

This should be the first achievement you get and are many chances to get this in the game. Detailed below are the first two opportunities.

In the 'Prologue', your main objective is to eliminate Major-General Hans von Eisenberg. When you've progressed enough into the mission to locate him, you will see him through a window standing in a square talking with someone. At this distance, the Major-General is about 180 meters away. As you're aiming, press and hold :1rb: to slow your heart rate and steady your shot so he is an easier target. As long as you eliminate him with a headshot, the achievement will unlock.

Alternatively, at the start of Mission 1, 'Schoneberg Convoy', work your way to a long street. At the far end on top of a building is a sniper (he is to the left). Standing at the back of the street will put the sniper at around 180-190 meters. Line up a headshot and shoot, and if you hit the sniper in the head the achievement will unlock.
  • Use a trip mine to kill an enemy who is trying to assault your position

You will probably get this naturally if you are using explosives during your playthrough, but you can get this easily by playing the 'Prologue'.

During the 'Prologue', if you have the tutorials turned on, the game will tell you where to set your first trip wire. After you have eliminated the Major-General, enemies will be on high alert. Chances are that an enemy off screen will run into your trip wire and die, unlocking the achievement.

If for some reason it doesn't, you should leave a trip wire in a doorway or in an area that an enemy might run through and when they trip it, it will explode and the achievement will unlock, even if it is off screen.
  • Kill an enemy while your rifle fire is masked by a loud sound

You will probably get this naturally if you are using sound masking (curved lines in the top right corner of the screen indicating a loud noise to mask your rifle fire), but this can easily be unlocked during Mission 2, 'Mittelwerk Facility'.

At the very start of the mission, directly in front of you there will be an enemy at the top of a watch tower. Line him up and wait for the speakers to start. A sound masking icon will appear in the top right-hand corner, so when it does, shoot the soldier and this achievement will unlock.

If for some reason it doesn't, just reload the checkpoint. This is almost story related as there will be many more opportunities throughout the campaign to unlock this.
  • Destroy a tank by sniping the fuel supply

Your first opportunity to unlock this will be on Mission 1, 'Schoneberg Convoy'.

After eliminating Dr. Kreidl from your elevated position then returning to ground level to kill the few remaining enemies (for the Get Off the Ground (10G) achievement), a cutscene will show a tank appear on the street. As it drives up it will show you where the fuel caps are located on the back of the tank. What you will need to do is shoot the fuel cap to cause the tank to explode. It can be very annoying due to it being so small, just take your time and it will unlock.

Note: If you are attempting to unlock Get Off the Ground (10G) at this point, as you are eliminating the enemies on the ground the tank will show up. Since it will likely be around the corner and will not advance to your position, you can ignore it for the time being. Once that achievement unlocks, head back to an elevated position (the same position you eliminated Dr. Kreidl from preferably) and shoot the fuel cap on the tank.
  • Covertly kill 25 unaware enemies

Unaware enemy kills are stealth kills performed by sneaking up behind an enemy and shooting them in the head with your silenced pistol/knifing them or kills done while masked by noise. An easy way to boost this is to start Mission 1, 'Schoneberg Convoy', and kill the enemy at the start by stealth killing him from behind with :1a: and restarting checkpoint. Repeat until the achievement unlocks.

If you don't want to keep reloading checkpoints, this achievement will most likely unlock naturally over the course of your campaign playthrough if you’re playing stealthily.

To see how many you have done, from the main menu, navigate to Extras then Career Stats. Press :1rb: to highlight 'Single Player' then look for 'Unaware Enemies Killed'.
  • Snipe an enemy through his eye

You should naturally get this while you are going for headshots for Head Honcho (25G). It can be obtained from being shot in the head as long as it goes through the eye socket. You will see the eye explode to confirm you have gotten an eye shot. You can even get this by shooting an enemy that is asleep in a chair or resting against a wall.
  • Get a cumulative sniped kill distance of a marathon

Note: Only scoped kills count towards this achievement.

Most kills report the distance you made the shot from (even if it doesn't report the distance on screen it will still increase). Each time you get a sniper kill that distance will accumulate. You need a kill distance of 42,195 meters (26.2 miles) total for this achievement to unlock. You will easily get over the course of your two playthroughs and co-op runs.

To see how many you have done, from the main menu, navigate to Extras then Career Stats. Press :1rb: to highlight 'Single Player' then look for 'Total Shot Distance'.
  • Hold your breath for a cumulative time of half an hour

To hold your breath, press :1rb: while you are aiming through your rifle scope. This will slow your heart rate and steady your aim along with zooming in a bit. This will unlock over the course of your two playthroughs but if for some reason it doesn't, find yourself a nice hiding spot and keep holding your breath until the achievement unlocks.

If you are prone (laying down) as you do this, your breath will regenerate faster.

This cumulative stat is not tracked in Career Stats but your progress is shown at the bottom of the screen in increments every so often during the game.
  • Kill 100 enemies with explosives

    (1)
Kills with grenades, mines and dynamite all count for this achievement. Hitting a grenade on an enemy webbing also counts, and any enemy eliminated by the ensuing explosion counts as well. This should unlock naturally over the course of your campaign playthroughs if you use your explosives wisely.

During Mission 3, 'Kaiser-Friedrich Museum', after you acquire the Mosin Nagant rifle, exit the building and down the street to the right there will be four enemies standing there. One of them as a grenade on his belt. Shooting it will make it explode, killing all four enemies. You can then reload the checkpoint and repeat as necessary. If you haven’t unlocked it yet, using this method will also unlock Cooking Off (10G) as the distance is roughly 110 meters.

Note: Destroying vehicles with enemies in them does not count towards this achievement.

To see how many you have done, from the main menu, navigate to Extras then Career Stats. Press :1rb: to highlight 'Single Player' then look for 'Explosive Kills'.

Thanks to 360GameTV for the video:
  • Get 506 cumulative sniper kills

Note: Only scoped kills count towards this achievement.

This number is in reference to Simo Hayha, a Finnish sniper during World War II who accumulated 506 confirmed kills against the Red Army over the course of his military career. A truly remarkable accomplishment.

This is a cumulative achievement and every kill you get with your sniper rifle counts towards this, regardless of distance. This includes sniper kills during the campaign or any co-op or online modes.

If you have not unlocked this by the time you’ve completed your campaign playthroughs, you can select Mission 1, 'Schoneberg Convoy', on 'Cadet' and keep running through it. Playing smartly, you can get about 30 kills in 10 minutes each time you play it, and if you need to farm kills at this point, chances are you aren’t that far away from 506.

To see how many you have done, from the main menu, navigate to Extras then Career Stats. Press :1rb: to highlight 'Single Player' then look for 'Scoped Kills'.
  • Snipe 100 moving targets

Note: Only scoped kills count towards this achievement.

This is a cumulative achievement that should unlock naturally over the course of all game modes. Every time you kill a moving target it will count toward this. A moving target is an enemy that is running in any direction, usually looking for cover. Note that they have to be running and not walking a patrol or moving while shooting at you.

To see how many you have done, from the main menu, navigate to Extras then Career Stats. Press :1rb: to highlight 'Single Player' then look for 'Scoped Moving Target Kills'.
  • Get 100 sniped headshots

This is a cumulative achievement that should unlock naturally over the course of all game modes. Just aim for the enemy's heads while scoped and you will eventually get this achievement.

To see how many you have done, from the main menu, navigate to Extras then Career Stats. Press :1rb: to highlight 'Single Player' then look for 'Scoped Headshots'.
  • Find and snipe all the hidden bottles throughout the game

    (1)
There are a total of 37 bottles hidden throughout the 11 missions of the main campaign. They are often in out of the way locations and at a distance not normally accessible. Some are also very hard to see, whether it is the distance or that they blend in with the environment.

To unlock this achievement, you need to snipe all 37 bottles. There is a counter on screen which increases each time you shoot one. Here’s how many bottles are in each mission:

    • 'Prologue' - 1
    • Mission 1, 'Schoneberg Convoy' - 2
    • Mission 2, 'Mittelwerk Facility' - 5
    • Mission 3, 'Kaiser-Friedrich Museum' - 4
    • Mission 4, 'Opernplatz' - 3
    • Mission 5, 'St. Olibartus Church' - 4
    • Mission 6, 'Tiergarten Flak Tower' - 3
    • Mission 7, 'Karlshorst Command Post' - 5
    • Mission 8, 'Kreuzberg HQ' - 4
    • Mission 9, 'Kopenick Launch Site' - 3
    • Mission 10, 'Brandenburg Gate' - 3
To see how many you have done, from the main menu, navigate to Extras then Career Stats. Press :1rb: to highlight 'Single Player' then look for 'Total Bottles Destroyed'. You can also check this by highlighting each mission on the Mission Select screen.

Sniper Elite V2 Remastered All Gold Bars / Hidden Bottles Collectibles Locations thread by 360GameTV

Thanks to 360GameTV for the video:
  • Get a sniped ricochet headshot

This achievement is based more on luck than anything, but it still relatively easy to obtain. The requirement of this achievement is to bounce a bullet off of a wall, floor, or any object and strike an enemy in the head. Chances are that you might get this through natural progression but here are a couple of opportunities.

Your first opportunity is in the 'Prologue' when you are tasked with eliminating Major-General Hans von Eisenberg. You will see him speaking with his Russian contact in a square. Line up your sights so the horizontal line of the scope is level with the heads of the two enemies. Instead of shooting the Major-General in the head, aim at the column to the right and shoot. If you hit the right location, the bullet will ricochet off the column and hit the Russian contact in the head. If it does not, reload the checkpoint and try again.

Thanks to 360GameTV for the video:

Another opportunity is in Mission 8, 'Karlshorst Command Post'. Just after you destroy the tank and kill the enemies in front of the building, enter the building and walk halfway down a ramp. Make sure you are on the right-hand side. Aim down the hallway and you will see a couple of enemies run into your sights. Aim at the floor in front of them and keep shooting until a bullet ricochets off the floor and hits one of them in the head. If this does not happen by the time all the enemies are dead, reload the checkpoint and try again.

Thanks to PowerPyx for the video:
  • Snipe 2 people with one shot

    (1)
Your first opportunity to unlock this is in Mission 1, 'Schoneberg Convoy'. At the very start of the mission, silently take out the unaware enemy against the post. Then walk around the truck and you will see two enemies walking in the street. Position yourself near the back of the truck with the motorcycles directly in line with one of the enemies. The other enemy will join the first one giving you an almost perfect line of sight to take them both out. You may have to adjust your position slightly but once you see them lined up in your scope, shoot the closest one in the head and the bullet should travel through and hit the second one. If it does not, just reload the checkpoint and try again.
  • Snipe a grenade on an enemy's webbing from 100m

This can be obtained at many opportunities throughout the campaign, but here are a couple of specific locations.

During Mission 1, 'Schoneberg Convoy', after you clear the first street and head through a building to come to another long street, there will be 5-6 enemies walking around (and an elevated sniper at the end of the street). One or more of them have a grenade on their belt, so observe them to find out which one does. Once you have determined who has one, aim at the enemy’s belt, zoom in and press :1rb: to focus your shot. If you hit the grenade and are at least 100 meters away, the achievement will unlock.

During Mission 4, 'Kaiser-Friedrich Museum', after you acquire the Mosin Nagant rifle, exit the building and down the street to the right there will be four enemies standing there. One of them as a grenade on his belt. Shooting it will make it explode, killing all four enemies and will unlock the achievement since the distance is roughly 110 meters. Using this method will also earn progress towards Potato Masher (40G).
  • Complete a mission with 100% accuracy, using only rifles

You need to use your rifle exclusively to get this achievement. You cannot unlock this in the 'Prologue' if you have the tutorials turned on as at one point it tells you to use your silenced pistol to take out an enemy.

After you have finished the 'Prologue', go back to the main menu to turn off the tutorials by navigating to Options > Game > Tutorials (on/off). Then go back to the main menu and select Single Player > Mission Select > Prologue. Select 'Cadet' difficulty for ease and start the mission. It will start right when you are to shoot the Major-General.

If you are careful, you should only be shooting 3-4 enemies. Take your time, make sure that you have a clear shot at them and kill them with the first shot. If you follow the video in Hide and Hope (10G), you really should have no issues unlocking this and that achievement at the same time.

Note: Reloading checkpoints does not void this achievement.
  • Complete a mission without being shot

Follow the method outlined in Make Every Bullet Count (25G) by playing the 'Prologue' on 'Cadet' with the tutorials turned off. The A.I is dumb enough in this game that if you follow the video below, they shouldn't notice you at all when you are sneaking across the street.

Note that when you are crawling through the hole and it starts to crumble around you, although you might get injured, it does not void the achievement as you have not been shot.

Note: Reloading checkpoints does not void this achievement.

Thanks to 360GameTV for the video:
  • Find and retrieve all the stolen gold bars

There are a total of 100 gold bars hidden throughout the 10 missions of the main campaign, 10 in each mission (there are none in the 'Prologue'). They are often in out of the way locations, behind objects and around corners you wouldn't normally travel to. Some are also very hard to see if they are positioned within rubble.

To unlock this achievement, you need to locate and collect all 100 gold bars by walking over them. There is a counter on screen which increases each time you collect one.

To see how many you have done, from the main menu, navigate to Extras then Career Stats. Press :1rb: to highlight 'Single Player' then look for 'Gold Bars Found'. You can also check this by highlighting each mission on the Mission Select screen.

Sniper Elite V2 Remastered All Gold Bars / Hidden Bottles Collectibles Locations thread by 360GameTV

Thanks to 360GameTV for the video:
  • Escape the German assault

This is story related and cannot be missed. This can be earned on any difficulty.

This achievement unlocks for completing the introductory mission, 'Prologue'.
  • Stop the convoy

This is story related and cannot be missed. This can be earned on any difficulty.

Towards the end of Mission 1, 'Schoneberg Convoy', you will need to set two explosives in strategic positions to prepare for the oncoming convoy. One explosive is set on the front of a broken-down truck. When the convoy arrives, allow it to continue down the street. Aim at the explosive on the truck and when the first vehicle is next to it, shoot the explosive. This will destroy the lead vehicle and unlock the achievement.

Note: Destroying this lead vehicle will not void the Get Off the Ground (10G) achievement.
  • Destroy the V2 Facility and escape to safety

This is story related and cannot be missed. This can be earned on any difficulty.

This achievement unlocks for completing Mission 2, 'Mittelwerk Facility'.
  • Hold off the Russian advance

This is story related and cannot be missed. This can be earned on any difficulty.

This achievement unlocks for completing Mission 3, 'Kaiser-Friedrich Museum'.
  • Stop the execution

This is story related and cannot be missed. This can be earned on any difficulty.

During Mission 4, 'Opernplatz', your objective will be to stop the execution of Dr. Efram Schweiger, a German scientist who is reluctantly working on the V2 project. Work your way into the library to the objective marker and a short cutscene will play showing a German officer aiming his pistol at Schweiger. You need to shoot the officer and the two troops flanking him. Once all three are dead, the achievement will unlock.
  • Collect intel from the church and make it out alive

This is story related and cannot be missed. This can be earned on any difficulty.

This achievement unlocks for completing Mission 5, 'St. Olibartus Church'.
  • Eliminate Müller

This is story related and cannot be missed. This can be earned on any difficulty.

Towards the end of Mission 6, 'Tiergarten Flak Tower', after finding the winch room in the flak tower, walk over to the objective marker and a short cutscene will play. Colonel Muller is located at the top of his command tower a good distance from the building you're in. He is identified by wearing a black officer's coat and no hat.

Since there won't be an objective marker on him, use your binoculars to locate him. If you're playing on a lower difficulty, tag him to mark his position then shoot him and the achievement will unlock.

Note: At the distance you need to shoot him, there might be considerable bullet drop, even on lower difficulties. Adjust your aim appropriately if needed.
  • Uncover Wolff's plan

This is story related and cannot be missed. This can be earned on any difficulty.

During Mission 7, 'Karlshorst Command Post', after fighting your way into the command post, work your way down the hallway, carefully eliminating any enemy you come across. At the end of the hallway, turn right and there will be an officer who is carrying Wolff’s plans. Kill him and search his body to unlock the achievement.
  • Discover the location of the V2 launch site

This is story related and cannot be missed. This can be earned on any difficulty.

Towards the end of Mission 8, 'Kreuzberg HQ', your objective is to find Dr. Wolff’s office and locate any information about the V2 launch site. In the square surrounded by buildings, make your way to the first objective marker. You will need to eliminate a good number of enemies on your way there, but luckily there is sound masking to muffle the sound of you shooting.

Upon finding Wolff's office, you learn that the information you seek is in the Government Ministry building on the other side of the square. Make your way to the next objective (again, eliminating enemies along the way). Enter the building and climb the stairs to the objective marker. When you reach it, a cutscene will play showing that the information is being burned in the fireplace. You save it just in time to learn the location of the launch site, thus unlocking this achievement.
  • Destroy the V2 rocket

This is story related and cannot be missed. This can be earned on any difficulty.

This achievement unlocks for completing Mission 9, 'Kopenick Launch Site'.
  • Prevent Wolff from escaping

This is story related and cannot be missed. This can be earned on any difficulty.

At the end of Mission 10, 'Brandenburg Gate', as you start your climb up the tower, a short cutscene will play showing Dr. Wolff getting into his vehicle. Continue climbing to the top and once you reach the roof, you will see the objective marker driving away. Take position, aim and shoot Wolff, causing his vehicle to flip over.
  • Complete all missions on Sniper Elite difficulty

Note: Just like the Xbox 360 version, this achievement will not unlock if you complete the game in co-op. This must be done solo.

To unlock this achievement, you need to complete the game on 'Sniper Elite' difficulty. You cannot use any custom settings.

'Sniper Elite' is the highest difficulty in the game. There are the same number of enemies and they follow the same patterns as on lower difficulties, but they hit harder and take more damage. Also on this difficulty, you cannot tag enemies, and there is considerable bullet drop and crosswinds when aiming through the scope. You need to adjust your vertical and horizontal aiming in order to hit your target.

It is recommended that you play more strategically on this difficulty. The checkpoints are the same as on lower difficulties, but if you do not play wisely, you will die a lot more than necessary.

Here are a few tips to help you while playing on ‘Sniper Elite’ difficulty:

    • Scouting is very helpful while playing on ‘Sniper Elite’ difficulty. To use your binoculars press in :1rs: and use :1up: and :1down: to zoom in and out. Before attacking or walking into an area, scout it out for enemies or to plan your attack/route; it will make things a lot easier for you rather than just guessing where to go.
    • Utilize sound masking whenever possible.
    • Rocks will really come in handy on this playthrough. When faced with a group of enemies, use rocks to guide them away giving you the opportunity to advance, even to split up a group of enemies to take them out one by one.
    • Use cover ALL THE TIME. Enemies will have their eye on you this playthrough and they rarely miss a shot. Just wait until you think you're safe then pop your head up and take out one enemy at a time.
    • Although ammo caches are spread across each level, they do not restock mines or grenades. Make sure you are looting dead bodies as often as possible for those life-saving tools.
    • Set traps when sitting in an open area or a building that the enemy can access. It helps a lot because if you get an enemy behind you while you are concentrating on sniping, without traps set, they will without a doubt kill you.
    • Just take your time; rushing will not help you on this difficulty. Take as much time as you need and be as stealthy as possible. Your silenced pistol will come in handy in tight spots; try for the headshot because it takes a bit to ready your gun between shots. When faced with multiple enemies, use your machine gun.
For those of you that would rather not play the entire game on Sniper Elite difficulty, there is an exploit that allows you to play most of a mission on a lower difficulty then the final checkpoint on Sniper Elite. Refer to THIS POST for the process.
  • Kill everyone in the convoy from ground level, except for Kreidl

During Mission 1, 'Schoneberg Convoy', you will come to a street where you will need to stop a convoy by shooting the explosives you've planted (shooting the explosives and destroying the leading armored car will not void this achievement). By doing this, you should unlock Novice Sniper (10G) if you haven’t done so already.

After shooting the explosives, Dr. Kreidl will exit a transport truck (the objective marker will be on him). At this point, shoot Kreidl ONLY; do NOT shoot any other enemy. After sniping him, follow the objective markers down to the street, and instead of recovering his documents, begin to take out the remaining enemies from the ground. After about 4-5 kills, there will be a short cutscene where a tank will show up. For the time being, ignore it and continue eliminating everyone until the achievement unlocks.

Note: More troops will show up when the tank does, but it is not required to kill them for this achievement. Stick to the street where the convoy has been stopped (around the corner from the tank) and just kill everyone you see.

  • Wipe out the Elite Russian Sniper Team from the rooftops

Near the end of Mission 8, 'Kreuzberg HQ', you will reach a building where you find some documents. There will be a quick cutscene where you are getting sniped. On the rooftops of the buildings surrounding the square will be 8 snipers. You need to kill each one of them before exfiltrating and ending the mission.

To help you identify where they are, wait for the glint of their scope and tag them with your binoculars. If playing on 'Cadet' you might get injured but not enough for it to be fatal. Take out all 8 snipers and the achievement is yours.

  • Send the tank into the river by blowing up the bridge

During Mission 3, 'Kaiser-Friedrich Museum', you will have to place two explosives on the supports of a bridge. Once that is done, follow the objective marker to set up at a vantage point facing the bridge. Eventually you will see a few enemies and three tanks attempt to cross the bridge. Don't let them cross! Wait until the first tank reaches the bomb then snipe it to unlock this achievement. If you miss or don’t unlock the achievement, reload the checkpoint.

  • Make it through the tower to the winch room without being spotted

    (1)
During Mission 6, 'Tiergarten Flak Tower', you will receive an objective to find a path to the roof of the flak tower. Upon entering the tower, you cannot be spotted at all. Following the video below, stay crouched most of the time and only eliminate enemies in your path.

Once you reach the roof, there will be sound masking but still be careful as there are guards patrolling. Work your way across the roof and up and down stairs until you reach the winch room. After a short cutscene, the achievement will unlock.

Guards can become aware if anything is amiss (like finding a body), but if you are spotted at any time, just reload the checkpoint.

  • As a spotter in Overwatch, tag 50 enemies

    *Online Co-op*

This must be done in co-op, either with a friend or a random player. Coordinating with a friend is more beneficial because you are likely to work better together than with a random.

For this achievement, you need to pick the role of the spotter (binoculars icon). In this role, you will be working from the ground, tagging enemies and completing map objectives.

Using your binoculars from a covered position, press :1rt: to tag enemies so the sniper can eliminate them. Tagging 50 enemies will unlock this achievement. This is cumulative; it does not have to be done in one game.

Note: Since there are five maps to complete for the Can Do! (50G) achievement, you will likely get this through progression.

If you are having difficulty finding a partner, post in the Official XBA Friend and Co-op Finder thread.
  • As a sniper in Overwatch, snipe 50 enemies tagged by your partner

    *Online Co-op*

This must be done in co-op, either with a friend or a random player. Coordinating with a friend is more beneficial because you are likely to work better together than with a random.

For this achievement, you need to pick the role of the sniper (crosshairs icon). In this role, you will be in an elevated position providing cover to the spotter as they complete the map objectives.

As the spotter tags enemies, it is your job to eliminate them so the spotter stays safe. Sniping 50 tagged enemies will unlock this achievement. This is cumulative; it does not have to be done in one game.

Note: Since there are five maps to complete for the Can Do! (50G) achievement, you will likely get this through progression.

If you are having difficulty finding a partner, post in the Official XBA Friend and Co-op Finder thread.
  • Resuscitate your partner 10 times in Cooperative mode

    *Online Co-op*

While playing co-op in either the campaign or ‘Bombing Run’ and a teammate gets injured enough, they go into a downed state. When that happens, crouch next to your teammate and hold :1a: until they are resuscitated. Do this 10 times and the achievement will unlock.

There are a few ways to unlock this:

    1. Play naturally.
    2. Find a location in a campaign level or ‘Bombing Run’ where there are enemies and keep getting downed.
    3. Find a small fire and stand in it to take damage. Right at the beginning of Mission 1, ‘Schoneberg Convoy’, there are two small fires located in the area where you spawn. First kill the enemy patrolling that area then start resuscitating!
If you are having difficulty finding a partner, post in the Official XBA Friend and Co-op Finder thread.
  • Survive 10 games of Bombing Run

    *Online Co-op*

To unlock this achievement, you must complete 10 games of 'Bombing Run' with a co-op partner. There are three maps to choose from ('Command Post', 'Kaiser-Friedrich Museum' and 'Kopenick Launch Site'), so experiment with them to see which one is easiest for you.

In this game mode, you must run around the map collecting parts for your vehicle in order to escape. The parts are identified on the map by a letter. It’s best if you work together; one player collects the part while the other provides cover. Once both players have collected a part, go back to the vehicle and repair it. Once the vehicle is totally repaired, a cutscene will play with you driving away. Successfully complete 10 to unlock the achievement.

Note: If both players die, you fail the mission and must start over.

Note II: If you place the final part and then get downed, you will not get credit for the achievement.

If you are having difficulty finding a partner, post in the Official XBA Friend and Co-op Finder thread.

Author’s Note: I personally found 'Kopenick Launch Site' the quickest. It has the fewest parts needed, they are closer together and the map is the smallest. When you spawn, we found it best to go for parts D and E first. After dropping them off, we would collect A then drop it off. At this point, the 5:00 timer started for us and more enemies spawned. We would kill as many as we could on our way to B. After collecting B, we’d then head into the church to collect C. Finally we’d run back to the vehicle to drop off the parts to end the level. We worked our time down from about 8:00 to a little over 5:00 when we finally unlocked the achievement.

  • Career total of 50 shots on explosives

This is a cumulative achievement that should unlock naturally over the course of all game modes. Explosives that count are grenades on an enemy's belt, mines, cannon shells, barrels, fuel tanks; anything that explodes. All you need to do is shoot a total of 50 explosives.

This should naturally unlock during your campaign playthroughs but if it doesn't, there are many ways to farm this. One is to keep reloading checkpoints where there is an explosive nearby. Another is to set all of your mines and dynamite out on the ground and shoot each one individually (making sure that they’re not close enough where they will set off a chain reaction) then reload the checkpoint and repeat. Finally, there is a checkpoint as the tank appears in Mission 1, 'Schoneberg Convoy'. If you are in an elevated position, you can shoot the fuel cap to destroy the tank then keep reloading the checkpoint.

This cumulative stat is not tracked in Career Stats.
  • Complete all Overwatch missions in Cooperative mode

    *Online Co-op*

This must be done in co-op, either with a friend or a random player. Coordinating with a friend is more beneficial because you are likely to work better together than with a random.

There are five Overwatch missions to complete: 'Graves', 'Kaiser-Friedrich Museum', 'Kreuzberg HQ', 'Opernplatz' and 'Schoneberg Streets'. Completing all five in either role (sniper or spotter) and on any difficulty will unlock the achievement.

If you are having difficulty finding a partner, post in the Official XBA Friend and Co-op Finder thread.
  • Complete Neudorf Outpost without alerting any AI

Note: It is possible to unlock this achievement and Smoking Kills (10G) in the same playthrough.

To play this mission: Single Player > Challenge > Neudorf Outpost. Note that you cannot play this mission in co-op. It is recommended that you select the Welrod in your loadout before attempting this achievement.

You can change the difficulty to Custom and it will not void the achievement since this mission is not considered a part of the main campaign. Recommended settings are:

    • Difficulty: Custom
    • Enemy Skill: Rookie
    • Ballistic Realism: Simple
    • Tactical Assistance: Full
This and Secret Service (25G) are probably the two most difficult achievements in the game aside from Sniper Elite (100G) because of the uncertainty of enemy placement, the need to be 100% stealthy and the lack of/sparsity of checkpoints. You need to complete the mission completely undetected but do not have to kill every enemy, although making sure live ones are tagged is suggested so you can always keep track of them.

Enemy placement is somewhat randomized, but are generally in the same locations each time. Depending on your speed and path throughout the mission, they might not be in the same location each time. It is recommended that you keep a mental note of how many you’ve killed in each section.

Here is an enemy breakdown for each section. This is what I personally encountered, so be very careful as there may be more!

    • Upper Section - 6-8 enemies (1 in sniper nest [smoking], 1-2 in bunkers [at least one smoking], 4+ on patrol [one near starting point [smoking], one walking in front of bunkers, one near sniper tower, one past bunkers])
    • Lower Section - 7-9 enemies (1 at the top of the big structure dividing the sections, 1 in the northern-most sniper nest [smoking], 1 walking the western wall [smoking], 1 outside the small center building [smoking], 1 patrolling near the small center buildings [smoking], 1 patrolling near the center sniper nest, 1 outside the southern-most larger building [smoking], 2-3 inside the structure dividing the sections [you do not need to go in there]
Unless you are close enough to an enemy to use your Welrod, to stay undetected, you need to wait for sound masking before firing your primary weapon (it is not recommended you use your secondary weapon at all). Sound masking occurs approximately every 10 seconds so you will need to be patient. This is not a mission you do quickly.

Enemies can spot bodies, but that’s about it. If they do, they will be more aggressive in their search and thus more likely to detect you. If they see or detect you in any way, including hearing footsteps or throwing rocks, this voids the achievement (unless you’ve reached one of the two checkpoints in the mission). It is recommended that you hide bodies whenever you have the opportunity, especially in the lower section before you obtain the C-4.

As mentioned, there are only two checkpoints in this mission; when you pick up the C-4 and after you plant the third explosive, both in the lower section. If you are detected at any time after reaching either checkpoint, simply reload them. If you haven’t reached a checkpoint yet and are detected, you need to restart the entire mission.

Once you obtain the C-4, a truck with 5-6 enemies will drive up from along the western edge of the map and park just inside the west gate in the lower section. If you did not hide bodies as mentioned above, the truck enemies will find them and search. But, you do have time to plant the three explosives and leave the section before they park, so do that as quickly as possible. Once you plant the third explosive, you will trigger another checkpoint and two trucks with 6-7 enemies will appear at your starting point. As you make your way closer to the exit, be careful and watch them split up before taking them out. Looking at the starting point, you only have to worry about 3-4 enemies from the leftmost truck as that is the one blocking your exit. Take it slow and you shouldn’t have too many issues.

For further reference on this achievement, there was a Steam guide written by the Winter Warlock in 2016 based on the original release of this DLC in 2012. It details a good amount of information about this mission and enemy placement. You can find the guide HERE.

  • Kill 6 smoking soldiers on Neudorf Outpost

Note: It is possible to unlock this achievement and Silence is Golden (10G) in the same playthrough.

To unlock this achievement, you need to be completely undetected because if you disrupt any enemy’s routine, they might not be smoking when they should. Also, enemy placement is somewhat randomized, especially in the upper section, so if an enemy who should be smoking isn’t (as shown in the video), restart the mission.

In order for a kill to count, they must be actively smoking. There are at 2-3 smoking enemies in the upper section (you can skip #2 in the image below if you want as they are not always there) and at least four in the lower section. When you’ve killed them in the upper section, it is suggested that you climb the sniper nest that overlooks the lower section (#3) and from there kill the remaining smoking enemies. You have a wide field of vision from this nest and can easily spot and snipe the rest of them with sound masking. Tag enemies as you find them to keep track of them. Once you have killed six smoking enemies, the achievement will unlock.

Note: It is possible that you may locate more than six smoking enemies, but the requirement is to kill just six. Thus, you may kill someone who is not shown in the image or video below.

  • Allow all 3 commanders to enter the command centre in The Landwehr Canal, then blow the doors

Note: It is possible to unlock this achievement and Watchmen (10G) in the same playthrough.

To play this mission: Single Player > Challenge > The Landwehr Canal.

    • Ballistic Realism: Simple
    • Tactical Assistance: Full
Once you’ve eliminated the five snipers and have unlocked Watchmen (10G), head for the circular building with the red flags and dome across the courtyard on the eastern side of the map. Situate yourself on the balcony overlooking the courtyard and wait for the countdown timer to reach zero.

When the three commanders show up, they will (slowly) enter the building on the ground level. Follow their yellow icons, and when all three are below where you're waiting, walk through the doorway behind you and drop down through the broken floor. There will be a door with a satchel charge icon on it. Hold :1a: to place the charge and back up. When the door blows, the achievement will unlock.

Refer to Watchmen (10G) for a video showing how to unlock this.
  • Eliminate all 5 Snipers watching the meeting point on The Landwehr Canal without them spotting you

Note: It is possible to unlock this achievement and You were only supposed to... (20G) in the same playthrough.

To play this mission: Single Player > Challenge > The Landwehr Canal. Note that you cannot play this mission in co-op. It is recommended that you select the Welrod in your loadout before attempting this achievement.

You can change the difficulty to Custom and it will not void the achievement since this mission is not considered a part of the main campaign. Recommended settings are:

    • Difficulty: Custom
    • Enemy Skill: Rookie
    • Ballistic Realism: Simple
    • Tactical Assistance: Full
There are five snipers overlooking the command center in this mission. You need 100% stealth in order to eliminate them, so you can only shoot them when the sound is masked. Also, each sniper should be killed with one shot only. If one shot each doesn’t kill them, they will be alerted and thus void the achievement.

From your start point, work around to the balcony, eliminating four enemies with the Welrod. Then from the balcony, you can take out the first two snipers positioned at a distance across the courtyard (tag them to make this easier). Next, drop down and head east across the area between the buildings, stealthily taking out two enemies along your way.

Enter the building in front of you (you will be on the second floor) and make your way counterclockwise around to the opposite side (there will be a guard patrolling and one sitting in a chair so silently eliminate them). On the eastern side of the building in the southeast corner is the third sniper in the prone position. Approach him while crouching and shoot him with the Welrod. Next, from his position overlooking the courtyard, the fourth sniper is in a building to the right of the command center on the second floor. Tag him first before shooting him.

The fifth sniper is in the building directly south of your current location, again in the southeast corner and again on the second floor. Drop down from the building you’re in and make your way to the next building. Enter it, crouch and to the immediate right is a wooden ramp. Climb up it and turn south and you will see the final sniper to take out.

It helps if you hold :1rb: to focus time on the long distance shots as it zooms in slowly, making your shots more accurate.

Note: If for any reason a sniper is not in the position described or in the image/video below, they have somehow been alerted and you must restart the mission.

  • Kill all the guards in Saint Pierre before getting to the church without being detected

Note: It is recommended that you do not attempt this and Shoot the Alps (20G) in the same playthrough as you need the distance kills for that achievement.

To play this mission: Single Player > Challenge > Saint Pierre. Note that you cannot play this mission in co-op. It is highly recommended that you select the Welrod in your loadout as it is a necessity for earning this achievement.

You can change the difficulty to Custom and it will not void the achievement since this mission is not considered a part of the main campaign. Recommended settings are:

    • Difficulty: Custom
    • Enemy Skill: Rookie
    • Ballistic Realism: Simple
    • Tactical Assistance: Full
This and Silence is Golden (10G) are probably the two most difficult achievements in the game aside from Sniper Elite (100G) because of the uncertainty of enemy placement, the need to be 100% stealthy and the lack of/sparsity of checkpoints. Plus, the enemies in this mission have amazing sight and can see you from a great distance and through narrow gaps.

There are 13 enemies to kill while staying completely undetected. Since there is no sound masking in the mission, you will need to kill each enemy up close and personal with your Welrod. Enemies can spot bodies and you can lure them by throwing rocks, but that’s about it. It is not necessary to hide bodies as this can actually be used to your advantage to draw enemy’s attention away from you. If you are seen or detected other than in the two aforementioned ways, it voids the achievement.

It is suggested that you follow one or both videos below for enemy placement since you probably will be detected without knowing where the enemies are. You will most likely be crouching for a better part of this achievement so walking will be slow but silently. Also, make sure you are searching bodies to replenish your ammo; there is a weapons cache in the north part of the village (highlighted by a yellow objective marker), but it would be a hassle to keep returning to it throughout the mission. Just be patient and take it slow because if you’re too quick, you’re likely to get careless and will have to restart the mission.

When there is one enemy left, it is supposed to be highlighted with a yellow objective marker, indicating it is the last enemy, but sometimes the game glitches out and doesn’t mark them. Regardless, once you kill them, provided you stayed undetected throughout, the achievement will unlock.

For further reference on this achievement, there was a Steam guide written by *Galiana Kruger* in 2017. It details a good amount of information about this achievement and enemy placement. You can find the guide HERE.

  • Get a total shot distance of over 4,000 meters in Saint Pierre

Note: It is recommended that you do not attempt this and Secret Service (25G) in the same playthrough since you need to kill enemies silently and up close for that achievement.

To play this mission: Single Player > Challenge > Saint Pierre. Note that you cannot play this mission in co-op.

You can change the difficulty to Custom and it will not void the achievement since this mission is not considered a part of the main campaign. Recommended settings are:

    • Difficulty: Custom
    • Enemy Skill: Rookie
    • Ballistic Realism: Simple
    • Tactical Assistance: Full
Note: Make sure you are killing enemies at a distance. There might be a some here and there that you will kill under 100 meters, but the majority of kills should be 120-160 meters, if not more. It is also suggested that you get headshots as often as possible. The achievement doesn’t unlock until the mission is over and you are on the tally screen. Unfortunately, you will not know if you’ve achieved the required distance until the mission ends or if you are keeping track of the distance yourself, although a pop-up tracker appears on screen at certain intervals as notification.

From your starting point, move forward until there is an opening on your right. Follow this road around the bend and make your way along the continuing road (or close to the buildings that run parallel to the road), being careful not to be seen. It is recommended that you mark enemies as you go along so you know where they are when you start killing them. Your destination will be the church in the southeast corner of the village. From there, you will have a vantage of a good portion of the map, but not all of it.

Using this elevated position, continue marking your targets (don’t forget about the one sleeping in an attic at the far end of the map as shown in the first video at 2:10) then when you’re ready, begin sniping enemies one by one, trying to kill them when they are farthest from your position. Continue marking your targets in case you think that they are too close (so you can get some distance from them) or have a tendency to seek cover. At some point, you may have to reposition to another vantage point at the other end of the map (possibly where that sleeping enemy was) or even at ground level in order to kill the last few enemies. Once you have killed all 13 enemies patrolling the village, you objective will be to use the radio in the church to lure General Rodebrecht and his soldiers into the village. Your distance for this first wave should be roughly 1200-1500 meters.

The next wave of enemies will arrive from the north. This is where you will rack up most of your distance kills. There will be approximately 20 enemies including the General. Once you pick up the General’s service book, about 5 more enemies will appear near your exit point as well as an armored vehicle.

Taking position once again in the church, your location will be unknown to the General upon arriving so use this time to mark as many as possible before they start patrolling throughout the village. When you’re ready, begin sniping once again. Take your time to make sure you are getting the longest distance possible. You should be able to pick off most of the enemies from your perch, but may have to reposition to kill the last few. When most if not all the enemies are dead, retrieve the General’s book.

When you pick up the book, the final objective marker will appear in the southeast part of the village. If you look at the map, almost directly north of the church you will see a vantage point in a small corner building. Positioning here will give you a line of sight down the street to most if not all the remaining enemies, so make your way there if you desire, but be careful as the armored vehicle parks in the vicinity.

When you’ve killed the remaining enemies and destroyed the armored vehicle (you get distance for that, too), proceed to the objective marker and complete the mission. If you managed to kill enemies to attain the required distance, the achievement will unlock.
