Introduction:
The world of SyFy has finally been realized on the Xbox One with the SyFy app! The big caveat to this app is that a TV service provider is required to watch all content on the app. This means you will not be able to gain all of the achievements, or the completion without some sort of service provider. In addition to this requirement, there is no fast-forward trick that will help you skip the content meaning you must watch all 1,000 minutes of content to finish the app, or at least let the app run. But let's not waste any more time jabbing around the fact, let's get into completing this app.

Abbreviated Walkthrough:
With the introduction in mind, we must link our service to our Xbox One. Launch the app for the first time to unlock "Welcome To The Show." Now press and scroll down to the service provider option. It will give you a link (https://www.syfy.com/activate) and a randomly generated code that you must enter into the link. You will then choose your service provider, log in with your credentials, and it will link your Xbox One unlocking "Logged Into Provider." Now we move into TV watching.

Once you get to the TV shows menu scroll to the 'About' section and choose the option to pin show to home in order to unlock "Playing Favorites." Now we will watch a clip from this TV show (Defiance for example). Once you finish this clip, find another show and watch a second clip, and repeat for a third show to unlock "Seen A Thing Or Two." At this point you still need 17 more clips, and need to watch a clip or episode for a second time. Take any of the three clips you previously watched, and simply watch it again to unlock "Repeat Viewer." Watch this clip 16 more times to finish off the 20 clips and unlock "Just Getting Warmed Up." And with this part done we shift to episodes to finish it up.

You have two main options, watch the episodes yourself or put snap the app and do something else why the episodes run. After watching your first episode you unlock "Hitting Your Stride," and after the 15th you pop "Voracious Viewer." This should leave you fairly close to hitting 1,000 minutes and the "Time Flies" achievement. If you are looking for good content to watch may I suggest Dominion and Defiance otherwise I suggest you simply let a pilot episode run.

Conclusion:
With a service provider, the SyFy app is another one of those mid-range app completions. The 1,000 minutes need to be watched in full with no fast-forwarding and the necessary TV service makes all of the content locked until you link. Baring those descriptors, the world of science fiction can be realized through the app and the wonders of the human imagination explored. Until next time we delve deep into the depths of a game.

There are 10 achievements with a total of 0 points

  • Launch Syfy for the first time

After downloading the app for the first time simply launch it and the achievement will unlock before all of the options become available to you.

  • Log in to your television provider for the first time

After the app has launched press and scroll down to the service provider option. It will give you a link (https://www.syfy.com/activate) and a randomly generated code that you must enter into the link. You will then choose your service provider, log in with your credentials, and it will link your Xbox One.

  • Watch first full episode on Syfy

See "Voracious Viewer" for more details.

  • Watch 15 episodes on Syfy

You will use this achievement to get the core of your minutes for "Time Flies." Depending on what you watch as your episodes for this achievement will determine how much more you need to watch afterwards. Episodes like pilots and first seasons tend to contain longer videos in general so keep this in mind.

After your 15th episodes you will unlock the achievement. You can take advantage of your achievement app to track progress.

  • Watch 20 clips on Syfy

It's best to pair "Seen A Thing Or Two" (three different shows) and "Repeat Viewer" (view an episode or clip for the second time) with this achievement. Like it states in the description, simply watch 20 clips on the app. You can take advantage of your achievement tracker to keep track.

  • Pin Syfy to the home page

At the main menu, or any broad menu on the app simply press and click the first option to pin the app to your home page.

  • Pin a show to the home page

You will need to actually go into a show's menu screen to get the ability to pin it to your homepage. Once inside the show itself, use the to scroll to the right until you hit the 'About' section. In here you can drop down and click 'Pin to Home.'

  • Watch an episode or clip for the second time

Take any episode or clip that you have watched once already and simply watch it again. This is a good trick when you find a very short clip to snag "Just Getting Warmed Up" which is awarded for watching 20 clips.

  • Watch content from 3 or more different shows

Simply choose three different shows, and watch a clip from each to get the achievement in the fastest way possible.

  • Watch 1000 minutes of video

So this is the bread and butter achievement out of the whole lot. You will need to watch 16.6 hours worth of material off of the app. By the time you finish all the other achievements you should be close to finishing off the requirement, but not quite there. You can take advantage of your achievement tracker to keep track of your progress.

Remember, there is no fast-forwarding trick to utilize with this app so you will need to either watch the shows, snap the app and do something else, or let it run on a playlist. Personally, I loved both Defiance and Dominion which was more than enough content to put me over the hour requirement.
