Introduction:
This is one of the most fun and entreating music games to date, the songs are catchy and the visuals are stunning. This game may not satisfy everyone but if you’re a Beatles fan this game will not disappoint. If your a casual gamer you may not be so interested in playing your way through the history of The Beatles, if your not worried about the songs this is a very interesting experience. The achievements are fair but may challenge new players, if you have been playing music games for a while and can use your expert skills to get through any music game you shouldn't have many concerns with this one.

Breakdown:
If this is your first time playing a music game complete the tutorials so your up to speed on how to play the game in it's basic form. Most of you may already be experienced in the games format so it's time for you to start your story playthrough.

1st Playthrough:

As you start out pick whatever instrument you are most comfortable with and rock your way through The Beatles history from start to finish. The difficulty isn't going to make a difference to your progression so if you want to start out slow and alter the difficulty as your progress you can. Obviously the harder the difficulty the more points you will get towards "Gear Guitarist", "Ace Bassist", "Dazzling Drummer" and "Sensational Singers". As you need to earn 1 million points for each of these achievements the more you score in each song the faster they will unlock. If your playing through on hard you should earn each of these achievements roughly half way through your story. If your playing with a partner on the same console your score seems to be divided between the two players.

Make sure you 5-star each song to collect all the beetles photos and so you can unlock all challenges which follow on from the story mode. You won't be able to collect all the photos from just playing the story mode so the better you do the faster you will progress towards "I Saw the Photograph", "In Penny Lane There Is A Barber" and "Images of Broken Light". Once you complete the final challenge and unlock all the photos you will be rewarded "Images of Broken Light".

Day Tripper Achievement:

Before you read any further make sure you you don't miss "Day Tripper", you will be required to finish the game within 24 hours of creating the game save. The games story will only take you around 3 hours or so to complete fully so make sure you do it in one go. If you don't feel like rushing create a new save file and play through every song back to back and unlock this achievement.

Beatles Challenges:
These are fairly straight forward and shouldn't give you any problems unless you struggled with the story mode. Each challenge consists of playing all the songs in each venue back to back. It doesn't matter what difficulty you play on for these either so just progress through them at your own pace. Make sure you 5-star all the songs so that you will be rewarded with "Toppermost of the Poppermost" and earn the final photo collectible achievement mentioned in the 1st playthrough.

2nd & 3rd Playthroughs:
If you play with all the instruments then you may have already done this by the time you start earning all the other achievements. You will need to play through the story again to earn the other 1 million score achievements for each instrument. The bass and drums won't be an issue for most people but the vocals will need to be harmonized with other singers for it to count towards the achievement. Unless you have various people who can play with you to earn the vocal achievements you will need to find people to play with using the achievement trading thread.

Depending on your skill level you may struggle playing with other instruments, practice makes perfect so if you are having issues just play on easy until you feel you can progress to the next step in the difficulty. You don't need to play the harder difficulties for the 1 million score achievements so just take your time.

Expert & Gold Stars:
This will probably be a nightmare for most people who are either new to the game or who struggle with other instruments. Playing on expert on the guitar and bass can be easier than most other music games but the drums and vocals may be little tricky. Ringo is a very under-rated drummer and the note charts will catch you off guard when you least expect it. The vocal harmonies are what will cause most of the singing issues. If you’re good with vocals find two other players who are at the same level as you and you shouldn't have any issues.

The expert achievements and song specific achievements may seem a little difficult at first but with a little practice you should be able to play through most of the songs on this game on expert to earn your gold stars. Find the instrument your most comfortable with and keep trying, the guitar can be a lot easier on certain songs compared to the bass so you may want to change instruments depending on the songs.

You may want to play with other players online or at home to earn the following gold star achievements "Free Your Mind Instead", "Things That Money Just Can't Buy", "No One's Frightened of Playing", "And the Band Begins to Play".

Xbox Live/Band:
?If you are having issues finding someone to play through the game with you can complete the whole story mode online in a co-op live story with other band mates. All the achievements mentioned in the guide can be earned online or offline depending on how you want to play the game.

At some point your going to need to find 4 players to complete some of the band achievements. These can be complete offline if you have enough people but if you don't they can be completed online through xbox live. Either gather members from the achievement trading thread or player with friends offline, you're going to be working towards "A Little Help From My Friends", "All Together Now", "Eight Days A Week", "Like a Million Suns" and "Don't Let Me Down". You will need at least three band members to complete most of these and possibly a forth depending on what difficulty you play on.

Clearing up:

At this point you may have a few expert achievements or band related achievements to complete. Just progress through what you have left at your own pace and you should be on your way to finishing up the game. If your stuck try taking your game online and playing with other people to see if it helps.

Conclusion:
By the time you have read through the guide and completed most of the story based achievements you should be well on your way to 1000.

The Beatles: Rock Band Achievement Guide

Show secret achievements

There are 50 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Start a Story with a four player band.

    (6)
You don't have to play through the whole story with four players, simply sign in two guitars, the drum kit and a controller with a mic and start story mode, the achievement will appear shortly after doing so. You can also do this over xbox live, if you join someone who has already started their story and there is four players, the achievement will unlock.
  • Five-star every song in The Beatles: Rock Band.

    (2)
In story mode, play all of the songs and get a 5 star rating, this isn't difficult as it can be done with any instrument on any difficulty, if you failed to get 5 stars on a few songs in your playthrough, repeat them again on a lower difficulty to make it easier.
  • Get a Guitar, Bass and Drum unison bonus on the songs listed on the Achievements screen.

    (2)
You will require three players for this achievement, while playing songs as a band, star power phases will often appear for everyone at the same time if the three instruments hit all of the notes in the phase you will gain double the usual star power and it will tell you that the unison bonus was achieved, to save any annoyance, this is possible on any difficulty, the songs that you need to do this on are as follows:
    • And Your Bird Can Sing
    • Birthday
    • Hello Goodbye
    • Revolution
    • Taxman
    • Yellow Submarine
  • Maintain Beatlemania for 60 seconds.

    (13)
If you weren't aware, Beatlemania is star power, this is simple to do as a band, have the first player activate star power and just before it runs out have another player activate, follow this pattern for a minute. Awaiting information on whether this is possible solo.
  • Use Beatlemania at least 5 times in a single song using either Bass or Guitar.

    (1)
This isn't possible on the first few venues, when you get to the fifth venue (Abbey Road '66-'67) play "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club", this is one of the songs it is possible on, play it on any difficulty and as soon as you can activate star power, do it. There is more than enough star power in this song to net the achievement. You can also do this on "I Want You" if you are struggling for any reason.
  • Get an 8x Band Multiplier.

    (1)
This is only possible with 4 players, all players must activate star power together, it doesn't matter about the player's multiplier as this is the band multiplier.
  • Score 1,000,000 points in a single song.

    (4)
This is much easier if you play on a high difficulty with more people, this is impossible in solo, so don't even try. Try the longest song on the game, "I Want You", this would be ideal if you tried with everyone on expert so that there is margin for error. Finally, make sure that your band activates star power together to gain higher multipliers and in turn higher scores.
  • Finish any song as a Bassist with Lefty Mode turned on, hitting at least 50% of the notes.

    (7)
This is quite easy, play a short song on any difficulty and like Guitar Hero 3's lefty flip achievement you can position a mirror in your room to reflect your television and the colours will appear in normal position when looking through the mirror.
  • Score 100% playing I Saw Her Standing There on Expert Bass.

    (5)
All I can suggest here is to get used to the song's rhythm and keep retrying, if you are struggling you can try certain parts of the song in practice mode. This song is a bit of a fast strumming single note song, might take some endurance.
  • Start a new Story save file and reach the credits within 24 hours.

    (4)
This achievement is possible to miss, but highly unlikely. The game takes roughly 4 hours to complete, the achievement will unlock without having to do the song "The End" at the end of the game. You have to complete this within 24 real hours after the save was made, for example if you started at 3PM on Monday you'd have to finish the game before 3PM on Tuesday, it isn't a collective time of 24 hours.

    Awesome Tip thanks to alphakira:

If you start the game and then something comes up or you can't complete it in that time, simply stay offline and put your xbox's clock backwards.
  • Score 100% notes hit on Helter Skelter playing Expert Drums.

    (3)
You will need to be decent on drums to do this, again try getting used to the rhythm of the song and slow sections down in practice mode if you are struggling. If you are new to the drumming system, check out the Drum Trainer from the practice menu.
  • Calibrate your system for the optimal experience.

You can do this at the beginning of the game, if you are like me and you need to calibrate this will be the first achievement you unlock, either play through the test or enter your own values in to net this achievement.
  • Earn Expert gold stars on the 4 songs displayed on the Achievements screen.

    (7)
Gold stars are earned when you do very well on a song, it is possible to get gold stars and miss one or two notes, you will have to play on expert on any instrument for this achievement, like the others get used to the rhythm of the songs and practice if necessary. Finally using star power on chord sections is the key to scoring more points, look out for good places to activate. Some people find doing these as a band makes it easier. The songs you need to gold star are as follows:

    I Feel Fine:
Expert Guitar Gold Star at Roughly:
    76,000 points.
    Requirements:
Almost need to 100%, 99% is passable depending on where you miss, you MUST use the star power path below otherwise it is extremely difficult, with the star power you might miss an opportunity to use the last star power phase in this song

    Star Power Path:
    1) After collecting 2 phases, activate straight away.
    2) After collecting 3 phases, activate straight away.
Important Tip: The last note of the solo is very pesky, make sure you strum the last ten notes of the solo so that you don't get confused.

Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds:
Expert Guitar Gold Star at Roughly:
    62,000 points.
Requirements: 99% or better using star power decently should do.

    Revolution:
Expert Guitar Gold Star at Roughly:
    120,000 points.
Requirements: 98% and up, using star power decently on powerchord sections and the main riff.
Important Tip: Get used to the rhythm of the song and make sure to nail all of the HOPO sections.

    Twist And Shout:
Expert Guitar Gold Star at Roughly: 96,000 points.
Requirements: Not too hard as it is an easy song, go for 100% really.
  • Earn Expert gold stars on the 4 songs displayed on the Achievements screen.

Expert Guitar Gold Star at Roughly: 114,000 points.
Requirements: 98% or better, save your star power until the red and yellow triplets come in and use it on fast sections.
Important Tip: Practice a lot using triplets, you'll struggle with this song if you struggle to strum quickly.

    Can't Buy Me Love:
Expert Guitar Gold Star at Roughly: 113,000 points.
Requirements: 99% or better, use star power on the 3-note chords and you should do this easily.

Expert Guitar Gold Star at Roughly: 99,000 points.
Requirements: 99% or better, use star power decently.

    Helter Skelter:
Expert Guitar Gold Star at Roughly: 174,500
Requirements: 100% and try to work out a good star power path, I made sure that I had a full bar of star power and entered it as the outro starts with the G-YB- notes, then pick up the one there to refill. Best of luck with this one.

  • Hit 100% of the notes in either of the solos in While My Guitar Gently Weeps on Expert Guitar.

    (1)
You have two chances of doing this, personally I thought that both solos were as easy as each other, if you don't 100% the first, try the second and if not, retry and practice until you do.
  • Hit 100% of the notes in the solo of Can't Buy Me Love on Hard or Expert Guitar.

This solo is pretty easy, if you're struggling slow it down in practice mode and definitely try it on hard if you haven't already.
  • Get a 350-note streak playing Here Comes The Sun on Guitar.

    (7)
This can be done on any difficult except for easy, on medium you will basically have to 100% it, or do well on hard or expert. Not too hard to obtain, practice if necessary.
  • Get a 550-note streak playing I Am The Walrus on Drums.

    (4)
This is possible on all difficulties, basically 100%ing Easy & Medium and doing well on Hard & Expert. Again, not hard to obtain, practice if necessary.
  • Earn a five-star rating for the songs on the Achievements screen as a Vocalist on Hard or Expert.

Recommended you do this on Hard, get used to the pitch of the songs and hum instead of singing if that is easier for you. The songs that you need to five star are as follows:
    • Boys
    • Don't Let Me Down
    • Do You Want To Know A Secret
    • Getting Better
  • Get all possible Double Fab ratings for every song with 2 vocal parts.

    (1)
This achievement requires a vocalist and another player who is singing along with harmonies, sing the harmonies well together to get a fab rating, the songs that contain double fab ratings are as follows (two songs per bullet):
    • A Hard Day's Night, Come Together
    • Dig A Pony, Eight Days A Week
    • Get Back, Hey Bulldog
    • I Am The Walrus, I Me Mine
    • I Saw Her Standing There, I Want To Hold Your Hand

    • Something, Ticket To Ride
  • Get all possible Triple Fab ratings for every song with 3 vocal parts.

    • While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Yellow Submarine
  • Play Dear Prudence on Expert Guitar, playing all hammer-ons and pull-offs without strumming.

    (3)
The strum pattern for this song may be confusing at first, get used to the rhythm and practice it if necessary. You don't have to 100% the song, just hit all of the HOPOs without strumming any of them, meaning that if you miss a normal note and the following note is a HOPO, you will not be able to get the achievement. It helps to 100% it so that you don't get confused.
  • Play a song in The Cavern '63 in Story.

Can't be missed if playing the story. This is for completing one song in story mode.

When you finish all of the songs in story mode, you can do chapter challenges, these are like setlists from previous Rock Band games, play all eight sets of songs to unlock this achievement.
  • Finish all 8 Chapter Challenges with full star ratings.

This is the same as the previous achievement but you have to earn five star ratings for all of the songs within each setlist, if you are struggling with this, play on a lower difficulty and it should be easy enough.

    See "Images of Broken Light".
  • Complete all the Beatle Beats.

From the main menu head to the practice screen and enter the drum trainer, then select Beatle Beats. Simply 100% notes hit all of the beats, some of these can be tricky, if needs be get a friend to do the bass pedal while you focus on the drum pads. You must complete all 86 of these on 100% speed, going under 100% won't count as you need the drum icon on the left bar to turn green.

It helps to 100% it so that you don't get confused.
  • Complete all the Drum Lessons.

From the main menu head to the practice screen and enter the drum trainer, then select Drum Lessons. Simply 100% notes hit complete all of the beats, they aren't too difficult, if needs be get a friend to do the bass pedal while you focus on the drum pads. Secret achievements

  • You saved a bandmate from failing!

Can be done by yourself, play easy vocals and easy guitar, sing until you earn star power on guitar and then stop singing, when the singer fails out activate star power on the guitar and you will net this achievement.
  • Hit 100% of the notes in the solo of The End on Hard or Expert Guitar.

Play the encore song on hard and the solo is so much easier than it is on expert, this is an easy solo but if you are struggling still, slow it down in practice mode.
  • Hit 100% of the notes in the solo of The End on Expert Drums.

    (4)
This may take some practice to do, but if you have a friend handy, have him take care of the bass pedal while you focus on the drum pads. Slowing this section down in practice mode can help a lot.
  • Get half of the Beatles Photos.

    See "Images of Broken Light".
  • Complete the Encore in Story.

When you complete all eight venues, the credits will roll, after these you can play the encore song, complete it on any difficulty to unlock this achievement.
  • Get all the Beatles Photos.

You can earn two photos from each song in story mode, one for a three star rating and one for a five star rating, you also receive photos for completing the challenges. The five star ratings can be done on any difficulty, same for the challenges.
