Introduction:
Jackie Estacado, Godfather of an old mafia family, is empowered with the devastating force of the Darkness. It has been two years since Jackie used this power to kill his girlfriend's murderers. Once buried deep in his soul, the Darkness is reawakened, more powerful than ever after a brutal assassination attempt against him.

Step 1: Easy/Normal playthrough + collectibles + misc achievements.
In your first playthrough, enjoy the game on an easy difficulty as you find the collectibles and the misc achievements. I'll list them in order of appearance.

· One Man Army
· Romantic
· Decisions, Decisions
· The Bird is the Word
· That's Why I'm the Boss
· Carnie Kid
· Mmmm Essence!/Relic Hunter (If you bought the Collector's Edition, there's a code inside that will show you where the relics are hidden.)

If you've missed something, and you're going for the 1000, no worries as you can replay any chapter after you've completed the game once.

Step 2: Don playthrough/New Game+.
IMPORTANT NOTE: When you start your second playthrough, be sure to select the "New Game+" and NOT the "New Game". It's possible that you'll lose all your talents if you choose the start a "New Game".

It's time for your second playthrough on the "Don" difficulty. This is the hardest achievement, but it isn't all that hard. If you've collected all the relics and unlocked all the missable achievements, you don't have to worry about anything but blasting through. Please refer to the "Don of Darkness achievement" for useful tips.

Step 3: Vendettas Campaign/Hit Lists.
Now that you've covered the single player campaign, it's time for something a little different: in the Vendetta's Campaign and the Hit List missions you'll play as four different characters with different abilities, which adds some spice to the game.

There are eight chapters of Vendetta's campaign and 18 short Hit List missions but you only need to complete six of them. There are no missable achievements associated to these two game modes.

Conclusion:
This game is very exciting and the cartoon style graphics are awesome. The executions are epic and the new Estacado's Talents makes the game even better. I feel that it is a little too short, but aside from that you won't regret playing it and the full gamerscore is fun and easy. Enjoy!

Like all shooter games, completing the campaign on the hardest difficulty isn't actually very hard at all, it only requires you to take your time and to think of the best strategy. The awesomeness of this game is that it allows you to play the way you like; there are many different ways to kill your enemies.

As I mentioned in the Roadmap, you should keep this achievement for your New Game+. You'll be able to start with all your talents and upgrades which will help you tremendously to blast through the game again.

Here's a list of useful tips that you should keep in mind if you don't want to die over and over again:
- Always eat the enemie's heart to keep your health gauge full.
- Look for glowing objects, such as javelins and explosives that you could throw at your enemies to save ammo.
- If you see a car door, grab it as a shield (), it'll save your life more than once. You can also throw them from a very long distance for an instant kill.
- Dual weapons aren't accurate at all, so don't bother using them if the enemies are too far away.
- Always watch for the lights. Destroy as many of them as possible before moving into a fight.
- "Gun Channelling" will help you TREMENDOUSLY! I would suggest buying every upgrade as soon as possible.
- The "Demonic Executions" Talent gives you a strong shield when you execute an enemy, it's a good idea to buy this as well.
At Home in the Dark

Finish all chapters in New Game+ on any difficulty

When you finish the game, you'll be able to start a new game on any difficulty with all your purchased talents or choose to replay any chapter. For this achievement complete the game again on any difficulty, but I would suggest playing on the "Don" difficulty if you haven't already done so.

Important Note: At the end, you must choose to leave the Asylum. If you don't, you won't be able to complete the last chapter...
One Man Army

Kill 25 enemies while being dragged from the restaurant, without dying or restarting checkpoint

This should be the very first achievement you'll unlock, as it's the very first part of the game. You'll follow your friend Vinnie into an Italian restaurant where you'll start speaking with two ladies. The Mob will then blast in and damage your leg. Vinnie will try to drag you somewhere safe and you'll have to cover him by shooting the enemies. For the achievement, you'll want to kill 25 of them without dying or restarting to the last checkpoint. There are more than 25 enemies but you won't be able to kill them all. What I suggest is that you kill as many as possible while you have the one handed pistol. When you'll have dual pistols, you won't be as accurate and you'll miss plenty of targets. When you play on easy, it takes only one bullet to kill an enemy. If you fail, simply restart the level in the pause menu.

As you have infinite ammo don't waste your time aiming.

I'll describe checkpoints for you to see if you're on the right way:
- From the beginning to the Candlestick falling on the Italian guy: 9 enemies.
- From the Candlestick falling on the Italian guy to the white van crashing into the restaurant: 6 enemies.
- From the white van crashing into the restaurant to the end: 10+ enemies.
The Bird is the Word

Avoid being run over in the parking garage

While in the parking garage, the mission after you've survived the interrogation, a car will try to run over you in a slow-mo sequence. You can't avoid/dodge it, you must shoot at it. You can also use your Gun Channeling Talent to make things easier.
Carnie Kid

Earn a score of over 1000 in each of the carnival games

As you play the game, you'll eventually be in an abandoned amusement park. In this area, you'll have two flashback of you and Jenny playing carnival games. You have to earn a score of over 1000 in both gun games. It's not really hard but if you miss it, simply restart to the last checkpoint. Remember that you can skip the repetitive cutsceens by pressing .
Impish Delight

Kill 15 enemies while playing as the Darkling

Playing as the Darkling isn't a Talent that you must buy. You'll play as him twice throughout the story. The very first time you won't be able to kill more than 3 enemies but the second time, you'll have the chance to kill plenty of them, perhaps more than 15.

To kill someone, you must sneak behind him and press to execute him. While playing as the Darkling, you'll see unattainable enemies in the light. If you see that they aren't moving at all, don't try to kill them or you'll die.
Executioner

To execute an enemy, you must first stun him by throwing a light object at him or by using your slash attack. Then, press to grab him and press , , or to perform any of the different executions. You must repeat that process 50 times. You shouldn't miss it.
The Swarm King

To get this achievement, you'll first have to buy the Swarm Talent which will cost 1000 Essence. From now on, while in a fight press to swarm the enemies and kill them however you want. Repeat this process 50 times.
The Old Gibber

You'll first have to buy the Gun Channeling talent which will cost 1000 Essence. From now on while in a fight, press to activate the talent which will give you infinite ammo for a few seconds. It will also boost your gun's damage. Kill 100 enemies while the talent is activated to unlock the achievement.
Suck It Up

Kill 50 enemies with Black Hole while playing as Jackie

To unlock the Black Hole Talent, you must first buy the following upgrades:
- Demonic Lift
- Heart Health
- Demon Blades
- Black Hole
When you have bought these, you'll randomly be able to grab a black hole from a dead body instead of his heart. When you grab one (), throw it () near your enemies to kill them. Repeat with 50 enemies.

Note: I would recommend buying the Black Hole upgrade for this, but it's not absolutely necessary.

To kill an enemy with the Demon Arm Slash, you must press and slash in any direction with . It might take more that one slash to kill an enemy though. Repeat the process 50 times to unlock the achievement.
Ready for the Big Leagues

Throughout the game, you'll find different objects that can be thrown at the enemies. You must grab deadly objects (car doors, pool sticks, metal pieces, explosives, fans, any sharp or impaling objects, etc.) by pressing and pressing it again to throw it. Repeat the process 50 times to unlock the achievement.
Dark Akimbo

Kill 100 enemies while dual wielding 2 different guns while playing as Jackie

You must press to use your dual weapons, but for this achievement you must have two different weapons. Grab a pistol and a UZI for example and kill 100 enemies with them. The dual weapons aren't accurate but there will be plenty of close range areas where you'll be able to kill enemies.

Impress Dolfo in two different ways

Load up the "On The Hunt" chapter and go see Dolfo on the outside balcony. Speak with him and press to choose between two options, shooting bottles or shooting pigeons. For the achievement you must shoot all the bottles within 10 seconds and shoot at least 20 out of the 24 pigeons in the allotted time.

You can adjust the aiming sensibility to make it easier.
Karma's a Bitch

Kill a shielded enemy with his own shield

When you must rescue Aunt Sarah you'll see the first shielded guy. Kill everyone around him, destroy the shield armor with your slash attack, steal his shield by pressing and press it again to throw it at him. If you don't get the achievement at that moment, there will be plenty of places where you'll find shielded enemies.

Kill 2 enemies with one javelin

After you've heard about Swifty (when you took the elevator with Vinnie, in your house, after the very first mission) you'll be in an alley and you'll open a door with your demon arm. As soon as the door opens, grab the javelin (pool stick()) on the container to your right and throw it () at the enemies as soon as they're aligned.

If you use the Swarm ability, it becomes a lot easier as the enemies are stationary. I did this in the final chapter where there are masses of enemies coming at you, got it really easily without even trying.
Versatile Killer

Kill enemies in 5 different ways within 30 seconds

This achievement may sound difficult but it's not. First, put the difficulty on easy, enter the area with all the enemies and shoot all the lights. Then follow these steps:
- Throw a deadly object at someone ().
- Press to use your swarm on an enemy and then shoot him with any gun.
- Press to use your Gun Channeling and shoot an enemy with any gun.
- Press to grab an enemy and then press , , or to execute him.
- Press and use the to kill the last guy (Slash Attack).
Skeet Shoot

Grab an enemy with , throw him above your head by pressing again and shoot him as soon as possible. I would recommend using an assault rifle for this.

There's a total of 28 Talents (4 trees) that you'll need to unlock. You buy them with Essence which come from the kills you make, the hearts you eat, the relics you find and the lights you destroy. These talents can be purchased from Talent Shrines that you'll find throughout the game. You may not be able to buy all of the talents in your first playthrough, but you don't have to worry about it as you'll restart the game with your all purchased Talents. You won't have to buy the same ones again.

36 800 Essence is required to buy every upgrade.

If you bought the Collector's Edition of the game, there's a code inside which allows you to see the Relics through walls (you won't need any guide if you have this). In Vendettas, acquire all the talents for one character

Like in the Single Player Campaign, every character has Talent Trees. You must fully upgrade the trees of any character (JP, Jimmy, Inugami or Shoshanna).

Firstly, I would suggest completing a mission with every character to see who's your favorite. Then start playing with him/her. If you go through the Vendetta's Campaign and every Hit List with the same character, you should have earned enough Essence to buy all the Talents.

If you want to accelerate the process, play solo on the "Thug" difficulty. Keep executing the enemies (stun them with and execute them with ). You'll receive 30 Essence instead of 10. You can also search for the six Relics throughout the Vendetta's Campaign. You'll receive 300 Essence each.

Personally, I love playing with Shoshanna. If you hold , your shotgun will shoot a powerful blast that gives 20 Essence when you kill someone with it. If you destroy enemies' hearts afterwards by pressing , you may receive more than 30 Essence per kill.

There's a total of 18 Hit List missions. Eight of them are Vendetta's campaign missions but they won't count towards the achievement. The remaining missions are Hit List exclusive, which means that they do count towards the achievement. Four of them can only be done with partners online and the six remaining can be done solo.
