Welcome to The Entropy Centre, a first person puzzle game where you use a gun to invert the entropy of objects, allowing them to move backward through time. Fans of the Portal series will notice a lot of similarities, as you wake up in an abandoned facility while an AI talks to you through a series of puzzle chambers. This game takes place in a facility on the moon, tasked with saving Earth each time a world-ending event occurs. This game is quite a bit longer than others in the genre, but once you get the hang of how to approach puzzles, the majority are all solved the same way. Achievements are all pretty straightforward aside from the collectibles, so read on below to ensure you don't need to do more than one playthrough. Let's get started.
The first, and absolutely most important, thing to be aware of is the collectibles for Data Research (50G). For some strange reason, the developers made the decision to make it so that you can't collect any missed terminals via chapter select after beating the game; doing so resets your collectible count. If you miss any, the only way to continue on with your collectible count is to choose "Continue" from the main menu, starting a new playthrough from the beginning of the game. You'll then need to play through the game again up to whatever point the collectible(s) is that you missed. As a result, I highly recommend keeping my collectible guide in Data Research (50G) handy and consult it throughout to ensure you don't need a second playthrough. Also important to note, as stated in that achievement solution, is that if you die after getting a terminal, you must recollect it if your game didn't save in between. Recollect any after you die just to be safe.
Other than that, nothing else is missable, so feel free to play blind and enjoy the game if you'd like. There actually isn't really anything to worry about until Act 7. For whatever reason, almost every miscellaneous achievement takes place in that Act. Specifically, refer to the following solutions when you get to Act 7, in this order, to grab them while you're there:
- Summer Luvin' (25G)
- Man's Best Friend (50G)
- Archivist (50G)
- Chain Reaction (25G)
- Handyman (50G)
- Fashionista (50G)
And that's it for everything besides the story related achievements. There's a walkthrough for all the puzzles linked in Looper (200G) if you need it or prefer to just follow it throughout.
The Entropy Centre is a really good puzzle game. In my opinion, most of the puzzles were too simple - many were ultimately just a matter of doing steps in reverse and then rewinding - but the story was unique and the emails were very interesting and entertaining. Hopefully you solved all the puzzles yourself, because who buys a multi-hour $25 puzzle game and then follows a walkthrough for the whole thing? Hopefully you enjoyed the game and managed the completion.
