Introduction:
The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe is a first person adventure game. When a simple-minded individual named Stanley discovers that the co-workers in his office have mysteriously vanished, he sets off to find answers. But as you explore, slowly, meaning begins to arise, the paradoxes might start to make sense, perhaps you are powerful after all. The game is not here to fight you; it is inviting you to dance.

You will play as Stanley, and you will not play as Stanley. You will make a choice, and you will have your choices taken from you. The game will end, the game will never end. Contradiction follows contradiction, the rules of how games should work are broken, then broken again. You are not here to win; this world was not made for you to understand. The Stanley Parable is a game that plays you.

The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe is an expanded re-imagining of the critically acclaimed, award winning indie game The Stanley Parable from 2013. Everything that was in the original Stanley Parable is here, preserved just like it was back in 2013, but The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe also dramatically expands the world of the original game with new content, new choices, and new secrets to uncover. The labyrinth has just gotten bigger.

In addition, the game has been visually upgraded to reflect modern technology while faithfully preserving the tone of the original game. Accessibility features have also been added to the game, including localization of in-world text, colorblind options, and content warnings. And just as before, the impeccable voice work of Kevan Brighting will accompany you every step of the way.

In The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, everything you remember has been recreated, yet it's different somehow. We've been here before, haven't we? Is Stanley still the same as he was back then? Or is it you who has changed?” - xbox.com

The Stanley Parable is an award-winning game that was first released for PC in 2013. It is a basic first-person perspective game; there is no combat and includes basic functions such as movement, crouching, and interacting with objects. There is no jumping (except in designated areas), and death results in the game being reset.

You control Stanley, a worker in a non-descript office who suddenly finds himself alone with no indication of where his co-workers are. As Stanley begins to explore, a voiceover begins narrating the events of the game. Stanley can choose to listen to the narrator or ignore them and investigate the building on his own. Many choices will be presented to Stanley, and as such, the narrator will react accordingly. The choices made will result in different endings before resetting it back to the beginning.

The Ultra Deluxe edition was released in April of 2022. It further expands on the original game by adding a new area with new environments, choices and endings.

Step 1 - Miscellaneous Achievements:
Since we will be playing and completing the game many times for Test Achievement Please Ignore (90G), we can go ahead and get a majority of the achievements done which will take only about a half hour. During our time, we will be unlocking all of the quick miscellaneous achievements, such as You Can't Jump (90G), Settings World Champion (90G) and Welcome Back! (90G), before completing the game for the first time with the ‘Freedom’ ending.

Refer to the guide below for the most efficient method to unlock these achievements.
The next four steps can be done in any order.

Step 2 - Ultra Deluxe Content/Collectibles/Epilogue (i.e., Test Achievement):
Test Achievement Please Ignore (90G) might be confusing to some as requires the most time and preparation of any achievement in the game. To summarize, you need to complete the game twice (with two different endings), complete the ‘New Content’ ending, complete the ‘NEW New Content’ ending, find the collectibles, and finally complete the Epilogue. A fully detailed description of this achievement is found below. This achievement will probably take you approximately two hours from start to finish, maybe more depending on how much you explore.

Step 3 - The dreaded speed run:
Speed run and no death achievements are the bane of existence. This might sound intimidating, but luckily it really isn’t as bad as you might think. This achievement takes a little preparation, but from start to finish, it should only take you about 15 to 20 minutes. After completing the game with the ‘Freedom’ ending, replay the game two or three more times but only get to the boss’s office each time before restarting. Every time you enter the office, the fireplace will open quicker until eventually you won’t have to wait anymore. Then, it’s just a matter of restarting the game until you start in one of two locations, both of which are closer to the ending than Stanley’s office. Refer to Speed Run (90G) for more information.

Step 4 - Don’t play for 10 years?!:
Yep, you read that right. There’s an achievement for not playing the game for 10. Whole. Years. But don’t fret; you don’t have to wait 10 years if you don’t want to. While you can choose to not play this amazing game for such a long period of time, you can also unlock this in a matter of minutes by just changing the date on your console. “But how can I change that if the console is always online?” you ask. Simple; go offline. There are a few simple steps to this, so for instructions on how to be 100:1gs: richer sooner rather than later, refer to Super Go Outside (100G) below.

Step 5 - Play for 24 hours on Tuesday:
This achievement description can be a little misleading as it implies you need to leave your console on for the entire duration of a Tuesday. While you can do that if you choose, it isn’t necessary at all. The actual requirement is to play 24 hours on a Tuesday, whether it’s one hour at a time for 24 Tuesdays or four hours on six different Tuesdays. As long as you accumulate 24 hours on one or multiple Tuesdays, you will earn this. Refer to Commitment (90G) for more information.

Conclusion:
The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe is a fun quirky game that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Your actual achievement gameplay will only take about 4-6 hours, but it is worth exploring around to see how many branching storylines and endings you can find. Whether or not you choose to cheat the 10 year achievement, this will be a very enjoyable 1000:1gs:.

There are 11 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Awarded for getting any of the other achievements as your first.

This achievement unlocks along with your first achievement of the game regardless of which one it is.
  • Complete The Stanley Parable.

In order to unlock this, you must complete the game with the ‘Freedom’ ending, as hinted at in the achievement tile, which is the one true ending of the game. Luckily, it is the shortest and least complicated ending to achieve, requiring only 6 to 8 minutes of your time (depending on how quick you are). You get this ending simply by following the narrator’s instructions.

This will be the same ending used for Speed Run (90G). Technically, you can earn both achievements at the same time since you do not have to complete the game in order to prepare for that achievement, so it’s your choice whether to do two separate playthroughs or not. Refer to that achievement for more information.

    Walkthrough:
From Stanley’s office, walk through the office and down the corridor. Follow the corridor (there are no diverging paths) until you are standing in a room with two doors. Following the narrator, walk through the door on the left and follow the corridor to the meeting room. Exit the meeting room through the door on the far side, take a right and continue until you happen upon a stairwell. Climb the stairs to the top and exit the stairwell, take a right and you will see an open door on the left. This is the boss’s office.

Enter the office and there is a keypad on the wall behind the desk. Listening to the narrator, he will reveal the combination to be ‘2845’ (if you enter the combination before the narrator finishes telling you what it is, you will have to wait about 15 seconds while listening to calming new-age music). After entering it (first, enter ‘8888’ twice for 8888888888888888 (90G)), the fireplace on the wall beside you will open into a dark area. Walk through it until you see an elevator with a down arrow. Press :1a: to interact with it.

When the elevator reaches the bottom, follow the path into the ‘Mind Control Facility’. In each of the three larger circular platforms, interact with a button on the desk to continue. After pressing the third button on the third platform, step on the lift and it will ascend automatically. At the top, exit and walk towards the ‘Facility Power’ door. Go through it and walk a little further to reach a console. On it are two buttons; ‘Off’ and ‘On’. Press the ‘Off’ button and the screen will go black. After about 15 seconds, the narrator will begin talking again and you will see a sliver of light in front of you after another 15 seconds. The narrator will continue to talk as the light grows larger and eventually you will be able to step outside. When you do, the achievement will unlock.

  • Test achievement description! Replace this!

This achievement is for flipping a lever in The Stanley Parable 2 Expo Hall which is found behind the ‘NEW New Content’ door, but flipping the lever won’t be as easy as it seems. This achievement will take approximately 2-2.5 hours, depending on your speed and how much you explore.

To get the ‘NEW New Content’ door to appear, you first need to complete the game twice with different endings. Since you should be completing the ‘Freedom’ ending for Beat The Game (90G), you can decide on the many other endings to complete. To see all the endings, here is a VIDEO, courtesy of Khonziel.

Once you’ve completed the game twice, door ‘416’, which is in the corridor just before the room with the two doors, changes to the ‘New Content’ door. The door is slightly ajar so step through it, walk down the corridor and step on the conveyor. You will be taken on a ride that briefly introduces the ‘Ultra Deluxe’. Once you can walk freely again, proceed through the linear path to see the new content firsthand. Without spoiling anything, the game will eventually restart itself and you will find yourself back in Stanley’s office…

Upon leaving the room, you will notice that you are not in main office, but in some kind of warehouse. As you are about to walk up the steps, the vent grating on the wall will open and the narrator will try and coax you into crawling into it. To continue, follow the narrator’s instructions and enter the vent, and at the other end, the narrator created a new section called the Memory Zone. This area is basically a visual history of the game, and after walking through the structure while listening to the narrator, you will eventually enter the maintenance basement and emerge around shipping containers. Here, you will see some Steam reviews before continuing. You will finally read a review about adding a skip button, at which point, a building will appear from the water. Inside will be a skip button to skip over the narrator’s dialogue. Keep pressing the button (this section goes on for about 20 minutes or so) until eventually you cannot press it anymore. Leave the building and keep walking until the game restarts itself, thus completing the ‘Memory Zone’ ending.

For a visual walkthough, here is a VIDEO, courtesy of Baklava.

Once again, you will begin in Stanley’s office. Walk through the empty offices and before you get to the room with the two doors, you will see that the ‘New Content’ door has changed once again and says ‘NEW New Content’ with a bright neon sign. Walk through the corridor, get on the conveyor and enter the elevator. When the doors open, the narrator will reveal that he has been working on a sequel called The Stanley Parable 2. Walk through the modern office as the narrator babbles about his accomplishments until you reach the ‘New Features Expo Hall’. Feel free to explore all of the exhibits in this new area. One exhibit reads ‘Free New + Easy Achievement’. Finally! Remember what I said above about flipping a lever? Here is where you do it! Follow that corridor and you will see a machine with a lever. Walk up to it and interact with the lever and you will finally unlo-- Whoops! It seems that the lever doesn’t work yet. Fiddlesticks. Maybe we have to continue playing the game and come back to it…

Back in the Expo Hall, to the immediate left of the Achievement exhibit is the Collectibles exhibit. For some ungodly reason, the narrator thinks it is a good idea to introduce collectibles in the sequel, so walk up the steps, into the exhibit, and walk towards the light to collect your first Stanley figurine. There are six of these to find, but there are no more in the Expo Hall. You can continue to explore the rest of the hall or exit the hall by climbing a staircase which is to the left of the Collectibles exhibit. At the top of the stairs is a circular room where the narrator will try to arrange the new features into a coherent video game. At the end of the presentation, the game will restart once again, and you will have completed the ‘Expo Hall’ ending.

For a visual walkthough, here is a VIDEO, courtesy of Baklava (note that the Reassurance Bucket is completely optional and you do not have to watch past 18:10 as it is just extra endings not needed for the achievement).

For the next step, you need to collect the five remaining figurines. They are all in various locations in the main office building. Three of them can be collected without restarting the game, but for the other two, you need to restart the game each time.

    Here are the locations:

    1. Collected in The Stanley Parable 2 Expo Hall (‘Expo Hall’ ending)
    2. From Stanley’s office, choose the left door (when given the option), walk through the meeting room and when you reach the stairwell to the boss’s office, climb all the way down to find the figurine under the stairs
    3. From #2, climb the stairs to the top and instead of turning right to go to the boss’s office, turn left and open the door to the executive washroom
    4. From #3, enter the boss’s office and use the code ‘2845’ on the keypad. When the fireplace opens, walk towards the elevator and turn completely around to find the figurine in a darkened alcove (restart the game after this one)
    5. Choose the right door (when given the option) and follow the corridor all the way to the warehouse. Step on the platform and allow it to start moving. When it rises up then goes forward, step off the platform to the right to land on a catwalk. Proceed through the linear corridor until to reach a room with red and blue doors. To the immediate right is the figurine (restart the game)
    6. Choose the right door (when given the option and follow the corridor all the way to the warehouse. There is a plank of wood you can step on. Fall off the edge to the left and follow the wood passage to the final figurine
The game will restart once again, and before you reach the second set of offices/cubicles, the game will stop you and the narrator will talk incessantly and obsessively about the figurines. Eventually the wall will open to reveal the Memory Zone area. You are then tasked with recollecting all the figurines in the same order as before as you listen to the narrator guide you to each location. Continue to follow the narrator through nostalgia until you have collected all six. Just when you think it’s over, the narrator will have you collect the figurines for a third time, this time in reverse order.

When you have 18/6 figurines, you will emerge in the Expo Hall, but it will have changed to the first ‘New Content’ area (with the jump circle). Keep following the path until you are back in Stanley’s office. The game will appear to reset and replay the introduction, this time in reverse order, as the narrator goes on and on memories, until the game properly restarts.

For a visual walkthough, here is a VIDEO, courtesy of Baklava.

The final piece of this puzzle is to play the Epilogue. When the game restarts after your collectible run, press :1menu: then ‘Quit to Menu’. You will be taken back to the title screen where you will see a new option, ‘Epilogue’. Not spoiling anything, the Epilogue is a pretty straightforward story line (hint: to get out of the cave, follow the cord lying on the ground). Eventually you will enter a bare room with a computer sitting on a desk. Interact with the computer and after about two minutes, the game will return you to the main menu. Select ‘Begin the game’ and make your way to the ‘New Content’ door to return to the Expo Hall. Once there, return to the Test Achievement machine, but this time the lever actually works. Flip it to finally unlock this achievement.

For a visual walkthough, here is a VIDEO, courtesy of Baklava (the achievement should unlock around 9:35).

    Summary:
    - Complete the game twice with different endings to unlock the ‘New Content’ door
    - Complete the ‘New Content/Memory Zone’ ending to unlock the ‘NEW New Content’ door
    - In the Expo Hall, pull the lever on the Test Achievement machine then collect the first figurine before completing the ‘NEW New Content/Expo Hall’ ending
    - Collect the remaining five figurines throughout the office building, restarting the game as necessary and then the game will restart on its own
    - Re-explore memories and re-collect figurines until the game naturally restarts
    - After it restarts, quit the game to return to the title screen and you will see a new main menu choice, ‘Epilogue’
    - Complete the ‘Epilogue’ then the game will naturally restart, so select ‘Begin the Game’ from the main menu
    - Head through the ‘New Content’ door to return to the Expo Hall and the lever on the Test Achievement machine will now work
  • Quit the game and then start it again.

When playing for the first time, at the main menu, select ‘Begin the game’. When you are finally in your office and have control of Stanley (either by skipping or watching the introduction), press :1menu: and select ‘Quit to menu’. At the main menu, press spacer.png (the white guide button), highlight the game title, press :1menu: then choose ‘Quit’. This will completely shut down the game.

When you restart the game and have control of Stanley again, the achievement will unlock.
  • No seriously, we disabled it.

At any point in the game when standing in a place where you aren’t interacting with anything (like a door or button), keep pressing :1a: until the achievement unlocks.
  • Play The Stanley Parable for the entire duration of a Tuesday.

Note: It is unknown what time zone this is tracked in, but it is believed to be GMT/UTC, so if you live in a different time zone, it is suggested you adjust your playing time accordingly.

To earn this, the game needs to be played or run for a total of 24 hours on a Tuesday. This is cumulative, so you don’t need to leave your console on for 24 hours straight; you can play or run the game for an hour one day, four hours on another, and so on. Even if the game is paused, it still accumulates time. As long as it’s all on a Tuesday, it will count. Unfortunately, there is no tracking for this achievement, so you would need to keep track of your time manually.

If you decide to leave your console on for an extended period of time, make sure you connect your controller with a USB cable and you go into your console settings and in the ‘General’ option, click on ‘Sleep mode & startup’. In the first option, ‘Don’t turn off after’, select ‘Don’t turn off automatically’ from the drop down menu. This will prevent your console from shutting off prematurely while you are idling.

Caution: While you can go offline and change the date so your console is on a Tuesday (if, for instance, it’s Friday), the game still needs to run cumulatively for 24 hours; you cannot fake the time. If you do decide to go this route for part of all of the required time, the achievement will not unlock until your console is back online.
  • 888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888

From Stanley’s office, walk through the office and down the corridor. Follow the corridor (there are no diverging paths) until you are standing in a room with two doors. Following the narrator, walk through the door on the left and follow the corridor to the meeting room. Exit the meeting room through the door on the far side, take a right and continue until you happen upon a stairwell. Climb the stairs to the top and exit the stairwell, take a right and you will see an open door on the left. This is the boss’s office.

Enter the office and there is a keypad on the wall behind the desk. Instead of listening to the narrator, enter the combination ‘8888’ twice and you will hear a voice say ‘8’ and the achievement will unlock.
  • Click on door 430 five times.

Note: If door ‘416’ has changed to ‘New Content’, go through that door and ‘416’ is on the left along the corridor.

Exit Stanley’s office and the second door on the right is door ‘430’. Stand close to the door and press :1a: five times, and rather than the achievement unlocking, the narrator will admonish you for thinking that it would be that easy to earn an achievement. Instead, you will need to follow the narrator’s instructions and complete some tasks before returning to door ‘430’ if you want to unlock this achievement.

The narrator will first suggest that you click door ‘430’ 20 more times. Not being satisfied with that, he will say to click it an additional 50 times.

Still dissatisfied at the apparent lack of effort, he will then tell you to go to door ‘417’ and click it 20 times. To find it, turn left and walk through the open door into another office and ‘417’ is on the left through the next open door.

After clicking that door 20 times, the narrator will tell you to go back to door ‘437’ and click it a few times. Door ‘437’ is to the immediate left of door ‘430’.

Stanley will then be told to go to door ‘415’ and click it 10 times, so return to door ‘417’ but keep walking through the open door where you will find ‘415’ on the left. Click it 10 times then return to door ‘437’ as instructed.

The narrator will then tell you to click on the copy machine, so turn around and it is behind the dividing wall that says ‘431-436’. Click on it once then you will be instructed to return to door ‘417’.

From there, you need to climb up on the desk of employee ‘419’, so turn around and go back into the previous office. The desk is to the immediate right. To climb on the desk, since there is no jump mechanic, you need to step on the box next to door ‘420’ then onto the desk.

Next, an overly-excited narrator will tell you to click door ‘416’ a few times (across the hall from door ‘415’). After that, return to the copy machine near door ‘437’ and click on it. Then, with extreme jubilee, he will tell you to finish it off by clicking door ‘430’ five times, which will unlock the achievement.
  • Complete The Stanley Parable in under 4 minutes 22 seconds (not including load times)

In order to unlock this, you must complete the game with the ‘Freedom’ ending in the allotted time. But first, you need to make some preparations.

Follow the walkthrough in Beat The Game (90G) to the boss’s office and use the combination ‘2845’ to open the fireplace. After it opens, use the elevator in the darkened area to descend, and when it finally stops and opens, exit and walk through the ‘Mind Control Facility’ door, then press :1menu: and choose ‘Begin the game again’.

In the next playthrough, return to the boss’s office, but instead of having to enter the combination, the narrator will eventually open the fireplace for you. Descend the elevator, exit (noting that after the LOADING screen you are already at the bottom) and walk through the ‘Mind Control Facility’ door. Once again press :1menu: and choose ‘Begin the game again’. Repeat at least twice more and you will notice that each time the fireplace opens quicker, eventually opening before you enter the boss’s office.

With that part complete, keep restarting the game until you spawn in one of the two locations in the screenshots below. It might take just a few restarts, but it might also take multiple ones. For me, it took nearly 30 restarts for the blue office to appear.

‘Short Corridor’ - walk straight down the corridor to the two doors
    spacer.png

‘Blue Office’ - walk into the office then turn right and follow the path to the two doors
    spacer.png

Spawning in one of these two locations starts you that much closer to the room with the two doors, as it is nearly impossible to unlock this if you begin from Stanley’s office.

Walk through the left door and continue the path as outlined in Beat The Game (90G). Because of the preparation beforehand, when you reach the boss’s office, the fireplace should be opening as you walk in. Continue down the elevator and into the ‘Mind Control Facility’ and press the button on the first platform. You can either wait for the gate to open or you can shave off a few seconds by stepping onto the chair and desk, walking along the railing to the gate, then dropping off into the darkness onto the ascending walkway. This is not completely necessary as you should finish with about 10 seconds to spare.

Continue the walkthrough as normal, making sure you follow the path. In the ‘Facility Power’ room, after pressing the ‘Off’ button, wait for the large door to open completely then step out. If you completed the game in less than the time required, the achievement will unlock.

Thanks to TheZinkYT for the video ('Blue Office' route):
  • Set all settings sliders in the menu to all the available numbers.

The requirement for this achievement is to change every setting in the ‘Settings’ menu option. There are three sections: ‘General’, ‘Audio’ and ‘Controls’, with ‘General’ having three sub-sections: ‘Gameplay’, ‘Presentation’ and ‘Accessibility’.

For the values that are a number slider, you must select each individual number. If you hold :1left: or :1right:, the number will begin to jump in increments of 10. Also, there are additional options to change with you turn on ‘Subtitles’ and ‘Transition Labels’.

  • Don't play The Stanley Parable for ten years.

There are two ways to earn this achievement. The first method is to actually wait 10 years from the last time you played the game then start the game again. But since there are a number of factors that might prevent this from happening, some people have opted to go with the second method; advance the date on your Xbox by 10 years. To change the date, two things are required; your Xbox needs to be your ‘Home’ console, and you need to be offline.

    1) To set your Xbox to be your ‘Home’ console, open the guide by pressing spacer.png, navigate to the ‘Profile & System’ tab and choose ‘Settings’. On the next screen, under ‘General’, select ‘Personalization’ then ‘My home Xbox’. Enter a passkey if you have one set up, and on the next screen, check the box (if it isn’t already) that says ‘Make this my home Xbox’. Note, if your console is not set to ‘Home’, you cannot alter the date and time.

    2) Now we need to go offline. Back in the main ‘Settings’ menu, under ‘General’, select ‘Network settings’ then ‘Go offline’. When that’s done, hold down spacer.png then select ‘Restart console’.

    3) Now to change the date. Once your console has restarted, it will still be offline. Go back to ‘Settings’ then select ‘System’ then ‘Time’. Select ‘Date’ and advance it at least 10 years (I did it 10 years and one day). That’s it!

    4) It is time now to unlock the achievement. Start the game then select ‘Begin the game’. Skip the cutscene (if you want to) and when you have control of Stanley, walk out of your office a few steps. The achievement would normally unlock here, but since you are offline, the notification will not show on your screen. Completely exit the game, go back to ‘Settings’ then ‘Network settings’ then select ‘Go online’. This will reconnect you to the internet. Restart the game once more and the achievement will finally unlock, although it might take a few minutes or just a few seconds.
