Introduction:
Welcome to Transference, a first person adventure/puzzle game that takes on a psychological twist as you delve into the memories of a very troubled man and his relationship with his family. The entire game takes place in an apartment, with you trying to solve some minor puzzles to remove corruption from various points in the house. There are a few collectibles to pick up, but with a guide you can easily complete this game in an hour.
Abbreviated Walkthrough:
There are two types of collectibles you need to make sure to pick up: video logs and audio logs. The video logs are actually videos on various shapes (VHS tapes, flash drives, CDs, etc) and are sometimes pretty well hidden. Definitely follow a guide for these because it's very unlikely you'll find them all. The audio logs also come in various forms. Typically they're tape recorders left somewhere, but phone messages on your answering machine also count.
In addition to the collectibles, there's one miscellaneous achievement that you'll have to grab as you go too, which is a hidden photo for "Behind the Curtain". Make sure to grab that as you go too or you'll risk missing it.
Aside from that, everything else is story-related. The game's length comes from its puzzles, so whether you want to play the game yourself and try to solve everything on your own and consult a guide if you get stuck, or if you just want to blow through this game for achievements, there is an excellent 100% walkthrough courtesy of Maka that can be found in the ""Deus ex machina"" achievement solution. Using that video, you can complete the game in under an hour easily. Without it, expect to spend around 3 or so hours, depending on how long it takes you to solve various puzzles.
Once you complete the game, as long as you've grabbed all the collectibles and the one miscellaneous achievement, you should be done with this completion.
Conclusion:
Transference a pretty intense and interesting game. It definitely plays heavily on the psychological experience and wants you to get as immersed as possible. Unfortunately it's a pretty short game with a pretty high price point, so unless you just want fast achievements, I recommend waiting for a sale and then checking it out.
