Introduction:
Embark on a wild adventure and discover the unbreakable bond between Troll and Otto, two outcasts struggling to survive and find their way back home. You can control both characters throughout your solo playthrough, although it is advised you play with a friend in Co-Op mode for the full 1000, which means you will only be able to play as one of the characters.

Deep in the Nordic wilderness, a teenage boy named Otto is forced to flee his home after a band of brutal hunters rip through his village in search of a mythical creature rumored to inhabit the forest. Now on the run for his life, Otto inadvertently finds and befriends the elusive creature being sought by the hunters. Thus begins the perilous adventure of Troll and Otto.

Together, the unlikely friends embark on a journey through treacherous territory plagued with rivals. Natives to the forest, Troll and Otto must use their inherent skills to sneak, strategize, and battle their way back home. The forest is filled with unknowns, and teamwork is pivotal to staying alive.

Abbreviated Walkthrough:
Straight forward, there isn't much needed in the way of a walkthrough. There is no level select and you must play the story from beginning to end, with only the ability to backtrack through the landscape as a means to miss out on things you have forgotten while in the area the first time. There are also blocked off areas to explore that you cannot get to without red, green or blue exploding arrows, which you don't unlock until further along in the story. That means you need to remember (or write down) how many secret areas you might miss and then go back for them.

I suggest you look through the achievements below and take note of what you need to do in regards to specific achievements or collectibles that aren't story related and go from there. It's really only the collectibles that will pose a problem.

Multiplayer:
There are 2 achievements worth 100 that you need to get in Co-Op mode. The game isn't much easier or better played solo or with a friend... but since you need to complete it once in Co-Op in order to get the full 1000gs then you might as well only play it once with a friend (if you can).

Mop-Up:
There are no "levels" per se, so you can't do any mission select options to go back and collect things or close fractures. The only options you have are to be very diligent while playing the game, or literally backtrack through the game to the start, looking for collectibles or doing something achievement related. Thus, there is no "mop up" other than going back and exploring. It sucks. Sorry.

Conclusion:
This would be a good game, if not for numerous bugs/glitches and a whacky save system. Overall, it's fairly fun but can be aggravating for people who like a little more adventure and of course completionists will probably hate the Co-Op achievements. The way it is right now, it's a mediocre game at best.

There are 26 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Complete the game in co-op

This achievement is pretty straightforward. It's local co-op only though...so you can't even find a boosting partner who wants to slug through this online.

  • Defeat Nico and his men

    Story related, cannot be missed.

  • Collect all Diary Entries

    *MISSABLE*

There are numerous collectibles in this game. Some are fairly well hidden and/or behind secret areas that you must expose with explosive spears. Others, however, are glowing right in front of you and you can't miss them. In total, there are 30 Troll idols, 63 Otto idols, 10 Diary pages, 40 sirens, and 27 fractures.

  • Close all of the fractures

    *MISSABLE*

As you play, there will be monsters that spawn out of the ground. These are indicated by a glowing rock "fracture." Somewhere near these fractures are rock piles where Troll can pick up a boulder and throw it at the fracture. This causes more rocks to fall on the fracture, closing it. Just make sure you aim the thrown boulder in the center of the fracture, a few rocks up from the fracture base. My achievement glitched out and I got it without closing "all" of them. There are 27 total and I just had to close 27 of them, not each one of them individually.

  • Destroy all Hunter sirens

    *MISSABLE*

Find all the sirens that call for reinforcements. If/when someone comes up with a location map or walkthrough for these, I will add it.

Refer to "History Reader" for more information.

Mostly located in the hunter camps, they look like this:

  • Collect all Troll idols and max out ability points

    *MISSABLE*

As you play, you will come across small stone idols that give you ability points that you can use to increase stats for the character. They are located in caves, camps, buildings and they shimmer so that you can see them, as long as you are in their vicinity. If a location walkthrough showing all their locations becomes available, I will add it to the guide.

Refer to "History Reader" for more information.

  • Collect all Otto idols and max out skill points

    *MISSABLE*

Refer to "Abilities Master" for more information.

  • Free the prisoner

    Story related, cannot be missed.

  • Defeat the Ahky boss

    Story related, cannot be missed.

  • Complete the mineral mine scene

    Story related, cannot be missed.

  • Complete the collapsed bridge scene

    Story related, cannot be missed.

  • Kill 60 enemies

This achievement will naturally unlock during your playthrough.

  • Kill 30 enemies

This will probably be the second achievement you unlock, as you will be killing many, many enemies during your playthrough.

  • Discover the hide ability

As you progress through the game, Troll can learn this ability by visiting a shrine on your way through a mountain pass. There are stone pillars that refill his mana gauge and this ability is gained by visiting a large pillar similar to those. You can't really miss it. Well you could, but it'd be really, really hard to do.

  • Open the Troll door and enter the caves

    Story related, cannot be missed.

  • Drop the airplane in the crash scene

    Story related, cannot be missed.

  • A dying hunter tells his story

    Story related, cannot be missed.

  • Use a power stone

Pillars used to fill up Troll's power mana. They are made of stone and have a blue glowing orb on the top. They are scattered throughout the game and easy to spot. Just use one and the achievement is yours.

  • Defend against a troll hunter

    Story related, cannot be missed.

  • Use an explosive spear

This achievement will come naturally. You need to combine blue, green or red rock shards with a common spear, creating an explosive spear needed to open doorways. You can use them on enemies, but it's not really worth the resources, save for one or two instances where you might find yourself vastly outnumbered and low on health.

  • Kill 10 scavengers using spears while on Troll's back

    *MISSABLE*

Going for this one by one can be time consuming and aggravating. The best way to do this is to load up on explosive spears and do this in bunches so you don't need to worry so much about your resources and aim.

  • Complete the crash scene in co-op mode

This is part of the story, and so you will get this naturally if you are playing the game with a friend.

  • Collect 10 health plants

There are several different types of plants and berries you can collect and use for health regeneration. You will get this easily enough, provided you scavenge enough during your gameplay. I got this about halfway through the game.

  • Craft a melee weapon

There are everal types of weapons that can be made, both spear-style and blunt melee-style. This comes fairly early, probably after you kill your first boar. You will create dozens of them over your play through.

  • Kill an enemy

This achievement will come naturally during your playthrough.

  • Hunt and skin a boar

    Story related, cannot be missed.
