Introduction:
Welcome to the Octagon! Here, you will be pitted against the best fighters in the world to establish yourself as the top rated fighter among them. You will be spending a large amount of time playing through the career mode, as you will need to complete it 5 times, in order to obtain, Pound-for-Pound Champion, which is unlocked by winning the UFC championship with a fighter in each weight class. Besides your lengthy excursions into the career mode, you will also be spending a lot of time online, even with boosting, this will take you a while to unlock the online achievements. There is 1 achievement, that, due to an early update to the game, has been rendered unobtainable. This is, 'Gold Digger!' which is to obtain all the gold medals in an xbox live ranked match weekly mission. This is of course an online achievement and not being able to obtain this means you cannot get more than 970 total for this game.

Step 1: Career
So your first step, naturally, is to complete the career mode. You can start as any class you want to, but to help keep track of the weight class you have completed it with, you may want to start at lightweight and work your way up the weight. While you are in the midst of your 5 playthroughs, you should be aware of the missable achievements, that are obtained during the career mode. If you do happen to miss any, you will have to start a new career to attempt them again, so to avoid the game becoming stale, try to get these in 1 of your 5 playthroughs, as a sixth would not be desirable. These missable achievements are, Hall of Famer, Call me No Touch!, Where's my bonus check? and Trophy Collector. All of these achievements take time and you must be conscious of the prerequisites of them as you play through your career, as missing them, means you will have to try again on a new career save.

Step 2: Exhibition
Exhibition is a mode in which you can pit 2 fighters against each other, with you of course having control of 1 of them. There are achievements to be obtained in this mode that are unlocked after fulfilling a certain objective within a single fight or that are obtained through accumulative progress towards a total. None of these achievements are especially difficult and can be obtained at any time by selecting the exhibition mode from the main menu.

Step 3: Online
The online achievements in this game can be a pain to unlock without the help of a boosting partner. They may also be a huge grind, even with a boosting partner, as you cannot set up matches between yourself and someone else specifically, you can only increase the chances of fighting your boosting partner by both searching for the same game criteria. Regardless, it is recommended to find someone to boost with, as the online community of this game, may not be what it once was, so finding games will be difficult and obtaining the online achievements will take even longer, with only a small chance of finding a match. Try to enjoy the time you spend fighting online and try choosing different fighters and fighting with different techniques as you will become very acquainted with the game during your many hours playing online.

The majority of the online achievements are for ranking up and the way the game works isn't necessarily that you need to constantly win, but the performance you put in, whether you win or lose will also be a big deciding factor in how much xp you earn for each fight. If you are attempting these achievements with a boosting partner, you should consider fighting with style and trying to have the fight be a close decision so as to both earn sufficient xp with each fight.

Remember to keep in mind that Gold Digger! is unobtainable, so do not waste your time trying to unlock it.

Conclusion:
Certainly not an easy or quick set of achievements, but they are manageable with some patience and persistence, as well as a boosting partner for the online achievements. Be prepared for a lot of boosting as trying to obtain the online achievements would be a brave thing to do, indeed.

There are 30 achievements with a total of 1000 points

  • Win the UFC Championship in each weight class in Career Mode.

The championship comes about 12 matches into your career (if you go undefeated). Do this with every weight class and the achievement should unlock. Their are 5 weight class divisions and the title must be won with a created character in all of them.

  • Win the UFC Championship with a fighter in Career Mode.

The best method for this is to choose a fighter in a lower weight class. Train your fighter in Power and spar early and often - adding your points to punches and kicks if you have a kickboxing fighter.

  • Enter the Hall of Fame with a fighter during Career Mode.

You must play 7 complete seasons before you are prompted to fight a match to deem yourself worthy for the hall. Easiest way to check how many seasons you've played is by simply staying undefeated. By going 35-0, you should be near the end of the Career mode and on your way to being enshrined.

  • Complete Career Mode and retire undefeated.

Probably one of the more difficult achievements in the game. To maximize your chances of securing this achievement, there are however a few tips that may come in handy. Never accept any offers for matches directly from Dana White.

Never fight the top ranked challenger for your championship or for your next fight in general (pay close attention to their rank in the lower left hand corner.) Try to utilize the time between events by training by both sparring and maxing your three skills, as well as going to your camp.

If you are to lose a match, quickly press the Guide button directly upon defeat and jump back to the dashboard.

  • Obtain the KO, Submission and Fight of the Night Awards with a fighter in Career Mode.

More easily done in the big fights, such as the title defenses and the title shot itself. The awards may be randomly awarded, but by knocking out your opponent in a bigger, more hyped match you have a stronger chance of obtaining them. Either knock your opponent out or use a submission move in one of these fights to obtain the award.

As for Fight of the Night, some times you can actually hear the commentaries joke about "Fight of the night" when your exchanged in a bloody brawl. I got it when I made it to round three in a title defense against Rashad Evans. Don't go for a quick knockout or submission move.

  • Win in under 20 seconds of the 1st round against a COM UFC Fighter in Exhibition or Career Mode.

Remember to use  at the beginning of the match to close the space between you and your opponent. It may take a few attempts but eventually, as with the Flash KO achievement, you'll get lucky and most likely knock him out.

  • Complete all tasks from the Tutorial Mode.

When you first load the game, you are most likely prompted to begin the tutorial. The tutorial is fairly simple at times, almost too simple and could eat away as much as thirty minutes of your time if your not careful. You must complete every semi-lesson in each section.

    The sections are as follows:

    • Navigation
    • Striking
    • Take down& Clinch
    • Transition
    • Submission
    • Others
  • Escape 20 submissions by technical escape against a COM UFC Fighter in Exhibition or Career Mode.

This is an achievement that can achieved across several matches. Submissions are when the opponent is attempting to break one of your limbs, such as the armbar. This achievement isn't awarded for escaping a pinned position against the canvas. Rotate to keep the opponent from snapping your body part and after 20, this should unlock.

  • Obtain all the trophies in Career Mode with a fighter.

You only need to have at least one of each Trophy. The trophies are:

    • 3 win streak
    • 6 win streak
    • 10 win streak
    • Submission of the night
    • Fight of the Night
    • KO of the Night
    • UFC Belt
    • UFC Hall of Fame award
    • Striking and Grappling Technique Level 3

Easiest way for the Submission trophy is to choose a Welterweight career. Raise your sub offense and defense from sparring. Play against a real GNP char (like Matt Hughes or Josh Koscheck , who are both good at boxing and wrestling), beat him up a bit and let him take you down. He will most likely end up in your open guard and will throw strikes. Catch one and rotate the stick fiercely and with good stats, you should snap his arm.

To obtain striking and grappling technique, simply schedule training sessions with other camps when you are prompted. It will put a little icon on your screen after you choose. When you get to the week where your visit is scheduled, go to Action on the Calendar menu and participate in the activity.

The camps themselves consist of one 5 minute round in which you are given tasks to complete. For instance, Land 10 kicks and punches, get a headkick knockdown, throw 5 uppercuts from the tie up, etc. For every task you complete you are rewarded 10 points. In order to reach level 3 in a discipline, you must gain 450 total points in the camps (150 per level). You can either do them one at a time, or take turns, it doesn't really matter.

The "UFC Hall of Fame trophy" is easily obtained if you are going for the "Call me no touch!" achievement. Try to get 33 - 35 undefeated wins and win your last match to be enshrined into the Hall of Fame.

  • Unlock all movies from the Classic Fights Mode.

From the list, probably one of the more boring achievements unless you choose to boost the online part. You must win a majority of the matches by decision. It will definately take away some time, so if you want, you could easily do this achievement in parts. Since a majority of these movies are unlocked by decision achievements, stay conservative throughout the matches. Use  and  to defend and attempt to keep your distance as much as possible.

Once in the last round, use strong kick combos instead of punching to keep from knocking the opponent out. If you are taken down, time and click and rotate to get out.

  • Win by KO without using any grappling against a COM UFC Fighter in Exhibition or Career Mode.

If you haven't gotten this achievement by time you attempt to go for the "That was easy!" achievement, your most likely going to unlock this one. Just do not grapple for a game and smash the opponents face with combos and the achievement is yours. One way to get the achievement with kicking a few times, but to be safe, just use and to parade your opponent.

It must be noted that this achievement excludes two things. Ground strikes and being grappled yourself. Try to fight someone that has a more stand up game. Lyoto Machida is a good light heavyweight match up for this achievement considering he is a defensive, straight up brawler.

  • Win by Submission using no striking against a COM UFC Fighter in Exhibition or Career Mode.

You cannot strike an opponent on the ground once you have them on the ground. Simply grab a good grappler (toggle stats with in the select fighter menu) and body slam them until you get them weak. Rotate your stick and click it a few times to get into a good submission move and rotate to break their body parts. Should unlock after he submits.

If your going for "Trophy Collector" you'll most likely be able to get this using the strategy there.

  • Complete one fight in Exhibition Mode with each UFC fighter.

  • Win a Ranked Match with a CAF or UFC fighter in Xbox LIVE.

    See "Red Belt" description.

  • Win 15 Ranked Matches with a CAF or UFC Fighter in Xbox LIVE.

    See "Red Belt" description.

  • Win 30 Ranked Matches with a CAF or UFC Fighter in Xbox LIVE.

    See "Red Belt" description.

  • Win 50 Ranked Matches with a CAF or UFC fighter in Xbox LIVE.

    See "Red Belt" description.

  • Win 100 Ranked Matches with a CAF or UFC fighter in Xbox LIVE.

    See "Red Belt" description.

  • Win 15 Ranked Matches with a CAF or UFC fighter by submission in Xbox LIVE.

Simply win 15 matches by breaking a limb so the opponent is forced to tap out. Cannot be unlocked through ground strikes.

  • Win 15 Ranked Matches with a CAF or UFC fighter by KO in Xbox LIVE.

May be boosted. The same as the achievement above. In ranked matches, knock out your opponents 15 times.

  • Obtain all the gold medals in a Xbox LIVE Ranked Match Weekly Mission.

For this achievement you must earn all of the possible 5 gold medals within one week. The 5 gold medals you have to get are:

    • Damage your opponents body an average of 30%
    • Win 10 consecutive matches
    • Win with 1 attack
    • KO opponent while rocked
    • Land 100% strikes and submit opponent first try

    1. Win w/ no missed hits and a sub on the first try.

Basically just take your opp down get in full guard. If your not and click , it will take about 5 seconds and the sub will be locked on and your opp tapping out. This would be very difficult without boosting.

    2. Win a round while your Rocked (Grey Screen)

Let your buddy beat your ass until you're Rocked. After you're in the Rocked state you cannot take anymore damage after that point even after your screen goes back to color. After your rocked state occurs if you cant knock him out that's fine just make him submit.

Note: You don't actually have to win with a grey screen you just have to win after that without taking more damage.

    3. Win w/ Opponent Avg Body HP below 30%

Easiest way is on 3-5 rounds.

Work on the legs with and alternate kicking buttons so its balancing pretty evenly do this for about 2:30 and make sure you are far enough away where your actually hitting both legs and not just one. Move up to the body using and alternating punches or kicks into the ribs do that for the remainder of the round. For the arms have your buddy guard his face or ribs and just keep hitting where he's guarding do this for a whole round. Now the head keep doing light punches or kicks to the head once you see its badly swollen or cut really bad then you can start using and kick or punch and you will have that medal after you win.

    4. Win 10 in a row

This is pretty self explanatory. Just boost til you have the 10 in a row.

    5. The Bastard Child of Satan AKA 1 Hit KO/Victory

This was a pain in the ass and you absolutely have to have timing down to do this.

There are at least two ways to do this to get the medal.

    1. Let your opponent do heavy moves to you until he's absolutely worn down (Yes this is ok as it doesnt count as your hit he can even take you down and do some work) after he's worn down and if you have created a Muay Thai Heavyweight with the aforementioned stats then this should work 99% of the time.

After he's worn down have him cross the octagon. Now this is important when you hit and kick from a distance you will do a jumping knee (you may want to test this out to get ur timing down as to when you need to jump to connect directly to his head)... Once you have that down pat then have ur buddy run at you using the L stick in the direction that you are and that will make him run full steam ahead into your knee and BAMMM relief you just got the Sperm of Satan Medal.

    2. The other way is exactly the same but instead of him hitting you and getting worn down have him run around the ring and do his power move over and over its just this way takes a little bit longer to wear him down.

Further methods: Allow your opponent to wail away on you until either all his stamina is gone to yellow or wait until the 2nd or 3rd round and while his is down in Yellow just do your power move whether it be kick, knee, punch etc. Confirmed to work with UFC fighters.

  • Gain a million or more fans in a Xbox LIVE Ranked Match.

Fans are gained by winning matches. You should unlock this while going for the "Red Belt" achievement. Fans are lost by losing matches, however, there is not a set amount to be lost per match. It depends upon your performance. So if your going to lose a match, attempt to fight your best so your points and fans don't take as bad a beating as you did. If the match is close enough, you even sometimes are able to gain fans from losing matches. It all depends on the effort you put into the fights.

  • Win a fight by flash KO in a Xbox LIVE Ranked Match with a CAF or UFC fighter.

This cannot be a combo. You must get lucky and knock out an opponent in a freak super man punch. Easily done when their stamina is down to a point where they are gasping for air and they look wobbly. It may be boosted.

  • Create A Fighter and use the CAF in Exhibition or Xbox LIVE.

Create a fighter, remember what class you made him in and then load up the character in Exhibition. The character may be used in Xbox Live matches as well. You do not have to win the fight for the achievement to unlock.

  • Reach level 50 or higher in a Xbox LIVE Ranked Match.

It's time consuming if you want to boost or if you want to do it legit. Their are a few methods of getting the achievement faster, however.

First you must remember that if you simply get the snot beat out of you, without much resistance on your part, your going to lose more fans and points then you would if you brawled it out and lost a close match. So if you don't really feel like playing a match, chances are it's a better decision to not play it.

If your going to boost, grab a friend on your list. Once he's ready, both go to Custom match and get the same settings down. Usually it will prompt one of you to host a match, once you create it tell him to begin the search for your match with the same settings. It's not a completely great boosting technique, considering people usually join and he usually joins someone else' match, but I got 20 matches in an hour and half.

Remember to use submission and defense to the best of your abilities. If your really having problems, back out of the lobby on good, high ranked players and try to play poorly experienced people. A trick that works well and is very lightly used is the hard kicks. Not only do they hurt the opponent, they are a long distance attack and keep their stamina down. Don't get into a slug feast, stay conservative and use your kicks and submission moves.

Secret achievements

  • Dominate the opponent in all 3 scenes of a replay segment.

A simple solution to this achievement is to dominate your opponent and/or knock them out. You must watch all three replay segments for the achievement to pop. You can usually tell when your dominating the replay, considering your the one initiating the contact. This achievement is awarded in between rounds and cannot be obtained by watching the highlights if you dominate and knock out your opponent in the first round.

  • Watch the Octagon Girl cutscene 15 times without skipping it.

Just watch the cut scene of the Dead or Alive ring girls 15 times and it should unlock. Probably one of the more entertaining achievements this game has to offer.

  • Mouth piece travels more than 3 meters when knocked out.

Really, this achievement is more about luck. Use rough kick and hard punches (aim your Left stick towards the opponent as you punch or kick). If your a player that likes to go for the knockout, you should eventually unlock this achievement in no time. An uppercut or strong jab to the jaw usually gets the most hang time from the mouthpiece.

  • From the gassed state, KO an opponent in any mode.

This is similar to the achievement above. Use the same strategy, thudding your opponent with punches until your both a mix of blood and sweat. Remember that as easy as it is for you to knock them down in this state, the same applies to the computer. So keep your fists up and the remaining stamina higher then theirs before you come in for the fatal blow. If your having trouble, hook up another controller or ask a bud to play with you online.

  • From the gassed state, Submit an opponent in any mode.

Fight a rough, yet guarded match for a while against a weaker opponent. Gassed state means when your tired. Easiest way to check this is by going to the pause menu and finding the option "Turn on stamina bars". Once you feel confident your stamina is low enough, go in and use a submission move against the opponent. Can't be done by striking, you must use a submission move.
