Introduction:
The PC classic UNDERTALE comes to Xbox One! Explore a rich RPG world full of strange and delightful characters where violence isn’t the only answer. Dance with a slime...pet a dog...whisper your favorite secret to a knight...or ignore all of that and rain destruction upon your foes. The choices are yours—but are you determined enough to prevail?

Step 1: Spare Papyrus!
To have access to the elements of Step 2 of this Road Map, don't kill Papyrus at the end of the Snowdin section of the game. After fighting and sparing him, you can access his house and enter the Dog Shrine, where you will get the majority of the game's achievements. See Step 2 and the guide below for more info on that before progressing the story any further. I used this walkthrough to complete the game. The puzzles aren't very hard, but some of the mechanics in the boss fights aren't immediately apparent, and it walks through the entirety of the achievement list as well, so it's a great resource.

Note: You CAN still get all the achievements for the dog shrine and slot machine if you kill Papyrus, but it takes much longer and is very annoying, so I will highly suggest doing it the way I outline in the next step. I will include the alternate method in the achievement descriptions below for posterity though.

Step 2: Dog Shrine and Slot Machine
Once you have spared Papyrus in the story, head to his house in Snowdin to access the Dog Shrine and the Slot Machine. There are four achievements for various combinations on the slot machine and another seven achievements for donating money to the Dog Shrine. See the achievements below for the best methods to knock these out quickly so you can continue with the story.

Step 3: Finish the Game (Mostly)
The rest of the achievements in the game are story-related, but run out about 75% of the way through the game. You don't technically have to finish the story to get the full completion achievement-wise. Up to you whether you see the ending(s) or not.

Conclusion:
Undertale is a wonderful game with really unique boss battles. The creator of it hates the idea of forcing achievements, but since Sony and Microsoft require it, he wanted to create a list that was as annoying as possible which is why everything is centered around the arbitrary Dog Shrine and Slot Machine, and you don't even have to finish the story to get all the achievements because it has multiple endings and he didn't want to force someone to choose which way to play. However, from a purely gameplay and story perspective, this is a game any RPG fan should experience. You can play without killing anything, killing everything, or some combination of both - and there are multiple endings to experience depending on how you play.

The Dog Shrine can be accessed in one of two ways, with the first method being much easier and much quicker than the other.

Method 1: As I mentioned in the Road Map, I would suggest NOT killing Papyrus during the boss fight. Once he says he'll show mercy on you, pull an Uno reverse card and use the Mercy option on him instead. After that, speak with him and he will take you to his house. Inside the kitchen, you will find a door that leads to the Dog Shrine, and inside you'll also find the slot machine. This is where we'll make our coins.

First, SAVE YOUR GAME! Next, purchase coins from the box on the left. I only had about 140 Gold, so I got a bank of 25 coins to start with (5 coins per 25 gold). Then, go up to the slot machine and start spamming button-a.png - that's it, no strategy at all, just luck. Some people suggest opening the xbox guide to see where the wheels are and then try to get a specific icon, but it's not worth the hassle.

I zeroed out once and had to dashboard and reload the save I made, but the second time I hit a triple dog jackpot worth 150 coins and could then keep going. Just keep spamming the action button and eventually, usually in about 15-20 minutes worth of time, you'll hit another jackpot or two and get some other smaller bonuses and find that you now have over 500 coins. Exit the slot machine, go over to the donation box, and deposit all 500 coins at once to unlock all of the dog shrine achievements at the same time. If you're lucky, you will have hit all four of the achievement-related bonuses (cherries, ghosts, bones, and D O G), but if not, you can return to the slot machine to finish up.

Method 2: If you decide to kill Papyrus in his boss fight, you will not be able to access his house or the slot machine. Instead, you'll find the dog shrine donation box in the Garbage Dump/Trash Zone near the waterfall. See HERE for a picture of its location. Using this donation box, you are forced to donate only one gold at a time (regular money, not casino coins like the above method). There are various thresholds where you'll unlock achievements, but to get all seven dog shrine and all four casino achievements, you must donate 350 gold in this method. It takes forever since you can only donate one gold each time, and you may need to fight some enemies to get 350 gold in the first place.

    • Line up three cherries in the Dog Shrine, or...

See Dognation One X (100G) for info on how to access the slot machine, as well as the alternate method of unlocking these achievements. If you decide to kill Papyrus during his boss fight, you will get the slot machine achievements by donating gold, one piece at a time, to a donation box in the Garbage Zone. If you decide to spare Papyrus, you will play the slot machine in his house for the achievements, which I'll explain below.

There is no real method to getting the four bonuses required for these achievements. Buy some casino coins from the box on the left inside the casino, then just keep spamming button-a.png and paying one coin each spin, and you will inevitably hit all of them within 15-20 minutes. You'll get plenty of bonuses to keep your money flowing, especially if you get a triple dog face which is worth 150 coins. If you manage to get triple sevens, the wheels on the slot machine will slow down which may allow you to aim for a specific bonus. However, once you get a bonus after the triple seven, everything speeds back up.
